Pang aso yan! Residents of Baliuag Bulacan return rice saying that it’s poor-quality

Residents of Barangay Poblacion, Baliuag Bulacan raised the eyebrows of the netizens after they returned the rice distributed for them because of being poor-quality.

In a video posted by netizen Marikit Alvaran, it showed the residents putting the packs of rice inside a sack while mocking its quality.

One resident even called the rice fit for dogs only.

“Hindi ako kumakain niyan,” the first woman said.

“Ayan, para sa aso,” the second lady remarked.

Netizens couldn’t hide their anger over the residents who returned the rice.

“Kayo na biniyayaan, kakapal pa ng mukha ibalik. Hoy! Hindi lang kayo ang nangangailangan ng makakain araw-araw! Ibigay yan sa mga taong mas nangangailangan! Ke aarte! Tapos pag wala na makain, sa gobyerno aasa! Titigas ng mukha! Akala niyo naman sa mansion kayo nakatira. Pwe! Grasya tinatanggihan!” netizen Jance Teodoro said.

“Hay grabe gusto nyo palitan? Sana magpasalamat pa kayo. Maliit man yan or malaki. Maraming tao ang mas nangangailangan pero di bibigyan ng tulong,” netizen Clea Spedding commented.

While some social media users said that the rice may be really inedible because of its poor-quality, several supporters of the Captain of Barangay Poblacion Christopher Alvaran cooked it to show that it’s a fine grain.

Alvaran also posted a message addressed to the critics of the Barangay Captain of Poblacion.

“Si Kap na isang kilo eyebag masigurado lang na lahat kakain. Yung mga frontliners na naghakot, nagrepack, nagpamigay. Yung mga tanod na puyat kakabantay para masigurong walang magkakasakit. At yung mga TAXPAYERS na nag ambag ambag para sa kapwa Pilipino. Mahiya kayo!!! Si Mayor Ferdie may pamanok pa and pa almushare araw-araw. Kayo? Hihilahilata tapos pag bigayan, pag di pasok sa standards nyong akala nyo anak kayo ni Belo kung makapag inarte. Aba matindi!” she said.

As of writing the video already reached 13,000 shares on social media.

Former Senator Jinggoy Estrada to San Juan residents: “Mamimigay ako ng tulong kahit ikulong nila ako!”

Former Senator Jinggoy Estrada was brought to the police station by the members of San Juan PNP for allegedly violating the enhanced community quarantine rules being implemented in the city.

According to the camp of Estrada, they’re just distributing relief goods to the residents of San Juan when police arrived and invited them to the police station.

The politician was informed that they violated the social distancing measure during the distribution of the relief goods.

However, Estrada said that his team assured that they told the beneficiaries to observe social distancing while lining up for the food aid.

“I was pretty sure… ‘yung mga tao ko, inutusan nila ‘yung mga tao to observe social distancing.” Estrada said.

Jinggoy’s father Former President and Manila Mayor Joseph Ejercito Estrada also rushed to the police station to defend his son.

Estrada also posted a message to his supporters on Facebook, assuring that the distribution of relief goods would be undisturbed despite what happened.

“Sa aking mga kababayan sa San Juan, Umasa po kayo kahit ako ay ikulong nila dahil sa pagtulong sa inyo, hindi pa rin po ako titigil sa pagtulong sa inyo lalong-lalo na sa mga nangangailangan!” Estrada said.

San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora who’s also a political enemy of the Estradas said that the former Senator distributed relief goods without proper permit from the LGU.

“Sapagkat itong si dating Senador Jinggoy Estrada ay ilang araw na pong nag-iikot dito sa lungsod ng San Juan na walang authority,” Zamora told TV Patrol.

“Kung gusto niyang tumulong sa ating mga mamamayan, ayon sa DILG [Departmenf of Interior and Local Government], kailangang kumuha ng certification sa local government,” he added.

This is not the first time that the members of the Estrada clan and the Mayor of San Juan clashed amid the ECQ.

Last week, the “rolling stores” launched by Jinggoy’s daughter, Janella Estrada was blocked by Zamora.

“Ihinto mo. Sige mayor ihinto mo. Tingan natin. Pagkatapos ‘yung mga tindera ng palengke pinagsabihan mo na ‘wag sumama rito sa rolling store ni Janella,” the former Senator stated.

“Talagang pinahihirapan mo eh no. Wala kang puso talaga eh no,” he added.

Baron Geisler to Francis Leo Marcos: “Nakakahiya kang tao, makukulong ka din eventually”

Actor Baron Geisler criticized businessman and philanthropist Francis Leo Marcos, calling him ‘delusional’ for claiming that he’s part of one of the most powerful clans in Northern Luzon.

