Davao City’s 1st district Representative Paolo ‘Pulong’ Duterte writes an open letter addressed to his father President Rodrigo Duterte and also to the critics of the chief executive.

In his Instagram post, Pulong expressed his support to his father who’s currently on self-quarantine in Malacañan saying that he’s going to help the chief executive until the end.

Pulong also said that the President should let the enhanced community quarantine violators faced their own demise because of not following the safety procedures against COVID-19.

“Pa, nandito lang kami. Magtulongan lang tayo, ang diyos lang ang may Alam kung hanggang saan lang tayo. Hindi tayo si Superman. Tao lang tayo. Haharapin natin ito hanggat sa makakaya, kung ang ibang tao’y matigas ang ulo at ayaw makinig sayo. Hayaan mo silang magpakmtay!” Pulong said in his Instagram post.

The lawmaker then asked the critics of the President on how they would feel if their father were also being hurt like what they’re doing to the chief executive.

“Para sa inyo mga reklamador, bashers, haters kaaway meron din kayong mga ama kung pagsusuntokin ko ba sila sa harapan ninyo? Ano kayang mararamdaman niyo? Okay lang talaga sakin.” he said.

Pulong statement was reuploaded by netizen Chris Gero and now received 17,000 shares as of writing.

The President is receiving criticisms from some netizens and celebrities amid the enhanced community quarantine being imposed by the government.

However, some defenders of the President said that the people should stop criticizing the chief executive as the country is facing a crisis because of the COVID-19.

Singer Bitiun Escalante slammed the government for allegedly targeting ‘great’ public officials like Vice President Leni Robredo.

In her Twitter page, Escalante criticized the plan of the Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) Commissioner Manuelito Luna to investigate Vice President Leni Robredo’s relief efforts for the COVID-19 crisis.

She also called the Duterte administration useless for targeting good performing local officials.

“ANG ATING INUTIL NA PAMAHALAAN. Pinagiinitan ang mahuhusay na mga Mayor, LGU at ang ating Bise Presidente. MAGPAQUARANTINE NA LANG KAYO! WALA NA KAYONG MAGANDANG NAITULONG. STAY AT HOME!!!” Escalante said.

The singer also reminded her critics that they’re not going to get any reply from her.

“I hardly see any of the offensive posts. I’ve been on muting sprees before, so it’s most likely they have been muted. So it gives them a chance to comment but they won’t get engagement from me. Exercise in futility baga. Do me a favor, guys. Do the same and just ignore them,” she said.

According to her, she’s disappointed by the move of the PACC because they’re taking away the only possible way for her to help the people affected by COVID-19.

“Trying. Really trying. Especially for the kids. If I weren’t a mom I’d be out there. The only way I’ve been able to help is thru online donations, one of which is “
@KayaNatinPH. And now they want to take away my ability to help. It’s bad enough that they get my taxes,” Escalante remarked.

One day after Escalente’s post, President Rodrigo Duterte also expressed his disappointment over the move of Luna and decided to fire him.

“May tao ako na abogado sa PACC, Commissioner Manuelito Luna. Gusto niya ipa-imbestiga si Leni kung bakit nagsolicit, anak ng… Kaya noong narinig ko, sabi ko, fire him,” said the President

Woman returns 5,000 pesos to DSWD because her husband receives SAP already: “Mas kailangan ito ng iba”

A woman who received money from the social amelioration program (SAP) of the government has been praised on social media because of her honesty.

On April 19, Whendy Pido, 28, a resident of Basak, Magpet, North Cotabato, captured the attention of the social media users after her story was featured by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

According to the post of DSWD Region 12, Pido decided to return the money she received from the SAP worth P5,000, admitting that her husband, who resided to another barangay, already received financial aid.

Pido said that she returned the money because she believes that many people badly needed the social amelioration program, especially that the funds were just limited.

She also pointed out that she might face the consequences in the future if she accepted the money.

Social Amelioration Program rules prohibit two beneficiaries per family.

“Kusa ko pong ibinalik yung perang naibigay sa akin ng mga taga-barangay mula sa Social Amelioration Program sa dahilang nabigyan na ang aking asawa na nasa kabilang barangay,” Pido said.

