Kapamilya journalist Karen Davila was set to appear on TV5, almost a month after the House of Representatives rejected the franchise application of ABS-CBN.
According to columnist Jun Lalin, Davila is going to appear at the pilot telecast of TV5 show ‘Usapang Real Life’ with Luchi Cruz-Valdez.
News reports said that ABS-CBN’s News & Current Affairs head Ging Reyes allowed Davila to appear on TV5 because the former personally knows Cruz-Valdez.
It was reported that Davila already had her taping at the TV5 journalist’s home.
Davila was also rumored to instead of Cruz-Valdez, Davila was going to take over and interview the host instead.
They’re set to talk about their personal experiences about the personal and professional lives.
Aside from Davila, other Kapamilya celebrities were also reportedly set to appear in TV5.
Despite the appearance of Davila, it’s not yet known if the Kapamilya journalist would choose to transfer to TV5 just in case that she would face the same fate as his colleague Ces Drilon who just recently became part of ABS-CBN layoff.
Davila is one of the most vocal defenders of ABS-CBN.
The Kapamilya journalist even criticized President Rodrigo Duterte’s fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA) after the latter openly criticized ABS-CBN and its owners in his speech.
“No senator or private company deserves to be mentioned at the opening of the President’s SONA. This is about the state of the country, where we are, where we are going, not about personal vendettas or feelings. People are hungry and jobless. People are looking for inspiration,” said Davila.