Geisler, in a vlog called the “Mayaman Challenge” launched by Marcos as “not funny”.

“Francis Leo Marcos, na hindi ka tunay (na Marcos)… nakakahiya kang tao, you are delusional, siguro humingi ka ng dispensa eventually, makukulong at makukulong ka eventually, ang kagandahan lang nito, oo nakakatulong ka pero pwede namang gawing tahimik at hindi puro yabang, kasi marami tayo diyan hindi lang ikaw ang tumutulong, may mga tahimik na taong tumutulong,” Geisler said.

The actor then said that Francis Leo was seeking for attention, especially to the members of the Marcos clan who already disowned him.

He suggested that Francis Leo should help the people silently instead of boasting it on social media because what he’s doing is not funny anymore.

“Nakakadiri ka, sa mga taong katulad namin na lahat pantay pantay pero pinapakita mo na magbibigay kami ng bigas, magbibigay kami ng ganito… mahiya ka sa kaluluwa mo, hindi lang naman ikaw ang gumagawa niyan dahil marami, at yung mayaman challenge is a delusional attempt to make you popular,” he said.

“It’s disgusting as a human being to watch you, do that to people who are having a hard time right now so you’re just using their weaknesses now so you can be popular, you are a disgusting, disgrace to the Marcoses and to the Filipinos,” he added.

Geisler also criticized his friend Barangay 413, Sampaloc Manila Chairman Andrew “Kanto Boy” Lopez for being part of Francis Leo’s Mayaman Challenge.

“Pare wala akong respeto ‘sayo kahit kumpare kita, nakakahiya ka bilang chairman o ano man, nakakahiya ka, for being part of that,” he said.

“Ayusin niyo yung character niyo, pakainin niyo yung mga tao ng walang halong yabang,” he added.

According to the actor, it’s already obvious that people involved in the ‘Mayaman Challenge’ are just trying to become famous for their future political plans.

As of writing, Francis Leo Marcos is not yet releasing a response to the criticisms of Geisler.

Francis has been accused of pretending to be a part of the Marcos family and as a nephew of former President Ferdinand Marcos; however, several members of the influential clan already disowned the businessman.

There are also rumors that the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) was already investigating the people involved in the Mayaman Challenge.

“Ang daming malilikot ang utak ngayon, kasi ngayon yung mga scams, ‘yung mga phishing dumadami… may mga nagpo-project pa nga dito na kunwari ay namimigay sila ng mga bigas tapos ay icha-challenge nila yung isang class ng society para mag donate din, ‘yun pala ang end goal is to ask for donations na itatago niya rin pala at hindi ipamimigay,” Victor Lorenzo, head of NBI cybercrime division said.

Francis Leo Marcos challenges Arnold Clavio in a fistfight: “Hindi kita titigilan!”

Businessman and philanthropist Francis Leo Marcos slammed journalist Arnold Clavio for mentioning him into his radio show as one of the possible scammers being investigated by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

Marcos’ temper rose during his live video and challenged Clavio in a fistfight.

The businessman couldn’t understand why Clavio criticized him while he’s only trying to help the people.

“Nananahimik akong tumutulong sa kapwa at sa ating mga kababayan, binanatan mo ko sa GMA, pinakamalaking network para sirain ang pagkatao, gagamitin mo pa ang sangay ng kapulisan, gagamitin mo pa ang sangay ng gobyerno,” he said.

He even vowed to criticize Clavio everyday and the journalist has no right to explain because he started it.

According to him, Clavio is the one who should be investigated by NBI, saying that the journalist allegedly posted false news about a hospital in Metro Manila.

Marcos also pointed out that during the interview with Clavio, NBI cybercrime division head Victor Lorenzo refused to name they’re being investigated amid the COVID-19 crisis.

In another video, Marcos said that he would forgive Clavio if he’s going to distribute two kilos of rice for every family in Tondo, Manila.

“Pag hindi mo nagawa, mas masakit at mas maaanghang na salita ang ipapakain ko ‘sayo hanggang sa matunaw ka,” he said.

On April 7, Clavio mentioned Marcos during an interview with a high-ranking NBI official.

Lorenzo mentioned one case where a man would show generosity to the people by giving sacks of rice to them and challenge the wealthy people to do the same.

“Ang daming malilikot ang utak ngayon, kasi ngayon yung mga scams, ‘yung mga phishing dumadami… may mga nagpo-project pa nga dito na kunwari ay namimigay sila ng mga bigas tapos ay icha-challenge nila yung isang class ng society para mag donate din, ‘yun pala ang end goal is to ask for donations na itatago niya rin pala at hindi ipamimigay,” Lorenzo said.