“Mas kailangan ito ng iba pang higit na nangangailangan dulot ng COVID-19 krisis sa aming barangay. Hindi ko po tinanggap dahil dodoble na ang aming matatanggap na ayuda at alam ko po na maari kaming makulong hinggil dito,” she added.

The story has gone viral on the internet, and Pido received praise from the netizens.

“May her tribe increase. Very good example showing concern and sympathy for others,” netizen Tem Rivera said.

“Very good. God will bless you more. sana matularan ka pa ng iba. sana maging light ka sa mga taong kahit alam nlang disqualified sila aawayin pa yonng mga gumawa ng lista. mag eeskandalo pa. example retired na tumatanggap ng pension but still ma insist na bigyan pa. anong klaseng mga tao,” netizen Flores Dumago Buenavista commented.

“I salute you po ate..PERO KUNG AKO SA YO KINUHA KO NA LANG AT AKO AMG NAGBIGAY KING SINO ANG NANGANGAILANGAN,. YANG HINDI MO PAGKUHA BAKA KUNG KANINONG KAMAY PAY MAPUNTA.. JUST SAYING BUT TRUE sa panahon ngayon basta pera umiiral kademonyohan!” netizen Brenda Bartolome remarked.

Leah Navarro on Paolo Contis tweet against Trillanes: “Who is Paolo Contis?”

Filipina singer Leah Navarro became suddenly intrigued by Paolo Contis after the latter criticized former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on a Twitter post two days ago.

On Thursday, Navarro saw the reaction of Twitter page The Professional Heckler about Contis’ post, calling Trillanes useless and rude for his reaction to President Rodrigo Duterte’s statement against his critics.

“Sorry, who is Paolo Contis? Serious question.” Navarro said.

Some netizens tried to answer Navarro’s question, telling her about Contis’ past relationship, filmography, and favorite line.

Netizen Jay Sayco even told Navarro that Contis is already an obsolete artist.

“LAOS” Sayco said which Leah Navarro responded with “Oh. Like me. Ok, thanks,”

Contis has gone viral after he made a rare political post on social media.

“Isa pa tong bastos at walang silbi na ito eh…” Contis tweeted.

The actor was reacting to Trillanes’ post, who said that he might pat the President on his neck because of the logic of the chief executive.

“Four Trillion ang budget mo, tapos hahanapan mo ako ng ambag? Batukan kaya kita,” Trillanes tweeted.

Trillanes made the said tweet against Duterte after the chief executive asked their critics for what they have done to the country except criticizing the government.

Ito lang ang tanong ko…. Ano ang nagawa ninyo para sa bayan? ’Yan lang,” Duterte said in his televised address.

“Kayo, what have you done for the country except to talk and criticize and talk?” he added.

P.I niyo! Foreign Affairs Secretary Locsin slams hospitals for allegedly charging their patients for donated PPEs

Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Teodoro Locsin couldn’t hide his anger after hearing the news that some hospitals are allegedly charging their patients for the use of Personal Protection Equipments (PPEs).

On Sunday, Locsin Jr slammed the hospitals for allegedly asking their patients to pay for the PPEs that they received from the donations of the government and private sector.

“I heard that hospitals are charging patients for the PPEs donated to them. P*t*ngina niyo,” Locsin tweeted.

Locsin’s followers shared their thoughts on the news shared by the foreign affairs secretary.

Dr. Teddy Herbosa said that it’s fine if the private hospitals charged their costumers for the PPEs if they bought it using their own money.

“I have been trying to think hard how to prevent this. The private hospitals buy PPEs. If they bought it I have no problem Charging those. But if they get donations from the private sector or the government, how should we monitor that those are not abused and charged? Suggestions?” Herbosa said.

Netizen @TitaMaldita_ also heard the same news from one of her viber groups, saying that some hospitals are selling PPEs for 3,000 pesos per set.

“I read that too in one of my Viber resident groups. Been trying to find it but too many msgs. OP said she was charged 3K/PPE set. Nurse checks in on her 8x/day and changes PPE each time. So 24K/day. Face screaming in fear Disclaimer: just read that, not verified, but pls investigate,” she commented.

Netizen @ianklsdmbldr expressed sadness after reading the post of Locsin, saying that some hospitals may be taking advantage of the situation.

“Some hospitals will really take advantage of the fact Philhealth will pay them mostly in full, some will pad up charges so they can earn more. Greed even during a pandemic and their work is romanticized,” he remarked.

