In a press conference for his latest movie, Yap urged Picache and even his hero Joel Lamangan to stop spreading misinformation that he was the one trying to compete with the movie ‘Oras de Peligro’.
He even mentioned Picache’s alleged breakup with her boyfriend Edu Manzano.
“Kung ako po sa inyo Miss Cherry Pie… nanood ako kanina ng Tanging Yamankasi gustung-gusto ko siya doon para lang hindi ko siya pagsalitaan nang masakit.” he said.
“Ang kaibahan lang sa Tanging Yaman, hindi siya iniwan ni Edu doon. Asawa kasi siya ni Edu doon,” he added.
The director then urged the two to spend the remaining years of their life not spreading lies and to avoid criticizing other films just to promote their own.
“You know Direk Joel, Miss Cherry Pie, yung natitira ninyong panahon sa mundong ito, huwag nyong gamitin para magsinungaling. Mag-meeting kayong dalawa kung paano ninyo ipo-promote nang marangal ang pelikula ninyo because we are not using your names, we’re not mentioning your names in any presscon.” he stated.
“Stop this jurassic form of promotion. That’s the only and the last statement that I will deliver. Don’t you dare malign my bosses, all the money that was produced here were all from hard work.” he added.
It can be recalled that Lamangan allegedly accused Yap of being funded by the Marcos family to produce several movies.
As of writing, Lamangan and Picache have yet to comment to the statement of Yap.

Director Darryl Yap admitted that he’s not really in good terms with his ‘hero’ and ‘idol’ veteran filmmaker Joel Lamangan.
In an interview with Pep, the 36-year-old director said that while he was receiving criticisms from Lamangan because of his beliefs, Yap said that he’s not planning to give a response because of his respect to the latter.
“I’ve loved his work for a very long time and the comment from him only confirms that I exist. And for that, I’m very thankful for that. I cannot, you know, say bad things about him, because he’s really ano, he’s really something else for me.” Yap said.
Yap also said that before he started associating himself with the Marcos family, Lamangan was still his friend on Facebook.
However, as of writing, Lamangan and Yap were no longer friends on social media after the legendary filmmaker unfriended the Maid in Malacañang director.
“We were friends in Facebook for a time. Ngayon hindi na, in-unfriend ako,” he shared.
He also revealed that he already sent a friend request to Lamangan but until now he’s not yet receiving a response.

Yap questioned why he was being discussed by the people behind the said movie despite the fact that he’s not part of it.
He also called out Lamangan for lying after the latter claimed that Yap’s movie was trying to compete with Oras de Peligro.

The issue between the former actress and model Deniece Cornejo and actor Vhong Navarro has been revived after the netizens heard the story of former VJ Kat Alano in the hands of #RhymeswithWrong.
In 2014, the public talked about Cornejo and Navarro after the latter was allegedly ganged up by the group led by businessman Cedric Lee.
The public supported Navarro during those times while Cornejo became unpopular and even became the subject of memes.

Taguig City Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 74 Judge Bernard Pineda Bernal found Cornejo and Lee and several others guilty of grave coercion and sentenced them to serve six months and a maximum of three years and six months behind the bars.
However, Cornejo and Lee didn’t accept the ruling and asked the Office of the Court Administrator to remove the judge who handled the complaint of Navarro.
