OFW who criticizes Duterte says that she’s not afraid of the charges against her: “Walang sinuman ang makakapag dikta sa akin!”

The Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) who wanted to be deported by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said that she’s not afraid of the charges filed against her for being critical to President Rodrigo Duterte.

In a Facebook live video, Elanel Egot Ordidor also known as Linn Silawan on social media told her families and friends that she’s going to fight for what is right.

Ordidor also insisted that she didn’t say anything wrong on her past videos, saying that she’s only expressing her opinions about the government.

“Sa mga kamag anak ko, eto ang sasabihin ko, ilaban ko hanggang sa dulo ito, manalo man o matalo, lalaban ako, tumatayo ako sa sarili kong paa, tumatayo ako sa sarili kong prinsipyo, hindi ko kailangan hingin ang suporta niyo,” Ordidor said.

She denied that some big personalities are trying to control or fund her to criticize President Duterte.

“Patunayan muna nila ang kanilang sinasabi, bago sila magsasalita, sa mga taong nagsasabi na ako ay may sakit, dito natin patunayan, dito natin umpisahan ang pag sugpo ng kasinungaling, ngayon palang hihimukin ang mga taong nagsasabi ng malisyoso laban sa aking pagkatao, patunayan niyo ang sinasabi niyo,” she said.

The Filipina caregiver assured her fans that she’s not going to be pressured by the people against her.

“Dito natin papatunayan sa laban nating ito na hindi tayo basta basta magpasindak… kung sino ako, kung ano ako, buhay ko ang kapalit ng prinsipyo, walang sinuman magdikta sa akin, walang sinuman ang pwedeng mag dikta o magpabago sa paniniwala, laban ko ay laban ng bawat Pilipino,” the Filipina caregiver stated before ending her Facebook live.

Ordidor has gone viral on the internet because of her statements against President Duterte, calling the government ‘inutile’ and criticizing the people supporting the chief executive.

“Napaka iresponsable ng gobyerno meron tayo, napaka inutil sa totoo lang…” she said.

On April 25, DOLE asked Taiwan to deport Ordidor for her viral videos against President Duterte.

However, Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) on April 27 rejected the request of the Philippines, saying that overseas workers like Ordidor has their right protected.

On April 29, Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) chairman and resident representative Angelito Banayo issued the apology before Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) after Taiwan rejected the request of the Philippines to deport Ordidor.

“When I learned about the press statement issued in Manila, I immediately got in touch with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to apologize for the wording of whatever statement it was that talks about deportation,” Banayo said in an interview.

“Deportation is the sovereign privilege of the host country. nothing we can do about their decisions on deportation,” he added.

Lawyer says that the government can cancel the passport of the OFW critical of Pres. Duterte

A lawyer said that the Filipina caregiver who posted videos against President Rodrigo Duterte could face passport cancellation if the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is serious in punishing the latter.

On a Facebook post, Atty. Trixie Cruz-Angeles said that DOLE could just simply cancel the passport of Elanel Egot Ordidor also known as Linn Silawan on social media.

According to her, cancelling the passport of Ordidor would save time and the government doesn’t need to ask Taiwan to deport the Filipina caregiver who called the government ‘inutile’.

“If the DOLE is serious about sending Ms. Elanel Egot Ordidor home, it’s next step would be to file charges here in the Philippines and then have her passport canceled,” the lawyer said.

“When her passport is canceled there will be no need to request deportation, as she will no longer have a necessary travel document. MECO (Manila Economic and Cultural Office) will only have to notify the Immigrations authorities in Taiwan,” she added.

Cruz-Angeles also questioned why DOLE chose to file cyber libel charges to Ordidor that could give them a hard time to punish the OFW, citing that the President is required to personally file a complaint against the Filipina caregiver.

The lawyer suggested that instead of filing cyber libel, against the OFW, they should file ‘cyber inciting to sedition’ charges against Ordidor.

According to Art. 142 of the Revised Penal Code, circulating “scurrilous libels against the Republic of the Philippines or any of the duly constituted authorities,” can also be considered as inciting to sedition.

“Taiwan is a sovereign, independent country where foreign workers enjoy ‘citizen treatment,’ and their rights and interests are protected by relevant laws and regulations, including freedom of speech, which should be respected by governments of all countries,” MOFA statement reads.

“No person or institution, in this case, has the right to pressure her, her employer, or broker, nor shall she be deported without consultations held between both governments,” it added.

