“Wag mo akong hawakan!” Gretchen Barreto shows videos of the wake of their father to show the truth

Gretchen Barreto posted some videos on Instagram to counter the accusations of her sister Marjorie, saying that the former started the commotion during the wake of their father, Miguel Alvir Barretto.

In her Instagram post, Gretchen posted a video forwarded to her by one of the guests of the wake, who video recorded the incident.

The video didn’t show the faces of the guest, however, one part of the video showed President Duterte in front of the quarreling members of the Barreto clan.

A loud noise was suddenly heard during the video and the people started to rush in front of the coffin of Mr. Barreto to see the source of the noisy sound.

Because the video was poorly recorded, some of the words the people said are inaudible, however, there are some few phrases that can be heard during the quarrel.

Konting respeto!” “Susuntikin mo ako?!” “Wag mo akong hawakan!”

The incident happened in front of President Duterte itself and it can be seen some men wearing uniform who are possible members of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) trying to restrain the members of the Barreto family.

Gretchen posted the said videos several hours after Marjorie Barreto denied the accusations of her sisters that she started the commotion at their father’s wake.

“Don’t be fooled by the statements of my sisters, they are leaving out a very important detail of what really caused pain and tension in the wake. May I request everyone to allow our family to grieve, it’s our last day with our Father today. Please hold your judgment and opinions until he is laid to rest, then WE WILL FOR THE FIRST TIME SPEAK THE WHOLE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH,” Marjorie said on her Instagram post.

According to some sources, the President who’s known for being tough was also shocked because he was unprepared to witness the confrontation between the Barreto sisters.

The President refused to talk about the incident publicly.

Barreto sisters reportedly quarrel in front of President Duterte during their father’s wake

Even in the wake of their father, the Barreto sisters refused to stop their feud temporarily.

Yesterday, it was reported that during President Rodrigo Duterte’s visit at Miguel Alvir Barretto’s wake, he tried to reconcile Gretchen and Marjorie Barreto by urging them to shake hands.

Reports said Gretchen tried to follow President Duterte’s request to shake Marjorie’s even for once to show their respect to their father for the last time.

However, Marjorie refused to follow Duterte’s request, saying that Gretchen is trying to be ‘plastic’ just because the President is in front of them.

A few months ago, Gretchen and Marjorie had an online feud after they took different sides during the Julia Barreto, Gerald Anderson, and Bea Alonzo controversy.

Marjorie defended her daughter, Julia, while Gretchen defended her friend Bea Alonzo.

It was also reported that while the President is talking to some members of the family at the wake, one of Barreto’s grandchildren showed an attitude in front of Gretchen.

The action of the Barreto grandchildren didn’t receive well by Gretchen and tried to retaliate, however, some of the guests of the wake tried to stop the latter.

However, all the guests of the wake were shocked after Gretchen grabbed the hair of her niece.

The Presidential Security Group (PSG) took an action and restrained the two members of the Barreto family.

“It was all so nice until Marjorie had a nervous breakdown,” Gretchen told ABS-CBN news.

After the incident, Claudine Barreto was brought to the hospital after a confrontation with Marjorie.

She accused Julia Barreto as part of the confrontation.

President Duterte didn’t give any comment on the said incident.

Leah Navarro reacts on Duterte’s motorcycle fall: “Walang traffic, sumemplang parin!”

Artist Leah Navarro makes fun of President Rodrigo Duterte after the latter fell off his motorcycle yesterday at Presidential Security Group (PSG) compound in Malacanang.

In a series of tweets, Navarro took a swipe against the President, questioning why Duterte is not wearing a helmet during his motorcycle ride.

According to Navarro, the President should be punished for not wearing a helmet or protective clothing.

“No helmet or protective clothing. Officer!” Leah Navarro said.

She even questioned the legitimacy of the story by Malacanang about President Duterte’s motorcycle incident.

“Can’t reach for your shoe while riding a motorcycle. Did he actually faint or lose consciousness while walking? Are the injuries so noticeable that they need to concoct a story to make him look like a daredevil?” Navarro said.

