Shaira, nahaharap nanaman sa bagong copyright issue

The ‘Queen of Bangsamoro pop’ Shaira Moro was facing another copyright issue for her other song ‘Forever Single.’

Several X users noticed that another popular song made by Shaira was copied from the Indonesian Band Papinka’s song, “Masih Mencintainya.”

According to them, the composer of “Forever Single,” didn’t even try to ask for permission before using the sample of the song.

Some of them also criticized the lyrics of the song, which, according to them, created a stigma for people who refused to be married in their late 20s.

“The lyrics may be light-hearted but the message is yuck and outdated. It implies that singleness is a curse. My more broad-minded friends, both single and married, will surely object,” a netizen said.

“Wow the lyrics are even off. Yun na yun? Definition natin sa isang pagkatao magjowa before 30 or magsisisi ka?” another netizen commented.

However, some fans reminded the critics that Shaira’s local fanbase was located in the Bangsamoro region where the culture was different.

It can be recalled that Shaira was facing copyright issues after her song “Selos,” was noticed by netizens as almost the same with Australian singer Lenka’s “Trouble is a Friend,”

A public school teacher in Aringay, La Union was facing a possible cancellation of her teaching license after she was caught doing a bizarre act with one of her students inside their classroom.

According to the report, the teacher’s family noticed that she had yet to come home and was not responding to their text messages, which prompted them to rush to the school where she was teaching.

When they arrived, they were dazed by the act they witnessed as they saw the teacher and her student without any clothes inside the classroom.

The husband of the teacher then called the authorities to file charges against his wife and his student-lover.

As of writing, the Department of Education (DepEd) has yet to give any statement on the incident, but many people believed that the teaching career of the teacher was over.

The same teacher also received a complaint last January for badly treating one of her students.

Claudine Barretto answered the allegations that she was the one who prevented Jodi Sta. Maria from attending the birthday party of former Star Magic manager, Johnny “Mr. M” Manahan.

In an interview, Claudine said she was unaware that Jodi also received an invitation from Mr. M.

According to Claudine, it was also Jodi’s right to celebrate Mr. M’s birthday as the latter also received mentorship from the showbiz icon.

“Kasi ano po, she has as much right to be there as I am… as I should be there. So, hindi po totoo yun. Wala po akong ganung power para gawin yun. Hindi talaga,” she said.

The rumors started to circulate when talent manager Ogie Diaz claimed that Jodi’s invitation was canceled due to the closeness of Claudine and Mr. M.

“Ang nakarating sa akin kinansel, dinis-invite. Inimbita pero kinansel kasi raw mas pinaboran ‘yung presensya ni Claudine Barretto who happens to be one of the pioneer at anak-anakan ni Mr. M para raw hindi na mag-clash doon sa loob (venue) kasi nga may issue sila, di ba?” Ogie said.

It can be recalled that Jodi was in a relationship with Raymart Santiago, who’s Claudine’s former husband.

Claudine even took a swipe against Jodi, calling the latter as ‘bad influence’.

Ongoing yung annulment namin, pero delay nang delay yung deadline ni Raymart for support, and he’s trying to get custody. Sixteen years old na si Santino, 19 na si Sabina. And hindi ko alam kung bakit gusto niya ng custody,” said Claudine.

Dati oo, meron.

Lenka already said that they have already taken action about the possible copyright infringement committed by Shaira, but some fans of the latter believed that the Australian singer must instead be thankful for the popularity she got because of Selos.

“Hi, you should be thankful to Shaira because your song is trending now. Tbh, I don’t even know that you are singer,” a netizen said.

“Hi Lenka! Because of that song a lot people now recognizes you. I hope you won’t take it in a bad way,” another netizen told the singer.

Meanwhile, Shaira was still continuing creating new songs, but some netizens advised the singer to create her own songs and melodies to avoid another copyright issue to happen.

Vice President and Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Sara Duterte gave her thoughts on the teacher who went viral on social media after she publicly called out her students while doing a livestream on social media.

In an interview during her visit to Cambodia, Duterte said that she already ordered the regional office where the teacher, @serendipitylover, was teaching, not to penalize her.

According to her, she had already talked to the teacher, and she was asked to control her emotions the next time.

“Tao lang tayo lahat. Lahat tayo inaabutan ng galit. Pinasabihan ko ‘yung teacher tumigil muna siya ‘pag galit,” she said.

It can be recalled that the said teacher received both criticism and support on social media due to the statements she uttered to her students.

“Hindi ako nandito para gawin ninyong tau-tauhan ang gawin niyong robot at gawin niyong katatawanan sa harapan,” said the teacher while recording herself on camera.

“Hindi ako nag board exam para hindi lang i-respeto ng mga wala pa namang nararating sa buhay,” she added.

She even called the students ‘ugaling squatter’ to describe their attitude.

Influencer Madam Kilay even said that the teacher should stop judging the future of her students based on their current attitude.

“Hindi natin pwedeng husgahan ang tao kahit simo mang poncio pilato ‘yan. Wag tayong maghuhusga sa kasalukuyang estado nila. So pa’no magsisipag ‘yan? Paano sila makikinig sa’yo kung ikaw mismo dina-down sila,” she stated.

A teacher went viral on social media after he called out the current generation of students in the country, calling them irresponsible.

In his Facebook post, teacher Berlin Celoza compared his era to the current students, saying that they don’t even know the realities of responsibility.

According to him, the current generation was pampered as they’re not allowed to be scolded by teachers or to receive failed grades.

He also reminded the people that teachers also have limits.

Celoza wrote the message amid criticism received by another teacher who went viral on social media after she scolded her students while livestreaming.

The said teacher may face suspension for not following the current rules of the Department of Education (DepEd).
