The sister of the missing Miss Grand Philippines 2023 contestant Catherine Camilon expressed her disappointment after the authorities disclosed a possible relationship between the latter and a police officer.

In her Facebook post, she said that the investigators should post the identity of the police, who were later named as police major Allan de Castro.

According to her, the said story was an embarrassment to her family, but they were not planning to deny it.

It can be recalled that De Castro was married already, and Catherine told the former’s wife about her relationship with the cop.

“AKO ANG KAPATID AT AKO ANG NAGSASABI NG TOTOO, MALAKING KAHIHIYAN ANG ISSUE NA ITO PERO HINDI KO KAHIT KAILAN ITINANGGI SA MGA TAO ANG PAGKAKAMALI NG KAPATID KO, DAHIL YUN ANG TOTOONG GINAWA NYA, AT KITA KO NAMAN SA MGA EBIDENSYA!! SA TOTOO LANG DAPAT NGA NILALABAS NIYO NA PANGALAN AT MUKHA NUNG PERSON OF INTEREST, PERO HINDI NIYO MAGAWA,” she said.

Despite the evidence found by the authorities, Catherine was nowhere to be found since her disappearance on October 12.

Witnesses saw Catherine being allegedly held by De Castro and other men while she was being transferred to another vehicle.

Authorities also found that the vehicle owned by Catherine came from a suspicious source.

Ricci Rivero is now riding on the accusations against him about his alleged habit of not washing his clothes.

It can be recalled that Ricci went viral on social media after his ex-girlfriend, Andrea Brillantes, hinted that he had not cleaned his clothes for a year.

“Gusto ko lang sabihin minsan, kung hirap ka mag-move on, kailangan mo talaga isipin ‘yung mga bagay na, ‘Talaga ba iiyakan ko ‘yung lalakeng hindi nagpapa-laundy nang isang taon?” Andrea said.

At first, Ricci criticized the claims made by Andrea, saying that it was an invented story.

“Nanahimik ako sa detalye at tiniis lahat ng gawa-gawa nilang paninira diyan sa mga laundry na ‘yan, sa mga gamit sa bahay para lang pagbigyan ang coping mechanism nila, pero sobra na,” the basketball player said.

“Wala naman nang mawawala sa akin, so bakit hindi ako magsasalita kung gusto pala nila ng detalye at hanggang ngayon hindi sila matigil sa kahibangan nila sa buhay ko,” he added.

However, it seems that Ricci was already fine with posting references about the claims amid the reports that he was being asked to become an endorser of a laundry detergent.

On November 14, Ricci posted a Christmas Tree made with unwashed clothes on his social media page.

The post received a mixed reaction from the netizens, and some asked why Rivero was proud of the said accusations against him.

Authorities files charges against Catherine Camilon’s boyfriend: “Gusto niyang makipaghiwalay”

The authorities finally filed charges against the people who were allegedly behind the disappearance of Miss Grand Philippines 2023 candidate Catherine Camilon.

In a statement, they named Police Major Allan de Castro, Jeffrey Ariola Magpantay, and another two men who allegedly held Camilon captive.

De Castro was identified as the alleged boyfriend of Camilon, and the investigation found that the police officer met with Camilon on the day of her disappearance.

“Siya ‘yung kakatagpuin niya kasi gusto niya ng makipaghiwalay kay Major Allan de Castro and maybe this is the one of the reason bakit nag-away sila,” CIDG Director M/Gen. Romeo Caramat Jr. said.

According to them, they might file additional charges against the suspects depending on the result of their search operations.

It can be recalled that several witnesses found the unconscious beauty queen while being transferred to another vehicle, which was later found by the authorities.

They found hair strands and stains inside the vehicle, but they have yet to confirm if it was from Camilon.

Witnesses also recognized De Castro as one of the persons who were present while Camilon was being held captive.

Meanwhile, De Castro has yet to give any statement on the charges he would face.

Phoenix Fuel Masters player Ricci Rivero was reportedly being courted to become an endorser of a laundry detergent amid the claims that he was not washing his clothes.

In her online show, Cristy Fermin revealed that an advertising company was asking Ricci to endorse their product after he became a meme after Andrea Brillantes’ interview with Vice Ganda.

It can be recalled that Andrea took a swipe against Ricci’s alleged habit of not washing his clothes.

“Gusto ko lang sabihin minsan, kung hirap ka mag-move on, kailangan mo talaga isipin ‘yung mga bagay na, ‘Talaga ba iiyakan ko ‘yung lalakeng hindi nagpapa-laundy nang isang taon?” Andrea said.

However, it seems that Ricci would benefit from the issue if Cristy’s information were accurate.

“Naku ewan ko kung totoo o hindi ito…mayroon daw isang ahensya na interesado para kuning endorser o brand ambassador ng isang detergent product (si Ricci),” said Cristy.

