Lugi? Eat Bulaga iniintriga ng isang fan ng It’s Showtime sa paluging production cost ng show

A page on X claimed that TV5 and Media Question would hold an emergency meeting due to the alleged negative earnings of Eat Bulaga in the past two months.

In their Facebook post, ‘Chakapuso,’ a page dedicated to praising ABS-CBN and It’s Showtime disclosed information from a source who claimed that Eat Bulaga was only earning a little due to its expensive production cost.

They claimed that only TV5 received around 12.5% of the 25% being produced by Eat Bulaga, while the other half went to TVJ Productions.

“So may emergency meeting daw ang TV5 at Media Quest this coming saturday ayon sa ating Kapatid source. Not because of Showtime sa GMA but dahil sa negative earnings nila. 2 months na daw walang kinikita ang TV5 at Media Quest sa Eat Bulaga,” the page wrote.

“Dagdag pa ng source, 75% daw ang production cost ng show pero 25% lang naibabalik kung saan hahatiin pa ng TV5 (51%) at TVJ (49%) ang karampot na kita. Sabi pa, ayaw daw tanggapin ng TVJ ang 49% na hatian. Bukod kasi TF nila, maliit lang ang mapupuntang budget para sa show,” they added.

Chakapuso also mentioned the issue between Television and Productions Exponents (TAPE) Inc. and TVJ Productions, saying that it was the same as what was currently happening now on Eat Bulaga and TV5.

However, some netizens saw a discrepancy in the claim, saying that Eat Bulaga was still earning based on the post on the page.

The production cost should also be included in the budget of the show, hence TV5 and TVJ Productions should not take any amount from the reported 25% profit they gained.

A report from Bilyonaryo also contradicted the claim of Chakapuso as TV5’s CEO Manny Pangilinan disclosed that Eat Bulaga was set to transfer to a bigger venue.

Pangilinan was also known for holding a company even if it was losing money for years. It can be recalled that TV5 lost billions of pesos every year since its founding, but the profitability of the network would finally be seen in 2024.

“I believe in Karma. For me personally, there’s nothing more expensive than peace. We cannot get peace if we seek revenge,” she said.

“There’s power in prayer like Tito Cupcake (Gardo Versosa) said, and there’s a certain feeling na hindi mo makukuha by protecting your peace and again you don’t that by seeking revenge,” she added.

It can be recalled that Sarah was facing issues due to her separation from her former partner, Richard Gutierrez.

The Queen of Bangsamoro Pop, Shaira, was facing another issue as netizens noticed that some part of her newest song, ‘Selos na yan, Friend’ was similar to a jingle by a ride-hailing app.

According to some netizens, the rap part of Shaira’s new song was similar to the “Angkas, Tara Na!” jingle of the ride-hailing app Angkas.

“Bakit parang hawig sa kanta na “Angkas” yung sa part na selos,” a netizen asked.

“ANGKAS TARA NA [laughing emoji]” another netizen wrote.

Even some netizens visited the YouTube video of Angkas’ jingle to verify their hunch.

However, some fans of Shaira believed that having the same drum beat or rhythm cannot be considered as plagiarism.

They also told the critics of the singer to stop trying to prove that her newest single was copied from other’s work.

It can be recalled that Shaira became popular not only because of her songs but also due to the copyright issues she faced.

Her first popular single, “Selos” was deleted from online platforms after it was found similar to Lenka’s “Trouble is a Friend,”

Meanwhile, her other songs were also removed after it was found similar to music created by Indonesian artists.

Veteran columnist Cristy Fermin’s co-host, Wendell Alvarez, disclosed information from his sources on the alleged short contract of It’s Showtime on GMA Network.

During the April 6 episode of “Showbiz Now Na!” Wendell said that the contract between It’s Showtime and GMA would only last for 3 to 6 months as the Kapuso Network wanted to see if the Kapamilya show’s performance would be consistent based on their satisfaction.

Wendell also believed that Vice would never last for long on GMA Network.

“Sa tingin ko parang hindi siya magtatagal,” said Wendell. “Siguro pinapabayaan lang muna sila, sige ibibigay namin sa inyo ‘to, gusto niyo ‘yon eh,” he said.

