In a radio interview, Ang said that it’s impossible for him to have a romantic relationship with Nicole because he’s treating her like a daughter.
“Talagang very close ako kay Nicole. Talagang naging parang anak ko na rin talaga ‘yan,” he said.
In another interview, Ang stated that he’s only connected to Gretchen Barreto because of businesses and the latter is not the reason why he lost his contact with Nicole.
“Si Gretchen kasosyo ko sa casino at saka sabong. Si Tonyboy Cojuangco, kasama ko rin sa casino. May junket ako sa mga casino, si Tony kasosyo ko sa Okada,” he said.

He also admitted that he supported the studies of Nicole.
“Si Nicole, pinagaral ko ‘yan, ang nagtrabaho sa akin ‘yung nanay niya. Si Gretchen malapit siya sa asawa ko,” Ang said.
Ang was dragged in the Barreto sisters feud after Nicole claimed in a private conversation that Gretchen stole Atong Ang from her.
“I just want to inform you that I wasn’t thrown to the states. I was there to move on from what Gretchen and Atong did to me. I’m stating the fact that my own aunt stole my boyfriend. The next travels to the states were for my education. Since I do have an education and finished a doctorate. Just so you know. Thank you po,” Nicole told the netizen.
However, Gretchen denied the accusations of Nicole, saying that the latter is the one stole Ang from her another aunt, Claudine Barreto.

“Ano pang gusto ninyo? Buong Maynila may cutting-trip? Kayo ang mandaraya. Mayayabang kayo,” said Moreno.
In a Facebook video, Moreno said that while the jeepney drivers are always complaining about the higher prices of gasoline and other needs for their vehicles, they’re also tricking their passengers by unloading them in the wrong place.
He pointed out that while the jeepney drivers are claiming that they’re poor, they should also remember that most of their passengers are also needy.
“Kung makapag-complain kayo sa gobyerno wagas. Kung makapag-complain kayo sa pagtaas ng gasolina wagas. Lahat ng reklamo sa mundo, magkapag-reklamo kayo wagas. Eh lahat naman ‘yun china-charge niyo sa pasahero. Eh wagas din pala kayo eh. Mandaraya kayo,” The Mayor said.
“Nagbayad ng buo, bakit ang biyahe ay kalahati? Anong ugali ang mayroon kayo? Tapos magagalit kayo sa enforcer kapag nasa ilalim ng puno kasi nagtatago. Aba! Bakit? Kailangan ba naka-display ang enforcer para sumunod kayo? Oh susunod kayo may enforcer man o wala?” he added.

Inaapi ninyo ‘yung pasahero eh. Tanong. Mahirap kayo? Eh mahirap din ang sumasakay sa jeep. Kung mayaman ang mga ‘yun, bumili na ng kotse ‘yun,” he said.

He revealed that he already filed a complaint to Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to remove the franchise of some jeepney owners who are still continuing their cutting trip.
“Patuloy kayong nanloloko ng pasahero. Maliwanag sa mata namin na hindi kayo makukuha sa diplomasya. Maliwanag na sa kaisipan namin na hindi na kayo makukuha sa pakiusapan. Maliwanag sa amin mga puso na kayo ay sagad na sa kawalanghiyaan dahil nakasanayaan niyo na… O ngayon lahat ng lalabag sa cutting-trip. Ito ang mangyayari sa inyo. Today, we filed a case,” he said.
It seems that the rift between the Barretos is not yet over.
On October 19, a screenshot of direct messaging between a netizen and Nicole Barreto, daughter of Jay-Jay Barreto, who’s a brother of Gretchen, has been circulated on the internet.
The discussion opened another controversy between the members of the Barreto clan after Nicole Barreto, accused her aunt Gretchen for taking away her ex-boyfriend Charlie “Atong” Ang.
According to the screenshots posted by Instagram user @Bashing.shing, Nicole denied that she was forcefully transferred to the United States, saying that she went outside the country voluntarily to move on after Gretchen took her ex-boyfriend Atong Ang who’s a known gambler.
After the discussion between Nicole and the netizen went viral, Gretchen Barreto defended herself from the accusations of her niece.
According to Gretchen, Nicole is the one who stole Atong from her aunt Claudine Barreto.
“I was told that Nicole stole Atong from her aunt Claudine,” Gretchen said on her Instagram story.
She also said that Nicole was being pushed by her mother to have a relationship with Ang.
She also questioned why Nicole is still trying to open the discussion about her relationship with Atong while she already has a baby and boyfriend.
“You just gavve birth & have a boyfriend & yet, hinahabol mo a cliente mong si Atong,” she said.
She insisted that Atong didn’t court Nicole.
Gretchen also said that Atong who’s already married will make a statement in the following days to clarify his relationship with Nicole.
Gretchen also urged her niece to find another rich man and avoid pushing herself to Atong.
“Ask your mom to find you a new wealthy man to hire you,” Gretchen said.
It was reported that Nicole is one of the members of the Barreto family who joined the confrontation that happened in the wake of Mr. Miguel Alvir Barretto.
However, Nicole denied that she’s the one who started the incident.
“Plenty of people witnessed it. I had my arms in the air to show I wasn’t doing anything to her,” Nicole said.
“It’s just unfair that they control the media and twist the facts, I do not regret protecting my Tita Marj,” she added.
The new director for operations of Bacolod City Police (BCPO) Lieutenant Colonel Jovie Espenido warned the lawbreakers to stop what they’re doing in their province or else they might face the ultimate consequences.
In an interview with the reporters, Espenido said that they should reconsider their life and family and stop doing illegal activities.
According to him, they should change their habit and focus on taking care of their family.
“Sa mga gumagawa pa rin ng kalokohan, sana mag-i-stop na. Life is beautiful, you should reconsider that your life is not yours, and also to maintain a good relationship with your family. Pero kung gusto mo talagang magmadali, sana tayo magkita para may resulta,” the controversial cop said.
Espenido said that he doesn’t like to target the small-time lawbreakers because they see them as victims also.
“Sayang ang kinabukasan ninyo. Dapat sana kayo mag-surrender. Tugisin nating yung nag-utos. Yung nag-finance, yun talaga ang pinaka the best.”
The famous cop hopes that he will meet the expectations of the people of Bacolod.
He also asked for prayers so his mission will succeed in the said province.
“I can’t accomplish my target, my mission if I don’t depend on God’s help. Also, include our President (Rodrigo Duterte) in your prayers, for strength to manage the problematic institutions in our government,” he said.
Espenido became controversial after he leads a police operation which ended the political domination of the Parojinog clan in Ozamiz City.
Meanwhile, President Rodrigo Duterte gave his blessing to Espenido to do anything he wanted just to complete his mission in Bacolod.

