Former action star John Regala finally addressed the issue between him and actor Philip Salvador.

It can be recalled that an old video of Regala criticizing Salvador went viral on social media.

However, in a Facebook post, Regala clarified that he’s already on good terms with Salvador.

According to him, he was still healthy in the said video so netizens should not believe that it was taken recently.

“SA MGA KUMAKALAT PO NA VIDEO KO SA YOU TUBE TUNGKOL PO KAY TITO IPE ITO AY MATAGAL NA PO TAPOS NAGKAAYOS NA PO KAMI NI TITO IPE SANA NAMAN PO WAG NA ITONG PALAKIHIN 2012 PA PO ITO VIDEO NA ITO MAKIKITA NYO NAMAN PO NA BATA PA AKO DITO SANA WAG NA PO KAMI PAGAWAYIN NI TITO IPE DAHIL MAHAL KO PO SI TITO IPE,” Regala said.

“Oo. Hindi ba magkasama naman kami sa Asiong Salonga? “A, wala iyon [isyu], hindi pinapatulan yung ganun. Walang isyu sa amin ni John. John has been a younger brother to me, I love him, I respect him. He’s a very good actor. And I’m happy that he’s back. I’m really happy that he’s back. And producers should give him more projects because he is one of our greatest actors here,” Salvador remarked.

It seems that the attention being received by a ‘Pinoy Henyo’ contestant was not yet over one week after she and her partner faced controversy because of alleged cheating.

On the Valentine’s Day episode of the noontime show Eat Bulaga, Lyka Alburo who’s now being called ‘Stomach Girl’ received a tremendous amount of criticism because of allegedly trying to break the rules of the popular game show.

Even Joey de Leon took a swipe against Alburo, saying that cheating removes the fun of the game.

On February 21, Alburo released a bizarre apology video where she spoke in gibberish Nihonggo and even the netizens who knew how to speak the said language couldn’t understand what she was saying.

Several netizens believed that Alburo was only trying to capture the attention of the netizens and chasing clout.

They even questioned the sincerity of Alburo’s apology.

“Is she really saying sorry about that Pinoy Henyo fiasco? So bakit in Japanese (?) siya nagso-sorry? Hindi naman Japanese Henyo yung sinalihan nila na diumano’y nandaya sila ng boyfriend niya. Gusto ba niya talaga mag-sorry or gusto lang niya magpa-kontrobersiyal pa lalo?” netizen @iammadsdn said.

“I learned basic Japanese as an exchange student before. I am no expert, but this is not Japanese. I only understood Kudasai.” netizen @tiezasantos remarked.

“20 yrs na ko sa japan pero do ko ma gets kung ano sinasabi nya. Better ata Mag- aaral ulet ako ng jap. language,” netizen @shisenlove commented.

Joel Lamangan, ibinahagi na inatake sa puso at muntikan ng hindi matapos ang ‘Oras de Peligro’: “Kung nagtagal-tagal pa, natuluyan na siguro ako”

Despite his old age, veteran director Joel Lamangan refused to stop making movies especially if it’s about promoting his advocacy.

However, being a restless 70-year-old filmmaker had repercussions on his health.

During the media conference for his latest project ‘Oras de Peligro’ Lamangan shared that he almost passed away while filming the said movie.

According to him, he was rushed to the hospital after suffering from a heart attack and was already advised by his doctors to stop filming for a while.

.

Lamangan refused the advice of his doctors, saying that he wanted to finish ‘Oras de Peligro’ because he believed in the importance of the said movie.

“Inaatake na ko sa puso while doing this and my doctor told me to stop. But I felt I have to finish this, kailangang magawa ko ito. I only went to the hospital for my bypass after I’ve completed the movie.” Lamangan said.

“The doctor said na kung nagtagal-tagal pa, natuluyan na siguro ako. But I’m glad sa natapos kong pelikula and I’m very proud of our movie,” he added.

It can be recalled that Lamangan’s movie was being shown in the theaters together with Director Darryl Yap’s film about Marcos family.