Clavio then asked Lorenzo if he’s referring to Marcos.

“Ganoon kasi ‘yung style niya, challenge… mayaman challenge diba?” Clavio said.

NBI to investigate alleged scammer who distributes rice to lure rich people in his foundation

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) hinted that they’re already investigating different kinds of scams being used amid the COVID-19 crisis.

Victor Lorenzo, head of NBI cybercrime division revealed that they’re already trying to investigate the people trying to take advantage of people affected by the enhanced community quarantine.

According to him, some scammers are even doing publicity stunts like showing that they’re giving sacks of rice to the people and challenging others to help also.

However, Lorenzo said that this kind of scammers is just trying to build connections to the wealthy and convince them to donate to their fake foundations.

“Ang daming malilikot ang utak ngayon, kasi ngayon yung mga scams, ‘yung mga phishing dumadami… may mga nagpo-project pa nga dito na kunwari ay namimigay sila ng mga bigas tapos ay icha-challenge nila yung isang class ng society para mag donate din, ‘yun pala ang end goal is to ask for donations na itatago niya rin pala at hindi ipamimigay,” Lorenzo said.

One of the hosts of the radio program, Arnold Clavio asked Lorenzo if he’s referring to Francis Leo Marcos, who’s known on social media for giving sacks of rice to the people and also challenging the rich people to do the same.

“Ganoon kasi ‘yung style niya, challenge… mayaman challenge diba?” Clavio said.

Lorenzo refused to answer Clavio’s question, but he said that they’re trying to investigate scammers.

Lorenzo said that people who are trying to scam people amid the COVID-19 crisis may face a punishment of 6 years to 12 years of detention.

Clavio then interrupted, saying that not only the enhanced community quarantine violators could face punishments, but also those ‘KSP’ or people seeking for attention.

The statement of Clavio got the attention of the supporters of Marcos and they started to criticize the journalist, accusing him of urging NBI to investigate the businessman.

Boy Abunda opposes lockdown for senior citizens: “To me, it’s discriminatory to a certain point.”

TV host Boy Abunda opposed the plan of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) to disallow senior citizens to go out of their houses amid the general community quarantine (GCQ) being enforced in some provinces in the country.

In an interview with Pep.ph, Abunda said that IATF should study the said proposal carefully as many senior citizens are still working like him.

According to him, the said proposal is discriminatory because it forced the senior citizens who wanted to be productive to stay at home.

“They’re marginalizing a big part of the population, lalo na yung 60 to 65 years old,” sabi niya. Maganda yung intent ng panukala, pero ang pananaw ko, there’s a big chunk of healthy seniors. And nalaman natin in the past months that COVID-19 just doesn’t attack seniors, although vulnerable sila.

Abunda pointed out that most of the high-ranking officials in the government are senior citizens and even the President of the country, Rodrigo Roa Duterte is already 75-years-old.

The TV host also called the proposal ‘discriminatory’.

“A lot of the first and second layers of offices or government agencies are seniors. And these are people who have to move around to be able to implement programs and policies. Sa mga industriya rin, private industries, marami rin. To me, it’s discriminatory to a certain point.” he said.

Abunda also said that while the real intention of the IATF is s to protect the senior citizens in the country, the host said that the government possibly hasten the creation of the proposal.

“You have to also remember na most of these decisions are made really quickly. It is our responsibility to react, to respond, and to engage people in healthy conversations,” the TV host stated.

“This is not the time also to be divided. This is not also a time to quarrel. I don’t think we should get there. Yung may disagreement tayo, pag-usapan nating mabuti. Pero ako, halimbawa, in normal times, it’s really discriminatory. It’s marginalizing healthy seniors,” he added.

Meanwhile, IATF clarified that working senior citizens are allowed to go out.

“The operating guidelines are to be issued. Of course, the seniors who are actively working or running businesses will be allowed. We will use ID system,” Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez said in a statement

Drilon wants to investigate labor attaché in Taiwan for planning to deport an OFW critical of President Duterte

Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon wanted to probe the labor attaché to Taichung, Taiwan for planning to deport an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) who has gone viral on the internet because of criticizing President Rodrigo Duterte.

Drilon was referring to the case of Elanel Egot Ordidor also known as Linn Silawan on social media who faced possible deportation because of her posts against Duterte.

In a statement on April 29, Drilon urged the Department of Labor and Employment Secretary Silvestre Bello III to recall labor attaché Fidel Macauyag, calling him “unfit, incompetent and unqualified” to promote and protect the welfare of thousands of overseas Filipino workers in Taiwan like Ordidor.

