Eat Bulaga hosts Paolo Contis and Arra San Agustin were reportedly being conditioned to launch another ‘AlDub’ phenomenon.

It can be recalled that in 2015, Kalyeserye, where the tandem between Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza was introduced, became one of the most popular segments of Eat Bulaga and even achieved a world record.

According to veteran columnist Cristy Fermin, it was possible that Eat Bulaga wanted to replicate their success in 2015 amid the stiff rating contest between them and other noontime shows.

However, she believed it would not be successful compared to what they achieved in 2015.

“Kung gimik ito na mala-AlDub dahil nagtagumpay ang Eat Bulaga noon dahil kina Alden Richards at Maine Mendoza, hindi na po ito panahon na ganoon. Ibang klase na po ang labanan ngayon. Alam na nating kumilatis kung ano ang de-color at kung ano ang puti,”” said Cristy.

“Ibang klase na po ang labanan ngayon. Alam na nating kumilatis kung ano ang de-color at kung ano ang puti. Hindi magandang gimik ‘yun sa isang programa para tumaas,” she added.

Paolo already confirmed that his sweet gestures towards Arra were only part of their ‘sketch’ on Eat Bulaga.

The controversial host also denied that he was already developing feelings towards Arra.

Actress Kim Chiu shared the amount she paid to treat her It’s Showtime family for a dinner in Hong Kong.

In her post, Kim shared the receipt of the food she bought for her colleagues during their visit to Hong Kong, which reached more than P105,000.

Even if she was a successful actress already, Kim couldn’t hide her surprise at the amount she paid for the said dinner.

“ipapa-frame ko po ito. Nabutasan po tayo ng 100K,” she said.

Kim’s co-host, Vice Ganda, also said that the amount spent by the actress could be compared to someone who shelled out for a debutante.

However, Kim said that she was happy to spend big amount just to treat her It’s Showtime family.

“As the saying goes, family is not defined only by its last names or by blood. It is defined by commitment and by love. It’s means showing up when needed most. It means having each other’s back. It means choosing to love each other. Even on those days when you struggle to like each other. It means never giving up on each other,” she said.

It can be recalled that Kim, together with her colleagues visited Hong Kong during the suspension of Movie and Television Classification and Review Board (MTRCB) against their show.

Celebrity couple Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati were spotted together during an event held on October 28.

Through a Facebook post, businessman Vito Selma shared a photo during the launching of his collaboration with Richard and Sarah amid the separation rumors between the two artists.

“It’s been a week and we’re still on a cloud. Sarah Lahbati Gutierrez, Casa Selma PH and I are so grateful for everyone that came to visit. 2 years of work lead to the Manila FAME launch but it’s only the beginning. We have many more surprises from this collection that was inspired from a life by the sea,” Selma wrote.

Photos showed Richard and Sarah’s visit at Casa Selma’s booth at the World Trade Center in Pasay.

While many fans were relieved that Richard and Sarah were still visiting events together, some netizens still questioned the real status of both celebrities.

Comedian Vice Ganda discussed the current state of comedy in the country compared to the old times.

Vhong Navarro, Teddy Corpus, and Jugs Jugueta’s performance on It’s Showtime went viral on social media after they impersonated late comedians Dolphy, Babalu, and Redford White with the help of Artificial Intelligence technology.

After the performance, Vice talked about how current comedians like him were being careful now as they might displease their audience because of their jokes, unlike during Dolpy, Babalu, and Redford’s era.

“Tsaka dati nung panahon nila, mahirap nang magpatawa no’n. Pero grabe ‘yung hirap magpatawa ngayon. Minsan ‘pag nanonood ako ng mga lumang comedy, sasabihin ko ‘Nakakatawa ‘yan ano? Pa’no ‘pag sinabi ko ngayon ‘yan, anong mangyayari sakin? Pa’no ‘pag ginawa ko ngayon ‘yan, anong mangyayari sa’kin?’” said Vice.

Netizens couldn’t stop connecting Vice’s statement to the issues that the comedian faced due to his style of humor.

It can be recalled that the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) summoned It’s Showtime management due to Vice’s scene with his partner Ion Perez.

On Monday, November 6, 2023, it was announced that Bamboo Mañalac, Rico Blanco, Mark Escueta, and Nathan Azarcon would reunite for a concert next year at SMDC Festival Grounds.

Fans had already requested the reunion since the 2000s, and many of them lost hope about the possibility of seeing the original Rivermaya members perform again on the same stage.

Alex Gonzaga’s nanny couldn’t hide her emotion after watching the interview of the actress on ‘Toni Talks.’

In the said interview published on November 5, Alex went viral on social media after she shared the story about her second miscarriage.

According to her, she was pressured because of the demands from her fans, who wanted her to have a child already.

Miss Grand International owner Nawat Itsaragrisil made fun of Miss Universe 2014 MJ Lastimosa several days after he banned the Filipina beauty queen from the upcoming events of his organization.