Lamangan criticized Yap several times for allegedly spreading misinformation to improve the image of the Marcoses.

“Ang gusto nilang gawin, pagtakpan ang katotohanan, baguhin ang kasaysayan at sila ang palabasing kawawa. Ang mga Pilipino talaga ang nagpatalsik kay Marcos noon sa Malacanang. Yun ang totoo at dapat, igalang natin ang kasaysayan,” the legendary director said.

Lamangan also said that Yap intended to release their movie on the same date.

Arnold Clavio makes a message for Ash Wednesday: “May the ashes inspire us to do good”

Ash Wednesday is one of the most important days in the Philippines as it marks the beginning of the Lenten Season in the Catholic-majority country.

Filipino Catholics attend mass and receive ashes made from the burned palms from the previous year’s Palm Sunday on their foreheads in the sign of the cross.

Lenten Season is a time for Filipinos to reflect and pray while waiting for Easter.

One of the most religious personalities in the country, Arnold Clavio didn’t forget to remind his fans of the purpose of Ash Wednesday.

“Today on Ash Wednesday we begin the season of Lent. May the ashes inspire us to do good whenever we could because our time in this pilgrimage is finite and shall end as God desires.” Clavio said.

“To dust, we shall return. And may the Cross imposed on our heads impose in our hearts the love which God has for us thru His Son Lord Jesus Christ. We are called to embrace our crosses. They are burdens but beautiful burdens.” he added.

It can be recalled that Clavio was a follower of the Catholic faith and almost became a priest before becoming a journalist.

“Highschool palang ako tini-train na ako sa buhay seminaryo, so during that time ‘yun nga ano ako, praying the rosary, attending mass everyday, ‘yun ang naging buhay ko noong high school hanggang sa maging active ako na sakristan,” Clavio narrated.

“Pero after nung highschool na ako, noong nag-apply na ako maging seminarista, na-reject ako,” he added.

Neil Salvacion’s brother refutes the claims of Rabiya Mateo about her ex: “You opted to commit a sin during the pageant!”

The brother of Neil Salvacion broke his silence after Miss Universe Philippines 2020 claimed that she rejected the marriage proposal of her ex to prioritize her career.

It can be recalled that during the interview with Boy Abunda, Rabiya said that she refused to marry Neil who was her partner for 7 years to focus on giving the needs of her family.

Rabiya said: “I think this is the first time na sasabihin ko sa TV, but he proposed to me, and I was so young that time, I wasn’t ready. I have a lot of dreams for my family and during that time he was ready to settle na and feeling niya okay na siya sa buhay. Pero ako I want to aspire to be more. Doon kami nagkaroon ng conflict,”

However, the brother of Neil denied the claims of Rabiya saying that the beauty queen accepted the proposal from her ex.

In the post of Nhel Skie, he claimed that the beauty queen made a ‘sin’ while she was participating in the pageant which became the real reason for their breakup.

The netizen also said that Rabiya was still lucky because her ex-boyfriend decided to kept his silence.

“You never rejected my brother’s proposal. In fact, you accepted it and wore the ring before your pageant started internationally. Something happened along the way and you opted to commit a sin during the pageant and you have to own up to that.” he said.

“You’re lucky na mas gustong manahimik ng kapatid ko kesa patulan ang mga scripted na sagot mo.” he added.

As of writing, Rabiya has yet to give response to the post of Neil’s brother.

Veteran columnist Cristy Fermin made a revelation about Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo’s boyfriend Jeric Gonzales.

In her online program ‘Showbiz Now Na!’ Fermin alleged that Gonzales had a relationship with a man in the past who’s a salon owner.

The said issue became more controversial because the said man already had a family.

It can be recalled that several entertainment websites posted photos of a man alleged to be Gonzales together with the said businessman having sweet moments together.

“Wala ng intro intro spill the tea, oh dito muna tayo guys, stop muna kay Skusta kasi may JERIC GONZALES pa. yung kilala niyong JERIC GONZALES TWO TIMER naman pala. Actually daig pa nga TWO TIMER sa sobrang daming pinag sabay sabay eh. Paano mo nagagawang lokohin ang isang Rabiya?” one entertainment site wrote.