Pahirap lang sa mga professionals! Rep. Paolo Duterte wants to junk Trillanes’ CPD law

Davao City 1st District Representative Paolo ‘Pulong’ Duterte wanted to erase the law crafted by his political nemesis, former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV.

Four years after the enactment of Republic Act No. 10912 or the “Continuing Professional Development Act of 2016,” Duterte, who’s also a Deputy Speaker of the Congress said that it’s already time to junk the said law.

According to Duterte, Trillanes’ CPD law only gave problem to the professionals who were forced to spend money and time just to renew their licenses.

Duterte said that the Congress could help to pass another law that is better than the law crafted by the former Senator.

“While we support lifelong learning among our professionals to further their craft, the requirements set by the CPD law just adds to the burden they have to deal with. After a long day of work, they are forced to spend a bulk of their salary, take absences from work, and go through unreasonable hardships just so they can renew their licenses and continue the practice of their professions,”  the presidential son said.

“This CPD law is uncalled for. To address this, we will file a bill repealing this anti-professional measure introduced by Trillanes. We can actually help our professionals meet global standards through other means, without passing the burden to them,” he added.

Duterte also said that repealing the CPD law is the way of the lawmakers to thank the Filipino professionals for their hardwork.

“Our proposed measure is also to serve as gratitude to our professional frontliners who continuously render their service to our nation, especially in this time of crisis. We have witnessed the selfless acts of our professional frontliners. They do not deserve the CPD law,” Duterte said.

“This is long overdue. We will not just file it for the sake of filing. We will file this bill, seek support from our colleagues in Congress, and make sure that this is enacted as soon as possible,”  he added.

CPD, under the constitution, “refers to the inculcation of advanced knowledge, skills and ethical values in a post-licensure specialization or in an inter- or multidisciplinary field of study, for assimilation into professional practice, self-directed research and/or lifelong learning.”

The said law makes CPD as a mandatory requirement to professionals to renew their licenses.

CPD can be earned by taking additional training, former and non-formal.

Bloggers like RJ ‘Thinking Pinoy’ Nieto expressed their support to the move of Rep. Duterte.

Some followers of Thinking Pinoy also expressed their thoughts on the CPD, saying that it only became a business.

“Imagine, you have a PhD in your profession with 20 yrs of experience and need to attend training for CPD, listening neophytes from your crafts. CPD law is a business,” Ongayo Bao said.

“CPD law is the reason why I did not renew my engg license. It has become a milking cow of the respective organizations. Sobrang taas din ng number of points needed,” Enyllerin Osorio commented.

“CPD Law is as rubbish as the one who made it. We’ve struggled enough to get our license. He could have implemented a free CPD law to every professionals who need to renew a license,” netizen Jun Rah remarked.

Trillanes is not yet releasing a statement on the move of Duterte.

Derek Ramsay slams Spanish national who confronts cops in Makati City: “Kuya mag bago ka na! Your arrogance doesn’t help!”

Actor Derek Ramsay criticized the Spanish national who confronted the cops and argued with them about the rules of the enhanced community quarantine.

On a Facebook post, Ramsay told the foreigner identified as Javier Parra that he should respect the law enforcers as they’re trying to maintain peace and order in the country amid the COVID-19 crisis.

According to him, living in a super-exclusive subdivision doesn’t automatically make Parra a decent person.

He also urged Parra to change his attitude and appreciate the sacrifice of the frontliners.

“Show respect to our soldiers and policemen!! Just because you are rich and live in an expensive residential area makes you decent or better than everyone,” Ramsay said.

“Kuya mag bago ka na! Your arrogance doesnt help. These men and women are fighting hard for all of us so keep your mouth shut if you have nothing respectful to say,” he added.

Ramsay also slammed an online news website and called what they did as ‘bad journalism’ accusing them of trying to make the image of the law enforcers bad.

“Bad journalism!!!!! Stop making it seem that our soldiers and policemen are always the bad guys. Shouldn’t you get all the details and facts first before posting an article about the situation?” he said.

Parra is facing multiple charges and possible deportation if he was proven to be an undesirable alien in the Philippines.

A lawmaker claimed that Parra who admitted that he’s doing business in the Philippines and employing 80 people was only using tourist visa.

“Mr. Parra was only issued a tourist visa. He may already be overstaying in the Philippines. By his own admission, in the video recording released in social media, Mr. Parra employs 80 Filipinos. That is a violation of the conditions of his tourist visa which prohibits him from engaging in any form of business while in our country,” 1-PACMAN party-list Representative Eric Pineda said.

