Bautista asks Tulfo to donate in 19 groups, and make his apology public

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rolando Bautista set a condition to journalist Erwin Tulfo to prove that he’s really sincerely apologizing for his statement against the retired General.

In a statement, Bautista said that he would only accept the apology of Tulfo he would follow the conditions set by the DSWD Secretary, like publishing his letter of apology in all of his social media accounts, radio stations, and leading broadsheets.

Bautista also demanded that Tulfo should donate not less than 300,000 pesos to the organizations he listed to the letter.

These groups are:

1. Philippine Military Academy (PMA)

2. Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association Incorporated

3. Association of Generals and Flag Officers

4. First Scout Ranger Regiment, Philippine Army (PA)

5. Special Forces Regiment (Airborne), PA

6. Light Reaction Regiment, PA

7. Philippine National Police Special Action Force

8. Philippine Naval Special Operations Group, Philippine Navy (PN)

9. Philippine Marines Special Operations Group, PN

10. Philippine National Police Maritime Group

11. The trust fund for the city of Marawi’s internally displaced persons to be administered by DSWD BARM

12. Philippine Veterans Hospital

13. AFP Victoriano Luna Medical Center

14. Philippine National Police Camp Crame General Hospital

15. Philippine Army General Hospital

16. Philippine Navy General Hospital

17. Philippine Air Force General Hospital

18. Philippine Coastguard General Hospital

19. An educational trust fund for the deserving children of DSWD employees to be deposited at the Landbank.

According to Bautista, he would prefer Tulfo to donate to the said groups instead of paying for the possible libel case that he would face for his statement against the retired General.

He also thanked his supporters including the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Joint Task Force Marawi, PMA, and his friends for showing their concerns after Tulfo made a harsh message against him.

On May 28, Tulfo criticized Bautista on his radio show at Radyo Pilipinas after the retired General refused for an interview.

Bautista slowly gained support from his friends and groups and demanded Tulfo to apologize.

At first, Tulfo said that he could apologize to Bautista, but he would not take back his statements against him.

But when PNP started to recall the security detail of Erwin Tulfo and his other relatives, he decided to make a public apology, explaining that he was not aware by the achievements of Bautista.

Hidilyn Diaz asks the government to hire her boyfriend as conditioning coach for $1,900 and condo – former PSC Chairman

After Rio Olympics weight lifting silver medalist Hidilyn Diaz complained about her financial problems in the middle of her road to the gold medal, a former official of the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) made a shocking revelation about the athlete.

Yesterday, the former PSC Chairman posted the photo of Diaz and her alleged boyfriend Julius Irvin Naranjo Naranjo.

Six hours after he introduced the couple to his followers, he explained in another social media post why he wanted social media users to be aware of the relationship between Diaz and Naranjo.

In his post, former PSC Chairman Dr. Aparicio Mequi claimed that Diaz told the government that she wanted to hire her boyfriend, Naranjo as her conditioning coach.

However, the PSC didn’t grant the request of Diaz after she revealed that they need to pay her boyfriend $1,500 (78,000 PHP) monthly, a condominium where Naranjo can stay while doing his job as a conditioning coach, and another $400 (20,000 PHP) for utilities.

Aparicio was skeptical about the request of Diaz, saying that if her boyfriend loves her, he should offer his service for free.

“She wanted PSC to hire him as her strength and conditioning (S&C) coach with a salary of $1,500 and condo inclusive of utilities at $400 or a total of $1,900/month! Now, this fella is from Guam ??, named Julius Irvin Naranjo. If he really cares for and loves Hidilyn, why doesn’t he just help her without asking for remunerations?” Mequi said.

“Does he have a working Visa? If none, then BOI should deport him asap! Anyway, PSC didn’t grant this special request for Hidilyn. Hopefully, she will not use this as an excuse if she doesn’t win a medal in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.” he added.

While some believed that Diaz is allegedly trying to demand a high salary for her boyfriend, a netizen explained that the silver medalist is only asking a little money compared to other athletes who wanted to win the Olympics.

“In ice skating the US$1,500 is good for only 10sessions(2hrs each), for non-olympian level only. But for Olympian like Michael Martinez its 150US per coach per specialty. Spin, jumps, choreo for example 3coachesx$150US = US$450 per day less off ice training, S&C’s, etc. Approx US$800 per day. Mrs.Martinez spends around 30-40M for 7yrs before SM Corp., after the Sochi Olympics, gave him US$20,000 per month.” netizen Ayasofya Aguirre said.

