Cristy Fermin compares Hope Soberano to Kathryn Bernardo: “Napakalayo, ang layo layo!”

Veteran columnist Cristy Fermin was not yet done talking about Liza Soberano, now known as ‘Hope’ after her rebranding.

In her online program on March 5, Fermin couldn’t stop herself from comparing Soberano to another big star of ABS-CBN, Kathryn Bernardo.

Fermin and her co-hosts, Rommel Chika and Wendell Alvarez, praised Bernardo’s attitude.

According to her, Soberano was already left behind compared to Bernardo and Nadine Lustre.

She also said that the controversial actress didn’t reach the popularity of Bernardo.

It can be recalled that Fermin made criticisms against Soberano for being ‘ungrateful’ after claiming that her career in the Philippines was restricted.

“Nakakaloka.

Arjo Atayde, receives criticisms from some netizens after admitting having 37 vehicles

Quezon City 1st District Rep. Arjo Atayde received criticisms from netizens after he revealed the number of vehicles he owned.

In a statement, Atayde said he would help the commuters in his city who might be affected by the nationwide ‘tigil-pasada’ by lending his 37 vehicles.

“In my own little way, I am willing to help my district and nearby areas here in QC by providing our own vehicles to help the commuters, especially our medical frontliners,” Atayde said in a statement.

However, Atayde received negative reactions from the netizens, questioning why a public official like him possessed too many vehicles.

Arjo Atayde is a public servant and by lending his cars, he is completely missing the point of a transport strike.” netizen @renzdelaluna remarked.

“Beh yung 37 vehicles mo nalang yung iphase out, wag na mga jeep,” netizen @kaimeanschicken commented.

Meanwhile, several fans of Atayde defended the official, saying that he could afford the said vehicles because he was an actor before.

After receiving criticisms, the camp of Atayde clarified that the vehicles that the official lent were service vehicles he had already donated to the LGU of QC in 2021.

Juan Ponce Enrile wants to suspend the franchise of the operators who will join the rally: “They are a jury of public service”

Former Senate President and current chief presidential legal counsel Juan Ponce Enrile suggested that the government may remove the franchise of all operators participating in the nationwide ‘tigil-pasada’ on March 6 to 12.

According to him, the public utility vehicle (PUV) crossed the line when they decided to stop serving the people for one week to oppose the implementation of the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program.

He said that if he were in authority, he would give a hard lesson to the operators.

“They are a jury of public service. Kung ako ang may kapangyarihan, let them strike but I will cancel all their franchises. No more, you cannot engage in that trade,” Enrile said.

The veteran politician also said that he would cancel the license of the drivers who would participate in the rally.

“Bawiin ang kanilang lisensiya at maghanap sila ng bagong trabaho,” he stated.

Enrile explained that the government should protect the public from the inconvenience being brought by the drivers and operators who would join weeklong rally.

“Government must stand-up to protect the people. Sino ang mapeperwisyo kapag nag-strike sila. Is that their right?

“Tinawag akong adik kasi nag one-time use ako,” ani Aguilar.

Keanna Reeves claims that some artists are accepting ‘booking’: “The more kasi may pangalan, the more umaakyat ang presyo”

Comedian Keanna Reeves made a massive revelation against some celebrities on showbusiness who were doing ‘sideline’ to earn more money or to gain influence.

In an interview with Philippine Entertainment Portal, Keanna said that some artists made money from accepting ‘booking’ that may be related to being an escort.

According to her, the price to hire artists depends on the celebrity’s popularity.

“The more kasi may pangalan, the more umaakyat ang presyo. Market value, ganun. Kasi, di ba, iba kasi ang dating pag nasa showbiz ka, kung nagpepelikula ka o nakasama mo ang mga artista or belong ka na sa showbiz, tumataas din ang market value mo.” she said.

“Either indecent proposal man yan o mga raket-raket sa commercial or endorsement, ganun na, given na yun.” she added.

She also claimed that even if the artist were good-looking, their price would not increase if they were not famous enough.

