Veteran actress Maricel Soriano went viral on social media after one of her co-stars revealed her attitude on set.

In her Facebook post, “Lavender Fields” star Hazel Parfam shared how she witnessed Maricel’s professionality and humbleness despite being one of the most popular actresses in the country.

Maricel started as an actress at the age of six and is considered one of the most talented artists in the country.

According to Hazel, Maricel arrived on the set almost an hour before the call time and didn’t even complain if her tent didn’t have any air conditioner.

“10:45AM calltime on the set, arrived at 9:30AM ready, made-up…”

“No aircon tent in our 1st location, ‘no problem…ok lang ako dito sa tabi with electric fan'”

Netizens praised Maricel’s attitude, saying that newbie artists should learn from the Diamond Star.

Comedy Queen Ai-Ai delas Alas urged Chloe San Jose to know her place amid the issue between her boyfriend, two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo.

In her statement, Ai-Ai said that Chloe should not quarrel with Carlos’ mother, Angelica Yulo, as she was just the Filipino gymnast’s girlfriend.

“Kung wala ‘yung nanay niya, wala kang darling ngayon,” said Ai-Ai. “At tsaka hindi ka pa asawa gurl, girlfriend ka palang,”

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach was facing backlash after she allegedly tried to portray herself as one of the guests of a prestigious fashion show in New York.

In her Instagram post, Pia could be seen tagging her location in New York City while sharing a video taken during the fashion show.

“How can one miss their signature hues, bright yellows, and not to mention, the polka dots?” Pia wrote.

However, some eagle-eyed netizens discovered that the video was originally published by the fashion website stylenotcom.

Some netizens who saw Pia’s original post said that the beauty queen didn’t mention the magazine at first, which misled the netizens who thought that she was present at the fashion show.

They expressed disappointment at why Pia was allegedly trying to pretend that she was included at the event, even if it was unnecessary.

The Southeast Asian Achievement Awards committee announced that it would award a prize to the mother of two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo.

In a Facebook post, the Southeast Asian Achievement Awards included Angelica Yulo as one of their awardees in the 7th year of their award, which is set to be held on September 14, 2024, at the Manila hotel.

According to the organization, Angelica’s story as a mother was inspiring as she nourished all her children with love and care despite being in poverty in the past.

“Being a mom is never easy. Angelica, like all of us, is human—imperfect and learning as she goes. But what makes her story so powerful is the way she embraced every challenge. For nine months, she carried each of her children in her womb, and with the unwavering support of her husband, they managed to overcome the trials of poverty and life’s many unexpected setbacks,” the statement of the organization read.

“Through it all, Angelica stood tall as the guiding light for her family. She not only nourished and raised her children, but also encouraged and nurtured their talents. Despite the hurdles, she found people and organizations to help her children excel in gymnastics, and today, with the grace of our Heavenly Father, her children have become champions—not just locally, but internationally,” they added.

Aside from Angelica, her son, Karl Eldrew Yulo, also received an award from the same organization.

Veteran actor John Regala couldn’t hide his disappointment after his colleagues in showbusiness ignored his request for financial help.

In his open letter, he asked his former friends in showbiz to help him because he was required to undergo an operation.

“I think na naging gymnast yung mga anak niya because naghirap din siya for it. She surely sacrificed a lot of things para ma-suportahan lahat ng anak niya. And I believe in the goodness and kindness of motherhood,” she said.

“So my advice to Miss Angelica Yulo is to love yourself. Stop crying. Always smile,” she added.

Aside from Angelica, Erika also welcomed all mothers and wives to join the event.

She said that even ordinary people could join the pageant as they wanted to push for women’s empowerment.

“Being married is not limited to having a child or being married alone. It also includes those who are widowed or who are single moms who [still] remain mothers to their children no matter what the journey is. The pageant serves as a platform to extend these women’s advocacies,” the organization’s statement read.

As of this writing, Angelica has yet to respond to the invitation.

Mark Andrew Yulo showed that he was also knowledgable when it comes to the sports played by his children.

In a Facebook post, Mr. Yulo could be seen trying to do some gymnastics moves during his visit at Rizal Memorial Sports Complex.

The said stadium was known as the training grounds of differeng Filipino athletes, where two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo started to be familiarize with gymnastics.

Netizens praised Mr. Yulo’s move, saying that there was no doubt that Carlos inhereted his father’s talent.
