Veteran columnist Cristy Fermin disclosed the alleged investigation launched by Bea Alonzo’s family to know the capabilities of Dominic Roque.

In her online program, Showbiz Now Na! Cristy disclosed the information she received from her source about Dominic’s questionable background.

According to Cristy, Bea’s family found that one of Dominic’s properties was owned by a politician.

The discovery was unusual, prompting Bea’s family to investigate Dominic to ensure that the actress was in safe hands.

“‘Eto ngayon, ayon sa aming source, pinaiimbestigahan po sa pamilya ni Bea Alonzo kung ano ba talaga ang trabaho ni Dominic Roque,” she said.

“Ang sabi, meron siyang business. At nakatira siya sa isang super pangmayaman na condo. ‘Yung mga sikat na artista nga e hindi naglakas loob na tumira doon. 

“Ngayon, kapag tinrace natin bakit nakapangalan doon sa pulitiko ‘yung unit at bakit siya ang boss ni Dominic. Kayo na po ang bahalang humusga kung ano ang nababalitaan niyo tungkol sa pulitiko at sa kanyang mga kaibigan. Kontrobersyal po ‘yung politician. Kilala! Lalo na po nitong mga nakaraang buwan, napakaakontrobersyal” 

As of writing, Dominic has yet to respond to the issue.

Historian Ambeth Ocampo finally met the woman who went viral recently after netizens noticed her resemblance to the mother of the former.

In his Facebook post, Ocampo met with Veronica Balayo, who shared a photo of her beside the portrait of Belen Ocampo at the National Museum.

“We were just casually looking and appreciating all the artworks. Actually [joke joke] ko lang talaga yun na parang ako but after seeing the photo sinabi ko sa officemate ko bakit parang ako?! sabi nila [oo nga] and then yun na nag picture ako together with the photo without even knowing kung sino yun,” she said.

On February 4, Prof. Ambeth shared his meeting with Veronica, a resident of Davao, and shared that the meeting was documented by magazine show Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho.

“Veronica Balayo from Davao visited the National Museum, saw my mother’s photo-oleo, noticer an uncanny resemblance and asked if she was reincarnated. Jessica Soho documented a meet up with my mom’s doppelgänger airing tonight,” he said.

Prof. Ambeth then shared a valuable life tip with Veronica.

“Ang importante talaga na meron kang sarili mong career and that you find the right husband. My mother was career-oriented. Marami siyang pinasok na trabaho. Which I think is what a modern woman is. Independent. With independent income from your husband.” he said.

Julia Barretto addressed the netizens spreading the separation rumors between her and Gerald Anderson.

In an interview with Melai Cantiveros, Julia said she was unaffected by the rumors since they surfaced monthly.

She also took a brighter outlook on the rumors, saying that the rumors meant that no one knew what was happening in her relationship with Gerald.

“Parang ganun ang balita, every month for how many years na talaga. Hindi ko rin alam saan nanggagaling,” said Julia.

“I think I’ll just take it as a compliment. I guess we’re able to create that private bubble of ours na hindi na nila alam masyado kung ano ang nangyayari sa partnership namin,” she added.

Several netizens discussed the listing of properties in the luxurious neighborhood of Forbes Park in Makati City.

In his Facebook post, columnist Victor C. Agustin posted the properties listed on the Dot Property Group, showing 311 houses listed for sale.

The most expensive properties available in Forbes have a price tag of P3.5-B, while the cheapest costs P400-M.

According to the Makati City LGU, 514 households were built along the subdivision, which means that more than half of the properties in Forbes were put on sale.

Netizens couldn’t stop thinking about the reason why most homeowners of Forbes decided to sell their property.

Some even theorized that the rich knew something that normal people didn’t know.

However, some netizens believed that owning a mansion is not really a wise investment nowadays.

“Because mansions (or even just big houses) may no longer be the way affluent Filipinos live in cities any longer. They (excluding me, haha) may now want smaller spaces that are easier to manage, with fewer staff, and in more convenient “central” locations where services can be outsourced,” netizen Eric Florentino said.

Dominic Roque’s brother, Lhean Roque, posted a cryptic post on his social media page amid the separation between the actor and Bea Alonzo.

It can be recalled that both Boy Abunda and Ogie Diaz already confirmed Bea and Dominic’s breakup.

