Actress Yasmien Kurdi couldn’t stop herself from giving her opinion over the exaggerated reaction made by thousands of netizens to a post about a P299 engagement ring.

In her Facebook post, Yasmien said that the netizens were overreacting to the said issue, saying that she didn’t receive any engagement ring from her husband, Rey Soldevilla, but they’re still happy.

“P299 na ring issue… medyo OA. Ako nga wala naman ako engagement ring, tapos wedding rings namin di naman nasosoot kasi di kami sanay. Kasal namin 20k lang,” said Yasmien.

She said that it would be better for planning couples just to invest the money they initially wanted to spend on a piece of ring.

“In my opinion, iinvest niyo nalang pera niyo sa lupa at bahay. Para di kayo mamulubi sa renta at di puro porma. Laking tipid ng hindi nagrerenta ng bahay. Ang material na bagay nadadala lang yan. Minsan nagmumukhang mahal kapag proud mo siya sootin. Minsan naman ang mahal ng soot ng isang tao, pero di naman mukhang mahal. Di ko din alam kung bakit,” she stated.

The post received mixed reactions from the netizens.

It can be recalled that an anonymous netizen posted a ‘confession’ and questioned her worth after she received a P299 engagement ring from her boyfriend.

However, there was a possibility that the story was false as there was also a woman who received a P299 engagement ring several years ago, but they’re still married.

Netizens couldn’t find the interview conducted by Luis Manzano with Claudine Barretto after Raymart Santiago’s legal team reminded the public about the gag order imposed by the court on the former couple.

It can be recalled that Claudine accused Raymart of running away with their money worth hundreds of millions of pesos.

“Ngayun since malaki na yung mga anak ko, Sabina wants to study abroad, Santino is in Brent, and alam naman natin kung gaano kamahal non, so parang… since hindi nya nabibigay yung support na inorder ng court, hindi nasusunod, parang yun yung sinasabi ng Mom mo ipaglaban mo,” said Claudine. “So this time malaki na yung mga anak ko inexplain ko na ok we have to… kukunin ko na ulit kung ano yung akin, we’re talking about hundreds of millions eh,” she said.

However, Raymart’s legal team said that it would be illegal for Claudine to speak about the case.

“We will not address, dignify, or respond to any statements made by Ms. Barretto regarding our client, for doing so is a breach of the Gag Order issued by the Honorable Court where the parties’ case for nullity of marriage is undergoing trial,” Raymart’s legal team wrote.

“The Gag Order dated 20 September 2023 of the Honorable Court directed that the parties refrain from expressing in any form, making any defamatory statement or comment, or answer questions pertaining to the other party, and from publicizing the same through print, broadcast media, or digital media. This Gag Order remains to be binding upon the parties,” they added.

They also urged Claudine to follow the gag order.

“We will ensure that all legal actions will be taken to protect our client’s rights. The truth regarding the matter will come to light in the proper forum. We continue to put our trust in the judicial system of our country, where due process, justice, and the rule of law have always prevailed,” dagdag warning pa ng mga abogado,” they said.

Meanwhile, Luis has yet to give any response to the statement made by Raymart’s camp.

Popular Filipino Pediatrician Dr. Richard Mata believed that it would be better for Television and Production Exponents Incorporated (TAPE Inc.) to stop claiming the title ‘Eat Bulaga.’

Amid the major legal victories Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon gained, Dr. Richard’s statement on June 6 went viral again.

The statement was about his opinion about the trademark and copyright rivalry between TAPE Inc. and the newly established TVJ Productions.

According to him, the title of a show doesn’t define its success, and TAPE would still get fans as long as they picked their hosts properly.

He believed it would be more difficult for the new hosts, including Paolo Contis and Isko Moreno, to carry the show because of its title.

“If magagaling talaga ang new hosts ng new Eat Bulaga, then better let go of the title Eat Bulaga and let them create their own success,” said the doctor. “May sentimental value na yang EB. Mas mahihirapan silang magpatawa,”

“The success of a noontime show depends on the hosts and not the title of the show,” he added.

Currently, TAPE already followed the ruling of the court, which forbade them to use the Eat Bulaga title.

They decided to change the title of their noontime show to ‘Tahanang Pinakamasaya.’

Motivational Speaker Rendon Labador motivated Jiro Manio, who recently went viral on social media after selling his Gawad Urian Best Actor trophy for only P75,000.

In his post, Rendon said there was no problem if Jiro sold his trophy, saying it would be more important for the former actor to learn from his past mistakes.

“Wala naman halaga ‘yung trophy mo kung wala kang natutunan sa proseso,” said Rendon. “Baguhin mo sarili mo para magkaroon ng halaga ang buhay mo. Ang totoong tagumpay ay wala sa php75k na trophy,”

He also added that Jiro’s situation must become a lesson for Filipino parents to guide their children properly.

According to him, if Jiro had been guided properly, his situation would have been better.

Diego Loyzaga didn’t deny the accusations made by his former partner Alexis Suapengco, who recently posted several claims via her social media page.

In her posts, Alexis said that she was forced to leave Diego’s house together with their child because of another woman.

