‘Ang Probinsyano’ actor Ricardo Cepeda, himas rehas matapos makasuhan ng estafa

Veteran actor Ricardo Cepeda was facing serious charges that might put him behind bars for life.

According to the reports from the authorities, Cepeda was caught in a restaurant in Caloocan City.

He was facing charges for syndicated estafa, a non-bailable charge that might put him locked up for life.

Syndicated estafa is an unlawful act consisting of five or more persons who intend to commit an illegal act, scheme, or fraud.

It’s unknown how much money was involved in the said case. However, syndicated estafa cases commonly involve significant amounts of money worth millions of pesos.

Cepeda is the former husband of veteran actress Snooky Cerna, and he also became part of Coco Martin’s longest show ‘Ang Probinsyano.’

In a past interview, Cerna described Cepeda as a good husband.

“I have to admit, yun ang main problem namin. Ricardo was a very good husband, wala akong masabi sa kanya. It was just that mahirap talagang pakisamahan yung isang taong… especially at that point, wala kaming trabaho, nawalan kami ng pera,” said Cerna.

“Tapos kailangan pa niyang sakyan yung mood swings ko, either mataas na mataas, haping-happy ako or down na down ako na ayaw kong bumangon sa kama, iiyak lang ako,” she added.

He’s currently under the custody of the QCPD.

Yexel Sebastian went viral on social media after being accused of duping several Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) to put money into his investment scheme.

In a Facebook post, several OFWs brought up the issue to Senator Raffy Tulfo, saying that Yexel and his wife Mikee Agustin, both popular influencers in the country, collected more than P200-M from their alleged victims.

Kalyeserye 2.0? E.A.T host Atasha Mulach meets Lola Belen

E.A.T hinted at the launch of their version of Kalyeserye, which became a popular segment of their former show Eat Bulaga in 2015.

In a Facebook post, they introduced their new character ‘Lola Belen’ portrayed by Wally Bayola, who also acted as ‘Lola Nidora’ during the original Kalyeserye.

There’s also a hint that Atasha Mulach would act as Lola Belen’s grandchild like the original story of Eat Bulaga’s popular show.

It can be recalled that Kalyeserye became phenomenally popular and skyrocketed the fame of Maine Mendoza and Alden Richards.

Wally’s career was also revived because of the said segment after the big issue he faced after his video with an EB Babe dancer circulated on the internet.

E.A.T. fans couldn’t hide their excitement and wished that TVJ Productions would become successful with the possible remake of Kalyeserye.

“Nakaka gud vibes c atasha walang kaarte arte kahit mukhang sosyal ang itsura at npka galang.n bata, marunong cia.kumonek s masa as legit dabarkads, galing pa sumayaw,” netizen Luckylee said.

They’re also asking if Maine would become part of the new segment.

However, there’s a possibility that Television and Production Exponents (TAPE) Inc. would also try to protect the Kalyeserye branding as they’re the ones who currently own its trademark.

Critics also believed that Kalyeserye’s popularity could not be replicated again by E.A.T.

As of writing, TVJ Productions has yet to give an exact date for the launch of their new segment.

Vice Ganda takes a swipe against Ferdinand Topacio after receiving an award

It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda took a swipe against Atty. Ferdinand Topacio after the comedian won an award from the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP).

During one of the episodes of the Kapamilya show, Vice, who presented the award to his fans, said that he was thankful for the recognition he received amid the 12-day suspension imposed by the Movie and Television Classification and Review Board (MTRCB) against them.

Vice said that many people criticized his movies, but it doesn’t hide the fact that it still gave joy to Filipino moviegoers.

“Maraming nagsasabi na ang papangit ng pelikula ko, ang babasura ng pelikula ko. Pero ang ipinagmamalaki ko, sa mga panahong bagsak na bagsak ang mga Pilipino, at parang nawawalan na sila ng pag-asa, at sa mga panahong malungkot na malungkot sila, masayang-masaya ako na kaya maraming nanood ng pelikula, dahil ‘yong mga pelikula ko ang ginagawang pangtakas ng napakaraming Pilipino,” said Vice.

It can be recalled that Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, who’s also a film producer criticized Vice’s movies, saying that it didn’t help the industry to improve.

“Gumastos kami ng 33 million para sa ‘Mamasapano’ ang hirap bawiin because of the climate of the local film industry. Dominated kasi ‘yung local industry ng foreign films. Yon ang number one,” said Topacio who owns Borracho films.

“Ano ba ang naitulong ng mga pelikulang iyon sa pagtaas ng antas ng pelikulang Pilipino? Wala naman e!” he added.

Topacio’s movie only earned P5-M tickets during the last Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) while Vice’s entry earned P100-M pesos.
