Several netizens couldn’t hide their dismay over the statements of Liza Soberano, who’s now calling herself ‘Hope.’
It can be recalled that Hope went viral on social media after she released her 14-minute video telling how her life became too restrictive in exchange for the popularity she gained in the Philippines as an actress.
She complained that in her career as an actress in the country, she was only paired with one actor, Enrique Gil, and the people surrounding her didn’t even ask about her ideas.
Some netizens even thought Hope was trying to swipe against her former talent manager, Ogie Diaz, who became an instrument to gain her stardom.
“I’ve sacrificed myself, I’ve sacrificed my freedom, I’ve sacrificed my happiness to present Liza Soberano to the world, and I think I’ve earned the right to finally be me,” she said.
In some comments on social media, netizens called Hope ‘ungrateful’ for her statements against the people who made her life comfortable.
Some netizens also remembered the statement by Liza three years ago that was not contradicting her current account.
“She’s becoming UnGrateful and Carelesss. Iba din kasi talaga pag galing sa hirap. Yung experiences and strive to do better on the choosen craft. Oh well. Let it be. “Sabi nga ni Boss Gabby ARTISTS COME ON GO BUT THE INSTITUTION REMAINS. In short ABS is still ABS without these UNGRATEFUL actors dali mong palitan gurl di ka kawalan but for sure ABS is a big loss for you @lizasoberano,” netizen loveandres commented.
“Sana lang makamit din ni Hope ang kasikatang tinamo ni Liza. Baka ang ending magaya siya kay Jake na tinalikuran si Charice,” netizen lrntblpz remarked.
