Vice Ganda reveals his dream to appear on Bubble Gang: “Dream ko iyan”

Vice Ganda’s statement in 2022 went viral on social media again, revealing his dream to become a guest in a GMA Network program.

According to Vice, he dreamed of appearing on Bubble Gang, saying that it was one of his bucket lists when he was still a talent of the GMA Network.

It can be recalled that Vice became a talent on GMA in the past, appearing on several shows of the Kapuso network, including SOP and Eat Bulaga.

He also became one of the Kapuso soap Saang Sulok ng Langit casts in 2005.

However, despite staying in GMA, he never receives an opportunity to appear on Bubble Gang despite being a comedian.

“Ewan ko. Di naman ako nakapag-guest doon. Kahit nga GMA, di nila naaalala na galing ako doon.” Vice said.

Now that he’s part of the Kapuso Network, netizens were excited if Vice’s dream to appear on Bubble Gang would happen anytime soon.

Michael V., the creative director and cast of Bubble Gang, also said that he was open to any collaboration with Vice.

“Si Vice Ganda. Si Vice Ganda has always been open to collaboration.” Michael said. “The last time we met, the last time na nagkausap kami, lagi n’yang sinasabi: [sana] makapag-guest ako sa ‘Bubble Gang’,”

GMA CEO Felipe Gozon confident that It’s Showtime will gain higher ratings

GMA Network CEO Felipe Gozon expressed confidence that ‘It’s Showtime’ will get higher ratings under their channel GTV.

During a media conference on June 30, 2023, Gozon said that the higher reach of GMA would help the Kapamilya noontime show get a higher audience around the Philippines.

“Sa aking pananaw, ang pinagsamang skills, expertise, experience and resources ng ABS at GMA can be characterized as very formidable. Dahil malawak ang analog at digital reach at malinaw ang signal at reception ng GTV, malamang na hindi lamang ma-maintain ng Showtime ang mataas na rating nito kung hindi baka tumaas pa,” Gozon said.

He’s also expecting more collaboration between them and ABS-CBN.

“Nag-uusap kame ni Mark at ni Carlo bago tayo umupo rito at sa tingin ko sa darating na panahon, mayroon pang magiging collaboration between GMA and ABS that will be mutually beneficial and rewarding for both of us,” the businessman stated.

However, despite the extravagant production prepared by GMA and ABS-CBN on July 1, 2023, for their noontime show, TV5’s ‘E.A.T’ still led the rating contest, gaining an 8.4% rating versus 4% achieved by ‘It’s Showtime.’

Observers believed that TV5 should not be confident, saying that the competition between the two noontime shows would only be determined in the long-term.

Marketing practitioner explains Eat Bulaga is struggling to get an audience: “Identity Crisis.”

A marketing practitioner explained why ‘E.A.T’ led the noontime show contest on July 1 against their competitors Eat Bulaga and It’s Showtime.

In a Facebook post, Joey Garcia said that despite changing its title, ‘E.A.T’ hosts Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and other ‘Legit Dabarkads’ already established their own fanbase and identity that would help them to get a higher reach than other noontime shows.

He also explained that TVJ’s noontime show’s target audience was broader than their longest competitor, ‘It’s Showtime.’

“TVJ – Legit Dabarkads – Typical Pinoy Family; CLASS ABCDE; with heavy on CDE; typical bakya market with stronghold to BabyBoomer – to GenX market; — Family oriented — nostalgic; acceptance of modern family dynamics but no overboarding. Interms of production, tama lang walang too much effort and hosting is just wholesome with a bit of being pilyo at oang aasar; typical family kulitan.” said Garcia.

“SHOWTIME – lahat ng sobra na hjndi gagawin ng LEGIT TVJ they are ready to do it; but No nostalgia; same market segments but will definitely risk of doing “it” just to offer something different. Gets? Production is heavy a typical abscbn quality — imagery is very good; kulitan is the typical friends; a modern one.” he added.

Garcia also believed that the rebranded version of Eat Bulaga was struggling in the popularity contest because of having an ‘identity crisis.’

“EAT BULAGA (new) – positioning wise, delikado na; will naturally die down; identify crisis; they don’t own the name in the true sense; lalo na ngayon na may Legit Dabarkads; marketable? Numbers won’t lie! — nakakalito hindi na nila alam ang nangyayari,” he stated.

As of writing Garcia’s post already reached thousands of shares online.

It’s Showtime, reportedly being planned to replace Eat Bulaga on the noontime slot of GMA

Veteran columnist Cristy Fermin talked about the possibility of ‘Eat Bulaga’ being replaced by ‘It’s Showtime’ on the noontime slot of GMA Network.

It can be recalled that reports about the difficulties being faced by TAPE Inc. in maintaining their rating and their sponsors were circulating on social media.

