Pokwang admits something about her true feelings to Lee O’Brian: “Syempre mahal parin kita”

Comedian Pokwang made a huge revelation about her true feelings for her former partner Lee O’Brian.

In an interview with Luis Manzano, Pokwang became emotional while admitting that she still has feelings for Lee, whom she criticized many times on her social media posts.

She attributed their separation because of the difference between their cultures and also due to their language barrier.

However, despite those reasons, Pokwang said that she still tried her best to stay in her relationship with Lee.

“Pasensya ka na kasi iba ‘yung culture mo, iba ‘yung culture ko. May mga pagtatalo tayo na ang hirap ipaliwanag because of language barrier. Pasensya ka na rin kung – triny ko naman ipaglaban. Triny ko naman talaga. Ginawa ko lahat ng best ko para manatili kung ano ‘yung meron tayo,”  said Pokwang.

“Pero gusto ko lang malaman mo kung saan ka man nandoon ngayon, I hope you’re happy and mag-ingat ka lagi. Hindi mo naman basta basta maaalis ‘yun. Siyempre mahal pa rin kita kaya lang meron akong kailangang gawin para sa ikaliligaya ng sarili ko,” she added.

It can be recalled that Lee was reportedly dating another woman already, disappointing Pokwang.

She even appealed to the Philippine Government to deport Lee, calling her former partner an ‘undesirable alien.’

Meanwhile, netizens were not surprised by the revelation made by Pokwang, saying that her social media posts against Lee showed that she still has feelings for the American actor.

Former Eat Bulaga Creative Head, Jeny Ferre, wanted Television and Production Exponents Inc. (TAPE Inc.) to be held accountable for copyright infringement and for using the concept of the segments she invented for Eat Bulaga.

According to the complaint filed by Ferre, Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon, they wanted the court to stop TAPE Inc. from airing replayed episodes of Eat Bulaga and also to forbid them from using the theme song, segments, and its titles.

“Given that plaintiffs are the creative force behind the subject show EAT BULAGA, its elements, musical arrangements, and segments, it follows that plaintiffs own the copyright over (a) the Subject Show EAT BULAGA, its elements and derivative works (such as its jingle/music, and varied logo designs), and its individual segments (such as Pinoy Henyo and Juan For All, All For Juan); and (b) the audiovisual recordings thereof.” the 45-page complaint reads.

The complainants also asked TAPE Inc. to pay P21-M.

Ferre was the brain behind the popular segments of Eat Bulaga, including Pinoy Henyo, Kalyeserye, Bawal Judgmental, and Juan For All, All For Juan.

However, TAPE Inc. executives insisted that they had the right to use the title of Eat Bulaga and its segments because they’re paying the writers to be ‘creative’ for them.

“Wala ba siyang sweldo? Diba, it’s part of her job to create that?” Jalosjos said. “Huwag na natin pahirapan pa. Yung mga writers ng isang show, puwede ba nila i-claim na sa kanila na yun while they’re being paid salaries, allowances?” an executive of TAPE said.

“While you’re being paid to be [a] creative, and then what you created is yours? Is that right?” he added.

 

International relations expert nadiskubre ang posibleng pinagkuhanan ng design ng PAGCOR logo?

An international relations expert made a surprising discovery amid the criticisms received by Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) after unveiling their new logo.

In a Facebook post, Sass Rogando Sasot posted a logo that was so similar to the logo made by Printplus Graphic Services for PAGCOR that cost the taxpayers P3-M.

“Looks familiar? Yup, that’s the PAGCOR Logo. Pangit na, plagiarised pa. PAGCOR 3 million contract only changed the colors of this logo,” Sasot said.

However, after some investigation, we discovered that the website was only newly created.

The website admin, who was using the name @tripperadmin, also posted several signs that he was only ‘trolling’ the internet amid the PAGCOR issue.

Well, even the website’s name already showed an obvious sign that it was only created to mislead the people.

Meanwhile, an IT expert warned the netizens about trying to register on the said website.

“Guys don’t let your emotions get ahead of you. It looks like someone is piggyback riding on the PAGCOR logo issue to collect our personal data. Based on my initial investigation, the website is newly created. I’m too busy to explain everything but this looks like a social engineering + phishing attack.” netizen JJ Vestil said.

“Don’t register for this website. It’s just a WordPress site using a social media template. Please share.” she added.

Claudine Barretto, pinasalamatan si Sabrina M. sa pagsasabi ng katotohanan: “Thank you for standing up for Rico’s name”

Sa isang panayam naman ni Cristy Fermin ay inilaglag si Sabrina ng kanyang malapit na kaibigan na si Katrina Paula.