Some of them are also urging the government to investigate the hospitals allegedly selling donated PPEs.

Donation of PPEs poured after medical professionals succumbing from COVID-19 rises in the country.

One company, San Miguel Corporation even donated P500-M worth of PPEs to different hospitals in the country.

Sorry, who is Paolo Contis? Serious question,” Leah Navarro asked.

A netizen even said that he’s going to stop watching Bubble Gang because of Contis’ comment against Trillanes.

“Paolo Contis because of you will not going to watch anymore bubble gang until you leave that show,” @optimumpatriot tweeted.

Mayor of Sadanga, Mountain Province refuses relief goods from DSWD: Hayaan natin ang gobyerno pakainin yung mahihirap sa siyudad

The Mayor of Sadanga, a 5th class municipality in Mountain Province made an unusual move amid the COVID-19 crisis in the country.

Mayor Gabino Ganggangan of Sadanga announced that he refused to accept the relief goods came from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), saying that his people could sustain themselves without the food aid from the government.

“Today I was informed by our MSWDO that some relief food packs sent by the DSWD region are now available at the PDRRM office in Bontoc for LGU’s that might be requesting,” Ganggangan said on his Facebook post.

“However, I decided and instructed our MSWDO to relay our message that our municipality will not be availing of these food packs even if the lockdown will be extended,” he added.

Ganggangan believes that the community of Sadanga was prepared for economic hardships such as ‘food shortages’ as they have a culture that the richer people of their villages are expected to help the needy relatives or neighbors.

He also said that even in worst-case scenarios, their community has a plan to survive the the crisis.

“Its not that we don’t have poor and needy families but i believe that we as tribal communities still have and should sustain our “built in” and homegrown or indigenous social structure, values, and practice of taking care of our respective relatives or kins, neighbors ,or kailyan in distress during hard times or economic crisis,” he said.

“It is during these kinds of economic hardships such as “food shortages”, hunger and famine that the “richer or better of” ( kadangyans) among a clan or village are expected to aid their needy relatives by lending their surpluses,” he added.

“Should this crisis extend longer to the extent that our needy families really run out of their rice supplies, we shall mandate the kadangyans of every barangay to open up their rice granaries ( agamangs) to sustain us through to the next harvest season. I assure that no family shall go hungry in our municipality even during these hardtimes,” he also said.

The Mayor said that instead of sending their food packs to Sadanga, he told the government to prioritize the people living in the cities who don’t have the capacity to sustain themselves.

“Let the Nat’l Gov”t feed those more needy urban poor in the cities and those less fortunate in other areas who can’t sustain themselves, while we sustain ourselves while we can,” he said.

Ganggangan’s post has gone viral on social media and received 2,500 shares as of writing.

Ligo donates 20,000 cans of sardines to the Vice President weeks after one of its owner calls Duterte admin members as clowns

The woke’s new favorite company, Ligo Brand Philippines donated 20,000 of their canned sardines to the Office of the Vice President (OVP) as part of their contribution to the COVID-19 relief efforts.

On Friday, Vice President Leni Robredo thanked Ligo for donating the said canned goods to their office.

“Taos-pusong pasasalamat po sa ating mga kaibigan sa Ligo Sardines (Philippines), na nagpadala sa ating Tanggapan ng 20,000 cans ng kanilang produkto ngayong araw!” Robredo said.

“Sa ating pagtutulungan, mas marami sa ating mga kababayang nangangailangan ang ating maaabot. Maraming salamat po sa bukas-palad ninyong pakikiisa sa gitna ng panahong ito,” she added.

It can be remembered that one of the owners of Ligo company, Mikko Lawrence Tung urged people from the private sector not to donate anything to the government.

“Ligo Sardines will be making its donations directly to the hospitals, and different NGOs leading the fight against COVID-19. Let us learn from our mistakes,” Tung said on his Facebook post weeks ago.

“I urged all my friends from the private sectors to do the same. Do not give it to these (clown emoji) We will do a lot more good on our own, than trusting our donations with the government. This is theft before our very eyes,” he added.

After receiving criticisms, Tung clarified that his Facebook post does not reflect Ligo’s stand.

Ligo Sardines also released an official statement to express their support to the government efforts to fight COVID-19.