Dr. Mequi posted the story the same day after Diaz met with the PSC officials to discuss her financial problems.

PSC said that they’re ready to give more support to Diaz.

On June 4, Hidilyn became the headline of news outlets after complaining about her financial problem, she also asked for a sponsorship from private companies.

“Hirap na hirap na ko, I need financial support,” Diaz said.

Trillanes is giving a clue to the press in several interviews that he’s planning to teach after his Senate term.

Several structures owned by Makati City Government like it’s parking, school and hospital were tried to investigate by Trillanes several years ago.

Lacson also confirmed that he only added the “free burial and free parking” to the story, because he remembered the investigation of Trilanes against Nancy Binay’s father.

“Dagdag ko na lang ‘yung free parking and free burial kasi si Sen Trillanes, pursued to the hilt the Senate Investigation on the UMak and parking lot issues if you recall,” he added.

After receiving 4.5m this year, Hidilyn Diaz pleads: “Hirap na hirap na ako, I need financial support”

Rio Olympics silver medalist Hidilyn Diaz made an emotional appeal to the netizens and companies on Instagram, expressing the financial struggle she’s experiencing.

On her social media post, Hidilyn Diaz asked the private companies if she can receive a private sponsorship to fund her training for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, saying that she’s already suffering because of low-funding.

“It is okay to ask sponsorship sa mga private companies towards Tokyo 2020? Hirap na hirap na ako, I need financial support.” Diaz said.

“Sa tingin niyo ba okay lang kaya nahihiya kasi ako pero try ko kapalan mukha ko para sa minimithi kong pangarap para sa atin bansa na maiuwi ang Gold Medal sa Olympics,” she added.

The post of Diaz became the headlines of several news networks and made some of her fans to criticize the government for allegedly not supporting the silver medalist.

However, in a statement, Philippine Sports Commission Chairman Butch Ramirez revealed that Diaz already received 4.5-M pesos this year to fund her training in China, her coach Kaiwen Gao also receiving a monthly salary and food allowance.

They also added that they quickly made a new gym at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex after Diaz complained about the condition of the facilities there, saying that it’s hard to train if the training equipments there are already outdated.

“Hidilyn receives support from the PSC and the Philippine Airforce being enlisted personnel,” Ramirez said.

Last year, it was also revealed that Diaz received P3-M from the government.

“I do not think the government was remiss of its support to Hidilyn. Despite what it seems, we at the PSC choose to see her for what she is, a champion we will support on her dream to achieve more,” he said.

“it would be good for Hidilyn to visit us so we could talk and clarify matters.“ he added.

Journalist Erwin Tulfo makes a public apology for the second time since he berated Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Secretary Rolando Bautista after the latter refused for an interview with the former’s radio show.

In a statement, Tulfo considered his statement last Thursday as a public apology to Bautista. However several of the supporters and former colleague of the retired General didn’t accept his defense, so he made another statement to end the issue.

“Ako po at ang buong pamilyang Tulfo ay buong pakumbabang himihingi ng kapatawaran kay DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista sa pagmumura at pambabastos ko sa kanya on air.” Tulfo said.

According to him, the issue started to miscommunication because Tulfo didn’t research about Bautista’s achievement before criticizing the retired General who’s considered as one of the most respectable soldiers after leading the army in the front lines during the Marawi Siege.

“Nagkaroon po ng miscommunication ho. Mali lang ho kasi. Hindi ko muna ho inalam nang mabuti kung anong ginagawa nung mabuting Heneral (Bautista).” he said.

Tulfo also said that he welcomes any charges against him, especially the defamation cases filed by the Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association against him.

“Kung kailangan personal na harapin ko DSWD Secretary Bautista, walang problema.” Tulfo said.

He also clarified that he’s already receiving security detail from the PNP since the Estrada administration.

Tulfo also understood that it’s the right of the PNP to recall his security detail.

Several days ago, Tulfo said that he would push Bautista’s face in the toilet bowl after the latter told his team that they need to write in advance before having an interview with the DSWD Secretary.

