Darna vs Darna! Angel Locsin calls Jane De Leon’s excuse as ‘digusting’: “No one asked you to go to a rally”

Angel Locsin reacted to the statement of the upcoming “Darna” Jane De Leon who said that she refused to go attend rallies in support of ABS-CBN because of the pandemic.

In a story, Locsin who didn’t mention the name of De Leon called the “excuse” of the latter as “purely disgusting”.

Locsin who became Darna 15 years ago also said that no one asked De Leon to join rallies.

“No one asked you to go to a rally. Obviously, you don’t need to go out to use your voice for the voiceless,” said Locsin.

“But making up an excuse to save face at the expense of those who are fighting for their lives is purely disgusting,” she added.

Yesterday, De Leon released a lengthy statement to explain her absence on rallies.

“Masakit po sa akin ang nangyari sa ABS-CBN dahil pangalawang tahanan ko na rin po ito na syang nagbigay sa akin ng mga opportunities to gradually reach my goals in life, na unti-unting nagpabago sa buhay ko at ng aking pamilya. And I will forever be thankful sa ABS-CBN and its management,” De Leon said.

“My support to the current crisis that the network is facing right now is not just measured by going out in the streets in this time of the pandemic,” she added.

The young actress then proceeded on reminding the people about the challenges being faced by the frontliners because of the pandemic.

Mass gatherings like rallies were strongly discouraged by the government to prevent the transmission of the virus.

“However, let us not forget that in the bigger picture, we are still at risk because we all have an invisible enemy to deal with. Our health and that of our loved ones are at stake. As the COVID infection rate in our country continues to rise, hospitals and facilities are nearing, if not reached, full capacity,” she said.

“Let’s not forget that our Frontliners continue to face life and death situation as they are being challenged in saving more lives. Dadagdag pa ba tayo sa lumolobong bilang at patuloy na pagtaas ng COVID cases sa bansa?” she added

Natuto na si Vice! Pastor Apollo Quiboloy offers peace to Vice Ganda: “Mahirap mawalan din ng trabaho”

Kingdom of Jesus Christ founder Pastor Apollo Quiboloy said that he won’t continue his feud with Jose Mari Viceral popularly known as Vice Ganda anymore after Congress closed the network of the comedian completely.

In an interview, Quiboloy said that he’s not interested in clashing with Viceral because he believed that the comedian already learned his ‘lessons’ because of the ABS-CBN shutdown.

“Ngayon na nandiyan sila sa sitwasyon na ganyan, wag na nating ipagdiinan sila, ang dapat nating gawin ay idalanganin si Vice Ganda at kanyang mga kasamahan, alam niyo mahirap din mawalan ng trabaho,” Quiboloy said.

Quiboloy pointed out that ABS-CBN already faced the Congress and forced to shut down to follow the law.

Last year, Viceral made fun of Quiboloy after the pastor claimed that he stopped an earthquake in Mindanao.

“Nako, kabahan si Cardo! Ang pinakakalaban ni Cardo, ang feeling ko, si Quiboloy. ‘Yung nagpahinto ng lindol. Si Quiboloy lang ang magpapahinto ng ‘Ang Probinsyano,’ abangan niyo ‘yan,” Viceral said.

“So ano, Quiboloy, hinahamon kita, ipahinto mo nga ang ‘Probinsyano!’ Napahinto mo pala ang lindol, e, sabi niya daw, stop! Sige nga, punta ka sa gitna ng EDSA, stop mo ‘yung traffic d’un! Iba ka Quiboloy!” Vice added.

As a response, Quiboloy warned Viceral to be careful of what he wished, because it might come true.

“Ikaw, mamili ka, kelan mo ba gustong ma stop Ang Probinsiyano? Isang buwan? dalawang buwan? tatlong buwan? apat na buwan? Ikaw, pili ka. Baka sa apat na buwan di lang yung Probinsyano ang ma stop, baka pati yung network mo stop na yan,” Quiboloy said.

Last May, Quiboloy described what’s happening to Vice as ‘karma’.

“Ngayon, naniniwala ka na, karma is real. O, bumalik sa ‘yo, di ba, at ngayon, umiiyak ka. O, bakit hindi kayo humahalakhak?” he asked.

Eight months after Quiboloy accepted the challenge from Viceral, the House of Representatives rejected the franchise application of ABS-CBN, forcing them to shut down their operations.

Ganda who heard the decision of the Congress against ABS-CBN left speechless for a moment when interviewed about his reaction to Kapamilya network franchise rejection.

“Kailangan ko lang prosesohin ang naramdaman ko, kasi ngayon ko lang nalaman yung desisyon. So, magulo pa yung nararamdaman ko. Hindi ko alam. Para akong nanginginig na hindi ko alam. Ang alam ko, malungkot na malungkot ako ngayon,” Viceral said.

