Paolo Contis raised the eyebrows of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon’s fans during his closing statement of Eat Bulaga’s episode on Saturday, July 29, 2023.

The host said that while he was only a new host of Eat Bulaga he was already part of the noontime show’s 44-year journey as an audience and celebrity guest.

He believed that no individual owned Eat Bulaga.

“Ang tanong, sino ba ang nagmamay-ari ng Eat Bulaga? Ang sagot, lahat po tayo kasi sa 44 years lahat po tayo ay naging bahagi nito” Paolo said.

Paolo also responded to the people who said that they have no contribution to the success of the show.

“Hindi po maiiwasan may mga magsasabi na wala kaming ambag dahil bago lamang po kami dito, pero ang mahalaga ay lahat naman ay ginagawa namin para ipagpatuloy ang pagbibigay ng saya at tulong sa inyo,” he stated.

He insisted that they were not ‘fake’ and that his intention to help people was pure.

Some Eat Bulagah hosts couldn’t stop themselves from becoming emotional while listening to Paolo’s statement.

It can be recalled that E.A.T host Tito Sotto said that the new hosts of the longest-running noontime show had no right to celebrate the 44th anniversary of Eat Bulaga.

“Kami orig na may karapatan mag-celebrate. From TAPE people and current hosts, none of them were there 44 years ago,” said Sotto.

“Ano itatapat nila eh wala naman sila doon in the last 43 years? Feb lang pumasok mga new officers then June ito mga bagitong hosts,” he added.

Baeby Baste and Broadway Boys reunite with Dabarkads on E.A.T

The special episode of E.A.T turned into a ‘Nostalgia’ trip after they invited several people who became part of the 44-year journey of the TVJ.

The so-called ‘Solid Dabarkads’ couldn’t hide their happiness after Sebastian Benedict Granfon, popularly known as ‘Baeby Baste’ and the Broadway Boys reunited with the former Eat Bulaga hosts during the Saturday episode of E.A.T.

During the special episode of E.A.T, Baste performed a song while his memories with the Dabarkads were being presented in the background.

Baste became Dabarkads eight years ago and netizens were surprised after seeing the young television host all grown up now.

“Laki na ni Baste grabe. Nabubuking na talaga edad ko,” netizen Paw said.

Three members of Broadway Boys, Joshua Lumbao, Benidict Aboyme, and Francis Aglabtin also performed during the said episode.

The group became popular regular weekend performers of Eat Bulaga in 2017 after winning the Lola’s Playlist contest of the noontime show.

Wow. Great to see Broadway Boys again. They sounded good!” netizen Star commented.

Observers believed that TVJ was trying to show that they had more rights to celebrate the 44th anniversary of Eat Bulaga by inviting the people who became part of it through the years.

They also noticed that all hosts of E.A.T were wearing a shirt where a number was imprinted to indicate how many years they have been Dabarkads.

Only Zombie was wearing a shirt without a number because he was only a new host.

People are expecting that more surprise guests would appear on the special episode of E.A.T, which was believed to be the way of TVJ to celebrate the 44th anniversary of their former show.

Isko Moreno dedicates Eat Bulaga episode to affected families of bad weather: “It’s not always about the host, it’s always about the viewers”

Television and Production Exponents (TAPE) Inc. celebrated the 44th anniversary of Eat Bulaga on July 29, 2023, despite the opposition from the original hosts of the show, Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon.

Paolo Contis and Isko Moreno lead the opening statement of the episode and pointed out that despite the changes that happened in Eat Bulaga, their mission to help and make people happy would still remain.

“Mahalaga po ang araw na ito sa Eat Bulaga, 44 years ago simulan po ng Eat Bulaga ang pagbibigay ng saya, lumipas man po ang panahon sa kahit ano mang pagkakataon maiba man po ang mga artistang humaharap sa inyo araw araw.. Ang hindi po mababago ay ang hangarin ng Eat Bulaga na magbigay ng saya,” said Paolo.

In his opening statement, Isko expressed his sympathy for the affected families of the bad weather and dedicated the said episode to them.

“Ngayong selebrasyon ng Eat Bulaga ay alay namin sa inyo para mapangiti lang kayo kahit papaano,” he said.

He also narrated their experiences when they were still starting as hosts of Eat Bulaga after the original hosts left the show on May 31, 2023.

“Noong nag-uumpisa pa lamang kami bilang bagong mga host, ang ipinangako namin sa inyo ay kayo ang laging dahilan kung bakit kami naririto, dahil sa inyong manonood,” he said.

“Sabi nga namin, it’s not always about the host, it’s always about the viewers. Kayo sa studio, kayong mga manonood sa kaniya-kaniyang tahanan palagi niyo kaming isinasama sa inyong tanghalian, napakaraming salamat po sa inyong lahat,” he added.

Isko also made a joke about their opening performance.

“Kala niyo kayo lang ha, kami may orchestra pa,” Isko quipped.

Eat Bulaga showcases their new theme song: “Dahil 44 na tayo

Eat Bulaga revealed their new theme song on the 44th anniversary of their show.

During the opening statement of the longest-running noontime show, Eat Bulaga host Paolo Contis said that they made the said song to fit modern times.

He said that the new theme song was their gift to the people on the 44th anniversary of their show.

