Dennis Padilla admitted that he realized many things after he was called out by his own son, Leon Barretto, last year.

In an interview, Dennis said he toned down his public statements about his children, Leon, Julia, and Claudia.

“Gusto ko lang makarating na I remember them on these special days.” said Dennis. “So, inalis ko na yun. Hindi ko na ginagawa yon,”

Now, Dennis was only posting about his children during special days as a way to remind them that he still remembers them.

“Parang yun lang ang paraan ko para maka-reach out sa kanila,” he stated.

It can be recalled that in 2023, Leon made an open letter to his father and accused him of seeking sympathy from the public.

“It’s not that we don’t want to talk to you, but the few times that we do to resolve the issues, you communicate by shouting, cursing, and using hurtful words that traumatize us. Is public sympathy really more important to you than your own children? Your words have the power to destroy your children, papa. It’s exhausting, papa. As the only man in the family, this is me stepping up to protect my sisters,” he said.

Dennis then made a response to Leon and reminded him of how he supported them in the past.

A customer went viral on social media after she confronted the staff of Diwata Pares Overload, which is owned by internet celebrity Deo Balbuena, a.k.a “Diwata.”

A video uploaded by @hiram_ryu, showed the clip where the woman could be heard asking the staff to return her money as she was not satisfied with the food served to her.

At first, the woman was looking for Diwata, but only the staff approached her.

“Asan na si Diwata? Ibalik ninyo kahit ‘yung pera ko nalang, hindi ako nasasarapan,” the woman said.

Netizens quickly defended Diwata from the people who were using the fame gained by the internet celebrity to gain popularity on social media.

It can be recalled that another vlogger also made content to criticize the service of Diwata Pares Overload.

Businessman Chavit Singson believed that transgender and married women should not join Miss Universe.

Singson, who was one of the major sponsors of the 2016 Miss Universe held in the Philippines, said that while he was not against the LGBTQIA+ community and married women, he believed that there was a reason why the prestigious pageant was called “Miss Universe.”

Tapos hahaluan ng iba,” he said.

It can be recalled that Miss Universe 1969 Gloria Diaz also insisted that the pageant should be exclusively for biological, unmarried women.

Dapat ‘Universe,'” she said.

“My personal opinion—which is not to be taken in a negative way—dapat may sarili silang contest. May Mrs. Universe, may Lesbian Universe, may Transgender Universe,” she added.

It can be recalled that Miss Universe Organization owner Anne Jakrajutatip allowed transwomen and married women to join the competition.

However, Jakrajutatip received criticism after a blogger published a video showing her trying to justify her decision to allow transgender and married women to join Miss Universe, saying that they cannot win the competition anyway.

“Now that we changed the age limit, they can compete and come back again. This is a strategy because you understand that they can compete but they cannot win,” she reportedly said.

Filipino gymnast Carlos Yulo was facing controversy after a source from the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP) made a claim on the reason why the athlete left his Japanese coach Munehiro Kugimiya.

Last year, Yulo admitted that he parted ways with Kugimiya after he won several gold medals during their partnership.

According to the report published by Malaya, Yulo allegedly left Kugimiya for being too strict, which already reached the point that even the gymnast’s love life was affected.

It was said that Kugimiya’s coaching to Yulo made it difficult for the gymnast to spend time with his Filipino-Australian girlfriend.

“This girlfriend became a distraction that drove a wedge between coach Kugimiya and Caloy,” the source told Malaya.

The source added that Yulo was unhappy with his former coach’s meddling with his love life.

“Because Coach Kugimiya is a gentleman, he did not want to make these things public. But now you see the outcome,” the source added.

Despite Yulo’s decision to part ways with Kugimiya, the Filipino athlete was still winning competitions.

On April 20, Yulo secured a gold medal in the parallel bars final of the 2024 FIG Artistic Gymnastics Apparatus World Cup.

Yulo has also been qualified to compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Some of them even claimed that Diwata was prioritizing his celebrity visitors now.

Meanwhile, content creator Mark Jayson Warnakulahewa warned Diwata to be careful and secure his future as his social media popularity was not permanent and content creators who were visiting him every day would leave him once his trend was over.

He also claimed that content creators earned hundreds of thousands of pesos by just recording Diwata’s activities every day.

