The first week of the newest TV5 program, Wil To Win, was visibly stressful for its main host, Willie Revillame.

In an episode of Wil To Win, Willie reprimanded the show’s staff live on television.

Willie couldn’t stop reacting when he noticed one of the staff walking where the camera was panning, which resulted in the latter being seen by televiewers.

Willie explained why he was strict with his staff, saying that every error on the show was his responsibility.

“Naiintindihan n’yo ba ako kung bakit ako nagagalit? ‘Yan po ang problema kapag hindi alam ang ginagawa sa show, ako lahat ang nananagot,” said Willie.

“Tapos sasabihin n’yo mayabang na naman ‘yan. Binabash n’yo ako, kasi pinapaganda ko ang programa,” he added.

Willie even claimed that he was the only one thinking for the show.

“Ako ang nagiging kawawa at arogante dito sa show na ‘to. Makikita n’yo pati music. Maawa kayo sa akin, lahat ako nag-iisip para sa inyo,” he stated.

Willie also said that same thing during the first episode of the show.

“Maawa naman kayo sa akin. Ako pa ba mag-iisip niyan? Diyos ko po naman. Maawa kayo sa akin. Nahihirapan na ako sa show na ‘to. Ako lahat,” he said.

Priscilla Meirelles reportedly flew outside the country amid her rumored separation from John Estrada.

In her Instagram post, Priscilla shared photos of herself and her daughter, hinting at her travel to Brazil.

There were rumors that she was planning to divorce John soon after the actor was spotted dancing with other women in Boracay.

John denied that he was trying to flirt with other women in Boracay and even claimed that he was having a mutually agreed cool-off with Priscilla.

Priscilla, in a separate statement, denied that she agreed to end her relationship with John temporarily.

“To clarify, there was never any mutual agreement regarding our separation. We were married when I left the Philippines, and we remain married as of this time. While there is indeed more to this story, it is not the approriate time to delve into those details,” she said.

Netizens also encouraged Priscilla not to divorce John.

“Ay naku Miss Pri, wag ka makipagdivorce kasi binigyan mo lang sila ng kalayaan. Bayaan mo yung gurl na maging jumper forever,” netizen Mary said.

A lawyer asked the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) committee to investigate Vice Ganda’s movie entry at the event.

During a press conference during the launch of MMFF on July 26, Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, who’s also an owner of Borracho Film Production, said that Vice’s movie, “And The Breadwinner, is…” was copied from a movie from 1995.

The movie Topacio mentioned was the 1995 movie of Rogelio Dela Rosa and Emma Alegre titled “Higit sa Lahat.”

“Based on the synopses that I’ve heard, ‘yung pelikula ni Vice Ganda, the plot appears to be the exact duplicate of the 1955 film ‘Higit sa Lahat’ starring Rogelio Dela Rosa and Emma Alegre,” said Topacio.

“Could you please look into that and if there are possible consequences as to copyright, etc…Pakitingin lang po if this is a case of plagiarism,” he added.

Boots Anson-Rodrigo of the Movie Workers Welfare Foundation (Mowelfund) and Don Artes of Metro Manila Development Authority said that they would study the complaint of Topacio.

Meanwhile, the producer of Vice’s movie insisted that the story of “And the Bread Winner Is…” was original.

They also argued that there would be a chance that some stories may be similar to others.

“Sa panahon ngayon, may makakapareho at makakapareho ka talaga. Like lahat naman ng story ngayon ay ‘Romeo & Juliet’, ‘di ba?” said Percy Intalan.

It can be recalled that Topacio was one of the critics of the movies being published by Vice.

“Gumastos kami ng 33 million para sa ‘Mamasapano.’ Ang hirap bawiin because of the climate of the local film industry. Dominated kasi ‘yung local industry ng foreign films. Yon ang number one,” he said.

“Number two, ‘yung mga movies na walang katuturan. Katulad ng mga movies ni Vice Ganda. ‘Yon ang namamayagpag e,” he added.

One of the P-pop group BINI members, Sheena Catacutan, received a mixed reaction from the netizens after she labeled Sarah Geronimo as ‘mother.’

In her tweet on July 16, 2024, Sheena shared a video where Sarah could be seen walking with her husband, Matteo Guidicelli.

“My mother,” Sheena captioned.

However, many netizens misunderstood Sheena’s post and thought that she was calling Sarah a mother.

“Bat nman tinawag mong mother c sarah sana sister nlang kc mas mukhang matanda ka pa sa kanya,” netizen Luisa said.

“OA [overacting] po kasi talaga masyado ang BINI na akala nila super sikat sila,” netizen Najera commented.

“Mas matanda siya tingnan kaysa kay Sarah, dapat siya ang tawaging mother,” another netizen remarked.

Some Blooms defended Sheena, saying that people must practice reading comprehension as they believed that the BINI member only called Sarah, her mother due to their resemblance.

“Dios ko naman lahat pinapatulan ng Netizen, baka naman kasi Fan Girl sya ni Sarah G at nakikita nyang may pagkahawig sya sa Pop Star Royalty. Wag na sana ma Issue, Spread Love na lang sana and appreciate it kasi humahanga sila kay Sarah G at pinapakita nila ang kanila pag respeto na alam nilang hinding hindi nila mapapantayan,” netizen Algene said.

Paulina Sotto-Llanes, Vic Sotto’s daughter, said she’s now a single mother.

