Paolo Contis reacts to Kapuso celebrities who choose to guest on It’s Showtime, instead of Eat Bulaga

Eat Bulaga host Paolo Contis answered the netizens who were asking for his reaction to the decision of some GMA Network artists to appear on It’s Showtime instead of being a guest of the longest-running noontime show.

In an interview with Pep.ph, Paolo believed that being a guest of some artists on It’s Showtime was a ‘personal decision’ that anyone cannot control.

“Hindi mo masisisi yung mga ganun. Kasi siyempre, personal nilang desisyon yun,” said Paolo.

“Meron din sila siyempreng… hindi mo masasabi kung may takot, o merong personal na investment with others, di ba? You cannot take that against them. Basta kami, kung OK sa inyong mag-guest, bakit hindi, thank you. Kung hindi, e then we have to move on. We cannot take it against them. Ano naman yun, e… hindi kasi normal yung naging circumstance nung buong pangyayari. So, hindi mo sila masisisi,” he added.

It can be recalled that there were reports circulated how GMA Network treated It’s Showtime better than Eat Bulaga.

Veteran columnist Cristy Fermin even noticed, saying that GMA was ready to provide celebrity guests for It’s Showtime.

“Ang sama-sama ng loob ng mga taga-TAPE Incorporated kasi ‘yung mga artista ng GMA 7 na matagal na nilang iniimbita para lumabas sa kanilang programa kamuka’t muka’t mo nasa It’s Showtime nung Sabado,” said Fermin.

“Napakasakit nga naman nun. Sampal ng mag-asawa ‘yun,” she added.

Pura Luka Vega reveals that he’s teaching children before as profession

Pura Luka Vega revealed that he used to be an educator in the past before becoming a drag queen.

In his post, Pura made a comment about the current state of several classrooms in the country, including the lack of ‘visual aids’ to help students to learn.

According to him, he was spending his own money to decorate his classroom with visual aids.

“As a former teacher, I find it weird that classrooms are stripped off of visual aids, that will supposedly help students learn and spark their interest and imagination. ‘Yung periodic table ko nga dati, I have to print to cover an entire wall so students appreciate chemistry,” said Pura.

It can be recalled that Pura became controversial on social media because of his “Ama Namin” performance.

Because of his actions, Pura was currently facing charges from two different groups and also had been declared persona non grata in 11 places in the Philippines.

Despite the consequences of his performance, Pura refused to apologize and insisted that he was only expressing his ‘art’.

Pura said that he didn’t mean to mock the Catholic Church and he was even open to dialogs with different groups.

TAPE Inc. denies that they’re planning to transfer network after meeting with Mark Villar

Television and Production Exponents (TAPE) Inc. denied that they were planning to switch networks after one of its executives, Seth Jalosjos was spotted having a meeting with Sen. Mark Villar.

It can be recalled that Villar owned AllTV, which made the netizens assume that the production company of the Jalosjos family was considering switching networks.

According to Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque, lawyer of TAPE Inc, there’s no truth that the production company was switching to any networks, including AllTV.

She clarified that Camella, one of the companies owned by the Villars was one of the major sponsors of Eat Bulaga.

“This is absolutely false news. Camella of the Villars is a major sponsor of Eat Bulaga’s segment ‘May Pa-Key Kami Sayo’ wherein winners can win a house and lot. If you can see the original post, Bullet merely greeted Mark Villar on his bday. There is no basis for the speculation that said bday greeting will be tantamount to intention to transfer to All TV,” said Abraham-Garduque.

“Besides the article also said that Eat Bulaga has an existing block time agreement with GMA so there is no need and reason to transfer to another network,” she added.

Veteran journalist Jay Sonza was ordered to be released after several days of being behind bars for serious charges filed against him.

According to the decision released by the Quezon City Regional Trial Court, the people who filed syndicated and large-scale illegal recruitment against Sonza didn’t appear during the hearing.

The non-appearance of the private complainants against Sonza made the court to decide to withdraw the charges against Sonza.

“This is not the first time that they failed to appear. Upon motion of the accused, without objection on the part of the people, considering that with the non-appearance of private complainants, the guild of the accused could not be proved beyond a reasonable doubt, the instant case is hereby DISMISSED PROVISIONALLY with the express consent and conformity of accused,” the court decision read.

However, Sonza was still not free as he still needed to post bail for another charge he was facing.

He was expected to pay P10,000 for his temporary liberty next Friday.

It can be recalled that Sonza was one of the revered journalists in the country from the 80s to the 2000s.

He also hosted one of the most popular talk shows in the Philippines, ‘Mel and Jay’ together with Mel Tiangco who was still active as a broadcaster as of writing.

A group of Black Nazarene devotees had filed a case against Pura Luka Vega due to the drag queen’s controversial “Ama Namin” performance.

It’s not yet known if Pura can attend the hearing as he was also declared persona non grata in Manila City where the case had been filed.

Pura Luka Vega has been declared an undesirable visitor in one of the most populous cities in the Philippines.

On August 17, Cebu City joined the other places in the Philippines to declare the controversial drag queen as persona non grata due to his ‘Ama Namin’ performance.

In a report released by the Cebu City Council, Pura whose real name is Amadeus Fernando Pagenta deserved to be banned from visiting their place because of his disrespectful gesture towards the Roman Catholics.

“This August Body supports and values freedom of expression enshrined in the Constitution as an avenue in the valorization of human intellectual and artistic potentials… the limits of freedom must be recognized,” said Councilor Pastor “Jun” Alcover Jr.

“Respect towards others as well as professionalism are of highest importance to SEMPHIL. The disturbing incident is not a reflection of SEMPHIL employees’ values. Ariel Villasanta writes an open letter to Pura Luka Vega: ‘People don’t have to know you to judge you’

Comedian Ariel Villasanta addressed the statement made by drag queen Pura Luka Vega against the people who declared him persona non grata.

It can be recalled that Pura’s world was shrinking as he was being declared persona non grata in different places in the Philippines because of her controversial “Ama Namin” performance.

He’s now considered unwelcome to visit the following provinces: Manila City, Laguna, Cagayan de Oro City, Floridablanca, Nueva Ecija, San Pablo City, Toboso, General Santos City, and Bukidnon.

Pura responded to the declaration against him, saying that people were judging him already without knowing him.

However, Ariel who became popular with his tandem with Maverick Relova, said that people judged Pura by his actions.

“People don’t have to know you to judge you. You are judged by your actions. A judge does not have to know a criminal to make a judgment,” said Ariel. “Art is not an excuse for a disrespectful act. Try mong e-mock si Allah, malamang alla ka na din sa mundo,”

“E-mock mo na din si Satanas para persona non grata ka sa impierno! De ligtas ka diba!” he added.

Netizens praised Ariel for his message to Pura and some were hoping that the drag queen would apologize for his actions.
