Sen. Dela Rosa denies owning a luxury watch worth 25-M pesos: “Desperate itong mga bayarang trolls!”

Senator Ronald Dela Rosa denied the accusations of some netizens that he owns a luxury watch that worth P25,000,000.

A certain Elgin Lazaro III posted a photo of Dela Rosa on his Facebook post highlighting the watch wearing by the Senator.

The post claimed that the accessory wearing by Dela Rosa in the photo is a Richard Mille watch worth P25-M, questioning how a Senator of a republic who’s only earning 300,000 pesos monthly could afford such luxury.

Dela Rosa who saw the post responded to the accusations of his critics, calling them desperate for spreading disinformation about him.

According to Dela Rosa, the watch he’s wearing is not a Richard Mille, but another brand of watch which can be afforded even by the minimum wage earners.

In the photo posted by Dela Rosa, it showed that the watch he’s wearing worth 7,000 pesos and a gift from a friend.

“Tingnan mo naman how desperate itong mga bayarang trolls just to destroy the reputation of a person.

The man who gave him the watch defended Dela Rosa, saying that he presented it to the former PNP chief, one year before he was elected as a senator.

This is not the first time that Dela Rosa was accused by his critics of owning expensive things that cannot be simply afforded by anyone.

In 2018, Dela Rosa has been questioned by his critics for wearing expensive pants, claiming that the jeans he’s wearing worth P25,000.

However, Dela Rosa revealed that he bought the pants in Las Vegas for only $49.99.

Just pm me your size at bibilhan kita dito mr. inggitero.”Dela Rosa said.

A former news reporter of ABS-CBN criticized one of the current Kapamilya journalists, Karen Davila, after her interview with Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo about the franchise issue of her network and press freedom.

On his Facebook post, veteran journalist Jay Sonza couldn’t stop himself from criticizing Davila and questioning her capabilities as a broadcaster after what he saw during the interview.

Sonza said that Davila may not impress the first generation executives and reporters of ABS-CBN if she became a journalist in the same era as them.

“I am sorry to say this.

Lito Balquiedra Jr. at Orly Mercado – mga betereno ng abs, 1st day, last day ito matapos masabihan ng you’re fired,” he added.

Davila is being criticized and accused of trying to outsmart Spokesperson Panelo who’s known as one of the top lawyers in the country.

In another post, Sonza gave a tip to people who are dreaming to become a talk program presenter.

“Here’s my professional tip to budding and would be talk program presenter on radio and television – study, study harder and study some more the subject of discussion/issues and/or presentation. Otherwise, you will appear like that idi*t Karen Davila on ANC, SkyCable this morning with one of the country’s top litigation lawyer in Salvador Panelo,” he said.

Davila’s interview with Panelo has gone viral yesterday after the two almost engaged in a heated debate about press freedom and the ABS-CBN franchise.

During the discussion, Panelo insisted that President Rodrigo Duterte is not pressuring the Congress to delay the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN.

He also distanced the President to the quo warranto petition filed by Solicitor General Jose Calida against the television network giant.

Panelo then complained of how some reporters are seems trying to blame President Duterte for what’s currently happening in ABS-CBN.

Netizen makes funny report about EDSA rally: “Sa sobrang dami po nila, walang ka-traffic traffic”

The #OustDuterte rally in EDSA was awaited by many netizens who are curious if this time, they’re going to succeed in pressuring President Rodrigo Duterte to resign by showing how many people are already opposing his policies.

However, it seems that many of them are disappointed that four years since Duterte became the President, there’s still no opposition rally that could raise alarm to the current administration.

A netizen even made a funny news report about the EDSA rally to mock the rallyist who even called the event “People Power 3” in some of their Facebook posts few weeks ago.

Hajji Kuya Amin, who’s driving along EDSA on February 22 published a live video showing the rallyists gathered around the People Power Monument.

In his report, he sarcastically said that there are millions of people attended the rally.

In reality, MMDA announced that there are only approximately 200 people attended the said event.