In the said post, Lhean posted an image of a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

It was an idiom from the Bible about individuals who play a deceitful role.

Several netizens linked the said post as Lhein’s reaction to the breakup.

It can be recalled that Bea’s road manager and makeup artist, Ting Duque, also made a cryptic post on Threads about a ‘manipulative sad boi’

“Any guy who’ll try to convince someone that they’re the victim of the situation. They’ll make you believe that you’re in the wrong and that you’re the one who should be feeling guilty. Toying with your mind, they’re seriously just bad news,” the Urban Dictionary definition reads.

Meanwhile, Bea and Dominic have not commented on the issue.

Carla Abellana couldn’t hide her sadness at the reaction of some netizens to the prices of her pre-loved items.

It can be recalled that Carla sold her personal items, including some of the shoes she was using.

However, some netizens made fun of the condition of some of Carla’s pre-loved shoes.

Some netizens said that one of Carla’s shoes sold her items above the suggested retail price despite being used already.

“Nabili nya nang 8.5k pesos tapos ibebenta nang 18k? Partida nang gigitata pa,” netizen itsluih said.

“You bought it for roughly 11k pesos (200sd) but you’re selling it for 18k,” another netizen told Carla.

According to some netizens, the condition of Carla’s items couldn’t justify the prices she indicated.

“Kahit pa branded tapos ganyan quality? ‘Wag na lang nagbebenta kayo tapos ganyan ano tingin niyo sa mga tao? Bumibili ng basura?” netizen @warmhugspup remarked.

However, some fans believed that Carla was only being honest as she didn’t alter the photos of her pre-loved items to make it look brand new.

“May mga items lang na di naayos muna bago picturan, but maybe she is trying to make prospective buyers see the items in their real state or condition. Overall, mas lamang iyong mga items na magaganda pa,” a fan told the critics of Carla.

Meanwhile, Carla made a short reaction to the backlash she received.

“People can be so mean. So mean,” she wrote.

Talent manager and showbiz reporter Ogie Diaz disclosed the rumors between Ivana Alawi and Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez.

In his online program, “Ogie Diaz Showbiz Update,” the talent manager said that Ivana and Albee were spotted having a vacation together in Japan.

Aside from being a public servant, Benitez was also known as one of the giants in the showbiz industry.

“Si Benitez ay may-ari ng Brightlight Productions na nag-produce ng shows gaya ng “Tropang LOL,” “Sunday Noontime Live,” Ogie shared.

However, Ogie said that Ivana was the only one capable of clarifying the issue.

“Mahirap namang husgahan natin si Ivana, so dapat si Ivana rin ang sumagot niyan, kung paano niya lilinawin ‘yan, ano… kung siya nga ‘yong tinutukoy. Kung hindi naman siya, please disregard previous message,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Entertainment Portal asked Benitez about the issue, but he refused to give an exact answer about his status with the actress.

Benitez only said that there was nothing wrong with him having a relationship since he had already separated from his wife, Nikki Benitez.

Mrs. Benitez said she would handle personal matters privately for now and denied that she didn’t discuss her husband’s legal separation from her.

It can be recalled that Ivana was also linked to another public servant, Dan Fernandez.

Several netizens and showbiz reporters explored the possible cause of the rumored postponement of Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque’s wedding.

Some netizens believed that Bea, who’s one of the richest celebrities right now, wanted to protect her properties by making a prenuptial agreement between her and Dominic.

Prenuptial is an agreement between two people before marrying each other to ensure that they would not share their wealth if ever they decided to part ways.

Online news website, Bandera compiled some of the comments made by netizens about the said rumors.

“Break na Could it be related to ´pre-nuptial agreements’? Bka hindi ngkasundo,” a netizen said.

“Maingat si Bea sa pagpili milyonarya na yan…maigi na siguro kung hndi pa natuloy ang kasal kaysa nmn mag hiwalay agad after wedding may rights na si lalaki sa yaman nya kapag ganun,” another netizen said.

It can be recalled that television host Kris Aquino became one of the example of the importance of prenup agreement after her disastrous separation with basketball player James Yap.

It was reported that Kris paid millions of pesos to her former partner to prevent the latter from getting half of the television host’s assets.

However, Kris clarified that the settlement between them was fair.
