Roxas camp realizes something during the campaign: The more you criticize Duterte, the lower you go

The campaign team of Mar Roxas shared that they’re using a different approach on how they will win the 2019 senatorial elections.

According to Caloocan Representative Edgar Erice, campaign manager of Roxas, they said that they’re avoiding to publicly criticize President Rodrigo Duterte unlike the other bets of Otso Diretso.

Erice said that they’re making a way to show that they’re still part of the opposition without mentioning President Duterte’s name directly by talking on “specific policies.”

He said that they’re doing it because Duterte’s popularity made his critics go down.

“I agree with most of them, but surveys show that all those who hit him are down. The harder you hit him, the lower you go.” Erice said.

The camp of Roxas cited what happened to Magdalo Rep. Gary Alejano who’s openly criticizing the President, according to them, despite the popularity of the former Navy Officer, he’s performing poorly on the senatorial election survey.

In some surveys, all the candidates of Otso-Diretso didn’t reach the Magic 12 even Roxas who became the closest rival of Duterte in the last presidential elections.

Unlike in 2016 where Roxas was openly criticizing Duterte, now he’s not releasing statements about the President and only doing campaign silently.

Meanwhile, President Duterte is still publicly criticizing the opposition bets including Roxas in some of his speeches.

“Alam ang ‘Otso Diretso’ pero hindi pangalan ng kandidato!” Political analyst said that LP campaign made its candidates unpopular

According to a political analyst, the strategy of the Liberal Party made it’s candidate unpopular in the 2019 senatorial elections because people just knew the opposition candidates by calling them ‘Otso Diretso.’

In an interview with Inquirer, the political analyst said that LP focused on endorsing “Otso Diretso” too much instead of promoting them individually that made their campaign to backfire.

“They had two brands to build, Otso Diretso and the individual candidates. And they chose the former. Now Otso Diretso is more popular than the individual candidates,” the analyst said.

According to him, in an election candidate must ensure that the people would remember their name because, in the end, the voters are going to shade the politician’s name.

“They invested in a name that won’t even be on the ballot.” the analyst said.

While the opposition is calling themselves in the campaign as part of Otso Diretso, in the ballot, they’re listed as a representative of Liberal Party (LP) which might confuse the voters.

Also in the recent Magdalo survey, all candidates of Otso Diretso didn’t enter the magic 12.

Meanwhile, one of the camps of one of the Otso Diretso candidates, Mar Roxas blamed the ‘yellow’ brand of the Liberal Party for their defeat in the last presidential elections.

Roxas is also campaigning solo, unlike his other party-mates who are visiting different areas in the Philippines together.

Trillanes to Bong Go: Magpa-additional laser tattoo removal sessions ka pa dapat!

Senator Antonio Trillanes IV is not convinced that senatorial candidate Christopher ‘Bong’ Go don’t really have a tattoo at his back.

In his tweet, Trillanes insisted that Go is still not safe from accusations, showing a photo of the right hand of the President while playing basketball.

The photo shows Go having a mark in his right shoulder which according to Trillanes might be a sign of his tattoo.

Trillanes suggested to Go that he should do more laser tattoo removal because he can still see some sign of his tattoo.

“Huli ka! So,Bong Go HAD a triad tattoo afterall. Magpa-additional laser tattoo removal sessions pa dapat si Bong Go bago naghubad kasi may mga bakat at tiratira pa.” Trillanes said.

He also said that if the senatorial candidate insisted that he doesn’t have a tattoo, he should let an independent dermatologist examine it.

“If he still insists na wala talaga, then ipa-examine natin PUBLICLY sa mga INDEPENDENT dermatologists. Pusoy!”

Go has been accused by a whistleblower of being part of an illegal business.

‘Alyas Bikoy’ said that like former Davao City Mayor Pulong Duterte, Go also got a tattoo at his back as a sign of his membership to the group.

To prove that he’s innocent, Go showed his back during a press conference, several of his supporters including Robin Padilla also showed some photo of the candidate’s back.