It seems that the company also didn’t follow what Tung wanted as they donated their sardines to the OVP, which is also part of the government.

Coincidentally, website Bilyonaryo started to publish articles about the issues faced by Ligo Brand including its several violations with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).

According to one of Bilyonaryo’s article, Ligo was forced to close down one of their factories after being caught discharging dirty waste-water in a creek from their sardines factory in Valenzuela City.

Ex Solicitor General Hilbay urges people to avoid watching President Duterte’s televised address: “Don’t help him feed his ego”

Defeated senatorial candidate and former Solicitor General Florin ‘Pilo’ Hilbay urged his followers to stop watching President Rodrigo Duterte’s televised address, calling it ‘useless.’

Hilbay was known for watching every televised address of Duterte to analyze the actions of the President.

The critic of the President even praised the latter last month and called his speech ‘impressive’.

However, on April 16, Hilbay announced that he would stop watching the presscons of the chief executive because he believed that Duterte is only wasting the time of the people.

The former Otso Diretso bet said that people should spend their nights with their family instead of watching the President prevent him from spreading ‘propaganda.’

“Stopped watching the President’s useless press cons after the 2nd time he wasted the nation’s attention. We’re better off w summaries by credible media outlets. Don’t help him feed his ego & distribute propaganda. Spend time w yourself or family instead,” Hilbay said.

Hilbay ended his tweet with the hashtag ‘DontWatchThePresident.’

He also made another tweet about the said televised address.

“Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.” (A president seeking to inspire fellow citizens to join the cause of freedom and progress). “Ano ambag mo?” (An angry president lashing out at citizens asking for accountability and leadership).” he tweeted.

Two days ago, Duterte slammed his critics and asked them about their contribution to the country.

Duterte also said that he would name his critics when the next election period.

“Nakikita mo naman kung sino-sino sila. Ano ang nagawa? Ito lang tanong ko: Dumaan na man kayo, ano ang nagawa ninyo para sa bayan? Iyan lang. Kapag sinabi ninyo ako wala, okay wala. Eh kayo? What have you done for the country except to talk and criticize and talk? Pilipino naman nakikinig ka diyan sa mga… Nagbabasa ka diyan sa mga Facebook-Facebook.” Duterte said.

Agot Isidro reacts on the drawing comparing her to comedian Palito: “I am quite honored”

Actress Agot Isidro reacted on her a portrait circulating on the internet that seems to point out her resemblance to the late comedian Reynaldo ‘Palito’ Hipolito.

For the past few days, the viral portrait of Isidro has been circulating on social media.

Some netizens found it funny because they thought that the unknown artist was trying to draw Palito instead of the actress.

The portrait was posted by several pro-Duterte bloggers and shared on some social media groups.

However, Isidro told the supporters of the President that she’s not upset with the circulating drawing.

Isidro even said that she’s proud to be compared to a ‘legend’ like Palito.

“Dear DDS, If you think I am offended by this, I am not. Palito is a legend. I am quite honored, actually. So thank you for this,” Isidro said.

However, Agot warned that she’s going to block some people who kept bothering her on Twitter.

“Please, take your pea-brains out of my TL, because I am blocking you. My TL, my rules,” she warned.

A follower of Isidro who met Palito decades ago shared his moments with the comedian.

“Had the pleasure of meeting Palito way back in the 90’s. My mom and I saw him at Wendy’s Sucat Interchange. He was a low key, humble-looking man. He even talked to my mom on our way back to the parking lot. Walang ka-ere-ere. God bless him. And you too,” @nnernerd said.

Netizen @AkoHigala also praised Isidro for her looks.

“You have always been very pretty, stylish, and sophisticated, Ms. A, but you look adorable in this picture. Palito just like Babalu who you had the chance to work within a sitcom also left an indelible mark in the Philippine entertainment industry,” he said.

However, some of Isidro’s critics couldn’t stop themselves from posting negative comments about the actress.

“Ang sarap ng feeling during this time we are with our love ones and I pitty this woman
@agot_isidro with no husband and no child,” netizen @samjonah05 said.

Isidro is not the only actress who became the subject of funny portraits online.

A funny portrait of Maris Racal has also gone viral on social media.

Both Isidro and Racal became the favorite targets of the Duterte supporters because of their statements against the government.
