Filipino basketball fans couldn’t hide their disappointment towards the gesture made by the Cambodian national basketball team’s coach Harry Savaya.

On May 11, Cambodia defeated Gilas Pilipinas in the group phase of the 32nd Southeast Asian Games.

The game became controversial after Savaya called a late timeout even if it was already sure that Cambodia would win the game.

Members of Gilas couldn’t hide their disappointment and confronted Savaya and accused the Lebanese coach of being disrespectful.

Savaya also irked Gilas and basketball fans after doing a ‘night night’ gesture during the game.

However, on May 16, it seems that Reyes got his revenge against Savaya after Gilas Pilipinas took the gold during their final match with Cambodia.

In a video posted by Rueben Terrado, it can be seen that Reyes was also doing the same gesture Savaya did during the first meeting while approaching the Lebanese coach.

However, the two remained calm and shook hands after the incident.

But some netizens also opposed the action made by Reyes.

“Not classy. That’s not an attitude of a champion nor showing sportsmanship. Show them we are better than them by not mocking them esp. coming from a head coach. Hats off Gilas Pilipinas!” netizen Kru said.

Haha,” netizen Jai Galvez said.

After the game, Savaya praised the players of Gilas Pilipinas but not Reyes and even offered to teach a lesson to the Filipino coach.

Cambodia coach Harry Savaya may mensahe kay coach Chot Reyes: “I can teach him, if he wants”

Cambodia’s basketball national team coach Harry Savaya praised Gilas Pilipinas after his team was defeated by the Filipino representatives for the gold medal last Tuesday.

Gilas won the gold medal after leading the game against Cambodia with 80 points compared to the 69 points achieved by the host team.

However, Savaya was disappointed with how Gilas coach Chot Reyes was blaming the weather of Cambodia when they lost during their first match.

He even offered to teach Reyes if the Filipino coach was interested to learn on how things work in Europe.

“The Philippine players, respect for all of them. They played with their hearts [out]. [But] they deserve better than someone to blame them like in the first round,” Savaya said.

“He blamed the weather, he blamed everything, he blamed the players. I don’t do that. I can teach him—if he wants—about coaching. In Europe, everywhere, the places he’s never been,”

It can be recalled that Savaya received criticisms from Filipino basketball fans 5 days ago because of the gestures made by the Lebanese coach during the endgame timeout of the first match between the Philippines and Cambodia.

Even members of Gilas confronted Savaya for his gestures.

“I feel you po. May ganyan po talagang kamag anak. Been there.

It can be recalled that in a rare event, Lee made a post about Pokwang and greeted his former partner during Mother’s Day.

However, Pokwang refused to accept the greeting, calling Lee ‘plastic’ and accused him of using her to promote his movie.

A 17-year-old man went viral on social media after he appealed to the netizens to help him and his two siblings after they were abandoned by their mother.

In a post made by Jen del Mar, she shared the story of Daven, who’s now acting as a father and mother to his five-year-old and one-year-old siblings.

According to Daven, he was forced to work because no one was looking after them anymore after his father was put behind bars because of charges, while their mother suddenly left them in March.

Jen shared the story of the two during Mother’s Day.

“This Mother’s day it’s important for us to acknowledge the pain and suffering of these children, while also recognizing that they have the potential to heal and find happiness in life. We must work together towards a world where every child is loved and cared for, regardless of their circumstances.” Jen said.

The story reached the City of Mandaue City Social Services (CSWS) and helped them to find a temporary shelter.

CSWS personnel would also take care of Daven’s siblings while he was looking for work.

Takot?

Head Writer of Voltes V: Legacy Suzette Doctolero took a swipe against their rival program ABS-CBN’s top-rated show FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.

In a Facebook post, Suzette said that she noticed that while Voltes V and Batang Quiapo has the same timeslot, the ABS-CBN show was trying to make it look like they’re winning the rating competition by delaying the airing of their program.

Some followers of Suzette also noticed the delays in Batang Quiapo’s airing.

Hmmmm.. now i know,” netizen Lenille said.

“Ganuon po talaga ang pag claim dapat ng ratings, same time slot para masabi mo na ang show ay umungos sa katapat niyang show.. ewan ko ba bakit kineclaim na #1 kahit hindi katapat na,” netizen Lulubelle said.

As of writing, the production team of Batang Quiapo has yet to give any response to Suzette’s claims.

“Mgbibigay kunwari pro Ang totoo Ng hihirap Rin Pala. Pwede ba. Mg sikap besh wag paawa effect.

Megastar Sharon Cuneta and journalist Arnold Clavio made a comment on the progress of the charges filed against former Sen. Leila de Lima.

It can be recalled that De Lima gained another victory after the former senator has been acquitted of the second charge filed against her during the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte.

In his ‘Tilamsik ni Igan’ post, Clavio asked if the people who made the story against De Lima could also be charged.

Clavio said.

Meanwhile supporters of De Lima asked the government already to free the former senator because they believed that she would also be acquitted to the remaining charges against her.

Slater Young admits mistake over his statement about women: “Parang nahiya ako”

Pinoy Big Brother big winner and content creator Slater Young expressed regret over the statement he made about women.

It can be remembered that Slater has been canceled on the internet after he said that it’s ‘normal’ for men to fancy other women even if they’re already in a relationship.

He even admitted that he was included to some group chats where photos of women were being posted without consent.

Several days after making the said statement, Slater admitted that he made a wrong move by saying such things.

“Sometimes you think that you did something OK and it takes a little while for it to sink in na, ‘Oo nga no, mali pala talaga ako.” Slater said.

“And I finally realized na, ‘Oh my God, I really made a mistake,’ because I’m giving it power na, to say it’s OK, and me saying it’s normal, kind of normalizes it and makes it OK.

“I should’ve called it out na parang, ‘Ah it happens, but this isn’t ok, we should hold ourselves to a higher standard.’ When sa akin, like, ‘Oh it happens, don’t worry about it.’ ‘Yun ‘yung sinabi ko.

“I know for a fact that I said that. Like nahiya talaga ako,” he added.

Despite his statement, he still received support from his wife, Kryz Uy.

“I know for a fact that I said that. Like nahiya talaga ako,” Kryz said.