Netizens raise their eyebrows over a gluta company’s ad against brown-skinned Filipinos

Netizens raised their eyebrows after they saw how a glutathione soap company advertised its brand.

“Maputi lang, hired na? Unfair ‘di ba?” The company said.

The billboards were spread around Metro Manila and the netizens cannot stop themselves from expressing their disappointment over the ad because according to them, the message of the company is to make the brown-skinned people pitiful.

“Congratulations on becoming viral in the worst way.” Spanky Enriquez said.

Another netizen even made a letter addressing the company, saying that she accepted her skin without the help of whitening soap.

“This advertisement will not do anything to help most Filipinas’ esteem & self-love. This will not help society learn that there is not just one set of criteria for physical beauty. This will not teach our society that we are equal no matter the skin tone or skin color or race. If this happened when I was in 6th grade, I would definitely buy these even if my parents will disapprove. Because at 12 years old, I did not know any better. And if I did buy and use these products, I would have not reached this level of self-acceptance and love. Those who will buy your products (because of this ad) may get an immediate and superficial solution to their insecurity, but the chances of them attaining self-acceptance and self-love are very low. We challenge you to heighten your sense of corporate social responsibility,” Netizen Martha Comia wrote.

Even celebrity Bianca Gonzales made a statement over the infamous advertisement.

“There is no problem at all sa mga gustong magpaputi. The problem is when whitening brands make us look [‘kaawa-awa’] dahil lang maitim kami. Kasi, hindi po kami kawawa, maganda ang kulay namin.” Gonzalez said.

“I grew up loving my brown skin because of beautiful women like Angel Aquino and Tweetie de Leon who proudly flaunted their brown skin. I looked up to them. I did not need to compare myself to fair skinned girls. It need not be a “battle” of maitim versus maputi.” she added.

“I now have two daughters, and both of them are morena. When they grow up, choice nila kung magpapa-tan or magpapaputi sila. But what I will teach them is that being brown is not something “shameful”, and being brown is not something that makes them less beautiful than others.”

Meanwhile, netizens also swarmed the social media pages of the said glutathione company.

The company defended themselves from the criticisms saying that their campaign didn’t mean to be against brown-skinned people, but to “empower” the Filipino people to “choose how to find their confidence”.

“According to our research, mayroon parin talagang mga taong nakakaranas ng unfair treatment. Based on a poll, nearly half of Filipinos believe that those with darker skin are judged negatively by others,” the company told one complainant.

Kris Aquino slams Roxas camp for blaming the ‘yellows’ for their loss in 2016 elections

Kris Aquino made a series of tweets against the camp of senatorial candidate Mar Roxas after Caloocan Rep. Edgar Erice who’s also the campaign manager of the latter blamed the ‘yellows’ for his loss against President Rodrigo Duterte in 2016.

In a series of Instagram posts, Aquino slammed Roxas questioning why the camp of the former DILG secretary is blaming his brother.

FYI: You lost not because of “BATMAN” You lost because you were no match for “IRONMAN”,” Aquino said in her already archived Instagram post.

In her lengthy post, she also narrated how she got a problem with her brother former President Noynoy Aquino after she posted last year on social media why President Duterte won against Mar Roxas in 2016.

She said that despite having a bad status with her brother, she cannot attain that people are blaming Noynoy for someone’s defeat.

“Pati ba naman pagkatalo sa 2010 kasalanan din ni Noy?” Aquino said in her lenghty message to the camp of Roxas.

She also expressed her support to senatorial candidate Bong Go at the end of her post.

“I believe Bong Go is THOR,” she said.

In another post, Kris addressed her brother, saying that despite the yellow political signature color of the Aquino family was already tainted, she will still stay loyal to Noynoy even if the latter’s closest political ally in the past is blaming him now.

In her third post, Kris again addressed her brother making him realize that despite they already lose their power, they’re still there supporting him.

