Like Liza Soberano, it seems that Xander Ford also decided to rebrand himself after several shifts in his career.

In an interview, the influencer who’s now calling himself as ‘Xander Arizala’ shared that his biggest regret in his career was becoming known as ‘Xander Ford’

“Siguro ‘yung biggest regret ko, ‘yung sumikat ako as Xander Ford. ‘Yun yung gusto kong balikan. Tapos gusto kong gawin, tanggalin lahat ng mga dapat di ko ginagawa — immature, walang respeto…” Xander said.

“Hindi ako marunong magsalita ng ‘po’ at ‘opo’ dati. Then ‘yung pagiging pasaway at pagiging magstos. Napakgastos ko nun. As in maluho ako dati sa sarili ko. ‘Yun yung mga gusto kong iwanan noon na pinagsisihan ko,” he added.

It can be recalled that Xander, previously known as Marlou Arizala, underwent plastic surgery and changed her name to Xander Ford.

His transformation became one of the most trending topics in 2017. However, he didn’t evade controversies because of rumors about his bad attitude.

In 2019, Star Image Artist Management already decided to take back the name Xander Ford to him because of repeated controversies he made.

However, the internet celebrity claimed that he had already changed himself for the better because of being already a father.

The sad ending of the partnership between Ronnie Suan, also known as Boy Tapang, and Filipino-American influencer LJ Satterfield went viral on social media several days ago.

However, it seems that Ronnie has already found his new partner, another controversial influencer Lai Austria.

In the video uploaded by Lai on February 28, it can be seen that Lai collaborated with Ronnie in her ‘mukbang’ vlog.

The two talked about themselves while eating and even laughed together.

Ronnie was also game to exchanging green jokes with Lai.

He also shared how he started as a content creator, making extreme eating challenges.

Filipino basketball player Kai Sotto at the age of 20 already become one of the most popular cagers in the country because of social media.

However, the popularity of the 7’2-player of Hiroshima Dragonflies already became an ‘internet meme’ because some vloggers made unreal comments about his performance in basketball.

Sotto started trending on social media when he attempted to enter the NBA, and many sports vloggers featured every step he made during his journey.

Some netizens criticized the said vloggers for making unrealistic predictions and hyping Sotto.

One of the most famous lines used by vloggers when featuring Sotto was ‘ginulat ang mundo’ (shocked the world).

It seems that even Sotto was already aware of the meme about him.

In his social media post, he reacted to a fan telling him he shocked the world again with his decision to transfer to B.League.

A moment between mother and son became viral on social media, touching thousands of netizens’ hearts.

In the video uploaded by Gabriel Angelo De Guzman (@gbrl.dc), who’s working as a nurse, it can be seen that he was giving his first salary to her mother as a sign of gratefulness for the support he received from his parents.

According to him, he was not obligated to help his mother to support her despite being capable already of having a job.

“Ang buong iniisip ko lang that time habang hawak ko na yung sweldo ko is kahit maliit man ‘tong sweldo ko, makakabawi ako sa lahat ng ginastos at paghihirap niya para makahanap ng pera na ipang gagastos saming magkakapatid,” he said.

The mother of Gabriel hesitated at first to accept her son’s first salary and vowed to return it once she earned enough money.

She even became emotional because of being proud of the gesture shown by her son.

“Unang sahod mo to, tatanggapin ko to pero ibabalik ko sayo kasi pinaghirapan mo to. So ito, iingatan mo ‘tong pera mo.” she said.

The video received thousands of shares and views from netizens who couldn’t hide their emotions because of the sweet moment between mother and child.

COMELEC, junks the disqualification case filed by a woman who claims to be the legal wife of Sen. Raffy Tulfo

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) junked the case filed by the woman who claimed to be the legal wife of Senator Raffy Tulfo and wanted him to be disqualified from his current position as a lawmaker.

In the resolution released on February 28, COMELEC denied the disqualification case filed by Julieta Licup Pearson, saying that there’s no valid ground to reverse the previous ruling in favor of Tulfo.

In 2021, Pearson filed a case against Tulfo because the latter declared ACT-CIS party-list Rep. Jocelyn Pua Tulfo as his wife instead of her.

Several photos of Tulfo and his alleged daughter to Pearson were also posted on social media.

“The two statements indicated by the respondent in his certificate of candidacy are both false, and the respondent is fully aware of these facts. JOCELYN PUA TULFO IS NOT HIS LEGAL WIFE,” Pearson said.

In 2019, Pearson also filed a bigamy case against the journalist-turned-senator saying that their marriage was still valid.

“Bigamy happens if you enter into another marriage with another person while your first marriage is still subsisting without acquiring a judicial declaration declaring the said first marriage null and void or through annulment,” Pearson’s lawyer Atty. Lifrendo Gonzales explained.

“In this case, there was no annulment, there was no nullity of marriage. So at the time that Mr. Raffy Tulfo entered into a second marriage, his first marriage is still subsisting.” he added.

It can be recalled that Tulfo admitted that she made a mistake in the past and had a child with another woman.

However, he said the woman was only trying to file cases against him because he didn’t follow her demand for money.

“Noong ako po ay isa pa lang struggling broadcaster o naghihikahos na mamamahayag, maraming taon nang nakararaan, I reached out to my daughter with her, at nagkita po kami ng aking anak sa kanya at ako po’y nagbigay ng tulong pinansiyal at mga regalo,” Tulfo said.

“She’s already married to a foreigner and she’s asking 100 million pesos or else gigibain daw niya ang buhay ko,” she added.