“Secretary Bautista, ha, ng DSWD, listen up and listen good. Tinatawagan ka namin para marinig ng mga kababayan nating mahihirap ang stand ng mga mahihirap, ha. Hindi yung sasabihan mo kami na sumulat muna kayo, 5 days, 5 days before. Eh sino ka bang p*nyeta ka na kailangan ko pang sumulat-sulat sayo?” Tulfo told Bautista.

“Sampalin kita pag nakita kitang buang ka eh, wala akong pakialam ke retired General ka, mudmurin ko yung mukha mo sa inidoro,” he added.

In his first apology, Tulfo also said that he would apologize to Bautista but he would not take back his words against the DSWD Secretary.

“I apologize for the ranting, excessive ranting. Kung may mga words ako na nagamit, siguro uncalled-for, ako (ay) humihingi ng paumanhin. Pero ‘yung pagpupuna po kay General Bautista., (‘yung) pagtawag ko sa kanya na walang kuwenta, inutil, hindi ko babawiin ‘yon kasi trabaho naman ng bawat opisyal, magtrabaho,” Tulfo said.

Some OFWs wants to go home to help the government in Manila Subway Project

Several Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) heard that the Metro Manila Subway Project is going to start soon, so they decided to offer their service to the Philippine government.

In an open letter, Mark Lopez addressed the Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade, informing him that some OFWs who worked as an Engineer in different parts of the world wanted to be part of the Manila Subway Project.

Lopez said that OFWs Deo Miranda, Israel Banwa Aplod and Yeye Banaag who’re currently working in Doha, Qatar are willing to offer their service to the government.

According to him, the said OFWs doesn’t mind if they’re not going to receive the same salary they enjoy abroad, because it’s more vital for them to help their own country even for once.

“Sa sobrang galak po nila sa nabalitaan nila dito ay lalung sumidhi ang kanilang pagka Pilipino at gusto na nilang umuwi Sir Art para po tumulong sa Metro Manila Subway project! Naisip ko Sir Art na “naku baka malaki ang mawala sa kanila sa sweldo kung uuwi sila.” Lopez said.

“Pero sa nabasa ko po sa mga comments nila dun sa nais nilang umuwi at ibahagi sa sarili nilang bayan ang kanilang talent at expertise, ramdam na ramdam ko po yung authentic nationalism and patriotism nitong mga bagong bayani natin.” he added.

According to Lopez, he remembered the statement of President Duterte, saying that he wanted to see OFWs going back home not because they’re jobless, but because there’s a decent job available for them in their own country.

Meanwhile, Banaag responded to Lopez, saying that they prefer to serve their own country.

“Kung Sa ibang bansa po nagawa po naming magtiis at gawin ang project nila, ito pa po kayang para bansa natin,” Banaag said.

As of writing, the photo already reached 12,000 reactions and 7,000 shares.

Several netizens also became emotional after reading the post of Lopez.

DOTr is not yet responding on Lopez post.

Bato defends DSWD Sec. Bautista from Erwin Tulfo’s tirade: “Dumaan muna kayo sa akin!”

Incoming Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa defended Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Rolando Bautista after journalist Erwin Tulfo made harsh criticism against the latter.

In a Facebook post, Dela Rosa who’s also a product of the Philippine Military Academy like Bautista, made a post dedicated to his upperclassmen, saying that people should face him first before berating the DSWD Secretary.

“Kung sino man ang gustong mambastos at manakit sa napakabait at napakamaginoong upperclassman ko na ito dumaan muna kayo sa akin para matikman ninyo ang brotherhood ng PMAyers.” Dela Rosa said.

Dela Rosa is part of the PMA 1986 “Sinagtala” class while Bautista is part of “1985” Sandiwa class.

Bato is not the only PMA alumni who expressed their disappointment over Tulfo’s statement against Bautista.

On May 31, the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Alumni Association released a statement condemning Tulfo’s statement, they also offered Bautista legal service if ever the retired General wanted to file charges against the journalist.

Most of Bautista’s supporter praised him for being one of the “Heroes of Marawi” leading the frontlines during the height of the Marawi Siege.

Tulfo made a statement against Bautista several days ago after the latter informed his radio show that they need to write a request to the DSWD Sec. before interviewing him.

