Veteran actress Carmi Martin revealed that reason why she decided not to build a family, which could be attributed to her past decisions.
In an interview with Ogie Diaz, Carmi revealed that she had many suitors in the past, but she couldn’t choose among them due to her picky personality.
“Ang dami kasing nanligaw sakin, [pero] ‘yung may mapuna lang ako na konti talagang turn-off na ko,” she said.
She also said that all of her past boyfriends were non-showbiz personalities.
Her parents’ rejection to all of ex-boyfriends also added to her problem.
Carmi then decided to just stay single after her last relationship ended.
“Naging advocacy ko ngayon na alam mo, ‘It’s cool to be single’ and you know, maganda ka parin, inaalagaan mo ‘yung katawan mo, you can do a lot of things,” she stated.
When asked if she was still open to accept suitors, Carmi declared that the door of her heart was closed already.
To fulfill her missed opportunity to experience motherhood, Carmi decided to become a furmum and treated her pets as her own children.
It can be recalled that one of the closest friend of Carmi, Roderick Paulate admitted that he slipped into the idea of courting the veteran actress, but he decided not to pursue it.
“Kasi nung panahon namin nakita ko ‘yung nakaaligid, mga mestiso eh. Ako naman magaling naman makiramdam. Parang sa nakita ko parang hindi ata ako puwede pumasok diyan. Realistic. Alam ko naman kung saan ako pupwesto,” he said.
Social media personality and entrepreneur Rosmar Tan received criticism on the internet after she started challenging her followers to ink her face on their skin.
In her Facebook post, Rosmar offered a P50,000 reward to people who could perform her challenge.
However, when the entries started to come out, Rosmar started to receive criticism on social media.
They also asked what would happen to the other participants who were unfortunate enough not to win P50,000.
“Di nga po sapilitan pero sa dami po ng mga nangangailangan e talagang kakagatin po ‘yang hamon nyo. Tas hindi sila mapili, kawawa naman,” a netizen said. “Tas ‘yung tats nila panghabambuhay na. Wag naman po sana natin paglaruan ang kahirapan ng kapwa natin para lang maging masaya tayo,”
As a response, Rosmar said that she didn’t force anyone to do her challenge.
“Gusto ko lang naman ipakita na naaappreciate ko mga tao na grabe sumuporta kaya naisipan ko mamigay 50kyaw,” said Rosmar.
She even said that even before her challenge, some people had already inked her face on their skin as a sign of admiration for the entrepreneur.
Rosmar also hinted that even the other participants would be rewarded for their efforts.
A netizen showed how some Parish Church prevented future husbands and wives from being late on their wedding day.
In a Facebook post, a netizen published the memorandum of agreement prepared by St. Nicholas of Tolentino Parish in the municipality of Bais for couples who wanted to marry at their church.
In the said MOA, the couple was informed about the possible consequences if they arrived late at their wedding ceremony schedule.
If the couple were late for 15 minutes, they would not allow the marching of the bridal entourage; if they were late by 30 minutes, there would be no more bridal procession and songs during the mass; and if the couple arrived 45 minutes late, the priest would be forced only to perform marriage rites.
It can be recalled that a wedding in Amlan went viral on social media after a couple complained about how the priest started the wedding mass without waiting for the bride to reach the altar.
In their defense, the parish said that the couple arrived an hour late during the wedding, which prompted them to rush the ceremony.
It was found that the cause of the miscommunication between the Parish and the couple was the information relied on by one of the bride and groom’s godmothers, who said that their wedding had been rescheduled.
However, the Parish clarified that they didn’t reschedule the wedding and the said Godmother didn’t double-check the information.
Footage taken during an event attended by President Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Marcos, Senate President Chiz Escudero, and other VIPs went viral on social media due to an unusual incident.
The event, called Vin d’Honneur, was held every Independence Day and was usually attended by public officials and VIPs.
The video showed Liza walking toward other guests to greet them when she saw the champagne glass being held by Escudero and took it.
The first lady could be seen taking a sip of Escudero’s drink when staff informed Marcos about her own champagne glass.
She then returned the glass to Escudero, who was visibly dazed by the incident.
In a statement, Escudero said that he was only trying to be a gentleman during his interaction with the first lady.