According to Fermin, GMA Network and its CEO Felipe Gozon was smart enough to offer a slot to Its Showtime as a backup plan if ever that ‘Eat Bulaga’ kept facing issues.

Fermin believed that Gozon was already predicted that TAPE’s Eat Bulaga would end sooner than expected.

TAPE was also facing trademark issues as Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon were already moving to gain the rights for the title ‘Eat Bulaga.’

If ever the legendary trio won the case, TAPE would be forced not to use the ‘Eat Bulaga’ title anymore, which might badly affect the popularity of their show.

And as a businessman, Gozon knew how to make a backup plan.

“Magaling si Gozon na-foresee niya na hindi tatagal ang fake Bulaga kaya kinuha ang It’s Showtime to replace them eventually,” said Fermin.

“‘Yun ‘yung umiikot ngayon eh, na anytime ‘yun na talaga ang ipapalit na main noontime ng 7,” she added.

It can be recalled that some netizens already noticed the warm welcome of GMA Network for I’ts Showtime.

There were also rumours that TAPE Inc. was disappointed that GMA made a warm reception to their own competitor.

‘Pinoy Henyo’ at ‘Word of the Rings’ expected to clash soon on television

‘Pinoy Henyo’ and Eat Bulaga’s own version of the said segment, ‘Word of the Rings’, were expected to clash anytime soon on television.

It can be recalled that Eat Bulaga received criticisms on social media after they allegedly ‘copied’ the concept of Pinoy Henyo, claimed to be an invention of former writers of the longest-running noontime show, who also parted ways with TAPE Inc on May 31, 2023.

Netizens were surprised that despite the reports that Pinoy Henyo has been registered under TAPE Inc. in the Intellectual Property of the Philippines, TVJ still announced that they plan to revive the show.

According to the document, TAPE’s trademark rights in Pinoy Henyo would expire in 2032.

It can be recalled that Sotto claimed that ‘Pinoy Henyo’ and other popular segments of Eat Bulaga were owned by the writers who were currently working for them.

However, TAPE Inc. argued that the segments created by their former writers during their term as an employee were owned by the production company.

Observers questioned why TAPE Inc. decided not to revive the ‘Pinoy Henyo’ segment, and instead used the title ‘Word of the Rings’ if they really owned the trademark.

Netizens were now excited if TVJ would really revive the popular game under their new noontime show.

Solid Dabarkads! Kapuso Alden Richards watches TVJ’s ‘E.A.T’ on TV5

Alden Richards proved his loyalty to Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon by choosing to watch the legendary trio’s newest noontime show on TV5, despite being a talent of GMA Network.

In a photo shared by Sharon Cuneta, who also became one of the show’s special guests, she shared the picture by Alden to prove that the ‘Pambansang Bae’ watched the first episode of ‘E.A.T’.

“Cute my Alden yesterday. He was watching me daw. Miss you my son! I love you!” said Sharon.

It can be recalled that Sharon even mentioned Alden to his former love team, Maine Mendoza, during her guesting on E.A.T.

“Maine, congrats ha! Nag-shooting ako ngayon, may kasama ako. Yung anak kong bago, yung bago kong son, yung pangalan niya Alden,” the megastar said.

“Hi, Alden! Nandito si Maine.” she added.

Alden already expressed his support to his former colleagues by reportedly refusing the offer to stay on the ‘rebranded’ Eat Bulaga despite being an artist of GMA’s Sparkle agency.

However, some Sparkle talents, including Paolo Contis and Buboy Villar, accepted the same offer.

Fans believed that Alden’s refusal to become part of the rebranded Eat Bulaga was a wise move as he would not be seen as a ‘traitor’ by the televiewers.

Arnold Clavio, disappointed with the use of ‘stock footage’ for the ‘Love the Philippines’ commercial: “Nakakalungkot at nakakahiya”

Arnold Clavio couldn’t contain his disappointment while talking about the controversial discovery made by blogger Sass Rogando Sasot in the commercial made by an advertising agency for the ‘Love the Philippines’ campaign of the Department of Tourism (DOT).

It can be remembered that Sasot revealed that some of the footage used for the commercial was taken in other countries and not in the Philippines.

She discovered that some footage was taken in Indonesia, Thailand, Switzerland, and the United Arab Emirates.

In his Instagram post, Clavio described the situation as ’embarassing’.

Clavio believed that the issue would affect the image of the Philippines internationally.

He also urged the DOT to take action and put the people behind the campaign accountable for the embarrassment they gave to the country.

“Ito ay isang napakalaking iskandalo sa mata ng buong mundo at marapat lamang na si Tourism Sec. Cristina Frasco ay umaksyon laban sa DDB.” he stated.

“Makabubuti rin na i-blacklist na ang kumpanyang DDB Philippines sa lahat ng proyekto at programa ng gobyerno.

“Ginoong Pangulong Marcos , wala dapat na lugar sa administrasyon mo ang isang ‘ manloloko’.” he also said.