“Sampalin kita pag nakita kitang buang ka eh, wala akong pakialam ke retired General ka, mudmurin ko yung mukha mo sa inidoro,”  Tulfo told Bautista.

Coincidentally, AFP and PNP removed the security detail for Tulfo brothers, several days after Erwin made a statement against Bautista.

Tulfo brothers lose their security detail from PNP and Marines

The Philippine National Police (PNP) recalled their security detail for Erwin, Raffy, and Ben Tulfo.

The decision of AFP came several days after Erwin Tulfo made harsh criticisms against Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rolando Bautista.

However, the PNP denied that the recall was a response against Tulfo’s statement against Bautista, saying that the security details were only going to a regular “review” which is normal.

“Based on standard protocols, the two PNP security personnel assigned to Erwin Tulfo will undergo the regular inspection, interview and debriefing this week following an assigned schedule among all PSPG [Police Security and Protection Group] personnel,” said Police Colonel Bernard Banac, PNP spokesperson.

“All authorization of Tulfo siblings will undergo same review process as ordered by [Department of Interior and Local Government] Secretary [Eduardo] Ano,” Banac added.

Armed Forces of the Philippines also recalled two Marines assigned to secure Philippine Special Envoy for Public Diplomacy to China Ramon Tulfo.

They also denied that the statement of Erwin Tulfo against Bautista is the reason for the recall.

According to them, there’s only a shortage of personnel that made them call the security detail for Mon Tulfo.

Several days ago Tulfo made remarks against Bautista after the latter refused to an interview request for “Tutok Tulfo” radio show.

“Secretary Bautista, ha, ng DSWD, listen up and listen good. Tinatawagan ka namin para marinig ng mga kababayan nating mahihirap ang stand ng mga mahihirap, ha. Hindi yung sasabihan mo kami na sumulat muna kayo, 5 days, 5 days before. Eh sino ka bang p*nyeta ka na kailangan ko pang sumulat-sulat sayo?” Tulfo told Bautista.

“Sampalin kita pag nakita kitang buang ka eh, wala akong pakialam ke retired General ka, mudmurin ko yung mukha mo sa inidoro,” he added.

Netizen said that he spotted Chel Diokno riding a taxi: “Baka ang kapalaran ng mamang ito ay maging Pangulo”

A netizen shared a story on how he met a defeated senatorial candidate several days ago, showing how the politician came back from his humble life after months of intense campaigning.

Eric Oebanda, claimed that he met Chel Diokno who’s according to him, chasing a taxi.

Diokno even offered the taxi to him, however, he let the politician ride the vehicle first.

“That man chasing the Taxi is Chel Diokno. The man I voted as a Senator. Makikipag-agawan pa sana ako, pero medyo may edad na siya. Bitbit niya ang kanyang trademark na bag at mga envelope, he even signaled na kunin ko na ang taxi. Sabi ko ok lang po, he then smiled at tumakbo na papunta sa loob,” Oebanda said.

According to Oebanda, he was saddened that the people didn’t vote for smart people like Diokno, but he’s still hoping that the latter would enter politics again.

The netizen also vowed to campaign for Diokno in the next election because he believed in his ability to serve the people.

He even said that Diokno is not really meant to be a Senator, but to be the next President of the Philippines.

“Kung gustuhin mang tumakbo ng mamang to sa susunod na eleksiyon ikakampanya ko siya. Dahil ang mga katulad niya na napanatili ang paa sa lupa kahit siya ay mayaman, kilala at matalino ay hindi sinasayang. If we want him, we have to fight for him.” Oebanda said.

“Baka ang kapalaran ni Mang Chel ay hindi maging Senador, baka ang kapalaran ng mamang ito ay maging Pangulo. Ipagkakatiwala ko ba ang kinabukasan ng mga anak ko sa kanya? Oo naman!” he added.

Oebanda ended his post with a hashtag Diokno2022.

This is not the first time that someone used #Diokno2022 in their post, many netizens on Twitter also pushed the defeated senatorial candidate to become the standard bearer of the opposition in the next Presidential election.

The story is also almost the same with the story about Vice President Leni Robredo “waiting for a bus” that went viral during the 2016 presidential elections.

As of writing, the post which reached 100,000 likes 27,000 shares on social media has been deleted because of unknown reasons.