In a news report, actor and politician Edu Manzano also witnessed how Marjorie, Claudine, Gretchen, and their other family members made a commotion in front of the coffin of Miguel Alvir Barretto.
According to Politiko, Edu Manzano tried to stand in the middle of Claudine and Marjorie to try to break up the fight, however, he was caught by one of the Barreto sister fists.
It was reported that their mother, Inday fainted after she witnessed how her children continued their war even during the wake of their father.
The confrontation began when Claudine asked Marjorie’s daughter, Julia why she’s present in the wake.
“Why are you here?” Claudine asked Julia.
“You, why are you here?” Julia responded.
Claudine felt disrespected and told the other members of the Barreto clan about the attitude showed by Julia.
Julia’s mother defended her daughter which resulted in the confrontation.
Claudine was brought to the hospital after the incident after sustaining some scratches from the confrontation.
President Duterte and Sen. Christopher “Bong” Go were present during the said incident.
“Dun ako nakakita ng parang totoong eksena parang shooting ng eksena sa totoong buhay, kung ano nakikita mo sa pelikula,” Go told reporters in an interview in Novaliches, Quezon City Friday.
“Pumunta po [kami doon] para makiramay sa yumaong ama ng mga Barretto dahil kaibigan po ni Pangulo ang mga Barretto. Unfortunately, may away ang pamilya,” he added.
Veteran journalist Jay Sonza made a post explaining why some athletes are happy under the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte.
In a Facebook post, Sonza said that during the past administrations, the athletes who are giving honor to the country are only being ignored and treated badly.
As a testament to the love of athletes to the President, Sonza posted the picture of Boxing gold medalist Nesthy Petecio hugging Duterte during their meeting at Malacanang Palace.
Petecio, together with gymnast Carlos Yulo and Ernest Obiena received P1-M cash from the government while silver medalists who also visited Malacanang received P500,000.
Sonza even mentioned a statement of a former boxing champion who won Eat Bulaga’s Juan For All, All For Juan Sugod Bahay in 2018, saying that they only served juice and bread during their visit in Malacanang after they won a championship belt.
Sonza is referring to the former boxing champion Sonny Boy Jaro who won a championship belt in 2012.
According to Jaro, he sold his championship belt from collectors because all of the money he got from boxing is gone after he helped his friends and relatives.
“Pumunta kami doon (sa Malacanang) , nganga… kasama pa doon si (Donnie) Nietes tapos si (Johnriel) Casimiro… pumunta kami doon pinag juice lang kami,” Jaro said.
“Kami ayos lang kasi taga Rizal lang kami, malapit lang sa Malacanang, eh si Nietes at Casimiro namasahe pa ng eroplano papuntang Malacanang,” he added.
You can read his whole post below:
“Sir. Mister President. Pa flex lang po dahil sa sobrang tuwa po ng atletang Pinoy ngayon.
Dati-rati po, kapag napunta kami sa Palacio pinaiinom po kami ng juice, piktyur-pikyur, tapos may pramis na cash incentive pero wala naman. tumanda na lang si onyok velasco na Olympic silver medalist, panis pa rin.
Ngayon sir, may pakain pang ginisang Munggo, may patseke na, may paCash PA. may increase training allowances PA.
PaHug naman po sir.
World Boxing Gold Medalist calls on President Duterte in Malacanang.”
Mainstream media highlighted President Duterte’s air purifier during Indian President Ram Nath Kovind’s visit to Malacanang on Friday.
On Friday, Malacanang explained why President Duterte is wearing the said gadget.
According to Presidential Spokesperson Panelo, Duterte is wearing an air purifier to protect himself from possible respiratory infection and people within his proximity who have coughs and colds.
Some reports also said that some members of the Cabinet are prone to cough. That’s why the President decided to protect himself by using an air purifier.
One of the websites selling air purifiers also said that the gadget is made to protect its user by cleaning the air by removing airborne pollutants(e.g., viruses, bacteria, pollen, dust, etc.) away from their personal space.
The air purifier wearing by President Duterte raised concerns again from his critics who are trying to urge the government to disclose the health of the chief executive who’s already 74 years old.
Some netizens questioned why the media is trying to point out the purifier wearing by the President instead of reporting the result of the meeting between Duterte and Kovind.
“So? What’s the problem with Mr. President using it? I don’t understand your point in this,” netizen P.J Lao said.
“It isn’t being rude when you want to take care of your own health,” netizen Anne Imlan remarked.
“Marami nyan dto sa hkng. khit ordinaryong mga Tao khit kmi mga ofw naglagay nyan at gumagamit nyan. wag nga ninyo bgyan ng maling pang unawa mga maliliit na bagay tungkol sating Pangulo,” Netizen Angie Daclizon commented.
