President Duterte to Facebook: “What would be the point of allowing you to operate if you cannot help us?”

President Rodrigo Duterte has a strong warning to Facebook after the said company disabled several pages connected to the military and the police.

In his latest speech on Monday, Duterte said that the government was expecting the said social media platform to help the government in promoting their advocacy including the fight against CPP-NPA.

The President also asked why Facebook should still be allowed to operate in the country.

“Itong Facebook naman, from what I learned in the past days, na pati yung advocacy ng gobyerno tinatanggal. We allow you to operate here, hoping that you could help us also. Now, if government cannot advocate something which is [for] the good of the people, then what is your purpose here in my country?” said Duterte.

“You know Facebook, insurgency is about overturning the government. What would be the point as it is before, in my eyes. What would be the point of allowing you to continue if you cannot help us?” he added.

Government cannot use it for the good of the people? Then we have to talk,” he also said.

Duterte pointed out that many lives of innocent civilians and soldiers were losing because of the rebellion happening in the country.

“Kung hindi tayo magkaintindihan netong Facebook na ‘to, I really do not know. But my job is to protect government interests, If you cannot help me protect government interest, then let us talk. We may or we may not find the solution.” he said.

“You cannot lay down a policy for my government. I allow you to operate here. You cannot bar or prevent me from espousing the objectives of the government. Is there life after Facebook? I don’t know,” he added.

A few days ago, Facebook announced that they removed several Facebook page showing support to President Duterte and some of them were also connected to the military and police.

A Facebook page being managed by parents of children allegedly recruited by the communist group was also removed.

Journalist Arnold Clavio encouraged the people to unite regardless of their political beliefs in his Instagram post.

Clavio who watched Duterte’s first United Nations General Assembly speech said that the people should read the speech of the President and “cherish” it.

He even shared some of the highlights of Duterte’s speech which according to him were considered as important issues that should be discussed.

The journalist recently faced issues after Sarah Balabagan claimed that they had a relationship when she was only 16 years old.

Duterte made his speech on September 23 (Manila Time) and one of the most memorable remarks of the President was the stance of the Philippines on the South China Sea dispute.

?? ?? ?? Ang paninindigan niya sa ilang mahalagang isyu na kailangan na malaman ng lahat: (Sa COVID 19) “The world is in the race to find a safe and effective vaccine. When the world finds that vaccine, access to it must not be denied nor withheld. It should be made available to all, rich and poor.” (Frontliners): “We salute all frontliners who put their lives on the line even in countries not their own. So also do we honor and recognize the healthcare professionals who selflessly answered the call to combat the COVID-19 pandemic despite its virulence and unknown characteristics.” (West Philippine Sea): “The Philippines affirms that commitment in the South China Sea in accordance with UNCLOS and the 2016 Arbitral Award. The Award is now part of international law, beyond compromise and beyond the reach of passing governments to dilute, diminish or abandon. We firmly reject attempts to undermine it.” “I therefore call on the stakeholders in the South China Sea, the Korean Peninsula, the Middle East and Africa: if we cannot be friends as yet, then in God’s name, let us not hate each other too much. I heard it once said, and I say it to myself in complete agreement.” “Let us empower UN – reform it – to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow. Let us strengthen it so it can fully deliver its mandate to maintain peace and security, uphold justice and human rights, and promote freedom and social progress for all. After all, we are the United Nations.” Klaro. Malinaw. Mararamdaman mo na kay sarap maging Pilipino. Mabuhay!!! ? ???

Even the critics of President Duterte praised the said speech and hoping that the government was serious in defending the territory of the country.

Julia Barreto files complaint against veteran journalist Jay Sonza for claiming that she’s pregnant

Kapamilya actress Julia Barreto personally went to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Cybercrime Division to file a complaint against veteran journalist Jay Sonza.

A few days ago, Sonza claimed in a Facebook post that Barreto was pregnant with Gerald Anderson due to the community quarantine.

Sonza said that pregnancy rumors only prove that Barreto and Anderson could produce a child.

After months of love lockdown – may nabuo sa sinapupunan ni Julia,” Sonza added.

Barreto quickly debunked the rumors spread by Sonza and even showed her tummy to prove that she’s not pregnant.

Sonza then withdrew his claim about Barreto’s pregnancy and apologized for what he posted.

The journalist said that someone “admitted” the pregnancy of the Kapamilya actress so he couldn’t stop himself from congratulating the celebrity couple.