In her last tweet, Navarro even called Duterte unintelligent for crashing his motorcycle even without any traffic.

“Walang traffic, sumemplang pa rin. T**ga,” she wrote.

What happened to President Duterte was shared by Senator Christopher “Bong” Go to the media, saying that he was also worried at the chief executive’s condition.

“Sumemplang sa motor si PRRD (President Rodrigo Roa Duterte) kagabi habang nagmo-motor…Sa PSG compound,” Go told reporters

“Meron po siyang motor, sabi niya matagal na niya itong gustong sakyan, alam niyo bilang rider po, nami-miss na rin po ng ating Pangulo na masakay ng motor, pinagbabawal po siya ng PSG lumabas dahil for security reasons, kaya sinubukan, iikot ikot siya diyan sa compound ng PSG” he addded.

However, Malacanang already told the public that the President is okay and just resting.

“I would like to assure the nation that the President is safe, in good hands and in good health,” Presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo said.

It’s not yet known when the President is going to appear in public again.

Duterte is known for being a motorcycle rider but temporarily stopped his hobby after being elected as President because of security reasons.

Ang Probinsiyano party-list wants Filipinos to work for 2 years instead of 6 months to become regular in their job

Ang Probinsiyano party-list wants to extend the probationary employment period of Filipino workers from six months to 24 for months before getting regular from their job.

According to the House Bill 4802 filed by Ang Probinsiyano Rep. Jose “Bonito” Singson Jr., the extension of probationary employment is needed so the employers can better assess the competence of their workers.

He insisted that six months is not enough for the workers to prove themselves to be eligible to become regular employees.

“This is needed in order for the employee to familiarize themselves with the nature and the standards of the company they wish to become a permanent part of. Employers, on the other hand, would make use of this trial period to observe the probationary employee’s work ethics, fitness, and efficiency in order to determine if such probationary employees are qualified for regular employment,” Singson Jr. said in his explanatory note.

Singson explained that in the current set up of the law, the employers are afraid to accept their employees permanently because of the risk of “being stuck with a substandard employee,”

“Employers are left with no recourse but to end the probationary employment even when they are still in the process of evaluating the probationary employee to avoid automatic regularization of an unqualified employee in their workforce,” he said.

Article 281 of Presidential Decree 442 or Labor Code of the Philippines stated that employees can become regular workers within six months of the probationary period.

“Probationary employment shall not exceed six (6) months from the date the employee started working unless it is covered by an apprenticeship agreement stipulating a longer period… An employee who is allowed to work after a probationary period shall be considered a regular employee,” the law reads.

Meanwhile, netizen Henrie Enaje criticized Singson for pushing for the extension of the probationary employment period of Filipino workers.

“Hindi na nga masolusyunan ang kontraktwalisasyon at Endo, gusto pang gawing 24-months ang probi period!” he said.

LOOK: Taiwan bus includes Tagalog signage for Filipinos asking them to be quiet while riding

It seems that the foreigners have already noticed some traits of the Filipinos.

In Taiwan, bus owners put signage in his vehicle to warn the Filipinos not to be noisy while riding.

“Pakisuyo: Huwag Maingay!” the signage reads.

The signage became viral because it was exclusively made for Filipinos riding their buses every day.

According to the uploader of the photo Ariel Abalos, the bus is one of the public transportation vehicle located in Zhongli, Taiwan.

The signage was made to warn Filipinos in Taiwan to be considerate of other people who wanted some peace of mind while riding their bus.

It’s already been known that Filipinos love to talk even when they’re riding public transport and it’s just normal in the Philippines.

However, according to blogger RJ “Thinking Pinoy” Nieto, some foreigners are not used to hear noisy people in public transportation.