“The DFA already announced that all previously issued Philippine visas to foreign nationals are deemed cancelled. This was done so that foreign nationals will not stay in the Philippines during the COVID19 ECQ. Mr. Parra is not a permanent resident of the Philippines. If he only had a Tourist Visa, how is he staying here?” Pineda added.

The camp of Parra is not yet releasing a statement as of writing.

Turista lang pala! The foreigner who confronts the police in Dasmariñas Village found overstaying in the Philippines

A lawmaker revealed that the foreigner who confronted the members of the Makati City Police in front of his house in Dasmariñas Village is only a tourist and not a resident of the Philippines.

On Tuesday, 1-PACMAN party-list Representative Eric Pineda said that the Bureau of Immigration discovered that the foreign national identified as Javier Salvador Parra entered the country using a tourist visa and already overstaying.

Pineda also pointed out that as a tourist, Parra who claimed that he’s an investor who employed 80 Filipinos should not do any businesses here in the country.

“Mr. Parra was only issued a tourist visa. He may already be overstaying in the Philippines. By his own admission, in the video recording released in social media, Mr. Parra employs 80 Filipinos. That is a violation of the conditions of his tourist visa which prohibits him from engaging in any form of business while in our country,” Pineda said.

The lawmaker said that Parra should leave the country already as the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) temporarily suspended the visas for foreign nationals visiting the Philippines except for those who have Filipino spouses or children.

“The DFA already announced that all previously issued Philippine visas to foreign nationals are deemed cancelled. This was done so that foreign nationals will not stay in the Philippines during the COVID19 ECQ. Mr. Parra is not a permanent resident of the Philippines. If he only had a Tourist Visa, how is he staying here?” Pineda asked.

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) is not yet confirming the claims of Parra, however they said that they’re already investigating the foreigner.

Meanwhile, Makati Police already filed multiple charges against Parra including resistance and disobedience to a person in authority, unjust vexation, and for violating the Law on Reporting of Communicable Diseases.

“Hindi puwedeng binabastos ang mga pulis ng ganon-ganon lang. Sa ibang bansa, ‘pag sinagot mo lang ang pulis ay posas na ang kasunod. This is a warning to all abusadong foreigners,” Makati Police Chief Colonel Rogelio Simon said.

In the video, it showed Parra repeatedly shouted at the cops and also asked them to leave his property.

He even asked them to go to Tondo instead of guarding the said super-exclusive subdivision.

Taiwan denies DOLE’s request to deport Filipina caregiver who criticizes President Duterte and his supporters

Taiwan defended the Filipina caregiver who allegedly committed cyber libel against President Rodrigo Duterte, saying that all people, including Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), have the right to exercise her freedom of speech.

In a news report, Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) on April 27, rejected the request from PH’s Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to deport Filipina caregiver Elanel Egot Ordidor also known as Linn Silawan on social media.

According to them, Ordidor cannot be deported without any proper consultations between Taiwan and the Philippines.

Ordidor has gone viral on social media because of her videos criticizing Duterte’s enhanced community quarantine policies.

She blamed the President’s friendliness towards China as the reason why the COVID-19 reached the Philippines.

The Filipina caregiver also slammed the supporters of President Duterte and even told them to save their food as they might get hungry soon because of how the government handles the crisis.

“Napaka iresponsable ng gobyerno meron tayo, napaka inutil sa totoo lang…” she said.

DOLE already asked Taiwan to deport Ordiror, saying that she committed an illegal act against President Duterte.

“Ordidor was cooperative and cordial at first and committed to delete all her uploaded videos against the President and promised not to do it again. She also promised to upload a video of her public apology to the President and to the people in the government at 9 pm of the same day,” the DOLE statement read.

“However, hours after the visit, several posts were seen on the POLO Taichung’ Facebook page from several fake accounts assuring Ms. Ordidor’s cause and further giving her assurance of support,” they added.

Senator Nancy Binay then reminded the Labor Attache in Taiwan to assist Ordidor.

“Paalala lang po sa mga labor attaches na kayo ang kanlungan at sandigan ng ating mga OFW. Wag maging Bagong Makapili sa harap ng mga bagong bayani,” Binay tweeted.