Sonza has yet to give comments over the legal action filed against him by Barreto.

The veteran journalist is a known critic of ABS-CBN.

Yesterday, Barreto’s colleague, Liza Soberano also filed a complaint before the cybercrime division against a telecom company worker who made an intimidating comment against her.

Trillanes not impress with Duterte’s UN speech about West Philippine Sea claim: “Wag kayo pat*nga-t*nga!”

Not everyone was impressed with President Rodrigo Duterte’s United Nations General Assembly speech yesterday.

While Duterte received praise from retired Supreme Court justice Antonio Carpio and former Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert Del Rosario, former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV still slammed the President, saying that he’s not sincere with what he’s saying.

In a tweet, Trillanes that the people who believed his speech are the ones who was convinced that Duterte would really personally visit the West Philippine Sea using a jetski.

“To believe duterte now on his UN statement re WPS, is like believing his jetski campaign promise all over again. Utang na loob, wag kayo pat*nga-t*nga!” Trillanes said.

Aside from Trillanes, Senator Leila De Lima also criticized Duterte and called his UN speech “fake”.

“I have only one word to describe the Duterte who spoke last night before the UNGA (United Nations General Assembly). Plastic. As fake as the dolomite beach his government wasted millions on in the middle of a pandemic,” De Lima wrote.

In his first UN speech, Duterte invoked the arbitral victory against China’s claims in West Philippine Sea in 2016.

“The Award is now part of international law, beyond compromise and beyond the reach of passing governments to dilute, diminish or abandon. We firmly reject attempts to undermine it,” Duterte said.

“We welcome the increasing number of states that have come in support of the award and what it stands for — the triumph of reason over rashness, of law over disorder, of amity over ambition. This – as it should – is the majesty of the law,” he added.

“Ang problema kasi VP Leni, if you make suggestions like that, measures that are being done by the government or already done, e ang lumabas ay sinisiraan mo ang gobyerno pinalalabas mo na walang ginagawa, yan ang problema,” dagdag pa niya.

“We will do our best na talagang gawing effective lahat yan and at the same time i-reinforce pa yan,” ani DENR Undersecretary Benny Antiporda.

A netizen answered Vice President Leni Robredo’s response to President Rodrigo Duterte.

During a cabinet meeting yesterday, Duterte couldn’t stop himself from criticizing Robredo and even challenged her to spray pesticides to the whole country if she really wanted to end the crisis without waiting for a vaccine.

“Etong si Leni kung ano ano pinagsasabi, alam mo Leni kung gusto mo if you really want sprayan natin itong Pilipinas o Manila ng pesticide galing sa eroplano para p*tay lahat,” sabi ni Duterte.

Robredo quickly made a response on social media and cited four possible solutions for the government to fight the pandemic.

Netizen MJ Quiambao Reyes then made a Facebook post to counter Robredo’s post, saying that what the Vice President was suggested has been already being done by the government.

Quiambao said.

She then suggested to Robredo to coordinate with the government agencies so she would be informed about the actions made by the current administration to address the pandemic.

“Also, we had enough of those broad, general, & motherhood statements fr you. Kung magpapakitang gilas rin lang, galing galingan na and be more specific. Lay out some measurable, do-able, detailed plan outlining actions/activities along with estimated costs & schedule. Ganern! For once, Mem, bigyan nyo po kami ng pagkakataong matuwa sa inyo sa halip na matawa o mabahala.” she added.

The post of Quiambao reached 4,000 reactions and 343 shares on social media.

Xyriel Manabat slams netizen who made “kaya ka nababastos” remark to her

Xyriel Manabat defended herself from the critics who are defending the disrespectful comments against her.

Yesterday, Manabat has gone viral on social media after her latest pics wearing a simple t-shirt has been circulated on social media.

Manabat who started her career as a child actress in 2009 in ABS-CBN addressed the public yesterday, saying that she’s not being flattered by the comments she gained from the netizens who noticed her body change.

Minor man, girls, boys, anumang age, anumang gender or anuman ang suot sana po walang ganoon. Never po siyang nakakatulong.

She then replied to one netizen who blamed her for the disrepectful comments she received.

God bless po praying for you to be enlightened po and stop victim blaming po,” she told the netizen.

Yesterday, Manabat also questioned why Instagram removed her photo because it’s against the “community guidelines” of the said social media platform.

The photo has now restored on her profile.
