KAPA Community Ministry International got an unusual support from a Senator.

On Friday, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV urged KAPA leader Joel Apolinario to file an impeachment complaint against President Rodrigo Duterte for allegedly trying to disband their religious group.

Trillanes pointed out that President Duterte violated the religious freedom of the KAPA members after he ordered the crackdown of the said group.

He also explained that the government doesn’t have the right to disband a religious group despite allegedly using a Ponzi scheme to lure its members to invest or donate to KAPA.

“Para sa mga lider at myembro ng Kapa, mag file ng kasong impeachment laban kay Duterte for culpable violation of the Constitution (i.e. Art. II, Sec. 6) dahil sa pagbaliwala nito sa kanilang religious freedom,” he wrote on Facebook.

“Para sa mga myembro ng Kapa, maaaring mag file ng class suit laban sa gobyerno at kay Duterte pakatapos ng termino nito para mabawi nila ang kanilang mga “na-donate” na pera. Kung mananalo sa kaso, maari ding ipa-garnish ang lahat ng ari-arian ng Duterte,” he said.

Trillanes also urged the government to let KAPA operate and give their members a chance to retrieve their investment.

“Para sa gobyerno, habang iniimbestigahan nila kung ano man ang violation, payagan ang Kapa na magoperate temporarily, at least 30 days, para mabigyan ito ng pagkakataong isaoli ang mga naiiwang pera na hawak nila para sa kanilang myembro. Gayundin, sa lalong madaling panahon, gumawa ang gobyerno ng inventory ng mga nakuha nilang pera or property mula sa Kapa at gumawa ng distribution plan para sa pag distribute nito sa mga myembro ng Kapa.” Trillanes said.

The post of Trillanes went viral on Facebook and the critic of the President received praise from KAPA members who disliked him before.

“I hate trillanes b4 but i like him now,” Randy Oybobolante said.

“I am not a member of KAPA but may sense si Trillianes. Padalos-dalos lang kasi ang desisyon ng presidente kasi kaalyado nya si Quiboloy. Pero sana mas inisip ang kapakanan ng nakakarami.” Lu Enna remarked

Several days ago, President Duterte ordered to close KAPA for allegedly scamming its members.

KAPA promised to return 30% of their “donations” monthly as part of its “blessing” to its members.

KAPA Community Ministry International spokesperson Danny Mangahas wanted the help of the three Senators who received the endorsement of their “religious group” in the 2019 senatorial elections.

Mangahas mentioned Senator-elect Christopher “Bong” Go, Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa and Imee Marcos, saying that KAPA is seeking the support of the three politicians.

According to them, those three politicians cannot deny that they’re aware of the support they gained from KAPA.

“Mas gusto naming bigyan diin ‘yung tatlong inendorso namin na senador, si Imee Marcos. ‘Di naman nila pwedeng ikaila sa amin ‘yan kasi nagpapasalamat sila doon sa timeline ng social media,” Mangahas said who also mentioned Bato and Go.

However, Dela Rosa denied that he received any help from the religious group, which allegedly using a Ponzi scheme to gain followers and “donations.”

“I must tell you straight in the eye, no! Wala…wala…I haven’t received any campaign funds coming from Kapa,” Dela Rosa said in an interview with ABS-CBN.

Meanwhile the two other Senators, Marcos and Go are not yet releasing a statement on the claims of KAPA.

KAPA is known for releasing inaccurate news to their followers to give them false hope in the middle of the crisis that they’re currently facing.

On Wednesday, they claimed that President Rodrigo Duterte already approved the operations of KAPA. However, on Friday, the Chief Executive lambasted KAPA and its founder Joel Apolinario, accusing the religious group of committing large-scale estafa.

Apolinario also made a statement that KAPA also received support from Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte. The presidential daughter is not yet confirming the claims of the KAPA founder.

The House of the Representatives decided to freeze the bill which aimed the renewal of the franchise of the television network giant ABS-CBN Corp.

House Bill 4349 had been pending since November 2016, and ABS-CBN franchise will expire nine months from now or on March 20, 2020.

The Committee on Legislative Franchises did not submit the report before the 17th Congress ended, so it’s up to the 18th Congress if they’re going to push for the bill or not.