“PEACEFUL TRANSITION OF POWER. Mom’s greatest lesson given to us… President Duterte was whom the majority chose through the democratic right to vote that our parents gave their lives to fight for… Hindi tayo yung pino-portray, we are not power hungry, we are not sore losers- dahil pinalaki tayo na alam- PAHIRAM lang ang panahon sa Malacañang.” she said.

“Gusto ko lang sariwain sa yo- you did our family proud. kung walang credit ngayon, kung insulto ang maging “dilawan”- sana tingnan mo kung sinong katabi mo nung naging Citizen Noy ka na ulit- kung ano ang bilib nung dalawa sa yo nung panahon na presidente ka, hindi naman nagbago dahil sa kanila ikaw si TITO NOY.” she added.

Kris Aquino also explained to her fans why she archived her post against the camp of Mar Roxas.

According to her, Sen. Kiko Pangilinan asked her to stop criticizing Roxas on social media.

Yesterday, the camp of senatorial candidate Mar Roxas admitted that the former DILG Secretary’s close political relationship with the ‘Yellow’ made him lose the 2016 presidential election.

In an interview with Inquirer.net, Caloocan Rep. Edgar Erice who’s also the campaign manager of Mar Roxas this senatorial election said that their “color is blue” now because of a big reason.

“It was a conscious decision [to change colors] because one mistake [Roxas] made in 2016 was acting like Robin to [Aquino’s] Batman … and Robin will never be Batman,” Erice said.

Inday Sara says Gutoc intends to wear her lifevest in a wrong way: “Kung ano ang gawin para mapag usapan gagawin niya”

Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) Chairman and Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte believed that Otso Diretso senatorial candidate Samira Gutoc intended to wear her life vest in a wrong way during her visit in Masinloc, Zambales to catch the attention of the public.

In an interview, Duterte said that any politicians will do their best to be remembered by the public even in an extreme way.

“Yun nga ang sinasabi ko, baka din sinadya niya kasi niya it’s election time.. it’s campaign time at kung ano ang magagawa ng isang kandidato para mapag usapan siya ay gagawin talaga yan ng isang kandidato,” Inday Sara said.

“Dahil yun ang hinahanap nila para people will look at them and listen to them,” she added.

Gutoc became viral on social media after the netizens noticed that one of her photos shows her wearing a life vest incorrectly.

However, Gutoc said that it’s better to make some mistakes in wearing life vest than having the wrong principle.

“Mali man po ang pagkakasuot ko ng life vest, hindi naman mali ang aking paninindigan.  Ang mahirap ay tama ang iyong suot, pero ang kaluluwa, puso’t isipan ay naibenta na sa China,” Gutoc said.

Aside from Gutoc, other Otso Diretso candidates went to Masinloc to urge the President to go to Scarborough Shoal and defend our claim against China.

It seems that Kitty is not affected by the accusations threw against her by a whistleblower who claimed that she’s receiving money from illegal businesses together with other members of the Duterte family.

Two months ago, the President already made an early gift to Kitty after they went to Hong Kong.

“I go to Hong Kong to celebrate the birthday of my wife. That was the order of my daughter. And the order of my daughter, I follow,” Duterte said

Elizabeth Oropesa to Agot Isidro: “May i ask you, what have you done to help this country?”

Another post from the past has gone viral on the internet.

Actress Elizabeth Oropesa made an open letter to her showbiz colleague Agot Isidro in 2016 after the latter called President Rodrigo Duterte a ‘psychopath.’ in one of her social media posts.

The open letter was recirculated on the internet for the second time three years after it was first uploaded.

In her open letter, Oropesa criticized Isidro for disrespecting the President, asking her if she did better for the country than Duterte.

According to her, Isidro should focus on helping other people and avoid creating noises on the internet by criticizing the President.

“Elizabeth Oropesa To Agot Isidro, I am also one of those 16 million DUTERTARD and supporting a psychopath President as of how you disrespectfully describes him! You may call the President whatever you want, but you can never deny what he had done in just 100 days. May I ask you, what have you done to help this country? Have you even at least donate some of your wealth to help the poor??? Why not share and help instead of making nonsense noise.” she said.