“Sa Singapore buses, sa mga tren sa Dubai, sa mga kalye sa San Francisco, sa mga tram sa Rome, napansin ko talaga na maiingay tayo. Yes, maaingay talaga tayo my gahd. Kahit nga yung ilan sa mga malapit kong kaibigan sa Singapore, napagsasabihan ko minsan kasi kahit dadalawa lang kami sa sala e ang lakas-lakas ng boses pag nagsasalita,” Nieto said.

“If anything, kailangan lang siguro na bawat gawin natin e isipin muna natin kung magiging sagabal tayo sa iba, para dumating yung araw na hindi na kakailanganin ang mga signage na ganito,” he added.

Some OFWs also agree with Nieto’s thoughts.

“True nman yan kung minsan mga local d2 sa Singapore nagcocomplain sa loob ng bus, para kasing nagtitinda ng bangus ang mga kabayan ko, kung minsan ako na ang nahiya kahit magkatabi yong nag uusap ang lakas ng boses akala mo nasa kabilang kanto ang kausap,” netizen Nelia Leal said.

“I definitely agree!  let’s be cautious and be conscious of our surroundings,” Ankie Panky remarked.

Netizen explains why Inday Sara needs to be the next President of the country: ” If ever, she will be the youngest President elected”

While rumors are still strong about the possibility of Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte following the footsteps of his father, a netizen tried to explain why the presidential daughter should become the next leader of the country.

In a lengthy post, the Facebook blog One Caraga Movement claimed that President Duterte also wanted his daughter to succeed in the future, saying that the former wants someone to continue his policies, programs, and projects.

“The President has made many commitments to his new partners in China, Russia as well as with our traditional allies like Japan and the United States with regards to the many projects the Philippine government has embarked on such as upgrading our military capabilities, or in terms of trade deals, and with regards to the many build build build infrastructure projects being implemented all over the country,” he wrote.

“Electing another President from a different political party could put some government programs at risk. A formerly dual citizen Grace Poe, for example, could undo some of the dealings this administration has entered into with China. She might decide not to pursue some projects initiated by her “good friend” Transportation Secretary Art Tugade, the construction of new international airports could not push thru and payments of some high interest-bearing foreign loans might be compromised if a Grace Poe presidency will have other plans and projects to pursue,” he added.

The blog also believes that the current administration already fails its plan to shift to federalism because of limited time, and only someone like Inday Sara could try to pursue it.

They also added that the President cannot be detained by his political enemies after his presidency if his daughter will be the next President.

He also said that Filipinos already electing Presidents who are children of former chief executives.

“Having a child of a former President to be elected also as President happened a couple of times before. Gloria Arroyo’s dad was former President Diosdado Macapagal. PNoy’s mom is Cory. So it’s not unusual. Sarah is a lawyer and a multiple-term city mayor. She would exactly be following her father’s winning footsteps in her rise to the highest seat of power in our country,” he explained.

“What a unique and amazing political story it will be. The first time that a child will immediately succeed his or her parent in the presidency. Her father is the oldest elected President on record. If ever, she will be the youngest,” he added.

Despite her popularity, Inday Sara refused to run for a higher office and wanted to focus on managing Davao City.

Bongbong Marcos to VP Robredo: “Ninakawan mo ako ng pagka bise Presidente!”

Former Senator Bongbong Marcos expressed again his frustrations on the result of the 2016 Vice Presidential election where his rival Vice President Leni Robredo won against him.

According to Marcos, the camp of Robredo stole the Vice Presidency from him and they took the opportunity from him to serve the public for the last three years.

“By conducting the cheating in the election, they robbed the proper Vice-President who won the election, myself, from the three years of service,” he said.

Marcos asked the  Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET) to recount the ballots in the provinces of Camarines Sur, Iloilo and Negros Oriental as part of his poll protest.

Meanwhile, Vice President Robredo denied again the accusations of Marcos, saying that the latter should just give up his protest.

“Tapos na ‘yong eleksiyon…. Prinoclaim tayo ng Kongreso, panalo tayo. Nagkaroon ng recount, panalo ulit tayo, so ilang panalo pa ba ang kailangan para maniwala siya na hindi siya ‘yung nanalo [noong eleksyon?]” Robredo said.

