Mark Bautista admitted that his decision to admit that he’s a member of the LGBTQ community made some of his former colleagues stay away from him.

In an interview with Boy Abunda, Mark said that while he had no regrets about coming out, he admitted that it quickly affected his social life and career.

According to him, he felt that some of his friends were already distancing themselves because of his admission.

However, he was surprised that some people who were not even close to him expressed their support.

“Meron naman sa showbiz na naging distant dahil feeling nila I was just doing it for publicity, so medyo doon ko nakilala ang pagkatao.” Mark said.

“Mas na-shock ako sa mga taong hindi ko in-expect na magsu-support sa akin. Mas yun ang pinanghahawakan ko,” he added.

Despite being part of the LGBTQ community, Mark said that he was still interested in doing roles for straight men.

But according to him, most of the offers he was receiving were different now than before.

“Nagkaroon na ng limitation yung ibinibigay na offers, o nai-stereotype na yung roles na puwedeng ibigay sa akin. Gusto ko pa ring gawin na parang, like normal na role, or like yung straight na role.” he stated.

“So, after nung mag-book ako, marami ring nag-offer sa akin na movies na gagawin, but puro BL (Boys Love),” he added.

He was also worried that his admission would affect his singing career and questioning himself if he was still sellable to the concert-goers.

Veteran columnist and talent manager Lolit Solis praised Kapuso broadcaster Arnold Clavio for his attitude and work ethic.

In her Instagram post, Solis shared a photo taken by her friend who met Clavio, saying that her buddy was lucky to have a picture with the respected journalist.

Solis shared that Clavio was one of her followers who always read her columns.

She also shared that the journalist remained humble despite his success.

“Alam mo bang lagi binabasa ni Arnold ang column at IG ko para malaman mga tsismis, hah hah hah, joke joke. Isa si Arnold Clavio sa mababait na celebrity na very credible at masipag sa kanyang trabaho kaya matatag at laging pinaglakatiwalaan.” Solis said.

“Gustong gusto ko mga interview ni Arnold na talagang direct to the point pero ma respeto at hindi intimidating. Kahit kailan hindi yumabang si Arnold Clavio kaya naman marami nagmamahal sa kanya.” she added.

Clavio was also known for being religious and almost became a priest in the past.

However, despite his good background, Clavio was receiving criticism because of his past relationship with former singer Sarah Balabagan.

Until now, some netizens were talking about the said issue, but Clavio never made a statement about it.

Sarah Lahbati’s mother couldn’t hide her dismay towards her former employee who also worked with her child.

In a Facebook post, Esther Lahbati posted a photo of her former employee that was taken in Sagada, saying that the latter should face her and tell the truth.

According to Mrs. Lahbati, the former employee allegedly blamed her for leaving her job as a housekeeper of Sarah.

Lahbati reminded her that she reached Sagada because of her daughter.

“Hoy babae humarap ka sa akin sabihin mo ang tutuo hindi yong gumagawa ka ng ka dramahan.ako pa talaga ang ginamit mo para sa ka sinungalingan mo. ang kapal ng mukha mo ako pa ang idadahilan mo sa pag alis mo!magharap tayo para malaman ng amo mo kung ano ang pinag ga gawa mo.” Lahbati said.

She even revealed that their former employer was not good at treating the child of the actress.

The former employee of the actress has yet to give any respond to Mrs. Lahbati’s claims.

Television host Kris Aquino publicly urged her ‘friend’ Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste to prioritize his job as a public servant instead of visiting her in the US.

It can be remembered that Leviste was actively giving updates about Aquino while she was in America for treatment.

While Aquino appreciated the presence of Leviste, she reminded the public official that he was elected by the people of Batangas to serve them and not her.

Former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas made a rare public appearance since losing his political comeback attempt in 2019 during the 75th death anniversary of late President Manuel Roxas.

The said event was held amid the Capiztahan Festival that was being held in Capiz.

In the said photos posted on social media, it can be seen that Roxas talked to Vice President Sara Duterte, the child of his nemesis, former President Rodrigo Duterte.

Some photos from SMNI confirmed that the two talked briefly, but there are no details about their discussion.

“Ang taunang tradisyon na ito ay isinasagawa upang magbigay parangal at pag-alala sa mga makabayan na kontribusyon ni dating Pangulong Roxas sa ating bansa,” the Vice President said.

The former secretary is the grandchild of former president Roxas.

Meanwhile, some netizens questioned the meeting between the two and reminded Roxas of what he said about Davao City in 2016.

