Nilangaw?

The movie ‘Ako Si Ninoy’ became one of the most discussed movies on social media right now because it was made by Director Vince Tañada who’s also behind the film ‘Katips’.

However, several netizens claimed that the latest movie of Tañada may not receive a good viewership unlike ‘Katips’ because it would be shown along with veteran filmmaker Joel Lamangan’s ‘Oras de Peligro’ and Director Darryl Yap’s ‘MoM’.

An internet celebrity even tried to prove the low sales of ‘Ako Si Ninoy’ that was led by newbie actor JK Labajo.

In a Facebook post, Coach Jarret showed one of the theaters where the said movie was being shown to prove that no one really wanted to watch it.

Jarret said that it was already 5 minutes before the start of the movie but the cinema was still empty.

Jarret said.

It can be recalled that the leading star of ‘Ako Si Ninoy’ received criticisms on social media because of declaring that he was not interested in working with Yap who’s known for making financially successful movies.

Some netizens questioned the arrogant attitude of Labajo who’s just starting as an artist.

MTRCB suggested to report the music video of Toni Fowler, saying they will rate it ‘X’ if possible

While they had no control over Toni Fowler’s controversial music video of ‘MPL’, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MRTCB) said that they would give the content an ‘x-rating’.

In a statement released by MTRCB, they said that the MPL’s music video was not supposed to be shown to the public because of its sensitive content.

They also clarified that the producers of MPL didn’t ask them to review the video.

“The MTRCB wishes to inform the public that MPL did not undergo MTRCB review and classification, hence, it was not given any rating by the Board. We assure the public that had the MTRCB been given the opportunity to rate the same, it would have been given a NOT FOR PUBLIC EXHIBITION (“X”) rating,” the agency said.

Because they had no control over platforms like Youtube, MTRCB suggested to the netizens to just report the videos they thought were not suitable for public consumption.

“We also would like to remind the public that they may use the report/flag option on Youtube and other online platforms to flag or report content they deem inappropriate or offensive to their sensitivities. We are working on proposed amendments to our charter that are both fair to the creative industry and mindful of the needs of the Filipino viewing public,” they said.

Toni has yet to give a response to MTRCB’s rating.

It can be recalled that the movie ‘Metamorphosis’ received an X Rating in 2018 and was not allowed to be shown in theaters.

MTRCB also wanted to have authority over online streaming sites like Youtube, Netflix, and Amazon.

Currently, the agency only had jurisdiction only to television and movies.

Director Darryl Yap didn’t mince words against his ‘hero’ veteran filmmaker Joel Lamangan after the latter’s repeated criticisms against him.

During the press conference for his latest movie, Yap urged Lamangan to stop telling lies and promote his film ‘Oras de Peligo’ without dragging anyone’s name.

It can be recalled that Yap and Lamangan’s movies were being shown at the same time in theaters which started a rivalry between the two.

Yap said.

The 36-year-old director said that Lamangan should stop spreading his claims that he was not being supported by producers because of his beliefs.

It can be recalled that Lamangan claimed that Yap was trying to match his movie because the latter wanted to hide the truth behind the Marcos family.

At takot sila.”  Lamangan said.

Several netizens urged the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) to also ‘ban’ the upcoming movie of Darryl Yap ‘Martyr or Murderer’.

Yap said.

Cristy Fermin claims Willie Revillame will have a hard time to go back to GMA

Veteran columnist Cristy Fermin claimed that it would be difficult for her ‘anak-anakan’ Willie Revillame to return to GMA-7 if ever the latter’s show in AllTV decided to close for good.

In her online show “Showbiz Now Na” Fermin with her co-hosts Romel Chika and Wendell Alvarez discussed the possible backup plan of Revilla if ever that AllTV fail to become profitable.

Fermin believed that Revillame would have a hard time trying to convince the management of GMA to bring him back as he already chose AllTV instead of staying in the Kapuso Network where he was being watched by millions everyday.

The columnist said that Revillame already chose between AllTV and GMA.

There were reports that the television host was considering going back to the Kapuso Network as AllTV was facing difficulties in getting views.

Fermin said.

“Ang ganda-ganda ng kalagayan mo dito, pipirma ka ng another year or two years. Eh hindi mo nga ‘yun ginawa, eh. Dahil mas binigyan mo ng pagpapahalaga ‘yung bagong offer na tinanggap mo.” she added.

Fermin also believed that it reports were true, Revillame was really aware of the situation of AllTV.

It can be recalled that Revillame repeatedly denied that AllTV was failing already despite the rumors that several shows were already removed from their lineup.
