Baby Giant got one of the biggest breaks of his career after being helped by his ‘giant backer.’
In an interview, Baby Giant, or Renz Joshua Baña, shared that Coco Martin, his co-star, and director on FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, recommended him to the producers of Goin Bulilit.
“Ni-recommend po ako, tinawagan po ako ni Direk Coco, and then sabi po niya, ibibigay niya nga raw po ‘yung number ko kay Direk Bobot.” said Renz.
“Si Direk Coco po talaga ang naging daan, ipinasa po niya ang number ko sa kanila po,” he added.
Renz admitted that he would need some adjustments due to his new show.
“Yes merong adjustment po na nangyari kasi doon sa Batang Quiapo po, puro action po ang ginagawa namin and then lumipat po ng comedy, pero kahit action o comedy okay na okay po ako doon,” he stated.
Many questioned Goin’ Bulilit’s decision to replace the original cast of the show Dagul with Renz.
Some netizens believed Renz’s social media posts were unsuitable for children, who would become his audience for the following years.

A BDO customer published a public apology to BDO Unibank after his video about his wiped-out account went viral on social media.