Actress Rita Avila denied the accusation from some netizens that she was already out of her mind because of her treatment of her dolls.

In an interview, Rita revealed that she sometimes considered her doll as human and even talked to it sometimes.

Rita said that she’s only ‘childlike’ and not what her critics thought.

“I’m simply ano, childlike. Kasi ‘yung mga kaklase ko noong high school, oo kahit naman elementary pa lang nagdadala ka na ng manika sa school. I’m simply ano, childlike. Kasi ‘yung mga kaklase ko noong high school, oo kahit naman elementary pa lang nagdadala ka na ng manika sa school,” Avila said.

“Yung sa akin normal, syempre sa ibang tao pinag-iisipan nila ng masama. Kaya sabi ko nga para ng mga sira ulo ‘tong namimintas sa akin kasi mas iba ‘yung imagination nila ‘di ba?” she added.

In her latest social media post, she addressed again her critics who accused her of being crazy because of her dolls.

According to her, she was already collecting dolls even before she had become pregnant.

“Haters gonna hate daw sabi ng isang well meaning follower. Wag daw ako bumaba sa level ng haters. Sabi ko tama sha, tama ako. Oo bumababa ako sa level ng haters para sagipin sila sa kasalanan at ignorance. Pokwang reveals that she’s already in the process of changing the surname of her daughter Malia O’Brian

Pokwang revealed that she’s already in the process of legally changing the surname of her children Malia O’Brian.

This was after she announced her problems with her former partner Lee O’Brian who was rumored to be having a relationship with another woman.

She confirmed her move when a fan suggested that she must change the surname of Malia.

“Ganda ng anak mo Madam, if ako syo sunod mo sa surname mo. Hindi worth it gamitin nya surname ng ex mo. Ms. Universe Malia Subong in the making,” the netizen said.

“Inaasikaso ko na po,” Pokwang responded.

However, the process of changing the name of Malia might not be easy and possibly become costly to the actress.

According to the website of Duran & Duran-Schulze Law, a court order was required to change surnames in the Philippines legally.

The Supreme Court also already made a decision in the past that a child’s surname change may only be granted when they reach legal age.

The highest court in the country also released some grounds for a change of surname.

Here are the grounds according to legalbeagle.com

When the name is ridiculous, dishonorable, or difficult to write or pronounce
When the change is a result of legal proceedings, such as legitimation (i.e., when an illegitimate child’s father is legally recognized as his father)
When the change avoids confusion
When a person has used and been known by a Filipino name since birth and was unaware of alien (non-Filippino) parentage
When a person sincerely wants to adopt a Filipino name in good faith to erase signs of alienage
When the name causes embarrassment, and the change is not against the public interest.

As of writing, Lee never made any statement on his issue with Pokwang.

Past interview of Tau Gamma Phi founding father Tito Venida, criticizing initation rites of his fraternity recirculates

The demise of John Matthew Salilig raised the discussion of whether the initiation rites being performed by several fraternities in the Philippines should be stopped for good.

John Matthew lost his life after he underwent a ritual performed by Tau Gamma Phi, and instead of reporting it to the authorities, his so-called ‘brothers’ left him and buried his body in a gated residence.

The case revived the public’s calls to ban fraternities in the Philippines and also the strict implementation of 11053.

Even the old interview of the founding father of Tau Gamma Phi, Tito Venida, has been recirculated on social media because he was also against the initiation rites allegedly being done by his brothers.

In the interview that was uploaded in 2012, Venida considered the initiation rites against the law of the land and God.

“In so many years that we have been existing, I think, and I believe we’ve taken so many innocent lives. That’s what makes me really concerned about going about a fraternity preaching no h–ing policy,” he said.

“If I can stop my fraternity from taking another human life, then I have done what the LORD has commanded me, and that would be pleasing to His name.” Venida, who’s also a Christian, added.

He even admitted that his fraternity already took many lives.

However, his opinion was not being favored by other members of Tau Gamma, and some even petitioned to remove him from the list of Founding Fathers of the fraternity because of his different beliefs.

Liza Soberano made her reaction to the statement of her former talent manager Ogie Diaz.

It can be recalled that Ogie made a statement after Liza claimed in her 14-minute vlog that the people managing her became restrictive and not allowing her to express her ideas.

“Gusto ko na lang unawain at intindihin ang kanyang kwento tungkol sa 13 years ng kanyang showbiz career. Kung sinasabi ni Liza na parang kino-kontrol siya ng mga tao sa paligid niya, kung ako man ‘yan at sa Star Magic, gusto kong magpasalamat kay Liza kasi sinunod niya kami kaya siguro, sumikat siya,” the talent manager said.

Ogie also wanted Liza to just focus on her career in the Philippines because her name was already established here.

Even columnist Cristy Fermin called out Liza for her statement, saying that she was disappointed by the lack of debt of gratitude by Liza to her former talent manager.

However, Liza clarified that she didn’t forget the things Ogie did to boost her career as an actress.

“I feel like a lot of people have mixed reactions towards my vlog, but I’m speaking for my experiences, and I will reiterate that I am truly grateful for everything that I had and everything that I had experienced, everything that I have achieved in life.” she said.

“And I acknowledge that I wouldn’t have any of that if everybody along the way wasn’t there with me,” she added.

Ogie has yet to give a response to Liza.

Actor Aljur Abrenica expressed doubts about the new boyfriend of his former partner Kylie Padilla.

In an interview with Pep.ph, Aljur said that he was not okay with not knowing the personality and other information about the new partner of Kylie.

Aljur pointed out that he wanted to know the people caring for his two children, Axl and Alas.
