Banat By slams Immigration officials for offloading Filipinos: “Sa pagkakaalam ko ang Pilipinas ay demokratikong bansa”

Talent manager and Vlogger Byron Cristobal, popularly known as ‘Banat By’ criticized the officials of the Bureau of Immigration for being too strict with traveling Filipinos.

In his social media post, Cristobal reminded the immigration officials that the Philippines is a democratic country and its citizen has the right to travel.

It can be recalled that immigration officials were in hot water because of some reports of travelers who were offloaded because of alleged unnecessary questions being asked of them before allowing them to travel.

Freelance writer Cham Tateras, one of the passengers who claimed to experience convenience because of an immigration official said that the one interviewed her was asking for her yearbook to prove her story.

Because of the said immigration official, Tateras missed her flight to Israel and was even required to buy another ticket.

The said official has now transferred to another office and insisted that he didn’t ask for a yearbook from Tateras.

A priest traveling to Kidawan shared his experience after being suspected by the authorities because of the carved figure he was transporting using his car.

In his Facebook post, Father Jonel Peroy, a parish priest based in Digos City, Davao del Sur shared his conversation with the cops who stopped him after they saw the covered carved figure of Santo Entierro in the backseat of his vehicle.

While he knew that he was not doing something wrong, he couldn’t stop himself from sweating while talking to the authorities who were curious about the thing he was transferring.

Peroy said.

He has no choice but to unwrap the carved figure to convince the authorities that he’s not hiding something.

Peroy also informed the cops that he was a parish priest.

The authorities quickly apologized to the priest after realizing their mistake.

Despite the incident, Peroy praised the authorities for being vigilant and maintaining peace and order.

Former Kapamilya actress Hope Soberano made an apology to his former home network, ABS-CBN, and to her other colleagues who were affected by her statement in her controversial 14-minute vlog.

It can be recalled that Soberano faced one of the biggest issues of her career when she claimed that she was restricted to express her ideas while working for ABS-CBN.

“I’ve been in six feature films, over 500 episodes of teleserye, and have only really dabbled into three main genres romance, comedy, and drama. Since I was 16, I had only really worked side by side with one main co-star, with the same production company, rotating around the same three directors. During all those years, I was never really asked for my input, my thoughts, my ideas,” the actress stated.

“I’ve sacrificed myself, I’ve sacrificed my freedom, I’ve sacrificed my happiness to present Liza Soberano to the world, and I think I’ve earned the right to finally be me,” she added.

However, Soberano suddenly changed her tune and became apologetic for her past statement.

“ABS-CBN was always my second home. I devoted so many years to them. I’m sorry again also to them if there were people that I’ve worked closely with that were offended by some of the things that I said in my vlog. That wasn’t the intention but then also I’m thankful to them,” Liza said.

“And they know this, I’m thankful for them for taking a risk on me when I was a nobody, for investing in me, developing me, creating Liza Soberano. And thank you also for being so understanding when I decided to no longer renew with them,” she added.

She also apologized to her former talent manager Ogie Diaz.

“I would say sorry if I hurt his feelings and I would say thank you for everything that I have, everything that I know, and everything that I’ve achieved through his help,” she said.

It’s not yet known if the apology made by Liza was enough to be forgiven by her former colleagues.

Cristy Fermin defends Vice Ganda for buying P380,000 dog: “Pera po nila ‘yan at kaligayahan nila ‘yan.”

In a rare opportunity, veteran columnist Cristy Fermin defended Vice Ganda in her program ‘Cristy Ferminute’ after the comedian received criticisms from some netizens for buying a pomeranian worth P380,000.

Vice received negative comments from the netizens because the comedian bought a pet worth hundreds of thousands of pesos instead of adopting abandoned dogs in shelters.

Cristy gave her thoughts on the decision of Vice, saying that the comedian has the right to choose where to get her pet.

The columnist also shared that she was a dog lover also so she understood the comedian.

Cristy said.

“Kaya hindi dapat bina-bash si Vice Ganda at saka si Ion Perez kung bumili man po sila ng Pomeranian na nagkakahalaga ng P380,000.” she added.

She also said that there were other dog breeds that are more expensive than the pomeranian bought by Vice.

Veteran columnist Cristy Fermin believed that the fate of the longest-noontime show Eat Bulaga was still uncertain despite the news circulating on the internet that the executives of Television and Production Exponents Inc. (TAPE Inc.) allegedly backed out from their rebranding plans.

In her radio program ‘Cristy Ferminute’, Fermin said that the reports about the decision of the Jalosjos family to postpone their plans to takeover Eat Bulaga are ‘fake news’.

