Former Gilas Pilipinas head coach, Chot Reyes, couldn’t hide his happiness after the Philippine National Basketball team won against China in the last minute of their Asian Games match.

On October 4, Gilas Pilipinas’ player Justin Brownlee shocked the world after overturning the match by winning only a point against China during the game’s last moments.

Gilas won by 77-76 against China, which qualified the team for the gold medal match.

This was the first time since 1990 that the Philippine basketball team entered the finals for the Asian Games.

That’s why Chot was happy that his former team won.

“YES, YES, YES!!! GILAS wins (PH Flag Emoji)!!! Congrats, Coach Tim and the guys. Grabe ka, @magic_brown32! On to the Finals!!! (PH Flag Emoji)” Reyes said.

Meanwhile, some netizens reacted to Reyes’ post and even said that his coaching already bore fruit.

Some also said his decision to resign as Gilas’s coach contributed to the team’s win.

Reyes resigned as Gilas’s coach after the FIBA World Cup, saying he couldn’t handle the criticism.

“After a while, it was just too heavy. It has been too painful, too heavy. Just to be very honest, bastos naman talaga ‘yung ibang pinagsasabi. I don’t deserve it, my family doesn’t deserve it.” he said.

Amadeus Fernando Pagente, also known as Pura Luka Vega, talked to the press after being put under the custody of the authorities after he allegedly didn’t attend the preliminary investigation on the charges filed against him by Catholic Group ‘Hijos del Nazareno.’

In an interview, Pura said he didn’t receive any notice from the Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC), possibly because the subpoena was delivered to a different address.

“I did not receive the subpoena. When we went there, sa ibang address po siya naibigay,” said Pura.

Officials confirmed that Pura kept denying that he received any subpoena from the court.

They said that to catch Pura, they acted as delivery riders, and when the drag performer appeared, they quickly informed the latter about his rights.

Manila RTC set a P72,000 bail for the case.

Pura then insisted that he didn’t mean to mock the Catholic Church during his controversial ‘Ama Namin’ performance.

“I just want to create a narrative that despite all of these, Jesus, as the embodiment of God’s love for all, does not forget about the oppressed, including the LGBTQIA+ community,” he said.

However, he understood that some people were disappointed by his performance, and he was not invalidating it.

Joel Mondina, also known as Pambansang Kolokoy, swiped against his former partner Grace Mondina after the latter posted her reaction video to his interview with talent manager Ogie Diaz.

It can be recalled that Grace revealed many details about her relationship with Joel, including their scripted videos on social media, which she had been asking to be deleted.

Grace also alleged that Joel was not paying their bills during their relationship.

The content creator even accused Joel’s new partner, Sherrine Esguerra, of stalking her on social media.

Who would thought that a simple student from Surigao del Sur would become the leader of an alleged cult with thousands of members?

Jey Rence Quilario, also known as ‘Senior Agila,’ was facing criticism and possible charges after his group Socorro Bayanihan Services Inc. (SBSI) gained the public’s and officials’ attention for the alleged suspicious activities being performed by his members.

Quilario became a member of SBSI in 2017 and made a significant contribution to the group after he convinced hundreds of residents to leave their homes and start a new life at Sitio Kapihan after an earthquake.

He was endorsed as the group’s new leader in 2019, and many of their members believed that he was the reincarnation of Santo Nino and Jesus Christ.

None of his old friends would have thought that Quilario would drop his studies to become the leader of a big group that consisted of people who were older than him.

According to some of his former classmates, Quilario was known to be an excellent student and a jokester.

Some even showed old photos of Quilario to prove he was a simple teenager before becoming a ‘miraculous’ leader of SBSI.

The said photos went viral on social media, sparking a discussion about how SBSI changed Quilario.

Even some public officials who investigated Quilario believed the group controlled him.

However, until today, Quilario has yet to give any important information about the group.

Grace ‘Marites’ Mondina challenged her former partner Joel Mondina, also known as ‘Pambansang Kolokoy,’ to stop milking their past contents and move on.

Through her social media page, Grace said that if Joel really wanted to prove that he already moved on with their relationship, the latter should just delete their videos.

“Pambansang Kolokoy, prove to your followers you have moved on by taking down my videos with you from your channels. Thank you!”

It can be recalled that Grace said that all the content they created during their relationship was fake and scripted.

Grace also shared that she asked Joel many times to delete their video, but the content creator kept saying that he would lose income if he granted her wish.

“When you left, I told you I asked you to take down all my pictures, all of my videos from your social media platforms because you are making money out of me, out of those videos that we made,” said Grace.

“You threaten that if you don’t make money, you won’t be able to pay child support, so are you saying that CJ and I are helping you pay for child support, so we’re practically paying us, paying our own child support,” she added.

Pura Luka Vega was put under the custody of the Manila Police District (MPD) after the court issued a warrant against her.

According to Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 36, the drag queen, whose real name is Amadeus Fernando Pagente, allegedly didn’t attend the preliminary investigations related to the charges filed by the Catholic group ‘Hijos del Nazareno’ last August.

Pura was accused of Article 201 of the Revised Penal Code, which penalizes ‘Immoral doctrines, obscene publications and exhibitions, and indecent shows.’

Manila RTC set bail at P72,000 for the temporary freedom of Pura.

The authorities visited Pura in her house at the Sta. Cruz, Manila, where she was also declared persona non grata.

In a past post, Pura said that she never received a subpoena from Manila RTC and she was not even planning to evade the charges against her.

“I am still not in receipt of any notice regarding an alleged criminal case filed in Manila against me,” said Pura.

It can be recalled that Pura received criticism after she performed a remixed version of Catholic mass song ‘Ama Namin,’ while dressing up as Jesus Christ.

She insisted that she was not trying to disrespect the Catholic religion and said that what she did was only a way to express her art.

In her vlog, Grace said that she asked Joel to delete their videos on her social media page, but the latter pleaded, saying that he could not earn money if he decided to delete their content.

Grace even proved that Joel was not standing alone by showing an email she received from her former partner asking her to cover his eye checkup.

She even revealed that Joel was not contributing to their monthly bills while living together.

The content creator even said that Joel asked her to let his new family stay at her house.

“You stayed, you lived at my house for free, you didn’t pay for mortgage, bills, groceries, anything… You didn’t pay for anything, and the whole time, I didn’t know that you were cheating on me,” she said.