Frankie Pangilinan says her father Kiko is the defender of constitution and protector of rights

Frankie Pangilinan defended her father Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan from the alleged plans pushing to oust the latter as the chairman of the constitutional committee of the senate.

In a series of Twitter posts, Frankie who’s using her other account claimed that a group from Facebook wanted to oust her father who’s also the President of the Liberal Party in the constitutional amendments committee to revise the 1987 constitution.

Frankie claimed that she’s being “watched” so she decided to use her other public account to reveal the move against her father.

“Currently the FB boomers have this movement where they want to oust my dad as the chairman of the constitutional committee in order to make constitutional changes, allegedly in order to address the COVID crisis. My dad is defending our constitution,” said Frankie.

She sought help to spread the news, saying that her father was the protector of the constitution and rights of the Filipinos.

“This admin can’t touch the constitution for as long as my dad is guarding it. They cannot remove term limits (extend terms), without removing him,” Frankie said.

The group Frankie might be referring to the #OustKiko movement launched by the CoRRECT Movement.

CoRRECT which founded in 2011 was pushing for “Constitutional Reform & Rectification for Economic Competitiveness & Transformation”.

In one of their Facebook post, they urged the Senate of the Philippines to remove Pangilinan from the constitutional committee.

In their post, the group said that:

“Constitutional Reforms are the MOST URGENT resolutions needed to solve our COVID-19 economic crisis!”

“1) Openness to Foreign Investors for a chance at more jobs & higher wages!
2) Federalism for a chance at regional development & a richer countryside!
3) Parliamentary System for a chance at better governance & lower corruption!

“Kiko has done nothing to fix the flaws of the 1987 Constitution that keeps our country poor!”

They also claimed that Pangilinan is ‘sabotaging’ all the efforts to fix the constitution.

CoRRECT also challenged Frankie and her father into a debate via Zoom.

Frankie became popular on social media after she clashed with Ben Tulfo.

Even her mother, Sharon Cuneta already became vocal to defend Frankie who received criticisms from the supporters of the government.

Upcoming “Darna” Jane De Leon brilliantly explains why she didn’t join ABS-CBN rallies: “let us not forget that we are still at risk”

The upcoming “Darna” star explained why she didn’t join the rallies in support of ABS-CBN unlike celebrities like Angel Locsin.

In an Instagram post, Jane De Leon (imjanedeleon) said that while she’s also affected by what’s currently happening in ABS-CBN, she also believed that someone’s support to the Kapamilya network couldn’t be measured by just going to rallies.

She then proceeded on reminding the people that the Philippines is currently facing a pandemic and she’s thinking of the frontliners having a hard time managing the crisis.

Dadagdag pa ba tayo sa lumolobong bilang at patuloy na pagtaas ng COVID cases sa bansa?” she added.

De Leon said that people could still show support to Kapamilya network without joining rallies.

“Masama po bang maging positibo lang sa ating pananaw sa kabila ng kahirapan at paghihinagpis? I don’t believe that its fair to stop doing things you ought to be doing everyday just because of the negative situations around us. Even if the world stops, we still have to keep moving forward,” De Leon said, “Wag po sanang mangibabaw ang galit sa ating puso, bagkus ay pairalin parin natin ang respeto sa isa’t isa at umasang malalampasan din natin lahat ito,”

She said that ‘prayers are always the strongest and most powerful weapon’ that people could use amid the crisis.

Some ABS-CBN fans were disappointed with De Leon’s statement.

“Arte mo.. hindi kapa nakalipad , bagsak kana agad!” netizen thata_luvs said.

“Wala kang kwentang talent pahamig lang ang guzt0 mu,. wala na ung c0mpany ng pinagtratrabahuan mu, tas pur0 pa cute ka lang,. wala kang malasakit at pakikiisa,” netizen Jhay Gallart remarked.

De Leon made the said statement a few days after Angel Locsin who also became Darna criticized celebrities silent on what’s happening on Kapamilya Network.

“Sa mga kapwa kong artistang hindi nagsasalita, may career pa ba kayo? Wala na kayong network!” Locsin said.

“Kahit magpa-cute kayo diyan sa Instagram, nagsend kayo ng mga sad face, hindi n’yo nadadamayan ang mga katrabaho n’yo na dahilan kung bakit kayo sumikat!” she added.

As of writing, there are already reportedly 68,989 total cases of COVID-19 in the country.

Apply na! Manuel V. Pangilinan says ABS-CBN talents are welcome to join TV5

ABS-CBN talents may not worry too much about where to find a job after the House of Representatives rejected the franchise application of their network.