“Mr. Macauyag’s irresponsible act toward a helpless overseas Filipino worker is clearly an abandonment of his sworn duties to protect the welfare of OFWs,” said Drilon.

Drilon also described Macauyag’s action as “stupidity at the highest level” saying that posting on social media against the President should not be a reason for an OFW to get deported.

“His mandate is to promote the welfare of our OFWs. He has shown the highest level of ignorance. Worse, his action embarrassed the Philippine government,” he said.

“I am saddened by what is happening with the officials tasked to protect our people. How come that they have gone astray this far?” he added.

Macauyag is the one who confirmed the cyber libel charges filed by DOLE against Ordidor for posting “nasty and malevolent materials against President Duterte on Facebook intended to cause hatred amidst the global health crisis brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic,”

“It has come to our knowledge that Ms. Ordidor is using several social media accounts, among which are Lenale Elanel Egot, Mha Lan Dee, Linn Silawan and Hampas Lupa and has a group organized to discredit and malign the President and destabilize the government,” Macauyag said on a statement released on April 25.

“Due to her acts, POLO coordinated with her broker and employer on her deportation on the basis of the gravity of Ordidor’s offense under Philippine Law. The sharing and posting of such videos are punishable under Cyber libel under Republic Act No. 10175,” he added.

Taiwan already rejected the request of DOLE, saying that Ordidor was only exercising her freedom to speech.

Ordidor also said that she’s not going to be frightened by the case filed against her.

“Dito natin papatunayan sa laban nating ito na hindi tayo basta basta magpasindak… kung sino ako, kung ano ako, buhay ko ang kapalit ng prinsipyo, walang sinuman magdikta sa akin, walang sinuman ang pwedeng mag dikta o magpabago sa paniniwala, laban ko ay laban ng bawat Pilipino,” the Filipina caregiver stated in her latest Facebook live video.

OFW who criticizes Duterte says that she’s not afraid of the charges against her: “Walang sinuman ang makakapag dikta sa akin!”

The Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) who wanted to be deported by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said that she’s not afraid of the charges filed against her for being critical to President Rodrigo Duterte.

In a Facebook live video, Elanel Egot Ordidor also known as Linn Silawan on social media told her families and friends that she’s going to fight for what is right.

Ordidor also insisted that she didn’t say anything wrong on her past videos, saying that she’s only expressing her opinions about the government.

“Sa mga kamag anak ko, eto ang sasabihin ko, ilaban ko hanggang sa dulo ito, manalo man o matalo, lalaban ako, tumatayo ako sa sarili kong paa, tumatayo ako sa sarili kong prinsipyo, hindi ko kailangan hingin ang suporta niyo,” Ordidor said.

She denied that some big personalities are trying to control or fund her to criticize President Duterte.

“Patunayan muna nila ang kanilang sinasabi, bago sila magsasalita, sa mga taong nagsasabi na ako ay may sakit, dito natin patunayan, dito natin umpisahan ang pag sugpo ng kasinungaling, ngayon palang hihimukin ang mga taong nagsasabi ng malisyoso laban sa aking pagkatao, patunayan niyo ang sinasabi niyo,” she said.

The Filipina caregiver assured her fans that she’s not going to be pressured by the people against her.

“Dito natin papatunayan sa laban nating ito na hindi tayo basta basta magpasindak… kung sino ako, kung ano ako, buhay ko ang kapalit ng prinsipyo, walang sinuman magdikta sa akin, walang sinuman ang pwedeng mag dikta o magpabago sa paniniwala, laban ko ay laban ng bawat Pilipino,” the Filipina caregiver stated before ending her Facebook live.

Ordidor has gone viral on the internet because of her statements against President Duterte, calling the government ‘inutile’ and criticizing the people supporting the chief executive.

“Napaka iresponsable ng gobyerno meron tayo, napaka inutil sa totoo lang…” she said.

On April 25, DOLE asked Taiwan to deport Ordidor for her viral videos against President Duterte.

However, Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) on April 27 rejected the request of the Philippines, saying that overseas workers like Ordidor has their right protected.

On April 29, Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) chairman and resident representative Angelito Banayo issued the apology before Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) after Taiwan rejected the request of the Philippines to deport Ordidor.

“When I learned about the press statement issued in Manila, I immediately got in touch with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to apologize for the wording of whatever statement it was that talks about deportation,” Banayo said in an interview.

“Deportation is the sovereign privilege of the host country. nothing we can do about their decisions on deportation,” he added.

