Sablay!

An international relations expert discovered something big about the tourism video released by the Department of Tourism (DOT) for their ‘Love The Philippines’ campaign.

In her series of posts, Sass Rogando Sasot revealed that some of the footage used for the 49-M campaign was not even taken in the Philippines.

According to her, some footage was only bought to a certain website for licensing and included in the commercial.

Some of the footage was taken in Thailand, Indonesia, and Dubai.

One scene shows a rice terraces thought by the netizens that was taken in the Philippines, but it turned out that it was taken in Indonesia.

Sasot couldn’t hide her disappointment with the officials of DOT for allowing the people behind ‘Love the Philippines’ to use footage from other countries.

“AT LEAST FOUR scenes in the new #LoveThePhilippines tourism video of the Department of Tourism – Philippines are NOT FRESH VIDEOS but STOCK FOOTAGES,” she said.

As of writing, DOT has yet to give any statement on the revelation made by Sasot.

It can be recalled that the ‘Love the Philippines’ campaign already became controversial because of its timing.

“Sa dami ng mga kailangang nating unahin at i-prioritize na pagkagastusan, we don’t have sufficient funds to finance a re-brand,” Sen. Nancy Binay said.

Ellen Adarna reveals the amount of child support she requested to John Lloyd Cruz

Ellen Adarna talked about the financial support being sent by her former partner John Lloyd Cruz to their son Elias.

In an interview, Ellen, who’s a member of one of the richest families in Cebu, surprised the netizens after revealing the amount of child support that John Lloyd needs to be fulfilled monthly for their son.

According to Ellen, she only asked for P10,000 monthly from John Lloyd because that’s the only amount Elias needed for his basic needs.

“When he asked me, how much does Elias need, I gave him a breakdown of his basic needs, just his basic needs, and that’s 10,000 pesos max.” said Ellen.

However, John Lloyd insisted on doubling the amount she asked.

“I know he’s more than capable of giving more than that, but I told him I cannot accept anything more than PHP20,000, and that’s it. I also have, because we are co-parenting, I have my obligations and responsibilities for Elias, so it’s just fair,” she said.

“So, there. Anything more than PHP20,000 for me is just not right, morally not right because he’s not schooling yet. He hasn’t started school, so that’s just basic needs.” she added.

Netizens praised Ellen and John Lloyd for not having an argument about finances.

They also gave positive comments to John Lloyd for being a responsible father.

TVJ and ‘legit Dabarkads’ breaks the record of having most concurrent viewership for a noontime show in PH

TVJ and ‘Legit Dabarkads’ already made another history by breaking the record for the most concurrent viewers for a noontime show in the country.

It was reported that the newest noontime show of the former Eat Bulaga hosts, ‘E.A.T,’ reached more than 550,000 concurrent viewers on just two platforms, Facebook with 330,000 and Youtube with 250,000.

The viewers peaked during the performance of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon after arriving at their new studio on TV5.

They broke the previous record held by their competitor ‘It’s Showtime,’ which achieved 255,000 concurrent viewers during the Grand Finale of Tawag ng Tanghalan in 2023.

However, several It’s Showtime fans insisted that ‘E.A.T’ didn’t maintain its high online viewership while It’s Showtime still enjoyed 230,000 concurrent viewers on three different platforms.

Observers are more curious about how the transfer of TVJ to TV5 would change the rating contest, especially since the three programs were now competing against each other.

They’re also waiting for how the rivalry between TVJ and It’s Showtime would affect the popularity of TAPE Inc’s Eat Bulaga.

Meanwhile, TVJ was still waiting for the decision of the Intellectual Property Office on who’s the rightful owner of the ‘Eat Bulaga’ trademark.

Vic Sotto hints about the title of their show: “Ang title po namin ay ang title na alam niyo kung ano ang tawag sa amin,”

Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon addressed their fans during the closing statement of their new noontime show on TV5.

During their speech, Vic hinted that they’re still hoping that the rights to use the ‘Eat Bulaga’ title would be granted to them someday.