The veteran actress also called Isidro ‘small-minded’ because of her mentality that the Philippines will be going to suffer forever as a third world country.

She suggested that if she doesn’t want to live in a developing country, Isidro can leave whenever she wanted, but if the latter chose to stay in the Philippines, it’s better for her to keep silent.

“I’ve seen you as a well-educated and sophisticated woman but just now I came to know how small-minded you are. If you always regard your country as a ‘3rd world country’ then you will forever be in a rut because of your mentality. And I’m sure, you never and will never experience hunger all your life. I admire more those ordinary people who, despite being poor, are fighting for their country’s independence against foreign nations. Why don’t you leave the country and go somewhere else, not in a 3rd world country, you are free to do that! But if you don’t have plans to leave, then do your country a favor, Shut up!” Oropesa wrote.

“Keep yourself away from the dirty world of politics. Focus in showbiz. Though I know you are entitled to your own opinion, but then, if you don’t have anything constructive to say, again, please keep quiet. The best thing you can do is pray for your country and our leaders that they may be able to deliver what they need to do for the common good of the people.” she added.

Oropesa also hoped that Isidro is not included in the suspected celebrities who are involved in illegal drugs.

Three years after the post was wrote, Oropesa is still a pro-Duterte while Isidro is still supporting the movement of the opposition.

Isidro is now the girlfriend of Otso Diretso senatorial candidate Florin Hilbay.

As of writing, the post already reached 100,000 reactions and 56,000 shares on Facebook.

Bato left the campaign sortie topless after giving his last t-shirt to supporters

Retired General and senatorial candidate Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa left the sortie in Marawi City topless after he gave his own campaign t-shirt to his supporters.

In a video, it was shown Bato was already topless while leaving the sortie via vehicle, he went outside his car to told his supporters that they out of campaign shirt that even his own clothes have been given already.

“Wala ng t-shirt!” Dela Rosa shouted to his supporters while leaving Marawi.

His uploader of the video, Charlie Macaayan said that Bato showed his love to his supporters by giving his own clothes to them and leaving the area topless.

Bato went to Marawi City together with other PDP-Laban candidates. President Rodrigo Duterte postponed his visit in the said sortie because of bad weather.

The retired General is getting good rankings in both SWS and Pulse Asia survey giving him more hope that he would win the upcoming election.

Samira Gutoc to her critics: Di man tama ang pagsoot ko ng life vest, hindi naman mali ang paninindigan ko!

Otso Diretso senatorial candidate Samira Gutoc criticized the people who ridicule the way she wore a life vest during her visit at Masinloc town in Zambales.

In a statement, she said that not fighting for the rights of the Filipino fishermen allegedly receiving bad treatment from the Chinese Coast guard is worse than wearing a life vest in the wrong way.

“Mali man po ang pagkakasuot ko ng life vest, hindi naman mali ang aking paninindigan.  Ang mahirap ay tama ang iyong suot, pero ang kaluluwa, puso’t isipan ay naibenta na sa China,” Gutoc said.

She also responded to senatorial candidate Christopher “Bong” Go to offer her a tutorial lesson on how to ride a jet ski.

However, she wanted the lesson to happen near Scarborough Shoal (Panatag Shoal).

“Call ako dyan, and I truly appreciate his offer.  Pero gawin ang tutorial sa Scarborough mismo or sa Kalayaan Islands […] Kahit alalay nya lang ako, sya ang bida, payag ako. At bilang malapit sa Presidente, he can ask the Coast Guard for permission to sail there, which was denied us last April 9,”

Gutoc, together with other senatorial candidates of the opposition went to Zambales last week to urge President Rodrigo Duterte to take an action against the Chinese Coast Guards trying to shoo the Filipino fishermen in Panatag Shoal.

They said that they originally plan to visit Panatag Shoal, however, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) barred them from traveling there.

Meanwhile, the Armed Forces of the Philippines denied the claims of Otso Diretso, saying that anyone can go there as long as they’re gonna inform the PCG.