“Pag wala ka pang pangalan, kahit gaano ka kaguwapo, kahit gaano ka kaganda, mababa talaga ang market mo kumpara sa nakita na sa TV.” the comedian said.

Some artists also accepted ‘booking’ to advance their career in showbiz.

“Matagal nang lakaran yan, e! Dati pa yan. Ngayon, talamak na yan. Kasi hindi na sila nahihiya, e. Parang open na sa kanila na… na parang proud pa sila pag may presyo sila.” she said.

Parang ganun. Parang in demand sila. “So dati, tago. They don’t care. Parang practical way. Parang ganun.” she also said.

Aside from Keanna, veteran journalist Jay Sonza hinted that some artists accepted booking services.

Comedian Allan K expressed his opposition to the new leadership of the Miss Universe Organization.

In his tweet, the comedian, who’s also a pageant enthusiast, couldn’t hide his disappointment at how Thai billionaire Anne Jakrajutatip handled the Miss Universe 2020.

For the first time in several years, the contestant of the Philippines failed to enter the top 16 of the competition.

Iba ang pananaw nila,” Allan said.

He even took a swipe against Jakrajutatip, who made an emotional speech during the pageant.

“May paspeech? Galit sa mundo,” he said.

It can be recalled that Allan was not the only one who criticized Jakrajutatip.

Some netizens accused the billionaire of trying to take the spotlight on the pageant candidates and even using the said show to promote herself.

“Not the proper forum she’s out of order,” netizen @beatara said.

Meanwhile, some try to convince the comedian to give the billionaire a chance to handle the most prestigious beauty pageant in the world.

“This new org po is looking for a transformational leader. Those top 16, by watching on their taped interview, halos karamihan ay deserve. Girls are already working on their respective charity or NGOs prior to their pageants.” netizen @angelieharold21 commented.

Netizen shares complaint, claiming that he was outsmarted by a homeless man he thought pretending to be a vlogger

A netizen aired his complaint on social media, claiming that a homeless man outsmarted him during their meeting.

In a Facebook post, netizen Yopop LD Jhenny Dampil called out the homeless man who asked for his money.

He thought the man was a vlogger that only pretended to be homeless and waiting for a good samaritan to help him, so he gave all his money to the latter.

The post of the netizen received hundreds of reactions on social media.

Meanwhile, some netizens questioned if the story of Dampil was real because, according to his profile, he identified himself as a ‘comedian.’

Despite the questions on the authenticity of Dampil’s story, some netizens still learned a lesson not to expect rewards from helping others.

It can be recalled that several vloggers made content pretending to be homeless so they could catch a good samaritan that they would reward later on.

One of the most famous creators who made such content was Ivana Alawi.

Bye ABS-CBN! Sharon Cuneta to accept offers from other networks: “A girl’s gotta work where she can and where she’s wanted”

Megastar Sharon Cuneta announced that she would leave ABS-CBN after being a ‘Kapamilya’ for several decades.

In her social media post, Sharon revealed she had no existing contract with ABS-CBN.

Sharon, one of the country’s most-paid artists, blamed the franchise’s non-renewal on the television network.

“For the first time in all these decades, I don’t have a long-term contract with my station. I know it is a number of things that have caused this. We lost our franchise, the station has way too many stars now and we of the “old guard” have to give way. So while I will always be there when they need me and will always be grateful, I guess it is understandable that I for now consider myself a free agent.” she said.

Because she’s now a free agent, Sharon said that she would accept offers from other networks.

“It’s time I opened myself up to other stations that may need my services while always keeping my Kapamilya “duties,” if and when they come. One goes only where one is needed. (And no, wala pa akong nakakausap na kahit sino mula sa kahit anong istasyon, for the record lang po.) I love you, ABS-CBN. My memory and loyalty are unquestionable. But a girl’s gotta work where she can and where she’s wanted. See you again hopefully soon, whenever you may need me!” she stated.

Sharon also mentioned Coco Martin, Cory Vidanes, Carlo Katigbak and other officials of ABS-CBN to thank them.

Meanwhile, Sharon said that she’s open to even working with AllTV despite the criticisms being received by the network owned by Villar family from Kapamilya fans.