The event was promoted by several opposition supporters for months, asking for donations for the big event.

“You may say I’m a dreamer: but I’m not the only one.” – IMAGINE, John Lennon,” Enzo Recto, one of the organizers of the rally said weeks before the event.

However, it seems that the effort of the organizers is not enough to encourage the public to support the ouster of President Duterte.

“Nilangaw?” MMDA Spokesperson complains about the few attendees of #OustDuterte rally: “Naglagay pa kami ng barriers”

It seems that not only the opposition supporters are disappointed after seeing that there are only a few attendees in the most awaited #OustDuterte rally in EDSA.

Even Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Spokesperson Celine Pialago was disappointed because the agency prepared a lot after hearing rumors that many people are going to attend the event which aims to oust President Rodrigo Duterte from his office.

According to Pialago’s post, MMDA already put barriers around the possible places of the rally, however, they were disappointed that only less than 200 people attended the event.

Pialago also sacrificed her weekend vacation just to supervise the said event.

“Sayang naman preparation namin for this “rally” naglagay pa kami ng barriers, tapos pumasok pa ako ng weekend,” Pialago said on her Facebook post.

The #OustDuterte rally was organized by the group Bunyog (Pagkakaisa) to force President Duterte to resign.

Enzo Recto, one of the organizers, even called the said event as “People Power 3”.

Recto said.

“Sovereignty resides in the people and all government authority emanates from them.” #OustDuterteNow! #PeoplePowerNa!” he also said.

However, despite the online support and donations received by Recto, it seems that People Power 3 is not going to happen yet.

As of writing, Bunyog is not yet releasing a statement over the criticisms they received after their EDSA rally.

Netizen slams DJ Chacha for her comments against Sen.

A netizen criticized radio disc jockey Czarina Balba also known as DJ Chacha after she asked Senator Ronald Dela Rosa to resign because of admitting his loyalty to President Rodrigo Duterte.

On a Facebook post, netizen Noel Landero Sarifa explained to Balba that it’s acceptable to anyone to be loyal to a politician as long as they’re not corrupt or doing any illegal actions.

Sarifa said that in the case of Senator Dela Rosa, he chose to be loyal to President Duterte who’s according to the netizen, is a very good leader and known for taking care of his people.

He also said that there’s nothing wrong with being loyal to a democratically-elected President like Duterte.

Sarifa then challenged the DJ who became popular because of her signature line “mwah mwah tsup tsup” to criticize the owner of her radio station, ABS-CBN if she really wanted to fight for her country.

Balba is working at MOR 101.9, a radio station owned by ABS-CBN.

He also reminded Chacha that the voters are already aware about the close relationship between Duterte and Dela Rosa, but the former PNP chief still won the senatorial election.

Here’s what Sarifa said in his post:

DJ Cha Cha,

I am loyal to the President and my country. As long as I see that the President is doing his best to uplift the lives of our countrymen and do his best to put the glory back to our nation, why would I not be loyal to him?

Who else runs the country? Ikaw? Ang amo mong oligarch?

Your statement does not apply to all, your loyalty to your management what do you call it? Puppetry? Slavery?

Several days ago, Balba made fun of Dela Rosa’s statement about his loyalty to Duterte and even asked the Senator to resign as a lawmaker and just apply as security personnel of the President.

Dela Rosa then responded to Balba’s tweet, asking who she is to urge him to resign.

“Who you?” Dela Rosa said when asked about his reaction to Balba’s criticisms.

Coco Martin says ABS-CBN franchise renewal is also for all Filipinos: Ayokong mawala nalang isang araw ang pinagkakautangan ko ng loob

ABS-CBN supporters organized another rally to express their support to the television network giant amid their franchise renewal issue.

The top talents of ABS-CBN like Angel Locsin, Jericho Rosales, and Coco Martin also attended the same event and participated in the so-called human chain around the company’s compound stretching around Lopez Drive, Mother Ignacia, and Sgt. Esguerra as they called for a renewal of the network’s franchise which is still pending in the Lower House.

