Chad Kinis, other netizens claim to lost their money in GCash that being sent to an EastWest bank account with 5239 ending

GCash announced emergency maintenance after hundreds of customers reported that they lost their money in their e-wallet.

Netizens couldn’t hide their concern as some victims said that their money was sent to an account registered to EastWest Bank with an ending number of 5239.

Comedian Chad Kinis is one of the celebrities who claimed to lose their money in GCash.

“Ganito din ba nangyari sa Gcash niyo? Nalimas bigla. Kasi sa mga nagpost iisa lang ng bank account na pinuntahan eh. Ano to GCash? If this is a system error sana po maayos agad. Nakakaloka,” Chad said.

In another video, Chad was hoping that only a few people were affected by the said issue.

According to him, he saw an unauthorized transaction in his e-wallet that resulted in the loss of all his money worth thousands of pesos.

“Wala man lang OTP (one-time password) na dumadating sakin na na-transfer na pala ‘yung pera ko. Umaga pa pala nangyari ‘yun,” the comedian said.

He said that he was not informed by the said transaction via SMS or email.

The comedian also talked to some victims, saying that most of the unauthorized transactions were sent to only one account from EastWest Bank.

He urged GCash to release a statement about the issue and assure the netizens that their money would be returned to their e-wallets.

“We want to be secured, we are using GCash for so long and it’s a big help samin, and ayaw sana namin na maulit ang ganitong pangyayari,” he said.

“GCash, I have still trust on you na maayos niyo po ang problema at gusot na ito at gusto lang po namin na malaman kung ano ang tunay na nangyari,” he added.

Some followers of the comedian claimed that they also lost their money.

As of writing, GCash and EastWest Bank have yet to give any statement about the issue.