Lawyer says that the government can cancel the passport of the OFW critical of Pres. Duterte

A lawyer said that the Filipina caregiver who posted videos against President Rodrigo Duterte could face passport cancellation if the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is serious in punishing the latter.

On a Facebook post, Atty. Trixie Cruz-Angeles said that DOLE could just simply cancel the passport of Elanel Egot Ordidor also known as Linn Silawan on social media.

According to her, cancelling the passport of Ordidor would save time and the government doesn’t need to ask Taiwan to deport the Filipina caregiver who called the government ‘inutile’.

“If the DOLE is serious about sending Ms. Elanel Egot Ordidor home, it’s next step would be to file charges here in the Philippines and then have her passport canceled,” the lawyer said.

“When her passport is canceled there will be no need to request deportation, as she will no longer have a necessary travel document. MECO (Manila Economic and Cultural Office) will only have to notify the Immigrations authorities in Taiwan,” she added.

Cruz-Angeles also questioned why DOLE chose to file cyber libel charges to Ordidor that could give them a hard time to punish the OFW, citing that the President is required to personally file a complaint against the Filipina caregiver.

The lawyer suggested that instead of filing cyber libel, against the OFW, they should file ‘cyber inciting to sedition’ charges against Ordidor.

According to Art. 142 of the Revised Penal Code, circulating “scurrilous libels against the Republic of the Philippines or any of the duly constituted authorities,” can also be considered as inciting to sedition.

“Taiwan is a sovereign, independent country where foreign workers enjoy ‘citizen treatment,’ and their rights and interests are protected by relevant laws and regulations, including freedom of speech, which should be respected by governments of all countries,” MOFA statement reads.

“No person or institution, in this case, has the right to pressure her, her employer, or broker, nor shall she be deported without consultations held between both governments,” it added.

Pahirap lang sa mga professionals! Rep. Paolo Duterte wants to junk Trillanes’ CPD law

Davao City 1st District Representative Paolo ‘Pulong’ Duterte wanted to erase the law crafted by his political nemesis, former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV.

Four years after the enactment of Republic Act No. 10912 or the “Continuing Professional Development Act of 2016,” Duterte, who’s also a Deputy Speaker of the Congress said that it’s already time to junk the said law.

According to Duterte, Trillanes’ CPD law only gave problem to the professionals who were forced to spend money and time just to renew their licenses.

Duterte said that the Congress could help to pass another law that is better than the law crafted by the former Senator.

“While we support lifelong learning among our professionals to further their craft, the requirements set by the CPD law just adds to the burden they have to deal with. After a long day of work, they are forced to spend a bulk of their salary, take absences from work, and go through unreasonable hardships just so they can renew their licenses and continue the practice of their professions,”  the presidential son said.

“This CPD law is uncalled for. To address this, we will file a bill repealing this anti-professional measure introduced by Trillanes. We can actually help our professionals meet global standards through other means, without passing the burden to them,” he added.

Duterte also said that repealing the CPD law is the way of the lawmakers to thank the Filipino professionals for their hardwork.

“Our proposed measure is also to serve as gratitude to our professional frontliners who continuously render their service to our nation, especially in this time of crisis. We have witnessed the selfless acts of our professional frontliners. They do not deserve the CPD law,” Duterte said.

“This is long overdue. We will not just file it for the sake of filing. We will file this bill, seek support from our colleagues in Congress, and make sure that this is enacted as soon as possible,”  he added.

CPD, under the constitution, “refers to the inculcation of advanced knowledge, skills and ethical values in a post-licensure specialization or in an inter- or multidisciplinary field of study, for assimilation into professional practice, self-directed research and/or lifelong learning.”

The said law makes CPD as a mandatory requirement to professionals to renew their licenses.

CPD can be earned by taking additional training, former and non-formal.

Bloggers like RJ ‘Thinking Pinoy’ Nieto expressed their support to the move of Rep. Duterte.

Some followers of Thinking Pinoy also expressed their thoughts on the CPD, saying that it only became a business.

“Imagine, you have a PhD in your profession with 20 yrs of experience and need to attend training for CPD, listening neophytes from your crafts. CPD law is a business,” Ongayo Bao said.

“CPD law is the reason why I did not renew my engg license. It has become a milking cow of the respective organizations. Sobrang taas din ng number of points needed,” Enyllerin Osorio commented.

“CPD Law is as rubbish as the one who made it. We’ve struggled enough to get our license. He could have implemented a free CPD law to every professionals who need to renew a license,” netizen Jun Rah remarked.

Trillanes is not yet releasing a statement on the move of Duterte.
