Korina Sanchez-Roxas couldn’t hide her anger towards a netizen who compared her husband, former Interior secretary Mar Roxas to former United States President Barack Obama.
Sanchez-Roxas posted a photo of her husband together with their twins Pepe and Pilar.
“For those wondering where Pappi is… Siya naman ngayon ang naka quarantine from me and the kids. He had to care for his mom in the hospital for a while. So now pabisi-bisita sya but can’t get in direct contact with any of us. It’s hard. This pandemic life with babies. At least one of us is always with the kids. His mom is fine. But it’ll take a bit before they swab and then tsaka palang pwedeng lumapit sa amin. The kids are longing to hug their Pappi. Best be safe than sorry, right?” Sanchez wrote.

The school where the teacher who posted an edited photo of President Rodrigo Duterte already released a statement.
On Tuesday, Maryhill College, Incorporated in Lucena City said that they “deeply regret” the actions of their senior high school teacher Laarni Villaluz.
According to the said Catholic school, they’re not going to tolerate any actions like what Villaluz did on social media.
They also pointed out that as a school that following the teachings of the Catholic Church, they’re doing their best to instill moral values to their employees and also to their students.
“We deeply regret the recent incident being attributed to one of our school teachers relatively to an online post that has gone viral depicting the President of the Republic of the Philippines in a disrespectful and distasteful manner. The Maryhill College, Inc. does not and will not countenance any act – contrary to law, morals or public policy – by any of its personnel,” the statement read.
“As a Catholic Marian Institution, we reiterate our school’s commitment to promote and uphole our core values – particularly the practice of the Marian virtues such as humility, charity, and respect for persons. In line with the Catholic Church’s teachings, we work relentlessly to inculcate among our employees and students the value of conducting their daily affairs with integrity and in accordance with Christian moral principles,” they added.
Maryhill informed the netizens that they already made an administrative action against Villaluz who already apologized yesterday for the incident.
During the height of criticisms, many netizens urged the school to fire Villaluz, however Maryhill didn’t elaborate on the actions they made.
Villaluz already asked the netizens for forgiveness.
The Department of Education (DepEd) and the Professional Regulatory Commission have yet to comment on the issue.
A radio host explained why President Rodrigo Duterte decided to kiss the bombing site in Jolo, Sulu during his visit last Sunday.
The photo has gone viral on social media but many netizens were still not aware of why Duterte made such a gesture.
Some critics even mocked the action of Duterte like the licensed teacher who edited the said photo to make him look like eating dog food.

According to radio host Mark Lopez, the President did a “gesture known to Muslims as Sujood or Sujod or Pagtitirapa.”
“This is an act of prostration where one bows down completely with the forehead touching the ground, signifying utmost humility, respect, and reverence, and acknowledging the power and greatness of a more supreme being,” said Lopez.
Lopez said that it’s also Duterte’s way of saying that he’s ready to give justice to the victims.
He then questioned why some critics of the President still insisted that the gesture of Duterte was only made to promote himself.
“He did the act spontaneously, because that is the hallmark of a true leader with authentic malasakit. Of course, it will be expected that the yellow-red-oligarch-elitists-wokininams will try to dismiss or downplay this as a publicity stunt. Seriously? You go to a war-torn, dangerous and besieged territory just to create publicity?” Lopez stated.
“You mean you are in denial that a cowardly act of terrrorism took place in that area, which took the lives of soldiers and innocents, and severely maimed and injured others while also destroying property and livelihood?” he added.
The radio host said that Duterte was risking his own life because he wanted to show that he’s ready to help the family of the victims and the community to destroy the people behind the incident.
“Most important of all, he went there to personally emphatize, grieve, and assure his troops that he is there with the all-out support of government. You don’t do this just for the sake of propaganda, when there is too much at stake. This is an authentic act of courage. You do this because you really care. And that my dear fellow Filipinos, is our President,” he said.
The post of Lopez reached 12,000 reactions on social media.
During his speech before the troops in Jolo, Duterte said that he kissed the ground as a sign of respect.
“Kaya ako lumuhod, hinalikan ko yung lupa, kasi hindi man lang nakapagtawag ng Allah, o nakapag sign of the cross before dying,” Duterte said.
One of the Facebook pages of the school where the teacher who posted an edited photo of President Rodrigo Duterte is working posted a cryptic message.
On Tuesday, one of the pages of Maryhill College in Lucena City posted a short message amid the criticisms being received by one of their teachers Laarnie Villaluz.
“NO TO FASCISM,” the page said.
It’s not yet known if the said page was the official business page of the said school.
The said page got 7,990 followers and 30,810 check-ins.
Several netizens also threw their support to the teacher and criticized the Duterte administration.
“I am for the school that stands for truth.I am for the school that is not afraid to speak up.I am for the school that values life and human rights.I am for the school that allows its teachers to speak their mind,” Eric Isles said.
“Good job Maryhill for calling it what it is! It takes courage and honesty to speak the truth to power. Maryhill, All Hail!” Deo Prieto commented.
“GO MARYHILL COLLEGE ? SANA ALL KATULAD NG MARYHILL,” Joel Boncay remarked.