If the 18th Congress fail to pass the said bill within the next nine months, ABS-CBN got no choice but to close all their operations in television and radio.

According to the report of Philippine Star, the problem on the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN could only be resolved if they’re going to address their company’s issue with President Rodrigo Duterte.

They have to thresh out and resolve their issues with the President. That’s the key to get the bill moving,” the lawmaker who didn’t want to disclose his name said.

The President is known for criticizing ABS-CBN several times in his speeches, claiming that the said television network helped Senator Antonio Trillanes IV to air a television ad which trying to damage his reputation during the 2016 Presidential election.

He said that he would block the franchise renewal of the said television network.

“Hindi ko palusutin. Iyong franchise niyo matatapos. But let me ask you questions first. Kasi ako talaga mag-object na ma-renew kayo. Alam mo bakit? Magnanakaw kayo, estapador,” Duterte said.

Duterte also addressed ABS-CBN Chairman Emeritus Gabby Lopez and accused the businessman of stealing his money.

“Gabby Lopez, I paid ABS-CBN P2.8 million…You accepted my money, you never bothered to show my propaganda (political advertisements). After the elections, you didn’t return the money,” Duterte said.

Journalist Erwin Tulfo finally released a statement after several days of being silent on the issue between him and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rolando Bautista.

In his statement titled “Living and working dangerously, as always” Tulfo again apologized to the retired General and narrated how the issue affected not only his life but also the lives of his relatives.

According to him, he faced an untouchable man in the Duterte administration, which is considered as a famous General and Mindanao war hero.

He also narrated that his family already received enough criticisms that could be compared to the badmouthing he did to Bautista.

“I have, along with my entire family, received just as much badmouthing from Sec. Bautista’s friends and supporters as I had verbally offended the honorable Secretary for which I readily apologized. I am truly sorry but whether or not I’m forgiven is beyond me.” Tulfo said.

Tulfo mentioned that during his job as a journalist, he already faced scalawag cops and soldiers and other powerful personalities who did a wrong thing.

He also said that he’s considering himself as a “nobody” who only help the poor people.

“The Tulfo brothers are no bigshots by any stretch of imagination. Boses lang po kami ng mga inapi at ng mga nakaligtaan sa lipunan,” he said.

“WE ARE NO HEROES. However, we can’t just simply turn our back to those who ask for our help because were taught by our parents to stand up and fight for those who are weak and helpless. And for decades we have committed to rendering that kind of public service in our small way, though it will not earn an epitaph at Libingan ng mga Bayani,” he added.

“Indeed, It’s a dangerous country for hard-hitting journalists, as it is for cops and soldiers but we’ve got a lot of work to do to make this country a better place to live for everyone,”

Tulfo made a statement several days after Sec. Bautista asked the journalist to donate in 19 groups connected to the Armed Forces of the Philippines to prove that he’s already regretting his actions committed on May 28.

Senator Panfilo Lacson believed that President Rodrigo Duterte could become the chief executive of the Philippines for life if he succeeds in delivering two of his latest promises for his people.

In a tweet, Lacson thinks that the latest promises of the President are already unbelievable, saying that Duterte vowed to deliver his two latest missions within a short time.

“If PRRD delivers on just two promises he recently made: (1) to cut travel time from Cubao to Makati to 5 minutes within 6 months and; (2) to eliminate flight delays in NAIA within one month, for being superhuman, he deserves to be president for life,” Lacson said in his tweet.

On Saturday, President Duterte promised that he would improve the traffic in Metro Manila by December this year, claiming that within six months, that travel time going to Makati from Cubao, Quezon City would be cut to five minutes.

“You don’t have to worry about traffic… Cubao and Makati will be about five minutes na lang,” Duterte said in a television interview with Pastor Apollo Quiboloy

“You just wait. Ayaw kong mag-ano —but things will improve… maybe God willing, December smooth sailing na,” he added.

Another promise of the President is to end the flight delays at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) within one month.

“President Duterte talked to airline and NAIA officials regarding the cancellations and delays to know whether there are flight diversions and if affected passengers are given incentives to ease their inconvenience,” the statement said.