“Ang Probinsiyano” leading star Coco Martin who’s wearing a white shirt together with the other attendees of the rally defended the network who made him become one of the richest and famous celebrities today in showbusiness today.

According to him, the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN is not only for the cause of the celebrities and other people working for the company but also for the whole Filipino nation.

The actor also seems opposed the gag order filed by Solicitor General Jose Calida before the Supreme Court to prevent anyone from talking publicly about the franchise issue of ABS-CBN.

Martin said that everyone should not be stopped from speaking about their opinions on what’s happening in the country every day.

Twitter users praised Coco Martin’s speech, calling him “real-life Cardo Dalisay” and a parody account even called the actor as a new hero.

“Hats off to Coco Martin! That is a powerful statement. This is why it is important for our actors/actresses to speak up about freedom of press and expression.

And I just wish that this show of support & solidarity of artists, employees & supporters of ABS-CBN be not only limited to its franchise renewal but also on matters greatly affecting our country. Let us show them that we still have the power!” @rryyyaaaannnn commented.

However, some netizens are still not impressed with Martin’s statement, suspecting that the actor is only afraid to lose one of his main sources of income.

Maypa hats off2x kapang nalalaman,” netizen @loljustgoaway said.

The rally was done three days before the Senate starts the investigation on the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN.

Senate Public Services Committee Chairperson Senator Grace Poe is going to lead the investigation.

Netizens speculate that Sarah Geronimo’s mother allegedly wants to handle all her child’s asset before wedding

The surprise wedding of Sarah Geronimo and Matteo Guidicelli captured the attention of social media.

However, the netizens do not seem interested in the main event of the wedding and they’re more curious about what happened during the sidelines of the event.

It was reported that the mother of Sarah Geronimo, Divina suddenly appeared to the wedding of her child despite being not invited to the said event.

There’s also a police blotter revealing that Guidicelli allegedly confronted one of the security personnel of his wife, accusing him of informing Divina about the wedding and spoiling the private wedding.

It’s already known that the mother Sarah Geronimo, ‘Mommy Divine’ was rumored to be a very strict parent to her daughter as the singer/actress is still hesitating to enter a married life despite being in her 30s already.

Twitter users didn’t stop in gathering clues and information about what happened to the wedding of Sarah and Matteo, and one netizen even saw a blind item posted by entertainment blog Fashion Pulis two weeks ago that may answer all the questions why Divina was not invited to the wedding of her own child.

The post of Twitter  @sportshecklerrr shows the screenshot from Fashion Pulis’ blind item about a story about a mother who wanted to transfer all the assets of her child under her name.

“When Future Bride (FB) found out the drama of AE and HP, she decided to talk to her kin. AE was firm to show her dislike for the forthcoming event and obviously, for the Future Husband (FH). While FB has been pleading for AE to cooperate, she was not at all listening and instead, she was focused on reading documents. Later, the documents turned out to be the prenup and other papers that would allegedly place under her name everything that FB owns. AE said that she would only have peace of mind if FB turns over everything to her. Her goal is to ensure that FH will not get any assets of FB in case they separate in the future. FB, at that point, refused to sign, citing that her love for FH is immeasurable,” Fashion Pulis wrote on their article.

Some netizen assumed that the mother in the story is Mommy Divine and her actions in the story forced the couple to disinvite her to the wedding of her child.

Twitter users also debated if it is really appropriate for Mommy Divine to still decide for her child who’s already 31 years old.

“Mommy Divine just being real asf.. no bs thing or something.. at gusto ko pagka segurista niya as a mother lalo sa panahon ngayon na naglipana mga oportunista,” netizen @reimund_resha12 said.

“Hindi reponsibility ng anak ang magulang. Period,” @rednakuring commented.

“Why can’t Sarah just do the prenup? No need to transfer her properties to her mother. The prenup is enough. If Matteo is really rich and not insecure, he will agree to that prenup to avoid trouble. Just do the prenup!” @thedamnbrown remarked.