“Wala pa, wala pang katiyakan,” she added.

She explained that Tape Inc. has yet to release an official statement about the issue.

“Kasi nga April 15 ang kanilang sinabi kung kailan sila magsasalita na at magbibigay kanilang opisyal na pahayag tungkol sa Eat Bulaga diba.” she said.

It can be recalled that Cristy was one of the first entertainment columnists who revealed the rumored internal issue between the executives of Eat Bulaga.

Actress Lorna Tolentino debunked the story of an old woman who claimed that she was the sister of the late actor Rudy Fernandez.

It can be recalled that local radio station Brigada News FM Butuan featured the story of the 85-year-old woman Lola Teodola Galacio who claimed that she took care of Rudy during his youth.

Galacio narrated that because they were poor, her parents were forced to give Rudy to a wealthy family.

The video reached more than 7-M views online and the relatives of Fernandez were already aware of the story.

In an interview with Philippine Entertainment Portal, Tolentino said that they have legal documents that would prove that the claims of Galacio were not true.

Even Rap Fernandez, the son of the late actor called the claims of Galacio false.

“News organizations should fact-check and verify before publishing anything,” he said.

Fernandez who’s one of the most popular actors in the Philippines passed away in 2008 after his battle with cancer.

He appeared in hundreds of movies and shows and became known as ‘Daboy’.

Actor Enchong Dee quickly shared his answer after being invited to become the groomsman to the rumored wedding of Arjo Atayde and Maine Mendoza.

Veteran columnist Cristy Fermin couldn’t hide her curiosity about the silence of one of Eat Bulaga hosts Allan K about the rumored internal issue between the executives of the longest-running noontime show in the country.

In her online program, Cristy Ferminute, the columnist mentioned the cautious comments of Allan about the said issue, suspecting the the veteran comedian was waiting for something to happen first before making comments.

Cristy asked her co-host Rommel Chika.

Rommel then gave his thoughts about Allan, saying that there’s a meaning behind the silence of the comedian.

The veteran columnist then asked if Allan is looking for a greener pasture amid the issue.

“Ano to langgam, naghihintay kung nasaan ang asukal? Aba, ewan ko nalang. Basta hindi maganda,” Fermin responded.

It can be recalled that Allan refused to give a comment about the issue.

“Huwag muna.” Allan said.

It can be recalled that some Eat Bulaga hosts were ready to leave the show if ever the rumored rebranding was going to happen.

Veteran columnist Lolit Solis took a swipe against Liza Soberano for complaining about how her work in showbusiness stole her childhood.

It can be recalled that Liza made a 14-minute vlog that became controversial because of her statement against her former colleagues, claiming that she was restricted to express her ideas.

“I’ve sacrificed my childhood. I’ve sacrificed my freedom, and I’ve sacrificed my happiness to present Liza Soberano to the world, and I think I’ve earned the right to finally be me, to finally be able to do things for me as Hope Soberano.” she said.

Lolit wrote a social media post, comparing Liza to Romnick Sarmenta and Camille Pratts who also started in showbiz at a young age.

You owe it to yourself na maging maligaya, kaya bakit kailangan gawin mo isang bagay na ayaw mo.

Lolit said.

She even reminded her readers that the talent fee of an artist for one day might be bigger than a monthly salary of a lawyer or doctor.

Lolit said.

Kaya malaki din ang dapat isakripisyo, you give something for what you get .

Netizen praises Ogie Diaz management to Liza Soberano: “Wala akong masyadong narinig na negative issues about Liza”

A netizen praised Ogie Diaz’s management despite the claims of actress Liza Soberano about the commissions being taken from her by the talent manager.

It can be recalled that Liza claimed that she’s only receiving around 30% of her talent fee because of her managers, including Ogie.

However, a netizen believed that the management style of Ogie saved Liza from controversies during her career as one of the most popular actresses in the Philippines.

According to netizen Mercy Orio, Ogie protected Liza well.

“Each of you as an artist are all treated as sons and daughters ng mga managers nyo.

She also believed that the talk about commissions should stay private.

“Tungkol naman sa komisyon, may kontrata kayo. So, dapat sundin lang. If there are adjustments, nasa sa inyo na yun. No need na sanang imention, kasi naging malaking issue tuloy.” she stated.

Mercy also said that it was better for Liza to just be grateful for what she achieved as an actress in the Philippines, instead of complaining.

“Siguro nga nagsimula lang talaga na sana naging grateful ka nalang sa kung ano at sino ang pinanggalingan mo.” she said.

As of writing, the comment already reached 1,500 reactions.
