Content creator Joel Mondina, popularly known as ‘Pambansang Kolokoy’ made another video to address his former partner, Grace Mondina a.k.a Miss Grace.

In a video he uploaded on April 2, 2024, Joel expressed his frustration on why his former partner was still criticizing him despite him not talking about their past relationship already.

Joel insisted that he never fail to support his children in America, despite him, working in the Philippines due to lack of opportunities abroad.

“Kung ano-ano ang mga pinagsasabi mo sa social media para bumagsak ako, then dare you goes, congratulations, bumagsak ang social media ko. Halos wala na akong kitain,” he said.

“Kaya mas pinili ko nalang na mag-stay dito sa Pilipinas, atleast dito may raket ako. Para ma-sustentuhan ko ‘yong mga anak ko sa’yo,” he added.

Joel also insisted that he never cheated on Grace, saying that they were already in the process of getting divorced when he decided to enter into a new relationship.

“Bago pa kita iniwan, nag file ka na ng divorce. Kaso nung nalaman mong nakikipag-date na ako, may kinakausap na ako, kinansel mo yang divorce na yan. Yan ang katotohanan,” he stated.

It can be recalled that Joel and Grace already announced the end of their relationship last year.

The separation between them has ended the popular tandem between them, which made them gain millions of social media followers.

Veteran columnist Cristy Fermin believed that It’s Showtime would never surpass Eat Bulaga despite its transfer to GMA Network.

In her online show, Cristy addressed the comments from some fans of It’s Showtime who expressed their confidence in It’s Showtime’s dominance on the television ratings.

According to Cristy, Eat Bulaga would still remain the king of noontime shows.

“Wala nang dapat pang patunayan ang ‘Eat Bulaga’ at ‘Dabarkads.’ Ano pa ba? ‘Di ba? Sila nga ang may hawak ng korona, e,”  she said.

She also called out It’s Showtime fans for making the competition between Eat Bulaga and It’s Showtime personal.

“Alam mo ‘yung hindi masasatsat, ‘yung wala na silang iniisip at wala na kasing dapat pang patunayan. ‘Yun ‘yung mga tahimik lang. Hindi ‘yung kung anu-anong sasabihin, bardagulan dito, personalan dyan. Hindi na po uso ‘yan ngayon. Hindi na talaga,” she said.

Meanwhile, Cristy gave her thoughts on It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda’s indirect criticism against her, saying that the comedian should stop being sensitive.

“Mali ‘yung umaariba nanaman ang kahambugan ni Vice Ganda, iko-correct ko lang ‘yon, hindi naman po talaga nawala ‘yon, ‘yun naman talaga imahe niya, kabangan, mapagpatutsada,” she said.

It can be recalled that Cristy was mentioned several times by Vice on It’s Showtime due to the columnist’s criticism against him.

Vice even said he would release a song about a certain ‘gossiper,’ which some netizens believed to be Cristy.

Several netizens questioned the legitimacy of the story behind the April Fool’s joke launched by a Takoyaki Shop.

It can be recalled that the Taragis Takoyaki Shop went viral after they published a photo of the man who took their prank seriously.

They also initially refused to pay P100,000, but after several hours of receiving criticisms on social media, Taragis finally waived and gave the money to the man.

While the issue became one of the most discussed topics this month, some netizens expressed skepticism about the story’s legitimacy.

Netizen Chonna Mae called out Taragis for deleting her comment, saying that she only tried to point out the inconsistency of the story.

According to her, it would be impossible for the man to get the tattoo done in just 30 minutes.

She also noticed that the tattoo was not fresh anymore.

Internet celebrity Xian Gaza also said the same thing, saying that people was wasting their time on the said issue.

“Hindi fresh yung tattoo sa noo, it means matagal na o henna lang. Hindi rin marunong umarte si Kuya. Halatang scripted. Publicity stunt lamang. Gigil na gigil pa man din kayo Hahahaha! Sayang yung galit niyo,” he said.

The owner of the business, Carl Quion, promoted his business by starting several challenges and uploading videos on social media.

In a now-deleted statement, Taragis refused to be liable for the incident, but some brands didn’t waste the opportunity to gain brand exposure by helping the said man.

Several businesses pledged a certain amount to help the man; some even promised to give P100,000 to him.

Some businesses like Project Glow Up, and ChizMozza said that they would give P100,000 to the man.