Group Migrante International also came to defend Ordidor and condemned DOLE and Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Taichung for trying to target Filipino workers critical of President Duterte while ignoring the real issues that are faced by OFWs.

Ipa-deport kung dapat! Lacson wants the Bureau of Immigration to investigate the foreigner who confronted cops in Dasmariñas Village

Senator Panfilo Lacson asked the Bureau of Immigration (BI) to investigate the foreign national who allegedly challenged the law enforcers about the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) rules at Dasmariñas Village in Makati City.

On Monday, an online news website broke the story about the foreigner identified as Javier Parra, who was being handcuffed by the authorities for allegedly violating the ECQ rules.

In the video recorded by the cops who confronted Parra, it showed the foreigner repeatedly cursed at them and asked to leave his property.

The cops even discovered that the foreigner was drinking alcohol despite the liquor ban being implemented by the government.

Lacson slammed Parra’s “arrogant and demeaning behavior” towards the cops who were only following orders and trying to maintain peace and order amid the COVID-19 crisis.

The Senator was also saddened by the criticisms received by the cops because of the video uploaded on the internet showing Parra being forced to go with the police.

“As if this were not enough, the police officers were subjected to unfair criticisms from netizens who saw the “edited” version of the video,” Lacson said.

Lacson who’s also a former head of the Philippine National Police (PNP) said that giving jobs to the people doesn’t give them right to disrespect the law enforcers.

Parra claimed during the confrontation that he hired 80 Filipinos in his business.

According to Lacson, BI should investigate the foreigner and deport him if needed.

“On the other hand, being an “investor with 80 employees” as he claimed does not give the foreigner the right to confront and incessantly berate a police officer who is merely performing a risky duty in the manner that he did,” he said.

“The Bureau of Immigration may have to look into the matter. If a deportation proceeding is in order, they should act swiftly and decisively,” he added.

“Arrogance has no place in our country – especially so in a situation where either all of us win, or all of us lose to the COVID-19 threat,” he also said.

On Monday, the Barangay Captain of Dasmariñas Village Rossana Hwang also defended the cops, saying that Parra committed illegal actions in front of the police officers.

She also said that they stopped attempting to handcuff Parra when they got informed about the latter’s condition.

PSMS (Roland) Madrona let go of him out of humanitarian reasons. In the meantime, backup arrived. The superior of PSMS Madrona,Major Anthony Bagsik, decided to just blotter the incident because the wife was pleading with him. Major Bagsik discussed with me to summon them and have the lupon mediate between PSMS Madrona and the resident to not blow up the matter. PSMS Madrona had to follow his superior’s decision. So they thought all is well that ends well,” Hwang said.

Dasmariñas Village Captain defends the cops who attempted to handcuff foreign businessman

The Barangay Captain of Dasmariñas Village defended the members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) who clashed with a foreign resident of the super-exclusive subdivision.

On a statement, Barangay Captain Rossana Hwang said that they allowed cops to roam around the posh village since March 5, 2020, because they’re asking for assistance in implementing the enhanced community quarantine.

She then defended the cop Police Senior Master Sergeant (PSMS) Roland Madrona only reminded a maid watering plant to wear a mask, however instead of simply following the orders, the incident escalated when the owner of the house, Javier Parra where the helper was working confronted the cops.

According to Hwang, Madrona stayed calm despite being badmouthed by the Parra who even claimed that he had employed 80 Filipinos.

“PSMS Madrona reminded the staff of the resident to wear mask or she will be fined. The maid went inside the house. All of a sudden, the resident came out of the house without a mask and began cussing PSMS Madrona. PSMS Madrona was unfazed and cool and tried to explain that he was reminding them to follow the law. The Resident even pointed a dirty finger at PSMS Madrona and told him to go to Tondo and get out of his house. All the time PSMS Madrona was standing in the street. Then when he wouldn’t stop, PSMS Madrona said, “I will arrest you”,” Hwang’s statement reads.

“The resident resisted arrest and when he was about to handcuff him, the wife said he had spinal injury. PSMS Madrona let go of him out of humanitarian reasons. So they thought all is well that ends well,” she added.

However, Hwang was surprised when an online news website posted the story about the confrontation between Madrona and Parra,

She also insisted that what the cops did was legal as Parra committed illegal acts in front of the police officer and even step out of his private property to confront the cops.