In an article by Philippine Star, business tycoon Manual V. Pangilinan revealed that they’re preparing to expand their entertainment content by hiring more talents in TV5 Network Inc.

Coincidentally, thousands of ABS-CBN employees were on the brink of losing their current jobs because of the decision of Congress.

“We are revving up our entertainment content creation and will need creatives, talents, directors, scriptwriters, cameramen, etc.,” said Pangilinan.

“If these are willing and able to work with us, we’re prepared to offer alternative jobs for the relevant displaced workers overtime,” he added.

Pangilinan also clarified that they’re not talking with ABS-CBN officials.

Last year, Pangilinan allegedly said that he’s open to letting ABS-CBN air their block timers in TV5 while they’re waiting for a new franchise.

“We have lots of highways…Setting politics aside, if they want to enter into a block time deal, wala naman kaming masyadong entertainment content,” said Pangilinan last December.

However, Pangilinan denied that they’re talking with ABS-CBN about the possibility of airing Kapamilya shows in TV5.

“There has never been any discussion in that regard. It’s something that’s not on our minds,” Pangilinan said

ABS-CBN claimed that there were 11,000 employees that could be affected by their shutdown.

Kapamilya network announced that they’re going to start to layoff their workers on August 31.

One of the most popular employees affected by the first layoff was Ces Oreña-Drilon who’s working at ABS-CBN since 1989.

Former ABS-CBN newscaster says he can’t blame Angel Locsin’s reaction on Kapamilya network shutdown: “Hindi birong halaga iyong nasunog na stocks”

A former ABS-CBN newscaster said that he understood why Angel Locsin was vocal on the franchise application rejection of Kapamilya network, citing that she’s one of the top stockholders of the said broadcasting company.

In a Facebook post, Jay Sonza said that the stocks owned by Locsin could be exchanged to a big amount of money.

“I can’t blame Angel Locsin (No. 29 top stockholder) and others for behaving as such. Hindi birong halaga iyong nasunog na stocks na binili nila mula sa kanilang pinaghirapan,” said Sonza.

The journalist then narrated his experience in buying and selling stocks, saying that if he already profited 30% or more, he would let go of it.

Top 100 Shareholders of ABS-CBN as of July 15,2020 according to pse.com.ph

“Kayo ako hanggang IPO o initial public offering lang ang laro ko sa stock market noon. Kapag kumita na na ng 30% or more, largada na kaagad. Halimbawa, binili mo ng piso bawat share, kapag tumubo ka ng 30 sentimos o dumoble na, benta na kaagad. Sugal din kasi iyan,” he said.

Pang retirement din iyon,” he also said.

In another post, Sonza gave a possible explanation on the stocks of Locsin, saying that the actress may be a dummy of bigger businessmen, or she got it from Employees Stock Option Plan (ESOP).

“I imagined these are her investments vis-a-vis (equivalent to signing bonus) her paid guaranteed 5-year talent contract with the network via the Employees Stock Option Plan or ESOP,” Sonza said.

“That is how we did it during my time with the Company. Iyong TF ko for Mel & Jay converted to stocks. Iyong salary ko as news director, announcer and producer, kinukobra ko tuwing pay day. Except that I was able to unload 90% of my stocks before I was constructively dismissed and eventually forced to resigned. In other words, walang lumabas na pera mula sa kanyang sariling carta mujeda,” she added.

Locsin already clarified in her past social media posts that she doesn’t own the stocks yet as she’s still paying for it.

“Mine is payable for 5 years. Wala pa po sa half ang nabayad ko kaya sa understanding ko, HINDI PA PO PAGMAMAY-ARI ANG STOCKS na yun,” Locsin said.

She vowed to donate her stocks if gained profit.

The actress was questioned on social media on Sunday after she claimed that she doesn’t own any stocks in ABS-CBN.

“Wala akong shares sa ABS-CBN, wala akong kontrata pero itong mga taong ‘to sila yung’ nagbigay ng trabaho sa akin, sila yung tumulong sa akin nung walang-wala ang pamilya ko,” Locsin said.

The original post featuring Locsin’s statement was deleted.

Toni Gonzaga reminds government after ABS-CBN franchise ejection: “You may have the power now but it will not be forever”

Toni Gonzaga made a statement for the first time about the ABS-CBN franchise issue, reminding the politicians that they’re not in power forever.

In a lengthy Instagram post, Gonzaga said that she was hurt to read messages of employees bidding farewell to their colleague because they’re included in the layoff list of ABS-CBN.

She then reminded the people in power that the workers ABS-CBN would not forget the decision rejecting the franchise application of the Kapamilya network.