His criticisms against former President Duterte were also believed to be the reason why he lost his attempt to return to politics in 2019.

However, there were rumors that Roxas may become a public official in the future because he is a cousin of First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos.

An office of the Land Transporation Office (LTO) went viral on social media after a member of the LGBTQ community shared a photo showing that they were part of the priority lane in the said government establishment.

The photo posted by Jefferson Cortez, Chief of Staff at Ateneo de Naga University Supreme Student Government, showed that aside from Senior Citizens, Pregnant Women, and persons with disability, LGBTQ members were also part of the priority lane of LTO San Isidro District Office in Isabela.

Cortez believed that the decision of the said LTO office was a victory among LGBTQ.

“Mga accla, we are winning, priority na tayo,” Cortez said.

The photo gained mixed reactions even among the members of the LGBTQ community.

According to some netizens, the decision of the said LTO office might give a bad impression on their community.

“Ha? Why? When they observe “totally capable” individuals using the priority lane merely because they belong to that community, it could possibly fuel greater prejudice and stigma. Then perhaps a large number of people will pretend to be part of that group in order to get that privilege.” netizen Ajhay said.

“Being a member of LGBTQIA+ Community does not, will not and should not grant you special privileges such as this. Gender equality does not call for specialized treatments but rather EQUAL, EQUITABLE, JUST and INCLUSIVE rights,” netizen RA remarked.

As of writing, LTO San Isidro has yet to explain why they included the LGBTQ+ on their priority lane.

 

 

 

 

Atty. Anthony Mark Emocling, naging kauna-unahang bulag na nakapasa sa bar exam sa Pilipinas

For the first time, a visually-impaired man passed the bar exam that was held last year.

University of Baguio (UB) Law School alumnus Anthony Mark Emocling made history for being the first blind bar passer in the country.

Emocling, who’s a son of a taxi driver, was also a cum laude graduate of Political Science at the same university.\

Ilocos Sur Mayor Pablito Sandidad Sr., who’s a professor of Emocling, congratulated the new lawyer for making history.

“Congratulations ANTHONY MARK DULAWAN EMOCLING!!! My blind student at the University of Baguio, School of Law (UBSOL) who against all the odds and despite being blind is now a Lawyer!” he said.

Emocling received praise from the netizens for his achievement.

“Congratulations Attorney for a dream come true. Your truly blessed good luck together with your family most especially to your parents. God bless,” netizen Ressie said.

“Congratulations on ur determination to achieve whatever any normal person can do! Truly nothing can hinder ur willpower. God bless u more Atty!” netizen BobRaq commented.

A man couldn’t believe that he would become an instant millionaire because of the snail that he was planning to eat for lunch.

In a report made by Pattaya News, Amorn Prakongkwan, 54, luckily picked up a very rare pearl inside the snail he was planning to eat .

The said pearl has been identified as a Melo pearl also known as ‘Dragon Pearl’ that could only be acquired inside a Melo snail, a species of sea snail.

According to Amorn, he saw the pearl during the cooking process of the snail.

He even threw away the pearl but decided to pick it up again, suspecting that the said stone might have value.

His guess was right, and an expert informed him that the pearl he took was very rare.

After inspection, the pearl has been proven authentic and weighs over 10.33 carats.

While the experts have yet to determine the price of Amorn’s pearl, it’s possible that it could be worth more than 1.6-M pesos.

The pearl still needs more inspection to determine its exact price.

Meanwhile, Amorn bought the snail where the pearl came from for only P65 pesos per kilo.

Experts warned the netizens who were expecting to be like Amorn that Melo pearl was extremely rare and the man was only very lucky to get one.

Gab Valenciano, the son of Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano, decided to leave the Philippines for good.

In his social media post, Gab posted a photo together with his parents during his departure from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

According to him, he decided to live in Los Angeles, California, permanently.

“A new season, a new chapter, a new step. Many years in the making, and finally, here we are. I am back in LA for good and ready for what’s to come. My heart is full and overflowing with excitement and gratitude!!” Gab said.

“The past six years have been quite the journey. A lot of ups and downs and a whole lot of experiences that I believe have prepared me for this very moment. I am thankful for the people I’ve met and learned to love along the way. You all know who you are and I just want to say thank you and I love you, deeply. I wouldn’t be here if not for all of you.” he added.

It can be remembered that Gab actively joined the campaign period in 2022 to promote a certain candidate.