In another report written by Entertainment writer Salve Asis, she disclosed that GMA Network allegedly has the power to terminate the contract between them and It’s Showtime at any time.

It’s Showtime also reportedly only received a six-month contract, which was renewable.

“Totoo bang may option diumano to terminate ang GMA 7 sa contract nila? Or totoo rin bang six months lang ang contract nila sa GMA pero renewable?” she asked.

Meanwhile, It’s Showtime’s pilot episode on GMA Network was considered a tremendous success as it surpassed TV5’s Eat Bulaga when it comes to social media viewership and advertisement.

Experts also believed that GMA Network would not remove It’s Showtime as it was the only fitting competitor of Eat Bulaga as television host Willie Revillame also decided to join TV5.

Taylor Sheesh, nanginginig parin dahil sa nangyari sa kanya sa isang concert sa Pangasinan

Drag performer and Taylor Swift impersonator Taylor Sheesh admitted that she was still in distress after she received a karate chop from one of the audience who watched his concert in Bayambang Pangasinan.

On April 6, the drag performer, whose real name was John Mac Lane Coronel, was seen interacting with fans when someone from the audience decided to target her neck.

“Literally. I’m shaking right now,” Coronel wrote.

Bayambang Mayor Nina Jose-Quiambao called the incident a case of homophobia and vowed to hold the suspect accountable for what he did to their special guest.

The local chief executive expressed her deep disappointment over the incident.

“Don’t worry. Authorities have the person in question and this matter and incident will be dealt with accordingly. BYB is a peaceful and safe town!” she wrote.

Quiambao also addressed the netizens on a Facebook video and said that the man was already behind bars while waiting for the charges that would be filed against him.

“We will make sure that justice will prevail,” she said.

As of writing, the suspect has yet to give any statement on why he did such an act amid a supposed fun event.

Veteran columnist Cristy Fermin believed that It’s Showtime would never surpass Eat Bulaga whatever strategy they apply.

In her program “Showbiz Now Na!” Cristy discussed the transfer of It’s Showtime on GMA Network.

According to them, it would be wrong if the goal of a network was to surpass its competitor.

They also believed that It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda should learn his lesson to be humble, unlike what he did against their competitors when they still had the franchise.

“Sana maging leksyon na ‘to noong dating nasa sarili silang network niya kung paano niya pagsabihan ng kung ano-ano ‘yung Eat Bulaga, dapat ngayon magbago na sila ng istratehiya,” Cristy’s co-host Rommel Chika said.

Cristy also reminded her co-hosts that Vice also made fun of GMA Network in the past and not only Eat Bulaga.

“Kahit anong gawin ng It’s Showtime, hindi niyo na kayang pataubin pa ang wala ng dapat patunayan,” she said.

Meanwhile, Cristy said that only time would tell if It’s Showtime would really surpass the longest-running noontime show.

It can be recalled that Cristy and Vice were exchanging criticism in the past months.

Vice even said that he would release a song about a gossiper, which his fans believed to be Cristy.

The Queen of Bangsamoro Pop, Shaira released a new single that showed her transformation after she became popular nationwide due to her song ‘Selos’ and copyright issues.

In her new song, “Selos na Yan Friend,” which was released last Friday, Shaira took some reference from the now-deleted song “Selos” to take a swipe against her critics.

The music video highlighted the beauty of her hometown, Cotabato City.

Shaira also showcased her talent in rapping together with local Bangsamoro artists.

The new song of Shaira received mixed reactions from the netizens.

Most of her fans praised her new single, while others expressed doubts about the originality of the song.

Some netizens even reportedly tried to investigate if her new song was copied again from artists from another country.

It can be recalled that Shaira received criticism on social media after her song ‘Selos’ was found to have the same melody as ‘Trouble is a Friend’ by Lenka.

Her song “Forever Single” was also reportedly copied from Indonesian Band Papinka’s single “Masih Mencintainya,” while Shaira’s “Babaero” was also found similar to Siti Badriah’s “Lagi Shantik,”

Due to her issues, she was also called “Queen of Copyright” by her critics.

However, some of her fans believed that Shaira was receiving unusual criticism due to her ethnicity as a Moro, saying that she may not receive disapproval if she was an artist from Manila.