“Everyday ang sakit mag bukas ng viber dahil nagpapaalam na lahat ng mga katrabaho namin samin. Sa lahat ng nasa posisyon ngayon, hindi namin makakalimutan ang ginawa nyo sa mga trabahador ng ABSCBN,” said Gonzaga.

“You may have the power now but it will not be forever. I believe that no matter who the president is, JESUS is still KING and He is the name above ALL names,” she added.

Gonzaga then dedicated a prayer to the people affected by ABS-CBN shutdown, hoping that they’re going to survive the issue and rise up.

“We will continue to keep our faith in Christ that He will sustain us during these trying times. Just like the positions of the people in power today, what we are going through will not last forever. Troubles come to pass, they don’t stay. Jesus said, when you go through deep waters I will be with you. One day He wipe these tears away and replace it with JOY beyond compare. Babangon tayong lahat muli,” Gonzaga said.

70 lawmakers of the House of Representatives rejected the franchise application of ABS-CBN.

The Palace denied that President Rodrigo Duterte pushed to close down the Kapamilya network despite his statements against the broadcasting company.

Currently, employees and supporters of ABS-CBN like Angel Locsin resorted to organizing rallies and noise barrage to express their disappointment to the government.

Nagtuos na! Angel Locsin and GMA-7 writer Suzette Doctolero clash on ABS-CBN issue: “May brain ka. Use it!”

The feud between the actress and ABS-CBN stockholder Angel Locsin and GMA-7 prominent writer Suzette Doctolero reached its peak after the two finally confronted each other on social media.

On Sunday, Locsin’s fiancé Neil Arce reacted to Doctolero’s criticisms against Locsin who thanked ABS-CBN for helping her when she had nothing.

“She was talking about the employees the staff the directors creatives Producers PA’s. Film and entertainment industry po Hindi Ito network war. Wag makisawsaw,” said Arce without naming Doctolero to his post.

Doctolero then responded to Arce’s post which resulted in a lengthy debate between them about ABS-CBN shutdown and Locsin’s stocks.

Arce then accused Doctolero of trying to spark a network war between ABS-CBN and GMA-7.

“That is what we believe in Po. It is our right. My problem is you saying it’s against GMA when she respects GMA. Gumagawa ka ng away habang Nandito kami pinaglalaban ang industriya. That is my problem,” Arce told Doctolero.

Locsin then reacted on the debate between Arce and Doctolero, telling her fiancé to ignore the writer.

“Wag mo nang patulan. people might think na this is just a battle bet networks & not the whole film & TV industry. That’s just one sad opinion of an artist na walang pakielam sa kapwa kasi comfortable sya sa ngayon. I Red heart GMA ppl. 1 tao lang naman ang bad sakin dun pero wala na now,” Locsin said.

Doctolero then responded, saying that she’s calling out the statement of Locsin during the rally yesterday.

“Kina call out ko ang statement mo, u think ull win a war sa mga patutsada mo? Sa kapwa mo artista? Sa gma? At now sa akin?” Doctolero stated.

As a response, Locsin clarified that she’s not planning to say something bad against GMA-7 because she appreciated how Kapuso network helped her in the past.

She also urged Doctolero to use her voice to help the people in the show business instead of criticizing artists like her.

“Kayo lang po ito. Hindi po ang GMA kaya wag nyo pong idamay. Wala po akong sasabihing hindi maganda sa gma at malaki ang utang na loob ko sa network. Kayo lang po ang kausap ko 🙂 and please use your voice para makatulong sa kapwa mo sa industriya. Kelangan ka namin,” Locsin said.

Doctolero then clarified that she supported the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN.

Despite the efforts of Locsin to pacify Arce, her fiancé still continued to clash with Doctolero.

screen captured from @neil_arce Twitter page

As of writing, Doctolero is still clashing with Locsin’s supporters, including DJ Chacha who recently lost her job because of ABS-CBN franchise rejection.

Yesterday, Locsin made the statement that raised the eyebrows of Doctolero.

“Wala akong shares sa ABS-CBN, wala akong kontrata pero itong mga taong ‘to sila yung’ nagbigay ng trabaho sa akin, sila yung tumulong sa akin nung walang-wala ang pamilya ko,” Locsin said.

Doctolero denied the claims of Locsin, saying that she left GMA-7 with a good financial situation.

“We know at ng BIR na di ka patay gutom nung lumipat ka sa kabila, teh. But go, tuloy ang laban, gurl. Wag lang oa sa mga statement. Sa truth lang tayo, yes! Btw, ginawa ka naming Darna. Im glad na until now ay nakakabit sa iyo ang pagiging superhero.. kaya sana konting lingon naman ng konti sa pinanggalingan at huwag magsisinungaling ha? Ang totoong hero ay may integredad at di liar, di ba?” Doctolero said.