Content creators like Atty. Anselmo S. Rodiel IV who also discussed the incident also promised to give P10,000.

Meanwhile, the business behind the said prank decided just to give P100,000 and also apologized for their previous statements.

“Kaya sa mga nagkaroon ng negatibong pananaw sa naging April Fools’ post namin, humihingi ako ng tawad,” said Quion.

“At sana magsilbing aral ito sa ating lahat, lalo na sa mga kapwa influencers ko o brand na nasa internet na maging responsable tayo sa lahat ng ina-upload natin,” he added.

It can be recalled that a man thought that the challenge published by the Taragis Takoyaki shop was serious, so he decided to tattoo the shop logo on his forehead, hoping to receive P100,000.

At first, the establishment was not willing to give P100,000, but fortunately, its owner, Carl Quion, decided to give the money to the man.

In a video, Quion visited the man who was a resident of North Caloocan for an interview.

During the interview, Quion asked the man why he put Taragis’ logo on his forehead for the said amount of money.

Veteran television host Joey de Leon was reportedly having a hard time adjusting from managing his own production company.

According to Philippine Star Ngayon columnist Salve Asis, Joey was rumored to experience frustrations as he was required to handle the finances of TVJ Productions, which currently manages Eat Bulaga on TV5.

The high expectations for Eat Bulaga and the increasing competition also contributed to the pressure faced by TVJ Productions officials.

“Tulad daw kasi sa ibang negosyo, sa simula talagang kailangan mo munang mag-shell out para sa mga gastusin ng programa,” Asis wrote.

Asis also asked Joey if he had disagreements with his co-host and longtime friend, Vic Sotto about money.

“At totoo rin ba na minsan, nagkakaroon sila ng disagreements ni Vic Sotto dahil sa issue ng pera? Mas sanay raw kasi si tito Joey na tumanggap kesa maglabas ng datung?” she wrote.

It can be recalled that Joey won the rights of the Eat Bulaga title trademark after several months of legal battle against their former production company Television and Production Exponents Incorporated (TAPE Inc.)

Joey was the known inventor of the Eat Bulaga title, making him one of the most important people on the longest-running noontime show.

Some netizens suspected the viral April Fool’s prank issue involving a Japanese street food chain was only a publicity stunt.

It can be recalled that Taragis Ta-Q-Yaki posted a photo and challenged anyone who would tattoo their brand and logo on their forehead in exchange for P100,000.

While they made it clear that it was only an April Fool’s prank, a man still decided to do the challenge and was now demanding to pay him.

Unfortunately, Taragis refused to pay the man, saying that it was not their fault if some people lacked reading comprehension.

However, some netizens believed in the possibility that the said issue was only a stunt to gain the attention of the netizens.

They mentioned similar cases of people tattooing their foreheads in exchange for a reward that had already happened in the United States.

Last April 1, 2023, Joe Bell claimed that he had tattooed the name of a local radio station, believing that he would receive a reward for doing the challenge.

However, the radio station told him that the challenge was only part of their April Fool’s Prank.

In the end, the judge awarded Joe $510,000.

As of writing, Taragis has yet to clarify if they’re really serious with their post.

A vlogger and lawyer discussed the viral April Fool’s Day prank gone wrong.

On April 1, 2024, a man reportedly tattooed the logo of an establishment on his forehead after he read a post from a popular Japanese street food chain, Taragis Ta-Q-Yaki, which indicated that they would reward P100,000 to anyone who would fulfill the challenge.

The establishment refused to give P100,000 pesos to the man and insisted that it was the fault of people who didn’t have reading comprehension.

“After that, we received a number of messages claiming that our post was executed and that someone had taken it seriously. Let this serve as a reminder to us all how important reading comprehension is. It’s April Fool’s Day. Never trust anything or anyone. The same as any other day,” the management wrote.

According to Atty. Anselmo Rodiel IV, Taragis Ta-Q-Yaki had no liability to pay the P100,000, saying that there was no perfected contract between the establishment and the man.

“With that being said, basic reading comprehension po. Wala pong naging perfected contract. Unang-una makikita nating hindi complete ‘yong offer. Kasi nga inilagay niya may official rule, tapos hindi naman nakalagay doon sa pinaka-post. Paano siya magiging complete offer ‘diba?” the lawyer said.

The establishment also made it clear that their post was a joke.