“Maaaring sabihin ng iba na maka-luma o parang ‘under’ pero para sakin, hindi kailanman magiging maka-luma o di uso, ano man ang itawag ng iba, ang pagiging maginoo at pakikipag-kapwa tao,” he said.
“Hindi minamasama ang anumang pagkakataon na maging at magpaka-maginoo sa sinumang ginang o binibini…” he added.
Despite his explanation, many netizens believed that FL’s gesture cheapened Escudero’s position as one of the top public officials in the country.
The “Godmother,” who is believed to be the cause of the miscommunication between a couple and a parish in the municipality of Amlan, appealed to the netizens to stop criticizing the wrong people.
It can be recalled that the said Godmother was the one who informed the couple Janine and Jove Deo Sagario that their wedding was rescheduled, even though the Church pushed to its original schedule.
In an interview with Anthony Maginsay, Charlene Sunico admitted that she didn’t double-check the information she received from her churchmate a day before the wedding.
“Kasi ako ang klase ng tao na inaako ang mga kasalanan at ayaw kong i-burden ang iba,” she said.
“Humihingi ako ng tawad sa mga bisita at nakikiusap ako na kung puwede sana wag na mag-post ng kung ano-ano, especially sa mga kaparian kasi wala namang kasalanan yung mga pari, yung mga taga-kumbento,” she added.
Sunico believed she was the only individual who should be blamed, not the parish officials.
“Wala ring mga kasalanan yung mga secretary, wala silang kasalanan lahat. Ako lang talaga ang may kasalanan,” she stated.
It can be recalled that the St. Andrew Parish said that they didn’t change the schedule of the wedding and Sunico relied the information to the couple without verifying it.
EXpecially For You, searchee Axel Cruz posted a cryptic message on his Facebook page about forgiving someone even without receiving any apology from the person.
In his post, Axel shared a quote with the texts: “Magpatawad kahit walang narinig na “sorry”, “patawad”, “pasensya kana” dahil sa bandang huli ang malayang puso ang totoong sasaya,”
Netizens interpreted Axel’s post as his decision to move on to the issue involving him, Vice Ganda, as well as another participant of EXpecially For You, Christine.
It can be recalled that Vice refused to apologize to Axel after he called out the searchee due to his alleged inappropriate gesture towards Christine.
Axel already explained that he didn’t mean to kiss Christine, and the latter also supported the statement made by the searchee.
However, Vice still insisted that Axel’s gestures were not proper.
“Binabawi ko yung twineet ko na I will say an apology because I do not need to apologize for what I did. Ito ang aking paniniwala, at paniniwala din namin na hindi kinakailangang mag-apologize because what we did was right,” Vice stated.
“Nirerespeto namin ang dahilan ni Christine kung bakit sinabi niya yon, na hindi siya na-off when, in reality, na-off talaga siya. At since na-off si Christine, naniniwala ako na hindi mali na kinolout namin si Axel dahil karapatan ng isang babae na tumanggi o umalma kung para sa kanya, sa pakiwari niya ay hindi siya kumportable sa ikikilos ng sinuman sa harapan niya,” he added.
The complaint published by Filipino designer Jef Albea on social media had a mass reach after he claimed that the Miss Universe Philippines organization didn’t pay him a single cent for designing the trophies used for this year’s pageant.
In his post, Albea said that the organization “refused” to pay him despite his decision to prioritize the project and decline additional projects.
“MISS UNIVERSE vanished into thin air. They refused to pay me for the trophies I designed and crafted for the coronation night. All the effort, dedication and passion I put in creating these pieces, ended up ignored and disregarded when payment was due,” Albea said.
“I do not need nor will I accept a single centavo from the organization anymore. What I need now is for them to learn that ARTISTS DESERVE RESPECT. We pour our hearts and souls into our creations. Our ideas don’t just appear from thin air just to work for an xdeal. They are the result of intense thought, deep emotions, and sleepless nights. Not to mention, opportunities missed, money and years spent honing our craft,” he added.
However, the production head of Miss Universe Philippines, Borg Roxas, explained why Albea has yet to receive payment for his services.
According to Roxas, an event like Miss Universe Philippines was massive, so they were required to document all the expenses for the event, including Albea’s payment.