“So my baby daddy @diegoloyzaga decided to kick me out and his baby out of his house so this girl can come over,” Alexis wrote while tagging Cecile Mendoza.

One of the members of ‘Softdrinks Beauty,’ Coca Nicolas, spoke about the biggest issue faced by her late colleague, Pepsi Paloma.

It can be recalled that Pepsi was involved in one of the biggest issues of the 1980s when she accused Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and Richie D’Horsie of abducting her.

Three years after she revealed the accusations, she was found lifeless in her apartment.

‘Tahanang Pinakamasaya’ host Paolo Contis admitted that he was surprised by the decision made by the Marikina RTC against Television and Production Exponents (TAPE) Incorporated, which formerly handled Eat Bulaga.

It can be recalled that the court ordered TAPE Inc. on December 5 to stop using the Eat Bulaga title following the copyright infringement complaint filed by its original hosts, Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon.

TAPE Inc. was also not allowed to use Eat Bulaga’s jingle nor air any of its past episodes.

On her social media page, Paolo’s manager, Lolit Solis, said that her talent was still absorbing the said decision.

“Parang pressured siya sa nangyayari sa Eat Bulaga dahil nga sa titulo na parang pinag aagawan,” said Lolit. “Malaki ang nagawa ng noontime show kay Paolo Contis. Iyon premium niya as a host parang naging sinlaki ng TVJ. Naging malakas ang energy niya, nagkaruon ng disiplina na gumising ng maaga, at financially very stable siya dahil sa additional income niya,”

“Saka naging mas healthy ang competion ng maging 3 ang noontime program. Now pagalingan sila ng production numbers, inviting of guests, at medyo binabawasan na ang pag absent ng mga main hosts,” she added.

Paolo was known for being vocal on the issue of TVJ vs. TAPE.

Meanwhile, TAPE Inc. planned to appeal the court’s decision.

The mother of Diego Loyzaga’s child finally revealed herself to the public and accused the actor of treating them badly.

In a series of Instagram posts, Alexis Suapengco claimed that she was forced to leave Diego’s house together with their child because of another girl.

“So my baby daddy @diegoloyzaga decided to kick me out and his baby out of his house so this girl can come over,” Alexis wrote while tagging a certain Cecile Mendoza.

She also claimed that Diego warned her that he would not send child support if she didn’t delete her posts.

“@diegoloyzaga said if I don’t take down the post, he won’t provide for my daughter daw. Ok boy bye,” she wrote.

It can be recalled that the showbiz community was surprised after Diego revealed that he had a baby already.

In an interview with Pep.ph, Diego said that he was raising his child together with its mother, but he refused to introduce her to the public.

“She chose talaga to be private,” Diego said. “She has her own thing. She’s not in showbiz.”

“We just want to have a quiet and peaceful life,” he added.

Jiro Manio shared the reason why he decided to sell the Best Actor trophy award he got in the 27th Gawad Urian 2004.

It can be recalled that Jiro won the said award due to his performance in the movie ‘Magnifico.’

Jiro was known for the said award, that’s why many netizens were surprised when he decided to sell the trophy on Jayson Luzadas’ online show Pinoy Pawnstars for only P75,000.

In an interview with the Philippine Entertainment Portal, Jiro said that he was very happy that Jayson bought his trophy, saying that he used it to celebrate the Holidays with his family.

“Yung PHP75,000 po from Pinoy Pawnstars ay ginamit ko pong panggastos namin ng family ko noong Christmas and New Year,” he said.

According to him, he didn’t mind selling the said trophy because he trusted Jayson.

“Hindi naman po ako nahirapan dahil as part of my belongings, ipinagkatiwala ko naman po yon kay Boss Toyo at lahat naman po ay naging sigurado,” he stated.

The former actor also said that he had no choice but to sell the trophy due to his financial standing.

“Siguro dala na rin ng hirap sa buhay, siguro maiintindihan ako ng mga tao na kailangan ko rin, may pangangailangan din ako,” he stated.

Jiro also refused to return to show business for now.

“Hindi na po muna siguro sa acting. Hahanap po muna ako ng trabaho na mas magiging komportable para sa akin. Iba naman po siguro,” he stated.

“As of now, I am happy with my family. Tumutulong po ako sa kanila at nakaka-recover ako from the past, and I’m still praying for my full recovery,” he added.

Jiro’s decision to sell the award to celebrate Christmas and New Year didn’t impress some netizens, saying that it was better for him to use the money in other means instead of splurging it.

Richard Gutierrez and Barbie Imperial became a topic among the netizens after they were reportedly spotted together at a gastropub in Muntinlupa last Saturday.

The photos the Philippine Entertainment Portal shared showed Barbie and Richard talking at the same table during Jenny Quizon’s birthday party.

According to the report, the photos were taken by other customers who were starstrucked by Richard and Barbie.

The source also told Pep.ph that Richard cared for Barbie very well.

“Nanginig ako while wathing it. I had to send it to you I’m so sorry if I did but I just know it’s the right thing to do. Nanginginig ako just by typing this. I sent it to you and didn’t tell your mom about it ha,” the source said.

They even saw Richard accompanying Barbie on her way to the comfort room.

The incident happened amid the separation rumors between Richard and his partner, Sarah Lahbati.