Yesterday, the supporters of Vice President Robredo and former Senator Marcos gathered in front of the Supreme Court building to show their support to their idol amid the supposed release of PET decision on the poll protest.

However, the Supreme Court postponed again the deliberations on the election protest of Marcos.

Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin also said that he’s not trying to manipulate the result of the poll protest.

“Don’t worry… hindi ko niluluto, hindi puwedeng lutuin ‘yan eh,” Bersamin said.

Robredo defeated Marcos in the 2016 elections by some 260,000 votes, the closest gap in recent memory.

Father Robert Reyes to President Duterte: “Halos sabihin ni Duterte na Diyos siya! Hindi siya Diyos!”

Father Robert Reyes also known as the “running priest” is one of the people who came to the Supreme Court building to show their support to Vice President Leni Robredo who’s fighting for the electoral protest filed by former Senator Bongbong Marcos against her.

Reyes held a vigil since yesterday in Padre Faura near the SC building to give spiritual support to the Vice President and also to her supporters.

In one of his mass, he asked the Supreme Court justices to fear God and not to side in favor of the President who almost act like a supreme being.

“Justices of the Supreme Court, show the Filipino people that you fear the God that created you. The God who gave us the Philippines. The God who created every Filipino. This is the God you should fear. Not any other God. Not the God of Duterte. Not Duterte himself, who closely almost calls himself a God. He is not a God,” Reyes said.

He also mentioned what happened to former Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno who got ousted by her owned colleague via quo warranto, saying that only God should act Supreme and not them.

Reyes insisted that the decision of the Justices to remove Sereno is illegal.

“Justices of the Supreme Court of this land. Only God is Supreme, not you. When you use the quo warranto and legally and unconstitutionally expelled one of your peers, the Chief Justice,” he said.

However, some netizens didn’t like Reyes’ actions, saying that the priest is trying to use God in his political beliefs.

“Ang pagka Alam ko Ang panginoong Jesus ay Hindi nakisama sa politika,, Ang Ginawa Lang Niya ay mangaral Ng banal salita,” Netizen Abbigavril Cristobal said.

“Paano nila nagagawa ang mag celebrate ng banal na misa gayong ang kanilang puso at isipan ay may dala dalang galit,” netizen Vladimir Jaquias said.

Reyes is known for showing his support to the opposition key members like Senator Leila De Lima and former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV and also held a mass for them in the past.

After 6 months rehab, Boracay is back as number one island in Asia

After President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the six months rehabilitation of Boracay, the said tourist spot regained its title as the best island in Asia.

The title was given by Conde Nast Traveler magazine in its 2019 Readers’ Choice Awards.

“This itty-bitty island (just under four square miles) in the Western Philippines is as close to a tropical idyll as you’ll find in Southeast Asia, with gentle coastlines and made-for-Instagram sunsets. Fold in a thriving nightlife scene, and you have one of the top tourist spots in the region. Unfortunately, it’s become too touristed—the island closed for “rehabilitation” in 2018 to compensate for overcrowding and unregulated development,” the magazine article said.

Cebu and Visayas Islands also got the second spot while Palawan reached the fourth spot.

Conde Nast Traveler based their decision on their latest survey consisted of 600,000 voters around the world.

The Department of Tourism believes that rehabilitation contributed a lot to the title achieved by Boracay, saying that it became more famous since its reopening.

“Boracay’s rehab is worth it. We are getting high-valued clients,” DOT Sec. Bernadette Romulo-Puya said

In April 2018, President Duterte decided to close down Boracay for a six-month rehabilitation after seeing the deteriorating condition of the said tourist spot.

After its opening, Boracay island set new rules to avoid overcrowding and to prevent businesses from dumping their waste into the sea.

About 400 hotels and restaurants were ordered to close for violating local environmental laws, while 3 casinos have been permanently shut down. Establishments built within the 30-meter shoreline easement were also demolished.