However, some netizens, including an employee of Maryhill College didn’t like what the said Facebook page said.
“This page is not under the supervision of Maryhill College. Kindly delete this post,” Michael Mcvey-Hally commented.
Jude Cetaph remarked.
“Now I blame the Institution that tolerate such manners,” Bradziz Suenan commented.
Even the school where senior high teacher Laarni Villaluz couldn’t escape the wrath of the netizens because of what their worker did.
It can be remembered that Villaluz is the licensed teacher who posted an edited photo of President Rodrigo Duterte while paying respect to the victims of Jolo b0mbings.
The edited photo made President Duterte look like eating a branded dog food.
Netizens discovered that Villaluz was working in a private school in Lucena City.
Most of them were disappointed because Villaluz was supposed to give a higher standard of learning to her students because she’s working in a private school.
Here are some of the comments of the netizens:
“We will wait for your statement on what sanctions you will impose on Laarni Villaluz. This is beyond politics. She disrespected the terr0rist victims which were the recipient of the President’s gesture of love and respect!” Ron De Guzman commented.
“What kind of values your school is going to impart your students if you have in your employ mentors such as this Laarni Villaluz. She disrespected not only the President but also our Muslim brothers. You ought to do something about this,” Maria StaCruz remarked.
“How come your teacher doesn’t seem to know the ethics and values of your school? This is a big question to the good reputation of your school tainted with a garbage behaviour of a member of your staff,” Fely Crospy stated.
“#FireLaarnieVillaluz,” Mikel Haganos wrote.
As of writing, the said school has yet to give any statement on what kind of action would they do to Villaluz.
Villaluz already apologized to the netizens for her actions and admitted that her post disrespected the President.
However, some netizens, including a teacher based in Taiwan wanted the teaching license of Villaluz to be revoked.
I’m a graduate of Bachelor of Secondary Education, Major in Social Science.
“Sino po may voucher from Pedigree? Baka po pwede makahingi. New user,” ani Villaluz.
“First of, I want to apologize to our President for inappropriately posting the said meme in a specific group. I am humbly asking for your acceptance of my apology, Mr. President. I know this has caused too much and too bad. This was literally a hundred percent sign of disrespect. I am really sorry po,” saad ni Villaluz.
The teacher who received thousands of criticisms on social media after she posted an edited photo of President Rodrigo Duterte’s visit in Jolo was reportedly made an open letter to the netizens.
It can be remembered that the photo of President Duterte while kissing the area where the Jolo b0mbing happened became popular on social media.
A Facebook account who introduced herself as the said Senior High School teacher apologized to the President, to her family, workmates, and friends who got affected by her post.
She admitted that the edited “meme” photo that made the President look like eating dog food was disrespectful.
Villaluz also addressed the DepEd community for what she posted.
The teacher then asked the netizens not to criticize her family, friends, and workplace.
She claimed that she couldn’t access her original social media account anymore.
Here’s the full open letter of Villaluz:
Hello po. Allow me to express myself.

A licensed teacher is in hotwater after she posted an edited photo of President Rodrigo Duterte while paying respect to the victims of Jolo b0mbings.
On Monday, Laarni Villaluz has gone viral on social media after she posted the said photo that was edited to make it look like the President is eating a dog food.
“Sino po may voucher from Pedigree? Baka po pwede makahingi. New user,” Villaluz said who’s referring to a branded dog food.
Unfortunately for Villaluz, the photo she posted raised thousands of eyebrows on social media and now she’s being criticized for what she did.
Netizen Marize Anzia was one of the netizens who called out Villaluz for her actions, saying that her post was very disrespectful both to the President and to her profession as a teacher.
“We all know that we do not have the best government nor the best president. But doing this kind of shit post is very unrespectful. Nakakalungkot. Naturingang edukado pero walang respeto,” said Anzia.
“DDS man o Hindi. Please stop,” she added.
Blogger Tio Moreno also made his comment on Villaluz’s action, saying that her degree would not hide her true behavior.
“DEGREE IS JUST A PIECE OF PAPER. REAL EDUCATION IS SEEN IN BEHAVIOR. To the Licensed Professional Teacher and Registered Criminologist—- Laarni Villaluz Mas malinis pa budhi ng baboy namin sayo. I hope you’ll be designated to Jolo, just in case you’re practicing your professions,” Moreno wrote.
After receiving thousands of criticisms, Villaluz decided to delete her post and apologized for what she did.
“Ms. Laarni Villaluz and his BF messaged me about sa post ko. They were apologizing about sa act na nangyari. Its just that it is very below the belt kasi. Hindi ko rin inakala na magtetrend ng ganon in just a few hours. Me neither is not okay sa Pres at sa ating govt. Mahirap mag aral at mag trabaho. I guess lesson learned sa ating lahat ito,” Anzia said.
We are trying to get a comment from the Department of Education (DepEd), but they have yet to respond to our message.
Kapamilya journalist Ted Failon was reportedly transferring to TV5 after he decided to leave ABS-CBN.
In a report by Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) Failon already got permission to transfer network and bringing his show “Failon Ngayon” together with his other staff to TV5.
Failon is also possible to grab his long time partner DJ Chacha to his upcoming radio show.
According to sources, Failon’s morning radio show in Radyo 92.3 NEWS FM would also be aired in TV5.
The veteran journalist who worked at ABS-CBN for a total of 30 years announced his decision to leave ABS-CBN.
He’s going to make his final appearance on TV Patrol on August 31.
ABS-CBN said that the decision of the congress to reject the franchise renewal of their network was the reason why Failon decided to leave.
They’re respecting Failon’s decision to leave and thanked him for his three decades of service to the station.