“Dabarkads, hinihintay parin namin ang pag-uwi ng pangalan na itinawag sa amin for almost 44 years,” Sotto said, hinting about their trademark issue with TAPE Inc.

“Sa ngayon Dabarkads, ang mahalaga ay sama-sama kami, sama-sama tayo, may nagkalinga po sa amin noong panahon na hindi namin alam kung paano o saan kami dadalhin ng tadhana.

“Ang title po namin ay ang title na alam niyo kung ano ang tawag sa amin,” he added.

Currently, Dabarkads would use the ‘E.A.T’, a title with many interpretations.

It can be recalled that TVJ couldn’t use the title ‘Eat Bulaga’ for their new show after their former production company TAPE Inc. registered it as their own trademark without informing the legendary trio.

It was published many times that Joey was the one who invented the title.

“Something came up sa aking utak in 1979 while having coffee sa kusina ni Tito sa White Plains. I was in the company of a certain Jess Espiritu. Hmmm, JESUS and HOLY SPIRIT? Salamat po,” said Joey.

“And what do you do in a canteen? Of course, EAT! And that became my appetizer to help me through until I came up with a delicious title – Eat Bulaga!” he added.

Vic already said that they’re not planning to give up the title to TAPE Inc.

TVJ couldn’t stop being emotional after realizing the support they received from their fans.

“Ang pinakamabigat na tumatak samin, eh ‘yung nalaman namin na mahal niyo kami,” Joey said.

Nadulas? Joey de Leon calls Pauleen Luna ‘buntis’ to join their performance

Pauleen Luna joined the Dabarkads during their performance of ‘Rock, Baby, Rock’ on the first episode of their new noontime show E.A.T.

However, during the performance, netizens quickly noticed Joey de Leon calling Pauleen ‘buntis’ while calling her to join the group.

“Hoy buntis!” Joey told Pauleen.

There’s no other pregnant woman on the stage, and only Pauleen is rumored to be having a second baby with her partner Vic Sotto.

In the past few days, pregnancy rumors about Pauleen circulated, especially when netizens noticed the changes in her body.

Netizens believed that Pauleen’s reason why she was not actively joining the Dabarkads was because of her pregnancy.

Vic was expected to address the rumors before the first episode of E.A.T ended.

It can be recalled that Vic and Pauleen were already planning to have a baby due to their firstborn Tali Sotto’s request.

“Tuwing magdadasal sa gabi, parating, ‘Papa Jesus, thank You for my dad, thank You for my mom. Can You please give me a baby sister or baby brother?’” Vic revealed.

Joey de Leon talks about their small studio: “Ang importante sama sama tayo”

Joey de Leon couldn’t stop being emotional while talking about their new studio on TV5.

In the first episode of their new noontime show ‘E.A.T,’ Joey admitted that their current TV studio on TV5 in Mandaluyong City was smaller than their former place in APT Studios, Cainta.

“Mga Kaibigan, for the record lang po.. Tatapatin namin kayo, maliit lang talaga itong studio na ginagamit namin sa ngayon,” Joey said. “Alam niyo, sa buhay natin hindi importante ‘yung laki, kahit maliit ‘yung bahay ang importante sama sama tayo,”

“Wag kayong mag-alala, kami naman ang pupunta sa bahay niyo,” he added.

It’s not yet known if TV5 will find a bigger studio for E.A.T. as the former noontime show of TVJ was known for having many live audiences in the past.

Vic Sotto also told the Eat Bulaga fans to stay home for a while as they couldn’t accommodate many studio guests for now.

“Marami kaming inihanda kaya diyan lang kayo dahil hindi tayo kasya rito, pero pwede naman nating pagkasyahin ang buong Pilipinas,” Vic said.

Despite having a small studio, TVJ’s show dominated the social media game and reached 300,000 live viewers on social media.

Observers expected that TVJ would still get high ratings despite transferring network.

Several netizens who were using GMA Affordabox claimed that they couldn’t watch the noontime show of TVJ, ‘E.A.T’ on TV5 because of poor signal.

