Jake Zyrus went viral on social media, not because of his performance in singing, but because of some netizens who compared him to a late actor.

In some comments on Facebook, a trend about Jake being compared to Berting Labra had been observed.

“Kung pogi yan baka 99% wala ng pangit, kalokalike nga ni Berting Labra yan at sa bagay gwapo din naman si Berting,” a netizen said.

“Ang gwapo pala ni berting nong kabataan nya. Ngayon naniniwala nako sa reincarnation,” netizen Cjhay commented.

Berting was a former child star who became active in showbusiness from 1945 until 2009 and was discovered by the King of Filipino Films, Fernando Poe Jr.

He was also dubbed as the Mickey Rooney and Bobby Breen of the Philippines.

The late actor also won two FAMAS awards, one for Best Actor in his movie, “Ano ba Choy?” in 1962 and Best Support Actor for his film “Lumuluhang Komiko” in 1964.

Meanwhile, some netizens couldn’t stop themselves from expressing regret about the decisions made by Jake, who was popularly known before as Charice Pempengco.

Actress Yasmien Kurdi said she believed in the so-called eclipse curse.

In her Facebook post, Yasmien said she followed all the procedures in preparation for the eclipse last April 8, 2024.

Internet celebrity and Entrepreneur Deo Jarito Balbuena, the man behind the popular ‘Diwata Pares Overload’ street food went viral on social media after representatives from Pasay City Business Permit and Licensing Office visited his stall and informed him about the closure order against his establishment.

The tense meeting between Balbuena and employees of Pasay City LGU was captured by a vlogger who visited Diwata’s Pares on April 3, 2024.

Balbuena could be seen explaining his side to the officials and asking for fairness, saying that he followed all the requirements given to him by Pasay LGU.

In another video, Balbuena expressed his disappointment on why he was the one being targeted by Pasay officials.

Legendary Filipino rapper Andrew E went viral on social media after a netizen claimed that the audience was not delighted by his performance.

In the said video, Andrew was spotted performing at the Aurora Music Festival where most of the attendees are Gen Z.

Some of the attendees in the video chose to sit instead of showing excitement about the classics performed by Andrew.

Vice Ganda went viral again on social media during the Wednesday episode of It’s Showtime after he teased Kyline Alcantara and Darren Espanto during the show.

During the show, It’s Showtime host Kim Chiu mentioned Darren who was watching Kyline’s performance.

A vlogger may face charges after his video while touching endangered Tarsier went viral on social media.

In the said video, the South Cotabato-based vlogger, who was identified as ‘Farm Boy,’ recorded himself while catching two Tarsiers, which are considered one of the protected species in the Philippines.

“Akin ang isang to,” the vlogger told his cameraman.

“Smile. Baby…” he said.

Farm Boy was visibly holding the Tarsier tightly, which according to some experts, caused stress to the animal.

He also claimed that he would ‘rescue’ the Tarsiers and would set them free once they were fed enough.

After the video went viral, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) visited Farm Boy’s house to recover the Tarsiers.

“This is to inform the public that the DENR-12 monitoring and enforcement team received a report on Monday, April 8th, about a video of improper treatment of Philippine Tarsiers. The video was posted on social media by a vlogger known as ‘Farm Boy’ from Polomolok, South Cotabato,” DENR Region 12 wrote.

“The Department has already conducted an investigation into the matter and discovered that the two tarsiers featured in the video were released into the wild by the vlogger. However, the agency is still looking for further actions to be taken on the wildlife incident. Thank you,” they added.

Catching wildlife species, both flora and fauna from the wild without a permit is against RA 9147 or “The Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act.”

Eat Bulaga was reportedly facing one of its first major challenges since leaving Television and Production Exponents Incorporated (TAPE Inc.) and GMA Network.

According to a report published by Kapatid Insider, TVJ Productions, the current management of Eat Bulaga owned by Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon, was allegedly facing financial problems due to its ballooning budget.

It also added that the noontime show reportedly lowered its advertisement rate in the first week of April in preparation for It’s Showtime’s airing on GMA Network.

Kapatid Insider said that a meeting between TVJ Productions and TV5’s MediaQuest Holding was set to happen this week to find a solution to the problem.

Joey was also mentioned in the said report, saying that he was already complaining on the increasing budget of their show.

It can be recalled that a page on X disclosed the same rumor about the emergency meeting.

However, even if true, experts told Eat Bulaga fans not to worry as MediaQuest’s owner, Manny V. Pangilinan was known to hold its investment even if it was losing money until it became profitable.

As evidence, Eat Bulaga was set to transfer to a bigger venue that could accommodate 1,000 people.