Ayon kay Katrina ay walang katotohanan ang kwento ni Sabrina at maaring gumagawa lamang ito ng istorya para sumikat muli.

“Nay, wala. Walang relasyon na naganap sa kanila. Baka nagkatikiman sila, pero yung relasyon, hindi ko alam kung saan nanggaling.” ani Katrina.

Hindi naman maitago ni Claudine ang kagalakan dahil sa pagsasabi ng totoo ni Katrina.

Sabrina M’s close friend, Katrina Paula, belied the story made by the 90s actress who claimed to have a relationship with the late actor Rico Yan.

It can be recalled that showbiz reporters, netizens, and even Claudine Barretto were reportedly upset with the alleged made-up story by Sabrina.

According to Sabrina, she had a ‘secret relationship’ with Rico after the latter broke up with Claudine Barretto.

“Alam po ni Claudine na naging kami. Pero never pa namin pinagusapan po. Wala namang problem kasi noong naging kami, wala na sila ni Claudine. Hindi ko naman inagaw si Rico sa kanya noong sila pala,” Sabrina said.

“Matagal ko rin pinag-iisipan kung pupunta ba ako sa burol niya or hindi. Baka ma-issue kasi. Pero may nagsabi sa akin pumunta raw ako para respeto lang sa kanya. Dahil naging kami naman daw,” she added.

However, in an interview with veteran columnist Cristy Fermin, Katrina said that there was no romantic relationship happened between Sabrina and Rico.

Katrina suspected that Sabrina and Rico spent some nights together, but not to the extent that the two became official.

“Nay, wala. Walang relasyon na naganap sa kanila. Baka nagkatikiman sila, pero yung relasyon, hindi ko alam kung saan nanggaling.” said Katrina.

She also confirmed that Sabrina visited Rico’s wake and burial.

“Hindi po, Nay. Nagpunta po kami noon sa La Salle dahil siguro naging magkaibigan kami, yung tropang Whattamen at saka kami. Pero hindi ko alam kung saan nanggaling yung two and a half years,” pagtukoy ni Katrina sa sinabi ni Sabrina na itinagal ng relasyon nila ni Rico,” said Katrina.

But Cristy said that she would stand by her account that she never saw Sabrina in the wake of the late actor.

Katrina also told her friend to stop making stories for publicity.

“Sis, kung dito tayo masisira, wala akong magagawa. Basta ang sa akin, sinabi ko lang yung totoo. Hindi ko alam kung paano mo itinago sa akin yung two and a half years na yon. Wala talagang ganoon,” she said.

As of writing, Sabrina has yet to give any comment to the statement made by Katrina against her.

 

TAPE Inc. responds to the charges filed by TVJ: “They cannot file infringement against the registered owner of the trademark”

Television and Production Exponents Inc. (TAPE Inc) responded to the copyright infringement complaint filed against them by Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon.

On July 12, the legendary trio, together with Eat Bulaga’s former head writer Jeny Ferre accused TAPE Inc. and GMA Network of copyright infringement for replaying past episodes of the noontime show without their permission.

The Marikina Regional Trial Court gave thirty days to TAPE and GMA to comment on the complaint filed against them.

Meanwhile, TAPE Inc’s legal counsel, Atty. Maggie Garduque argued that TVJ could not file a copyright infringement complaint against their former production company.

She argued that copyright infringement could not be filed against TAPE Inc. because they’re the registered trademark owner of Eat Bulaga title.

“Eat Bulaga name, the design of the name and the logo is a ‘trademark’ and not subject of copyright. TAPE, Inc. has the registration of the trade name Eat Bulaga so they cannot file infringement against the registered owner of the trademark,” Garduque said.

It can be recalled that TAPE executives already showed several documents to prove that they’re the rightful owner of Eat Bulaga, despite the claims made by the TVJ that they invented the said title.

Aside from Eat Bulaga title, TAPE also registered several popular segments of the noontime show, including ‘Juan for All, All for Juan,’ ‘Pinoy Henyo,’ and ‘Bawal Judgmental.’

Observers expected that the legal battle between TVJ and Eat Bulaga may last several years since the opposing camps were influential.

 

Tito Sotto expresses dismay over Drag Den Philippines contestant: “You ask for respect yet you won’t respect our religion”

Former Senate President Tito Sotto couldn’t hide his disappointment after watching a video showing a Drag Den Philippines contestant wearing a Jesus costume while dancing along to the music of ‘Ama Namin Remix.’

Drag queen Pura Luka Vega received criticism on social media after the said acts that were taken during a party.

Sotto, a devout follower of the Catholic Church, criticized Vega for his acts.

He even challenged Vega to do it with other religions.