Sarah and Matteo are not yet releasing a statement on the issues that happened during their wedding.

Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo explained the side of the government to journalist Karen Davila on the issue of the ABS-CBN franchise.

In an interview with ANC Headstart, Panelo insisted that President Rodrigo Duterte is not controlling or pressuring the other branches of the government to block the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN, which initially set to expire by the end of March 2020.

According to Panelo, Duterte is only expressing his frustrations against ABS-CBN when they didn’t air the commercial he paid last presidential election, but it doesn’t mean that he’s already controlling the Congress to block it.

He also said that only the Congress could decide if they’re going to renew the franchise of ABS-CBN and not the President.

“The President made utterances against ABS-CBN, he made certain statement like ‘I’ll shut it down’ pero hindi naman literal ‘yun eh, he wants to shut down the fraudulent practices of your network,” Panelo told Davila.

“Yun ang kinagagalit ni Presidente, yung mga ganoong klaseng practices kaya siya nagalit, you cannot deprived this man to express his displeasure or disgust or anger when he was a victim of fraud, pero walang kinalaman ‘yun sa pag renew because that is the job of the Congress,” he added.

The Presidential Spokesperson also said that even if Duterte tries to veto the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN, Congress has still the power to override the decision of the President.

“Ano naman kung i-veto? They can override the veto of the President,” the President said.

When Davila asked if the Congress is violating any law because they’re not doing their job in tackling the ABS-CBN franchise, Panelo said that only the courts could decide that.

On the quo warranto filed by Solicitor General Jose Calida, Panelo explained that the said petition is not ordered by the President.

Panelo claimed that Calida is moving independently and he sees nothing wrong with filing the quo warranto because it will not affect the franchise of ABS-CBN.

“Ano naman kung granted (yung quo warranto) edi ganon parin, may pending application ka naman, kasi kung mayroon kang violation ay doon ka lang mananagot sa batas sa violation mo pero after that pwede ka namang mag apply, still the Congress would decide,” Panelo explained.

Panelo also complained about how ABS-CBN seems trying to blame Duterte to their franchise issue and also aligning their issues with press freedom.

However, Davila argued that the franchise of ABS-CBN “could lead” to a press freedom issue.

“Ang nakakayamot Karen, pinapasok nila yung freedom of the press, walang connection eh, ipagpalagay na nating nawala ang ABS CBN, are you telling me na nawala na yung freedom of expression and of the press? Of course not, ang dami daming networks, ang daming radyo nandyan parin, and ABS-CBN can always, alam mo na madali lang naman gawan ng paraan yan, ibenta mo lang tapos ikaw rin pala ang may hawak, ewan ko ba parang natatawa na ko,” he said.

When Davila tried to insist that the issue of ABS-CBN is also about freedom of the press, Panelo asked the journalist how she would prove that.

However, Davila refused to answer to Panelo’s question.

“I’m not gonna tell you, I’m going to ask you that’s my job on the show to ask you,” she told Panelo.

She then asked Panelo why President Duterte didn’t stop the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) to file a quo warranto petition against ABS-CBN if he doesn’t really want to interfere with the Congress.

As a response, Panelo said that it’s the job of the OSG to file a case against alleged violators of the constitution.

Davila then brought up the press freedom issue again and asked Panelo if an editorial judgment is a violation of the franchise renewal.

To answer the question of Davila, Panelo said that editorial judgment is not a violation of the franchise renewal so the ABS-CBN issue cannot be linked to press freedom.

“Bakit, hindi naman iyon yung ground for quo warranto ah, so edi walang koneksyon, the very connection of the quo warranto does not even touch your right to criticize, your right to write editorials so anong koneksyon non sa freedom of express or of the press? Edi wala,” Panelo said.

Davila mentioned a statement from some experts, saying that the franchise issue could lead to the editorial independence of any given networks.

However, Panelo argued that only Congress could decide about the franchise issue of ABS-CBN and not the President.

Panelo also has a message to the management of ABS-CBN.

