Episode Bar + Restaurant, dumistansya na sa motivational speaker Rendon Labador: “Spread love and positivity!”

Controversial restaurant Episode Bar + Kitchen announced that they were parting ways with motivational speaker Rendon Labador.

In a statement, the controversial restaurant, which was heavily promoted by Labador, revealed that another party had acquired their business.

Following the acquisition, one of the changes made by the management was to remove Labador and to promote ‘positivity’ among their customers.

“Following this change, Mr. Rendon Labador has severed all associations with Episode Bar + Kitchen,” the restaurant said.

“This transformation allows us to further enhance our dedication to our core values of positivity, excellent service, and delectable food. These values remain the backbone of Episode Bar + Kitchen, guiding our way forward independent of past affiliations,” they added.

Aside from severing ties with Labador, the restaurant also announced that their ‘rice’ is now P50.

It can be recalled that negative reviews had swarmed the restaurant because of its connection to Labador, who’s known for his antics.

Netizens praised the decision of Episode to part ways with Labador.

“If this is true ….BEST decision ever! Negativity + food biz will never work out. Paano kayo manliligaw ng customers if the previous image endorser keeps on projecting negative vibes and casting destructive criticisms on social media. I agree with purging all the negative vibes of EP. Good luck and hoping that your bizz will thrive better!” netizen Cynthia said.

“Well good decision for the long run, para di na ma-damage yung image ng resto and more customers will come and enjoy the resto. Hindi na magiging dahilan ang isang tao para walang pumunta,” netizen Mark remarked.

As of writing, Rendon has yet to comment on the decision of his former restaurant.

Lea Salonga went viral in the past few days after a video showing her lecturing a group of Filipino fans about protocols had been uploaded on social media.

It could be remembered that businessman Christopher Carpila entered Lea’s dressing room even if they were not included on the guest list.

Lea could be seen as baffled and started questioning Christopher’s group as she didn’t recognize the businessman.

After becoming viral, Lea then posted a message on her social media page reminding the netizens that they should not cross her boundaries.

Amid the issue, another statement from Lea about theatre etiquette had been recirculated on social media.

In 2019, Lea criticized the people who were using their phones during theatre and concert performances, calling them disrespectful.

“So yeah. More cellphone users at plays and concerts. You guys have zero manners, zero breeding, zero empathy. If all you’re gonna do while sitting in the front row of a play is hunch over your phone, do everyone a favour and leave. Your presence is disruptive and disrespectful to the actors and the audience.” she said.

“Money may get you theater tickets and your state of the art cellphone, but it can’t buy you class,” she added.

Aside from using cellphones, Lea also urged the theater-goers to avoid singing along with the cast.

“The theater isn’t a karaoke bar. Try not to sing along. The rest of the audience paid to hear THE CAST sing. Not you,” she stated.

Ogie Diaz reacts to Kathryn Bernardo’s vaping issue: “Bakit ginagawang big deal?”

Talent manager and showbiz reporter Ogie Diaz reacted to the issue being faced by Kapamilya actress Kathryn Bernardo.

It can be recalled that a video showing Kathryn while holding a vape went viral on social media and received mixed reactions from the netizens and her fans.

Kathryn, who was considered a role model to her fans, who were mostly teenagers, surprised the netizens because of the possibility that the actress was a vape user.

However, Ogie said that netizens should not make it a big deal if ever Kathryn was really vaping.

“Normal ‘yun. Bakit ginagawang big deal,” said Ogie.

Ogie’s co-host Loi Villarama believed that the criticism received by Kathryn came from netizens who still couldn’t move on from the child star image of the actress.

The talent manager also questioned the uploader’s intention to capture Kathryn’s private time.

As of writing, Kathryn’s camp has yet to comment on the issue.

After losing its number-one spot in the noontime rating contest, E.A.T has finally introduced their own version of ‘Pinoy Henyo’.

On July 20, the top-rated noontime show on TV5 introduced ‘Gimme 5: Laro ng mga Henyo,’ a game nearly similar to Pinoy Henyo but with some twists.

The show introduced an A.I version of E.A.T co-host Allan K, which was tasked to give instructions to the contestants.

Another difference noticed by the netizens was that Gimme 5 used a big screen to show the mystery word instead of the traditional helmet being used in Pinoy Henyo.

Despite the differences, fans of E.A.T still saw the excitement of the game, and some even said that it was more fun than Pinoy Henyo.

Ryza Cenon and Louise Delos Reyes won the first episode of the said segment.

Currently, Eat Bulaga also introduced a segment similar to Pinoy Henyo called ‘Word of the Rings’ amid the trademark battle between TAPE Inc, the producer of the Kapuso noontime show, and TVJ Productions.

TAPE claimed the ownership of Eat Bulaga title and its segments, including ‘Pinoy Henyo,’ which made the production company use a different title for their new game.

Ang pagbabalik? Former President Rodrigo Duterte offers his assistance to DILG Sec. Benjamin Abalos

Former President Rodrigo Duterte hints at his possible return to public service in his message to the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Benjamin Abalos Jr.

In his video greeting to Abalos, Duterte offered his expertise in fighting illegal drugs, saying he would never hesitate to assist the secretary.

“Kung kailangan mo ako, paalamin mo lang ako. Kung gusto mo ubusin ang adik sa Maynila, itapon mo sakin, ako na bahala,” the tough talking former president said.

Duterte clarified that he was joking but might consider helping if the situation becomes serious.

