Malacañang and Davao City employees receive P50,000 bonus from the Dutertes

Employees of Malacañang Palace and Davao City Hall would celebrate a good Christmas this year after President Rodrigo Duterte and Mayor Inday Sara Duterte gave P50,000 bonus to their staffs.

The President decided to raise the bonus of Malacañang employees after he was got informed that his daughter, Inday Sara gives a higher premium to Davao City hall employees.

Initially, Duterte said that Palace employees will only receive P40,000 bonus, but he changed his mind after he realized that Davao City Hall staff received a higher bonus.

“P30k papunta ng P40k ‘yan. Wow, huwag niyo akong kalimutan ah, maski ballpen na lang. Okay na ‘yan o kulang pa?”

He announced the good news during the Christmas tree lighting ceremony held in the Palace grounds.

“Sabi ni Inday bakit naman kayo, Maynila, National Capital (Region) P40k, ang bigay doon sa Davao P50k,” he said.

“So, hindi tayo magpalugi sa Davao. Sabi ko wala akong pakialam magnakaw ka na, dispakulhin mo ‘yang pera basta gawain mong P50k. It’s gonna be P50k. Okay na ‘yan,” Duterte added.

The President announced it several days after Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno said that employees working for government agencies generated savings will receive a cash incentive of not exceeding P25,000.

Doctor slams Satur Ocampo for using Indigenous People for own gains: “Ginagamit niyo ang mga Lumad para sa inyong propaganda!”

A doctor who works at the Ministry of Heath in Oman criticized former Bayan Muna party-list Rep. Satur Ocampo and ACT-Teachers party-list France Castro for trying to convince the people that they’re helping the Lumad people without any conditions.

In her post, Rolaiza Mimi Singayao wrote an open letter to Ocampo and Castro, questioning why the two known activists are treating the Indigenous people (IP) as toys that they can use for their propaganda.

She questioned the reasoning of the left leaders, saying that why the group of Ocampo didn’t inform the tribal leaders and the parents of the minor lumads that they’re trying to transport outside Davao Del Norte.

According to Singayao, if Ocampo really wanted to help the minor lumad, they should inform the government first and coordinate with them before doing their mission.

You can read her whole post below:

“ANONG MISYON?

Saan ninyo sila dadalhin, Satur? May permiso ba ang komunidad , magulang o guardians? Pakita kayo ng signed waiver ng mga parents allowing you to take out their children from the school.

Informed at may DepEd representative ba?

Several days ago, Ocampo and Castro have been arrested by the authorities for ‘illegally transporting’ minors without the consent of their parents and tribe leaders.

Even some tribal leaders expressed their disappointment to the camp of Ocampo, saying that they should inform the tribe first before transporting their members in other places.

IP leader confronts the camp of Satur Ocampo for kidnapping Lumad children: “Tuwing papasok kayo dito may giyera!”

Yesterday, former Bayan Muna Rep. Satur Ocampo and ACT-Teachers Partylist Rep. France Castro were detained by the authorities after they were spotted transporting several Lumad youths.

According to them, they were blocked by the members of Armed Forces of the Philippines and brought to the nearest police station.

They claimed that the cops illegally detained them as they admitted that they’re still searching for a case that can be filed against the camp of Ocampo.

Ocampo said that they only went to Sitio Igang, Barangay Palma Gil in Davao Del Norte to help the children who allegedly being persecuted and claimed that the military forcefully closed a Salugpungan learning center in the said place.

However, some indigenous Leaders belied the statement of Ocampo’s camp, saying that the Tribal heads requested the said learning centers to be closed because it was allegedly being used by CPP-NDF-NPA to brainwash young Lumads to fight against the government.

A video posted by Hukbo.com showing Datu Andigao Agay and Municipal Executive Tribal Chieftain Bae Pilar Libayao confronting the group of Ocampo.

They complained why the group of Ocampo brought the children along with them without the permission of the tribe, even they see nothing wrong with the situation during that day.

“Hindi man sila inano doon, bakit kunin ng hating gabi, anong problema? May giyera bang nangyari sa bundok?” Libayao told the group of Ocampo.

Datu Agay also told the activists not the transport the children along with them.

He said that the Lumad child already told him that they don’t really want to go to Salugpungan anymore.

“Kung bisaya man ang guro ninyo, yon lang ang dahil niyon yung mga bata iwan ninyo, dahil may sinabi na sila doon sa silaban na ayaw na nila sa school ninyo,” Agay told Ocampo’s group.