Due to his popularity, Diwata already banned all vloggers from entering his kitchen and also asked them to give him privacy.

Eat Bulaga host Vic Sotto reacted to the rumors surrounding the longest-running noontime show.

In the past few months, hearsays about Eat Bulaga’s financial difficulties circulated on social media, which TVJ Productions denied.

Even Joey de Leon and Tito Sotto addressed their viewers last Wednesday, challenging their critics to outlast them.

Entertainment reporter MJ Marfori asked Vic about his insight on the said issue and gave a lighter response about it compared to his long-time colleagues.

“Part of the game,” said Sotto “Kasama sa buhay ‘yon eh, ‘yun ang nagpapasaya ng araw-araw natin eh – Yung mga nanonood, ‘yung mga nagkokontrahan.. kasama sa hanapbuhay ‘yon,”

Vic also clarified that they never considered It’s Showtime as an enemy, but a friendly competitor.

“Iba ‘yung kaaway namin, alam niyo na ‘yon. Iba ‘yung kaaway sa kalaban eh,” he stated.

According to him, making people happy regardless of the show they’re watching was more important.

It can be recalled that several It’s Showtime fans disclosed information that claimed Eat Bulaga’s lowering revenue and ratings.

To debunk the rumors, Tito reportedly released the income report of Eat Bulaga in the past six months, showing that they earned half a billion pesos in the first six months of the show.

They’re also reportedly planning to transfer to a bigger studio to accommodate more audience.

A content creator shared her bad experience while dining at the popular Diwata Pares Overload, which is owned by social media sensation, Deo Balbuena.

In her Facebook post, Hagar Hussein said that one of the staff of the said Paresan accused her of not paying for their food.

“It’s unacceptable in our part na tatawagin kaming sinungaling at hindi kami nagbayad ng worth 100 pesos,” she said.

According to her, the staff who were designated to one of the stations of Diwata’s Paresan were called liars.

She also described the food at Diwata’s paresan as bland.

“Wala na pong lasa ‘yung pagkain, ‘yung fried chicken walang lasa. Mas masarap pa ‘yung lutong bahay,” she stated.

Hussein also urged the content creators not to whitewash Diwata’s food so the social media sensation could improve the service of his business.

Meanwhile, several fans of Diwata defended the social media sensation, saying that people should stop expecting too much.

“For 100 pesos na unli rice, unli sabaw, with softdrinks? Ang taas ng entitlement ha. Leave Diwata alone.

As of writing, Diwata has yet to respond to the statement made by Hussein.

Many netizens were inspired by the story of the social media sensation, Deo Balbuena, also known as Diwata, who now owns a popular Paresan in Pasay City.

But before fame started after being featured by hundreds of content creators, Diwata lived in poverty and stayed for years under the bridge of Diokno Boulevard.

It can be recalled that Diwata started his business near his makeshift house and started to be recognized by content creators as the man who was featured on a news report in 2016.

A content creator personally visited the bridge where Diwata started to dream of escaping poverty.

Below the bridge, it showed a very narrow space where Diwata was believed to spend his night.

“Isipin ninyo bago narating ni Diwata ‘yung sitwasyon niya ngayon ay dumaan muna siya sa ganitong pamumuhay sa ilalim ng tulay,” he said.

“Grabe ang hirap,” he added.

Currently, the place was already cleared from informal settlers, and Diwata was already living comfortably in a different place, far from the uncomfortable makeshift house he built under the bridge.

Diwata reportedly earned millions of pesos a month in his Paresan business.

Netizens were hoping that Diwata would use his money wisely and secure his future as they believed that his social media popularity would not be permanent.

Talent manager and showbiz reporter Ogie Diaz denied that he was included on the list of content creators who spread that Eat Bulaga was closing.

In his Facebook post, Ogie said that netizens should stop making conclusions without watching his vlog.

It can be recalled that several Eat Bulaga fans announced that they would boycott Ogie’s vlogs.

Meanwhile, Joey already answered the rumors surrounding Eat Bulaga, calling them false.

Show in the World,” said Joey. 15 lang ha, eh by that time baka bumiyahe na ako eh,”

Later on, the veteran host clarified that he was not challenging It’s Showtime to outlast Eat Bulaga.

It was also reported that Eat Bulaga earned half a billion pesos during its first six months, proof that the longest-running noontime show would not close anytime soon.