“Just the same, kung magka-leche leche. Nandiyan ako. Tawagan mo lang ako. Walang problema,” he said.

He also praised the dedication of Abalos as a public official.

Abalos served as the chairman of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) under the Duterte administration before being appointed by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. as the head of DILG.

E.A.T nag numero uno muli sa ratings isang araw matapos sila matalo ng Eat Bulaga

Just a day after being surpassed by Eat Bulaga, TV5’s top-rated noontime show, E.A.T recovered its standing in the rating contest and became number one again among its competitors.

It can be recalled that TAPE Inc. celebrated the high rating they attained on July 19, saying that being number one again was an early anniversary gift to them.

“We are beyond words. Thank you is not enough for our Kapuso. We promise to do better na makapagbigay ng ‘tulong at saya’ para masuklian ang pagmamahal na binibigay ng ating mga viewers to ‘Eat Bulaga,” TAPE’s lawyer, Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque said.

“This is an early anniversary gift for ‘Eat Bulaga.’ Maraming salamat. Ang celebration po ng 44 years ng ‘Eat Bulaga’ ay celebration ng mga kababayan natin na tumangkilik at patuloy na tumatangkilik sa ‘Eat Bulaga’ mula noon hanggang ngayon. Salamat dahil hindi nyo kami binitiwan despite this trying time,” she added.

Unfortunately, the celebration was cut short after the data released by AGB Nielsen NUTAM Overnight Ratings on July 20, 2023, showed that E.A.T took the number one spot again by getting 4.21% compared to Eat Bulaga’s 3.51%

Meanwhile, It’s Showtime remained the least-watched show but maintained a decent rating.

“A WIN for E.A.T. is a WIN for #LegitDabarkads at Kapatids! Maraming salamat po sa inyong walang sawang pagmamahal at pagtangkilik!” TV5 statement read.

Observers believed that people behind the said noontime shows should stop celebrating as the competition between them was getting tougher.

Regine Tolentino narrated the story behind the wardrobe malfunction that happened during her performance on It’s Showtime, which was aired on live television.

It can be recalled that on the July 14 episode of It’s Showtime, Regine was not aware that a part of her costume already fell and kept dancing.

Fortunately, the staff of the noontime show quickly did their best to protect Regine during her performance.

In her vlog, Regine showed how her costume was made overnight, which might be attributed to the incident.

She also shared their practice and preparation before the said performance.

“Everything seems to be secured during our preparation, but just so happens that when you’re on stage, you can’t control everything and I think might have danced a little to hard and it came out,” she said.

“Nakakahiya, twice siyang lumabas during my performance and I was absolutely terrified,” she added.

Even after she realized what happened, Regine said that she kept her composure to finish her dance number.

After her performance, the dancer said that she really wanted to cry, but It’s Showtime family quickly comforted her.

Before the vlog ends, Sheree Bautista expresses her support for Regine.

Sheree even joked that people would never see the incident again as It’s Showtime family had already erased the said performance on the internet.

“Ang ganda po ng n*pp*es ni miss reg, sayang hindi niyo po makikita,” Sheree said in jest.

Kontrobersyal na fan ni Lea Salonga, nagpakuha ng litrato kay Mark Bautista

Businessman Christopher Retokelly Carpila didn’t let the fame he gained from being lectured by Lea Salonga slide, as he was now creating content featuring celebrities he was spotted in public places.

In his newest post, Christopher showed his meeting with another Filipino singer Mark Bautista who’s eating at a Taiwanese Restaurant.

Netizens even noticed that he took a swipe against Lea in his caption, saying that Mark accommodated him even if he was not included on the guest list.

It can be recalled that Lea’s camp explained that the singer rejected Christopher’s request for a photo-op because he was not included on her guest list.

“Nagpapicture ako sa kanya pero tinanong ko muna siya kung okey lang ba kahit wala ako sa Guest list,” Christopher said.

He even showed how Mark talked to him briefly.

The singer also fulfilled the request of Christopher for a photo-op.

However, some netizens called out Christopher again for bothering Mark, who’s having private time.

“Enjoy talaga xa mag invade nang artist privacy para sa views??? Isa kang #motivationalinvader,” one netizen said.

Christopher then explained that he asked Mark for consent before recording a video.

“Hi po tinanong ko po siya bago ako maglive if okey lang. At bago yang Live, nagpicturan at nagtsikahan na kami..sabi ko salamat ha kahit wala ako sa guest list eh napagbigyan niya ako… antay mo yung post ha… ineedit ko lang,” he said.

Fan na nakatanggap ng sermon kay Lea Salonga, ipinakita ang pila sa labas ng dressing room: “Wag magbulagbulagan sa katotohanan,”

Digital creator and businessman Christopher Carpila showed another evidence that people were allowed to enter the dressing room where singer Lea Salonga lectured them about ‘boundaries.’

In the video, Christopher can be seen lining up with his other friends and even clarified that they never entered the exact dressing room where Lea was staying.

He also again denied that they were invading the privacy of the singer, who’s currently in New York to perform ‘Here Lies Love.’

“Wag magbulagbulagan sa katotohanan Hindi kami gate crasher. We did not invade her privacy,” he said.

It can be recalled Christopher was the one who uploaded the viral video that showed the incident, but he insisted that he didn’t post it to put the singer in a bad light.
He also didn’t express regret for his decision to upload the incident.
Lea’s camp already explained that they didn’t allow Christopher’s group to have a photo op because they’re not included on the guest list.