“Ang ganda n’yan kapag nagkatuluyan ‘yan. Biruin mo ‘yung negative turn to positive, hindi ba?” Cristy’s co-host Rommel Chika responded.

As of writing, Ricci has yet to confirm if he received such an offer from the said company.

Starbucks Philippines went viral on social media after Scottish travel vlogger Dale Philip called out some Filipinos who made coffee shops their workplace.

According to Philip, this was the first time that he saw coffee shops becoming a hangout place for customers who wanted to work and enjoy free internet and electricity.

“Look at all these guys with their laptops just sitting, using it as their personal office. I would hate that,” said Philip.

“I would hate to have a business where people just come and use it as their personal office, use your WiFi and electricity, and buy like one coffee,” he added.

The statement received a reaction from the netizens and sparked a debate about whether it was right for customers to occupy coffee shops to work.

However, Starbucks Philippines said in a past interview that it was fine for them to let customers enjoy the privileges of using their internet and electricity for free.

“That was my first experience in Starbucks when I stayed for so long nursing one cup of coffee, and I was so amazed… So I don’t want to deny anybody that. That’s the Starbucks experience,” Starbucks Philippines President Noey Lopez said.

“Why would I deny that to anybody else? That was the magic I felt so to this day, we let people stay as long as they want. It’s part of our business,” he added.

He clarified that customers had no time limits to stay at their coffee shops.

“We strive to create a welcoming environment for all of our customers. We do not have any time limits for being in our stores, and we continue to focus on making the Third Place experience for every Starbucks customer,” he stated.

UK-based vlogger Dale Philip received criticism from the netizens after he called out the people doing their job at coffee shops like Starbucks.

During his visit to the Philippines, Dale recorded several customers of the coffee giant who were seen using their laptops and criticized them for staying at the establishments for hours.

“Look at all these guys with their laptops just sitting, using it as their personal office. I would hate that,” said Philip.

“I would hate to have a business where people just come and use it as their personal office, use your WiFi and electricity, and buy like one coffee,” he added.

Some netizens said that Dale should stop using Filipinos to earn and also criticize their culture at the same time.

“The audacity of white people to make a living off of Filipinos while simultaenously criticizing our own culture and social norms. Didn’t even bother blurring their faces. Nakakainit ng dugo,” netizen Ralph said.

“Ralph, regardless of the culture, its about workplace and also a business. Imagine, several hours and thats a fact, most of them stay that long with 1 bev and pastries. If they can afford coffee and pastries, why not just invest for a pocket wifi, surely they can afford it,” netizen Rhian said.

Meanwhile, Starbucks Philippines President Noey Perez said that they really intended their coffee shop as a ‘third place’ for their customers.

“Third place is between home and work, right? That’s where you come up with the third place, so we wanna be the third place. If we can be the first place, then even better. We don’t really mind,” he said.

The former lover of Leila de Lima was also allowed by the Muntinlupa court to post bail after six years.

The decision of Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 206 decided to allow De Lima, her former driver and boyfriend, Ronnie Dayan, and others to post bail for P300,000.

It can be recalled that De Lima admitted that she fell in love with Dayan, and the latter also became a witness against the former senator.

Dayan was accused of being the ‘bagman’ of De Lima, who’s tasked to deliver the tributes of the inmates to the former Justice Secretary.

“We became so close. That’s it. I trusted him. Siyempre, naano po ang loob ko,” she said.

“I was very close to him, but I wouldn’t want to be publicly speaking about it. It’s too personal for me,” she also said in another interview.

The former driver of De Lima also said that her boss was aware that he was married when they had an affair.

“Totoo pong nagkaroon kami ng relasyon ni ma’am at nagsimula po ito noon ding 2007. Mga two to three months pa lang ako sa law office niya,” said Dayan.

“Alam din po ni ma’am na may asawa po ako ng mga panahong iyon. Kasal na po ako since 1991,” he added.

Critics of De Lima even claimed that the two recorded a video and even mulled it to show it to the public.

Former Senator Leila de Lima couldn’t hide her happiness after the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 206 granted De Lima’s motion for reconsideration so she could post bail for her charges.

On November 13, 2023, De Lima was seen emotional after she heard the court’s decision.

The court set the bail for 300,000 pesos.

“Sa wakas, makakalaya na po ako. For years, my whole being has been crying out for justice and freedom. For more than six long years, I’ve been praying, praying so hard for this day to come,” said De Lima.

“Napakasakit ang makulong ka na wala kang kasalanan, at ayaw ko pong mangyari ito sa iba. But I don’t want to be sad or bitter today. This is a moment of triumphant joy and also thanksgiving,” she added.

It can be recalled that De Lima was put behind bars due to the accusations that she allowed illegal activities inside the national penitentiary during her time as the Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary to fund her campaign.

She was put under the custody of the authorities in 2017.

As of writing, former President Rodrigo Duterte, the chief executive during De Lima’s detention, has yet to give his comment on the court’s decision.