“During the MUPh finals, magulo na lahat sa backstage. I admit na kausap namin si Sir Jef. Pero on the day of the finals pinadala yung mga artwork, and on that day din namin nalaman through his asst na need magbayad ng 75,000 pesos,” Roxas wrote.
“Magulo na lahat backstage and wala naman may hawak ng cash. So sinabi namin na kailangan proper documentation like billing etc.
“Kausap din nila ang staff namin even until yesterday June 12 na inaayos lang for billing kasi ang daming suppliers sa production from artists to technicals etc.
“Lahat ng suppliers nagpapadala ng billing statement at invoice prior to May 22 para aligned na lahat. Nauuna nabayaran yung nagpapadala agad kasi may paperwork.
“With Sir Jef, aside from we are paying him, we are also promoting him. We never promoted any other suppliers kasi natuwa kami na he was willing to help elevate the gifts for the winners.
“Nakakalungkot lang na nagpopost na agad sya na magkausap naman sila ng staff. Hindi sya nakasama sa May 30 cut off kasi walang papers. Kaya sa June 15 cut off sya nakasama kasi magkausap sila ng staff,”
He set the record straight that the Miss Universe Philippines organization didn’t escape their responsibility to pay the artists like Albea.
“Again, hindi ang MUPh ang nagkamali dito. Sa production side, kailangan namin idefend sa management kahit walang billing or invoice. Nag yes naman agad management sa amin. Pero sa usual na may billing and proper documentation lang para pag dating sa filing ng taxes, madefend namin ang expenses. Lahat naman mababayaran,” he stated.
Despite Kim Chiu’s plea to Xian Lim, the latter continued to talk about his past relationship with the Kapamilya actress.
In an interview with Boy Abunda, Xian revealed that he had not talked to Kim since their breakup last year.
However, he clarified that their breakup was peaceful.
“Kasi Tito Boy, to be completely honest ever since we went our separate ways, jindi pa po kami nakakapag-usap. But we of course, when that night happened, maayos ‘yung pag-uusap namin. Of course, mayroong iyakan but there was that assurance na we went through 12 years of our existence, it has that respect,” said Xian.
He also insisted that he was not the one who decided to end their relationship.
“To be completely honest I wasn’t the one engaged in the separation, ‘yun lang po siya, it’s that simple. I know they’re saying na….” he stated.
“I wasn’t the one who initiated the breakup,” he added.
Xian was also proud that their record was clean during their 12-year relationship.
“Nag-usap kami privately. Hindi na kailangan himayin kung sino ang nag-kulang. I think the length speaks for itself, and ‘yung pambabatikos sa akin ng karamihan, I think they should look at it from us … For more than a decade, I never had any … My record is clean, and I am proud of that,” he stated.
It can be recalled that Kim already asked Xian to stop talking about their past as she wanted to maintain their respect for each other.
Miss Universe Philippines is in hot water after a Filipino designer revealed that he was not paid by the organization for the trophies he designed for this year’s pageant.
In a Facebook post, Jef Albea said that the organization “refused” to pay him for the efforts he made for the pageant.
He then declared that he would not accept any payments from MUPH and only ask them to learn how to respect the craft of being an artist.
According to him, he prioritized his project with MUPH and wasted many opportunities so he could complete his task.
Content creator and entrepreneur Jayson “Boss Toyo” Luzadas earned a big profit for selling the pot he bought to internet sensation Diwata.
In the video he shared, Boss Toyo could be shown leading the bidding on the first pot used by Diwata in his Paresan business.
The entrepreneur bought the pot for P3,000 but sold it to the bidder for more than P50,000.
It can be recalled that Boss Toyo initially planned to put Diwata’s cooking pot in his museum and immortalize it as a reminder to the future generations.
“Yung buhay niya galing sa hirap, umangat ‘yung buhay. Yun ang ginagawa ni Pinoy Pawnstars, ang maipaalala sa lahat ng henerasyon at mananatili tayong institusyon,” he stated in the past episode of Pinoy Pawnstar.
He apologized to Diwata for his decision to resell the pot in exchange for a big profit.
“I’m very very sorry Diwata pero sayang ang 50k,” said Boss Toyo.
Boss Toyo also said that Diwata was planning to sell more items to him.