“Ang problema kasi sa inyo, hindi yung mga bagong executives ngayon, kakaawa nga dahil ang gagaling, mga bata, matitino, now they’re suffering because of what their father’s did, or yung mga uncle nila… Alam na nila na mali yung ginawa nila, and yet did they do anything to appease the person naging biktima ng kanilang injustice and fraud? Wala,” Panelo said.

He then praised ABS-CBN CEO Carlo Katigbak for admitting the faults of his own company.

Former Senate President Enrile explains why Quo Warranto against ABS-CBN is a right move: “May ginawa silang sistema para makakuha ng kapital na banyaga”

Former Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile said that the government’s decision to file a quo warranto against ABS-CBN is a right move as the broadcasting company allegedly violating the constitution.

In a radio interview, Enrile said that ABS-CBN is now facing a problem of being qualified to have a franchise because of allegedly violating the foreign ownership restriction on mass media in the Constitution.

According to him, even one piece of a share bought by a foreigner to a media company is already against the law.

“Ang problema diyan ay yung kwalipikasyon ng ABS-CBN to have a franchise. Dahil sang-ayon sa ating Saligang-batas, ang mga korporasyon na ang kanilang negosyo ay communication o information, media, hindi pwedeng magkaroon ng kahit isang shares of stock ang banyaga. because it must be fully owned by Filipinos,” said Enrile.

He pointed out that ABS-CBN tried to make a way to get funding from foreigners by selling Philippine Deposit Receipts (PDR).

Enrile said that by issuing PDRs to foreigners, ABS-CBN is now giving a share of their income to other nationalities which are not allowed in the constitution.

May participation sila. Eh hindi pwede yun,” he explained.

Yung ginagamit na reglamento sa pagsusuri sa husgado to challenge the qualification of a corporation to do that business.” he added.

Enrile also said that if the Supreme Court favored the petition filed by the Office of the Solicitor General, even the Congress cannot save ABS-CBN.

“Kahit na magbigay ng prangkisa ang Kongreso, kapag sinabi ng Korte na hindi qualified ang ABS-CBN dahil sa violation, may foreign ownership, eh balewala yung prangkisa,” he said.

ABS-CBN is facing many issues including their upcoming franchise expiration and also the quo warranto petition filed by Solicitor General Jose Calida against them.

The Congress said that they’re only going to discuss the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN once that the public are already calm about the issue.

However, some members of the senate are already impatient and now pushing for a hearing to tackle the issues of the television network giant.

“Kinurakot sa mga donor?” Former Kapamilya news director claims ABS-CBN using the money from their foundation to construct own buildings

The former news director of ABS-CBN claimed that his ex network established a foundation to get kickbacks from its donors.

In a radio interview with the host of ‘Tambayan sa DWIZ’, veteran journalist Jay Sonza recounted how his former broadcasting company formed a foundation after they saw how many people donated on them when they published a story about a person with an abnormal condition.

Nagsimula sa lingkod bayan iyan,” Sonza said.

According to Sonza, the foundation that ABS-CBN established became successful.

When the Luzon quake happened, the network raised billions of pesos from its subscribers who wanted to help the victims of the calamity.

However, Sonza criticized the move of ABS-CBN after the management allegedly used the money of the foundation the construct additional buildings for the company.

Aside from constructing a building, Sonza also claimed that the broadcasting network used the foundation money to buy vehicles.

According to Sonza, he also wanted the government to investigate the ABS-CBN foundation for their alleged illegal activities or if the network is not hiding something, just reveal their accounting books to the public.

“Kung walang tinatago ang ABS, ilabas nila yung libro, kung ilan yung natanggap nila sa Yolanda, ilan yung tinanggap nila kay Flor Contemplacion, ilang yung natanggap nila sa Mount Pinatubo, kung paano nila ginastos,” he said.

ABS-CBN foundation was originally established in 1989 and known for its three flagship programs: Bantay Bata 163, Sagip Kapamilya and Bantay Kalikasan.