In her Instagram post, Paulina shared a photo together with her daughter, Sachi and stated that she entered a new chapter of her life after hinting at her separation from her husband, Jed Llanes.

“Navigating a new life chapter as a single mom. It’s been a crazy last few weeks with lots of ups and downs, but life goes on. Thankful for what the past 10 years have given me- my beautiful daughter. Now on to better things,” she said.

Paulina and Jed married in 2017.

In 2019, Paulina even shared her thoughts on the increasing number of separations between partners due to social media.

“With social media, yeah, it’s great for marketing and business. But I always say social media is so toxic. It is so toxic and evil. It is so much easier to stray, you know what I mean? It’s terrible, it’s terrible! That’s why there are so many people separating, they’re divorcing,” she wrote.

“They don’t even have divorce in this country, but there are so many couples that separated and dating other people. So, I think that’s the biggest difference. It’s so hard to sustain a marriage,” she added.

Paulina didn’t reveal the reason for her marriage breakdown.

Enchong Dee expressed his interest in making a Boys’ Love (BL) project and even mentioned some actors he wanted to work with.

During a press conference, Enchong said that he was open to doing serious gay roles.

The actor said that he would not waste the opportunity to be featured on a BL project and give inspiration to the LGBTQIA+ community.

He also said it would be perfect if Piolo Pascual, Alden Richards, Jericho Rosales, or Dingdong Dantes would also work with him.

It can be recalled that Enchong already played a gay role in the comedy film Here Comes The Groom.

However, netizens believed that doing a BL project in the country would be seen as controversial.

They also gave their thoughts on the actors mentioned by Enchong.

“Gusto pa niyang i-explore Ang kanyang feeling,” netizen Ramon said.

“Hahha choosey ka becks,” netizen Laban commented.

Alden and Piolo have yet to respond if they are also willing to do an LGBTQIA+-themed project with Enchong.

Social media personality Xian Gaza took a swipe against BINI after the P-pop group was spotted wearing a face mask during their arrival at an airport.

It can be recalled that members of BINI received criticism on social media after they wore face masks and shades to hide from the public eye.

In a Facebook post, Xian described how K-pop idols didn’t try to hide themselves when traveling for work as it would be a gesture to fans who wanted to catch a glimpse of them.

“Ang mga K-pop superstars, kapag namamasyal sa pampublikong lugar eh naka-sombrero sila, naka-shades at naka-mask upang hindi sila dumugin. Pero kapag on the way sila sa isang show, kumakaway at nagba-bow sila sa mga die hard fans sa airport bilang respeto matapos silang maghintay ng matagal. It’s a very simple gesture to show humility in the middle of global stardom,” said Xian.

“At the same time, it’s a good strategy to market their group para mas lumawak pa ang kanilang fan base. Na kahit sobrang sikat na kayo eh nandito kayo sa harap naming lahat, walang takip ang mukha, greeting all of us. Very down to Earth. Sobrang nakakataba ng puso. On the other hand, it’s good for business as walking products of your agency. Win-Win for everyone. Walang talo. Unless masyadong mataas na ang tingin niyo sa inyong mga sarili,” he added.

Xian then mentioned the K-pop group Blackpink, of which the members didn’t wear face masks so their fans could see them.

“Baka feeling nila mas sikat na sila sa Blackpink,” he stated.

Despite being deported, American actor Lee O’Brian kept receiving more accusations from his former partner, Pokwang.

In an interview with talent manager and entertainment reporter Ogie Diaz, Pokwang tried to justify why she couldn’t stop herself from criticizing Lee on social media despite her vows that she would have peace of mind once her former partner was deported already.

One of the incidents she couldn’t forget was when Lee became so upset with her when she asked about a woman he kept liking on Instagram.

In response, Lee questioned why Pokwang needed to ask the said question, insisting that liking other women on social media was not a big deal for him.

After the discussion, Pokwang the discussion was over and took a nap. However, she was surprised when she was awakened by the water Lee poured on her.

“As in binuhusan niya ako ng tubig. Basang-basa yung kama,” she said.

The incident happened when Pokwang was pregnant with their child Malia.

She also addressed the netizens who kept labeling her as bitter, saying they didn’t know the whole story behind it.

“Hindi ako umaano intindihin n’yo ako. Problema ni’yo na ‘yun kung hindi ni’yo ako maintindihan. Sarado na kasi utak ng iba, eh,” she stated.

John Estrada couldn’t hide his disappointment after a fake tweet about him circulated on social media.

In his story, John said that he would file legal charges against the page that posted a made-up tweet, which says that it was not his fault if women were flocking to him.

“Lalake ako, maraming nagkakagusto sakin aksi matipuno, mabait at gwapo tayo. Anong magagawa ko kung tukso na ‘yung lumalapit, edi tukain!” the fake tweet said.

As a response, John told the page owner that they would meet at the court soon.

“Fake news, mag kita tayo sa korte soon kung sino ka man,” he stated.

It can be recalled that John already released a statement about the issue and claimed that there was a mutual decision between him and his wife, Priscilla Meirelles, about having a break in their relationship.

He also denied that he was trying to find new women in Boracay.

“Priscilla and I have mutually agreed to take a break for quite some time now. There’s more to the story, but the last thing I want to do is to hurt the people I love. I want to make it clear that I am not in a relationship with Lily Hallman or any other woman for that matter,” said John.