In several tweets, netizens aired their complaints against the GMA-owned Digital Receiver and accused the Kapuso Network of sabotaging the first episode of E.A.T

“Ganda kaya ng signal ng TV sa skycable, cignal, sattlite at antenna pero sa affordabox ang labo… bakit kaya,” netizen Joyclene said.

A netizen even tried to post the comparison between the TV5’s reception on antenna and affordabox.

The netizen questioned why the signal of TV5 in antenna was better than the modern digital box.

“Yung biglang nawalan ng signal yung affordabox namin aside sa tv5, jusme anyare po?” netizen @maumaumau remarked.

Aliw nag dadabog sila lola kasi nawala sa affordabox yung tv5 HAHAHAHAH hindi daw n’ya mapapanood sila maine,” netizen Pau posted.

As of writing, GMA Network has yet to give a statement about the poor signal of TV5 on their digital box.

TVJ and ‘legit Dabarkads’ kinanta ang bagong bersyon ng Eat Bulaga theme song sa E.A.T

Netizens and televiewers were surprised that TVJ and the so-called ‘Legit Dabarkads’ used the original theme song of Eat Bulaga on their new show on TV5.

Netizens noticed a significant change in the iconic song originally written in 1982 by Vincent Dy Buncio, Pancho Oppus, Vic Sotto and Homer Flores.

While most of the lyrics were similar to Eat Bulaga theme song, TVJ and its hosts replaced Eat Bulaga with E.A.T to avoid possible trademark issues with TAPE Inc.

The hosts can also be seen laughing while trying to adjust to the big change in the theme song they sang for decades.

It can be recalled that TAPE Inc. claimed the rights to use Eat Bulaga title, forcing TVJ to ask the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) to resolve who’s the rightful owner of the trademark.

TVJ insisted that the title ‘Eat Bulaga’ was invented by Joey de Leon, but now currently registered under TAPE Inc.

The first episode of the new noontime show of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon and other former Eat Bulaga hosts was considered a success.

It can be recalled that hosts and some staff left Eat Bulaga and GMA Network to be with TVJ on May 31, 2023, but it seems that not only them followed the legendary trio.

Some familiar advertisers can also be seen supporting the show, including grocery giant Puregold.

Here are the other sponsors of E.A.T

  • Ritemed,
  • Alaxan,
  • Ceelin Plus,
  • Solmux Advance,
  • ImmunPro,
  • Lalamove,
  • Cignal,
  • Zonrox,
  • Palawan Express
  • Smart/TNT
  • Hanabishi
  • Hapee
  • Bingo Plus
  • Dartek
  • PLDT Home
  • Kopiko
  • McDonald’s

Meanwhile, the competitor of E.A.T, ‘Eat Bulaga’ has reportedly had problems with their sponsors, and some of them demanded to return the money they paid after the sudden rebranding of the noontime show.

Having problems with sponsors might become a valid reason for TAPE Inc. to cancel their contract with GMA, as they’re paying millions of pesos every month to air their show on the Kapuso Network.

Meanwhile, observers believed that GMA has not problem with replacing Eat Bulaga as they’re also having contract to air ABS-CBN’s top-rated noontime show ‘It’s Showtime’ which already competing with TVJ for many years.

Eat Bulaga, nilangaw sa tapatan ng E.A.T at It’s Showtime sa social media

Rebranded Eat Bulaga lost the social media contest between their two competitors, TVJ’s new noontime show ‘E.A.T’ and It’s Showtime.

During the live stream of the three shows, TVJ led the count of live viewers, reaching more than 300,000 viewers and followed by ‘It’s Showtime’ with 100,000 viewers.

Meanwhile, Eat Bulaga only reached 3,000 viewers, making them the least-watched noontime show among the three on social media.

The return of the TVJ on national television might give a big problem to TAPE Inc., which was reportedly already struggling with keeping up with its advertisers and ratings.

Furthermore, It’s Showtime’s contract with GMA was rumoured to be a backup plan for the network if ever that Eat Bulaga fails to compete with TVJ.

Observers believed that It’s Showtime was a more worthy competitor for E.A.T and should be put on the GMA channel instead of GTV.

People are also waiting if TVJ would be given rights to use the title Eat Bulaga in the future.