“He was committing a crime in the presence of the officer and could be arrested even if he retreated to his property, barangay was advised.
Barangay was also advised that aside from Verbal Assault and Unjust Vexation, this is Violation of Art 151 of RPC for Simple Disobedience in relation to Local Ordinance requiring the wearing of face mask, and for being intoxicated outside the house. He can also be charged with violation of R.A. 11332, sec 9e for failure to follow guidelines set by DOH. – Brgy Capt Rossana Hwang of Barangay Dasmariñas,”
Hwang said.

Meanwhile, Dasmariñas Village Association said that they’re supporting the government on their policies, however, they also “recognizes the right of all residents to be secure in their houses against unwarranted intrusion by law enforcement officers.”

Sen. Nancy Binay defends OFW who might get deported because of criticizing President Duterte: “Wag kayong maging makapili!”

Senator Nancy Binay reminded the labor attaches of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Taiwan to defend the Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) who’s currently facing possible deportation because of criticizing President Rodrigo Duterte on social media.

Binay on her Twitter page shared a news article from CNN about the request of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) to Taiwan to deport Filipina caregiver Elanel Egot Ordidor because of allegedly committing a cyber libel against the Philippines’ chief executive.

She said that the labor attaches should not become the modern-day ‘Makapili’ and should assist Ordidor in her case.

“Makapili” is the group of Filipinos hired by the Japanese Imperial Army during the second world war to act as their spies and informants to catch guerillas fighting for the freedom of the Philippines.

“Paalala lang po sa mga labor attaches na kayo ang kanlungan at sandigan ng ating mga OFW. Wag maging Bagong Makapili sa harap ng mga bagong bayani,” Binay tweeted.

Some followers of Binay also criticized the move of DOLE, saying that Ordidor was only voicing out her opinion about what’s happening in her country.

“My disgust, especially to DOLE who would take time to persecute our OFWs who simply found her voice to speak out, against what she see is wrong with the governance. Your advice or paalala sums it all. Nakakahiya ang DOLE.” netizen @SyLicoNgaAko said.

“DAPAT KASI KAY DUTERTE MAG ISIP NA SYA KUNG BAKIT DUMARAMI NA ANG NAGAGALIT SA KANYA. HUWAG NILANG ISISI SA MGA TAONG PUMUPUNA SA MALI NILA. BAGKUS MAGING SANGKAP ITO PARA MAPA BUTI ANG TRABAHO NILA. MAG SIMULA MUNA SYA SA PAG MAMAHAL SA BAYAN AT SA PILIPINO,” @TabogoJoseph remarked.

Yesterday, DOLE announced that they already informed the employer of Ordidor about her statements against President Duterte.

They also expressed disappointment to the Filipina caregiver for not cooperating with DOLE.

The camp of Ordidor is not yet releasing a statement as of writing.

Dating Daan preacher Eli Soriano slams Mystica for criticizing President Duterte: “Ang sama ng bunganga mo!”

Members Church of God International (MCGI) founder Eliseo ‘Eli’ Soriano slammed Ruby Villanueva, popularly known as Mystica, for criticizing President Rodrigo Duterte.

On April 12, Soriano who’s leading an online bible study mentioned Mystica, saying that he couldn’t understand why the former actress chose to disrespect Duterte.

Soriano urged his followers not to imitate Mystica’s action, believing that the former actress committed inciting to sedition.

He even questioned why Mystica decided to support Vice President Leni Robredo,.

“Susuporta na daw siya kay Leni Robredo, ano ba ang programa ni Leni Robredo, palabasin kayo? Bigyan kayo ng kalayaan na manghawa ng mas maraming Pilipino para mapares tayo sa New York?” he said.

“Sama ng bunganga nitong babae na ito mga kapatid, lahat ng kaanib ng Iglesia ng Diyos, wag kayong papares diyan, rebeldo sa gobyerno ‘yan,” he added.

The televangelist believes that the government is doing its best to help the people affected by the crisis, however, the limited budget of the government might giving the administration difficulty to aid everyone.

“Hindi ko pinagtatangol si Presidente Duterte pero nakikita ko ‘yung kanyang genuine interest na ang tao ay mapangalagaan,” he clarified.

Soriano then explained why Mystica should be considered as an enemy of God, citing a bible verse that says “submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human authority: whether to the emperor, as the supreme authority,”

He also said that he’s not trying to impress President Duterte and only following what the bible is teaching.

A few weeks ago, Mystica received criticisms because of her videos against President Duterte.

Even Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque warned Mystica that she may face charges for what she’s doing.
