Teacher possible face suspension for calling out students during livestream

A teacher may face suspension after she criticizes her students while doing livestreaming.

In the said video, the teacher, who’s using an alias SerendipityLover was seen shouting at her students and reminding them about boundaries.

She even said that she was not being paid to be commanded by her students.

“Hindi ako nandito para gawin ninyong tau-tauhan ang gawin niyong robot at gawin niyong katatawanan sa harapan,” said the teacher while recording herself on camera.

Several netizens criticized the teacher for dispiriting her students.

“Instead of lifting their spirits and inspiring them, you are demotivating them by instilling to them na wala silang kwenta,” netizen Bam said.

“Inggrato; ugaling squatter” yeah we really have students like such, but that is why they are in the classroom, that is why their parents entrusted their children to you, for you to be a good example and to enlighten their children to be more and be the best that they can be,” he added.

The Department of Education (DepEd) implemented the Child Protection Policy or DepEd Order No. 40, s. 2012 to prevent any teachers from treating their students badly.

Because the said order was still in effect the teacher may be subjected to administrative proceedings for doing the said act to her students.

The Department of Interior and Local Government would launch an investigation against the officials of Bohol Province after discovering resorts built around the iconic Chocolate Hills.

According to Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos, the officials may become responsible for allowing illegal structures to be built around the vicinity of the UNESCO Heritage Site.

“Under our Local Government Code, they have the mandate to enhance the right of the people to a balanced ecology. If illegal construction was allowed within a protected area, this would fall gravely short of this responsibility. We commit to working with the DENR (Department of Environment and Natural Resources) toward any resolution they deem just on this matter,” said Abalos.

Meanwhile, Bohol Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado said they’re already trying to resolve the issue.

It can be recalled that Bohol’s tourism went viral again on social media due to the criticism after several resorts were spotted in Chocolate Hills.

Captain’s Peak, Sagbayan Peak, and Bud Acta were the identified resorts built around the area, which were supposed to be protected by the law.

In 2022, Bohol also went viral on social media after one of its popular tourist spots, the Virgin Island in Panglao became populated by stalls selling expensive food.

Actress Bea Alonzo was reportedly facing criticism from her own staff, veteran columnist Cristy Fermin revealed.

In her online program, Cristy disclosed the complaint made by the girlfriend of Bea’s driver due to bad treatment.

Cristy also said that Bea allegedly obligated her driver to shoulder the repair cost for her car.

As of writing, Bea has yet to give any response to the claims made by Cristy.

Veteran columnist Cristy Fermin admitted that Sarah Lahbati’s mother, Esther Lahbati, filed charges against her and her co-hosts, Rommel Chika, and Wendell Alvarez.

In her program, Showbiz Now Na, Cristy revealed that they’re the reason why Mrs. Lahbati visited the office of the Department of Justice.

However, instead of criticizing Mrs. Lahbati, Cristy couldn’t stop but praise the actress’ mother for being considerate during their meeting.

While Cristy didn’t disclose the exact reason for the charges against her, people speculated that it was related to her statements regarding the rumored separation between Richard Gutierrez and Sarah.

“Sa pinakamahabang panahon po, mula nung lumabas yung balita ng paghiwalay nina Richard Gutierrez at Sarah Lahbati, walang sinuman sa kanilang dalawa na kumukumpirma sa kuwento,” she said.

“Ang tagal! Hanggang sa isang araw ay nagsalita si Sarah na, ‘I am single,” she added.

Cristy believed that no one between the two camps could declare that they were single.

Yung annulment. Wala pa po yun. Kaya kumbaga, sa kanilang dalawa, walang may karapatan na magsabing ‘I am single,” she stated.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Lahbati has yet to give any statement on the charges she filed against Cristy.

The management of the controversial Captain’s Peak in Bohol demanded fairness on the possible investigation they might face for building an infrastructure around the iconic Chocolate Hills.

In an interview, Captain’s Peak manager, Julieta Sablas said that other resorts built around Chocolate Hills could be considered worse than their resort.

“Meron pa pong maglala dito,” Sablas said.

Sablas might be referring to Sagbayan Peak in Sagbayan Town and Bud Agta in Carmen Town, who, according to her, were older than Captain’s Peak.

“When you are ordinary people in this business parang pinapahirapan po nila kami na mag-comply ng certificates po,” she stated.

Meanwhile, Senator Nancy Binay called for an inquiry on the current issue, saying that she would also call the representatives of Sagbayan Peak and Bud Agta and not just Captain’s Peak.

“It was reported that during the inspection conducted by the provincial board, it was found that Captain’s Peak Garden and Resort built cottages and water slides for a swimming pool at the foot or sides of at least three hills and that PAMB failed to full explain why it allowed the resort to use at least 20 percent portion of the Chocolate Hills,” she said.

The driver of the vehicle who had a collision with a motorcycle on Skyway reportedly refused to drive again after the incident that CCTV captured.

In a Facebook post, netizen Arjanman Rebeta claimed that he knew the driver personally and criticized how the driver was put behind bars despite not doing anything illegally during the incident.

Sana, mabago ang ganitong batas,” he said.

It can be recalled that the Quezon City Prosecution Office filed a case against the driver and stayed under the custody of the authorities for several days.

He was only released on March 13 after the prosecutor cleared him from the charges.

The PNP-Highway Patrol Group also explained that they were obligated to file a case automatically against the driver as there was a loss of life during the incident.

They also said that the decision of the motorcycle rider’s family not to pursue a case also became a basis for why the prosecutor didn’t push the case.

According to the reports, the motorcycle rider entered the Skyway Stage 3 despite being prohibited.

He was also not wearing a helmet, overspeeding, and driving in the opposite lane.

The local government of Sagbayan, Bohol, on Thursday, denied that they were aware of the closure order imposed by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources against the controversial resort that was built around the vicinity of the iconic Chocolate Hills.

In a Facebook post, Sagbayan Office of the Mayor executive secretary Felito Pon said that they allowed the operation of Captain’s Peak Resort as they didn’t receive any copy of the said closure order from DENR.

A TRO has already been imposed against Captain’s Peak since last year.

It can be recalled that last year, local news outlet The Freeman tried to talk to the officials of Sagbayan to inquire about the said resort, but they refused to grant any interview.

The resort was now receiving criticism for building an establishment in a UNESCO Heritage Site.

Meanwhile, the resort’s management insisted that they followed the proper process and passed every requirement the government asked of them.