“Gusto namin fresh lang kaya mas pinaganda namin ang kantang ito na akma sa mas bagong panahon at sa bagong panlasa pero ang puso at hangarin ng Eat Bulaga siyempre hindi po ‘yan mawawala,” said Paolo.

“Kalakip ito ng kanta dahil siyempre nilikha ito para sa inyo all for you dahil 44 na tayo,” he added.

The song was performed by the new hosts including Paolo and Isko Moreno.

Television and Production Exponents (TAPE) Inc. decided to change the theme song of their noontime show amid the copyright infringement filed by Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon against them.

One of the requests of the legendary trio was to stop TAPE from using artistic elements of Eat Bulaga including its title and theme song that was written by Vic.

Meanwhile, TVJ was using a different version of the original Eat Bulaga theme song on their current show E.A.T.

They shared a statement from Arjo and Maine that they included on the invitation they sent to their guests about their decision to convert the gifts that they were supposed to receive from the wedding into donations.

“In lieu of presents, we would appreciate extending your help fund a donation drive that we are planning to do after our wedding. Nonito Donaire Sr. predicts that his son Nonito Donaire Jr. will lose in his upcoming boxing match

Boxing coach Nonito Donaire Sr. predicted that his son, 4-division champion world Nonito ‘The Filipino Flash’ Donaire would lose against his upcoming opponent Alexandro Santiago of Mexico on July 29, 2023.

In the vlog by Filipino boxer Mike Plania, the older Donaire said that his 40-year-old son would be knocked out by Santiago.

“Knock out tong si Donaire,” the coach said.

Netizens were waiting for Donaire Jr, who has 42 wins, 7 losses and 28 knockouts would defy father time by defeating the 27-year-old Santiago, who has 27 wins, 3 losses, and 14 knockouts.

However, Plania said that they were just joking and netizens should not take it seriously.

It can be recalled that Donaire Sr. called his son ‘ungrateful’ for abandoning him despite the help he gave to make The Filipino Flash a world champion in boxing.

“I can’t believe that you raised a kid and now that he has more money than his parents, can afford to raised his voice toward his father who molded him of what he is right now. I was talking about Nonito Jr. The UNGRATEFUL SON. He was a jobless man until he became a world champion.” Donaire Sr. stated.

“For 24 years I feed him but when he became a world champion he left me and not even telling me that he hired another trainer.” he added.

Television and Production Exponents (TAPE) Inc. announced that they prepared many surprises for their fans on the 44th-anniversary celebration of Eat Bulaga on July 29.

Through a promo video, Eat Bulaga hosts Paolo Contis and Isko Moreno hinted that they’re going to give a house and lot and one million pesos to lucky viewers of the show.

Aside from the big prizes, they’re also preparing to give cellphones and P44,000 to seven lucky winners.

The said move was interpreted by the observers to boost the ratings of Eat Bulaga as it might clash with TVJ who hinted that they’re going to celebrate the 44th anniversary of the longest-running noontime show on their new program E.A.T.

Fans also expected to hear the new theme song of Eat Bulaga that would replace one that was written by Vic Sotto.

It can be recalled that TVJ asked the court to stop TAPE from using artistic elements of Eat Bulaga including its title and theme song.

They believed that E.A.T would also give many prizes this Saturday to counter the strategy of TAPE.

TVJ also declared July 29 as ‘National Dabarkads Day’ and encouraged their fans to support the show’s special episode.

Joey de Leon mentions new record of TVJ: ‘Kami lang ang katapat ang sarili naming show!’

E.A.T host Joey de Leon took another swipe against Eat Bulaga days before the celebration of the 44th anniversary of their former noontime show.

In his tweet, Joey said that they’re created another unique record by competing with their ‘own’ show.

“We are breaking records! We are the only show na katapat ang sarili naming show!” said Joey.

“And on Saturday, July 29, we will have a “double celebration!” he added.

Joey might be referring to the possible clash between TVJ and TAPE Inc. that might both celebrate the 44th anniversary of Eat Bulaga.

It can be recalled that Tito Sotto stated that the new Eat Bulaga had no right to celebrate the 44th anniversary of the show.

“Kami orig na may karapatan mag-celebrate. From TAPE people and current hosts, none of them were there 44 years ago,” said Sotto.

“Ano itatapat nila eh wala naman sila doon in the last 43 years? February lang pumasok mga new officers then June ito mga bagitong hosts,”  he added.

TVJ also hinted that they’re going to celebrate the 44th anniversary of Eat Bulaga on their own way.

During the closing spiel of TV Patrol, the veteran journalist surprised his co-hosts after he took a swipe against the celebration of Arjo and Maine while many people were affected by the bad weather.

“Habang kayo kinakasal, kawawa naman ang mga binabagyo,” De Castro said.

Karen Davila and Bernadette Sembrano quickly reacted to De Castro’s comment.

Despite the reaction from his colleagues, De Castro still continued giving his side comment, saying that the bad weather might be extended because of another low-pressure area that may arrive in the country in the upcoming days.

According to National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) 180,439 individuals were affected by the bad weather.

2,421 families were affected in Cordillera region where the star-studded wedding happened.

The journalist also said that only the poor people were affected by the bad weather.

“Ang mahirap kasi diyan ay ‘yung mga mahihirap ang nagiging biktima,” said De Castro. “Yung mayayaman at may pera, hindi.”

As of writing, Maine and Arjo have yet to give a response to De Castro’s side comment.