“Whatever it is, why don’t you try doing that to another religion?” said Sotto.

“You ask for respect yet you won’t respect our religion, our faith, our way of life. The Lord’s Prayer is a model prayer directly taught by Jesus to his disciples and us, his followers.

“Don’t disrespect and blaspheme our religion for likes and attention,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Drag Den contestant refused to delete his post and argued that what he did was only art.

“My intent was never to put down a particular group, more so it’s really just how the art of drag or queer art is naman talaga,” said Vega.

The said actions made by Vega fueled the voice of the people who opposed the controversial SOGIE bill.

Rendon Labador labels TVJ as ‘T.A.E’: “Nabulag kayo sa kasikatan”

Motivational Speaker Rendon Labador responded to Joey de Leon’s swipe against TAPE Inc. and the new hosts of Eat Bulaga.

It can be recalled that Joey made the said statement during one of their segments on their newest noontime show E.A.T.

“Legit, kami legit.” said Joey. “‘Yung mga alam niya na, peke, baliktarin niyo ‘yung legit, tigil na kayo,” 

“Ang sitwasyon natin ngayon ay tungkol sa mga shows na ginagamit ‘yung pangalan namin.

“Naawa ako sa mga ganung tao eh, mga walang sariling pag-iisip,” he added.

However, Rendon said that Joey should stop insinuating against TAPE.

According to him, the issue being faced by Joey and his colleagues, Tito Sotto and Vic Sotto, was the consequence of their own actions.

Rendon pointed out that TVJ didn’t oppose the trademark filing made by TAPE Inc. in 2011.

“Sa totoo lang T.A.E. kayong tatlo kung hindi nag invest sa inyo ang TAPE. Hindi ninyo nakita ang ilang taong lugi nila sa inyo, Nag invest sila sa inyo nung nag sisimula palang kayo at hindi ninyo nakita yun kasi nabulag kayo sa kasikatan,” said Rendon.

“Masyado mong nilalagay sa ulo mo ang simpatya ng mga tao sayo Joey! Move on ka nalang, ang tanda tanda mo na mag bago ka na.” he added.

Joey has yet to give any response to Rendon’s comment against him.

The legendary trio, Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon, marked the start of an expected lengthy legal battle against TAPE Inc. and GMA Network.

On July 12, 2023, TVJ filed a complaint before the Marikina Regional Trial Court against the two companies for allegedly committing copyright infringement.

According to sources, TVJ filed the said charges because TAPE and GMA aired several replayed episodes of Eat Bulaga without permission from the trio.

It can be recalled that after the TVJ, hosts, and staff left Eat Bulaga, TAPE aired several replayed episodes of the noontime show while they were looking for new talents.

Despite the clamor from TVJ’s fans, TAPE insisted they’re not giving up Eat Bulaga’s title.

“Syempre, kami po ang nag-trademark niyan ‘nung 2011. And we also had another application 1991. So just the fact na walang iba na nag-oppose. None of them, none of the TVJs, No one oppose our filing for the trademark of Eat Bulaga, it just means to say na talagang it’s clear. The name stays with us, the company and with the incorporation. So hindi po talaga pwedeng madala po ‘yung Eat Bulaga,” said Jalosjos.

They’re also planning to celebrate the 44th anniversary of the show on July 29, a move that made the TVJ disappointed.

As of writing, TAPE Inc. has yet to give any statement on the move made by TVJ.

GMA released a short response, saying they’re already consulting their lawyers about the issue.

 

Drag Den Philippines contestant, refuses to apologizes for cosplaying Jesus while dancing ‘Ama Namin Remix’

A contestant for Drag Race Philippines 2023 received tremendous criticism on social media after he was seen in a video cosplaying Jesus Christ while dancing along to the remixed version of the Catholic worship mass song ‘Ama Namin.’

In a statement, Pura Luka Vega refused to apologize for his action, saying that even their existence was being criticized by the public.

“I won’t delete it nor will apologize for doing it.” said Vega. “To begin with, our mere existence as queer individuals already offends people. Drag is also queer and when I think about it, to me, it’s really just a yassified worship/lipsync of the Lord’s prayer.” 

“There’s a part of me that feels weird to explain my art when I don’t owe anyone an explanation of things. People are free to make interpretations of it. The way I see it, our reactions and perceptions reveal our values which we need to reflect on,” he added.

It can be recalled that several popular figures, including Sen. JV Ejercito, couldn’t hide their disappointment after watching the said video.

“This is blasphemy. This disrespects my faith. This went overboard.” Ejercito said.

Some observers believed that the reaction made by Ejercito may possibly mean, ‘one less vote’ for the SOGIE bill.
