Mini Zoo sa Masbate na umano’y nagpapakain ng pusa sa mga ahas, ipinasara

The authorities permanently closed a mini zoo in Masbate after they went viral for using stray cats as food for their snakes.

A zoo visitor recorded the video, which showed the visibly frail cat waiting, sitting beside the snake inside one of the establishment’s enclosures.

On June 19, 2024, the City Veterinarian Office of Masbate permanently closed the mini zoo and announced that they would launch an investigation to know how they were allowed to operate.

“The following day, which is today, June 19, 2024, the City Veterinarian Office and staff from Business Permit Licensing Office had a discussion with the zoo’s owner. After a thorough assessment and collaboration with concerned agencies, a decision was made to permanently close the zoo and turnover all animals to the appropriate authorities,” the statement read.

“In response, the City Government of Masbate pledged to enforce stricter regulations and conduct regular inspections to ensure that all facilities not only the animal ones meet high care standards. This effort aims to prevent similar incidents and foster a culture of compassion and responsibility towards all living creatures,” it added.

Netizens believed that the mini zoo was doing the said illegal acts for a long time to save money for their operation.

Meanwhile, the zoo’s caretaker claimed that the cat escaped the cage, but he couldn’t present any evidence to prove it.

Liza Marcos, napupusuan ng ilang netizen na pumalit kay Sara Duterte bilang kalihim ng DepEd

First Lady Liza Marcos was being pushed by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr supporters to replace Sara Duterte as the secretary of the Department of Education (DepEd).

Just hours after Duterte announced her resignation, some netizens were already eyeing for the first lady to replace the Vice President due to her qualifications as a lawyer and professor.

The first lady finished her law studies at the Ateneo de Manila University and became a law professor at different universities.

A netizen even argued that PBBM’s father had already done the same thing in the past by appointing former first lady Imelda Marcos as part of his cabinet.

“Marcos Sr appointed his wife First Lady Imelda R Marcos as Minister of Human Settlements with a rank of a cabinet secretary. Why are people saying Marcos Jr. can’t appoint his wife Thirst Lady Liza Araneta Marcos as DepEd Secretaty. He should do it!” netizen Zamael Sandoval said.

“I nominate Atty. Liza A. Marcos as DepEd Secretary,” netizen Gabriel stated.

It can be recalled that FL Marcos openly criticized VP Duterte in an interview due to the criticism made by the latter’s father against PBBM.

As of this writing, PBBM has yet to respond to whether he was considering his wife to replace VP Duterte.

Ellen Adarna, may bwelta sa netizen na sinabing si John Lloyd Cruz ang dapat kasama ni Elias sa moving up ceremony

Ellen Adarna was not happy with the netizen who said that John Lloyd Cruz must be included in the moving-up photo of her son, Elias.

On June 17, 2024, Ellen shared a photo of Elias’ moving-up ceremony, at which her current partner, Derek Ramsay, was also present.

“The only decent moving up photo,” Ellen wrote.

However, a netizen said that John Lloyd should have been in the place of Derek during the ceremony.

“JL should be present,” the netizen commented.

In response, Ellen said that John Lloyd’s absence during the moving-up ceremony doesn’t mean he was a neglectful father.

“AND YOU SHOULD MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS. just because he’s not in the photo isn’t mean he was not there. Wag masyadong close minded manang. Present father naman cya meaning present din cya sa lahat ng milestones ng anak nya,” she said.

The netizen also received criticism from Ellen’s fans, who asked her to be sensitive with her comments.

Ellen and John Lloyd confirmed their breakup in 2020.

The former couple was currently in a co-parenting setup where John Lloyd was allowed to be with Elias once or twice a week.

When asked why they decided to end their relationship, Ellen only said she was incompatible with John Lloyd.

Derek acted as Elias’s father, a gesture that received praise from John Lloyd.

“Sabi sa akin ni John Lloyd, ‘Maganda rin na nandoon si Derek. Kasi naiintindihan ako ni Derek bilang tatay din siya. Ang ganda din ng ginagawa ni Derek para sa anak ko. Four years old pa lang iyan parang mature na,’” talent manager Ogie Diaz when asked about John Lloyd’s opinion to Derek.