Fermin discussed the said issue and even claimed that she already witnessed the relationship of Gonzales with other men.

“Mas gugustuhin ko na na siya ay magalit sa akin dahil hindi ko pinaniniwalaan ang kasinungalinan niya,” Fermin said.

She also said that even the executives of Gonzales’ network GMA expressed concern over the activities of the actor.

“Tapatin na natin. Wala namang ibang isyung kinakapit dito kay Jeric kundi ‘tong pamamakla. Ang pinakahuli, ‘yung lumabas pa kasing mga litrato. Kaya dapat lang siyang ipatawag, labhan at banlawan. Totoo ‘yan,” the veteran columnist statement.

Fermin understood why GMA expressed concern over the circulation of photos because they wanted to preserve the image of Gonzales.

“’Yang kay Jeric, lagi na lang siyang nakakaladkad sa isyu ng pamamakla. Ginagastusan ka ng network. Ginagawa nila ang lahat para sa promosyon pagkatapos ang ginagastusan nila sa promo [ay] palaging nalalagay sa intriga at hindi pa kagandahan ang isyu,” she stated.

Gonzales didn’t make any reaction to the said accusations as of writing.

Nilangaw?

The movie ‘Ako Si Ninoy’ became one of the most discussed movies on social media right now because it was made by Director Vince Tañada who’s also behind the film ‘Katips’.

However, several netizens claimed that the latest movie of Tañada may not receive a good viewership unlike ‘Katips’ because it would be shown along with veteran filmmaker Joel Lamangan’s ‘Oras de Peligro’ and Director Darryl Yap’s ‘MoM’.

An internet celebrity even tried to prove the low sales of ‘Ako Si Ninoy’ that was led by newbie actor JK Labajo.

In a Facebook post, Coach Jarret showed one of the theaters where the said movie was being shown to prove that no one really wanted to watch it.

Jarret said that it was already 5 minutes before the start of the movie but the cinema was still empty.

“Guys 5mins na lang magstart na movie pero wala padin yun mga ibang manonood daw. Baka may pila pa sa labas o natraffic. Sana na yun isang dosena na bumili!” Jarret said.

It can be recalled that the leading star of ‘Ako Si Ninoy’ received criticisms on social media because of declaring that he was not interested in working with Yap who’s known for making financially successful movies.

Some netizens questioned the arrogant attitude of Labajo who’s just starting as an artist.

MTRCB suggested to report the music video of Toni Fowler, saying they will rate it ‘X’ if possible

While they had no control over Toni Fowler’s controversial music video of ‘MPL’, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MRTCB) said that they would give the content an ‘x-rating’.

In a statement released by MTRCB, they said that the MPL’s music video was not supposed to be shown to the public because of its sensitive content.

They also clarified that the producers of MPL didn’t ask them to review the video.

“The MTRCB wishes to inform the public that MPL did not undergo MTRCB review and classification, hence, it was not given any rating by the Board. We assure the public that had the MTRCB been given the opportunity to rate the same, it would have been given a NOT FOR PUBLIC EXHIBITION (“X”) rating,” the agency said.

Because they had no control over platforms like Youtube, MTRCB suggested to the netizens to just report the videos they thought were not suitable for public consumption.

“We also would like to remind the public that they may use the report/flag option on Youtube and other online platforms to flag or report content they deem inappropriate or offensive to their sensitivities. We are working on proposed amendments to our charter that are both fair to the creative industry and mindful of the needs of the Filipino viewing public,” they said.

Toni has yet to give a response to MTRCB’s rating.

It can be recalled that the movie ‘Metamorphosis’ received an X Rating in 2018 and was not allowed to be shown in theaters.

MTRCB also wanted to have authority over online streaming sites like Youtube, Netflix, and Amazon.

Currently, the agency only had jurisdiction only to television and movies.