“Isipin niyo ma’am estudyante namin pinap*tay ninyo, mga datu pinap*tay ninyo, maraming datu na pin*tay ninyo, tuwing papasok kayo dito may giyera,”

In another interview, Agay also urged the public not to believe in the claims of Ocampo saying that the activists really tried to kidnap the Lumad children.

He also explained why they don’t really want the Lumad children to study at Salugpungan.

“Naintindihan ko na hindi pala mabuti ang ginagawa sa kilusan (NPA) ” he said.

On Thursday, Ocampo and Castro were charged for violation of Republic Act 7610 or the “Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act” for transporting 14 minors without the consent of their parents.

Satur Ocampo et al., waived their rights under Article 125 of the RPC.

They will no longer question the legality of their arrest and detention and they will remain under the custody of the PNP. They are given 10 days to file their counter affidavit.

A bail bond is set for 80k each. Currently, they are undergoing booking proceedings. After which, they will be brought back to Talaingod PNP for detention.

“#TraPOE” Netizens calls out Grace Poe for using Twitter bots and riding UP’s UAAP victory on social media

It seems that the social media team of Senator Grace Poe didn’t let the opportunity escape to promote their client by riding on the celebration held by the University of the Philippines for Fighting Maroons after the said basketball team reached finals.

Netizens noticed that after the Fighting Maroons won the match against Adamson University, hashtag #AtinNaPOEito dedicated to the new victory of UP quickly became a trending topic on Twitter.

However, instead of being received positively by the fans of Fighting Maroons, the Senator has been called out for allegedly using the victory of UP to promote herself in the upcoming 2019 Senatorial elections.

Netizen and NCAA Courtside Reporter Ceej Tantengco also shared her insight on how the #AtinNaPOEito hashtag quickly became viral on Twitter, saying that Poe paid for some team to make her trending on social media.

Tantengco showed some photos showing the several pages on Twitter which not posting anything about Grace Poe before suddenly used the hashtag #AtinNaPOEito.

Here’s why I think #AtinNaPOEIto is a paid campaign:

1) After the first tweet on Poe’s original account, the next tweets are by “Hugot Quotes”-style accts—ALL posted within minutes of each other starting 10AM. (Screenshots with timestamp below.)

Second, Tantengco also showed some photos of suspicious Twitter users using the same hashtag, the said Twitter users are only posting about the Senator.

Tantengco said that Grace Poe’s PR team tried to lure the Twitter users from sharing the political campaign of the Senator by using the victory of the Fighting Maroons for their own purpose.

She also slammed Poe and called her a traditional politician for using a cheap trick.

“Since the hashtag is attached to pro-UP posters & included with other pro-UP hashtags, people RT-ing may not even realize they’re sharing a political hashtag. This is a victory for the UP men’s basketball team and their supporters. Don’t bring your campaign into this. #TraPOE” Tentengco said.

Netizen @HeJeMony even called the hashtag used by Poe as the “trashiest hashtag this week”.

JP tanyag questioned why Senator Grace Poe is resorting to social media bots despite already being popular in the 2019 senatorial surveys.

“I mean if Grace Poe is leading the senatorial surveys, why resort on having bots to trend hashtags such as #AtinNaPOEIto.” he said.

Jeff Crisostomo, the chief of staff of Dinagat Islands Rep. Arlene Bag-ao, also slammed Poe for using the UP Victory for her campaign.

“The UP victory yesterday in the UAAP game belongs to the team and the entire University. Hindi para sa elektoral na kampanya ng isang kakandidato ang tagumpay na ito.” Crisostomo said.

Twitter page DigitallyManila criticized Poe for using that kind of PR campaign, saying that it reflects character as a person.

“You just don’t hijack a hash tag and make it part of your social media strategy, it is not only tacky but reflects on your character as a politician and as a person, and if you’re paying a socmed strategist, he is doing you more harm than good,” DigitallyManila wrote.

Netizen Krzy called Grace Poe “desperate” for making such attempts to lure the Fighting Maroon fans for her political campaign.

“This hashtag doesnt seem right to me. Im happy for UP for their finals appearance, but please, dont use this hype for you political agendas, this is ka-cheapan at its finest. So desperate. #AtinNaPOEIto” Krzy said.

Last year, Grace Poe expressed her opposition against using of bots on social media to condition the minds of the people.

“Fake news has become so pervasive through the use of bots and trolls that these fake accounts are able sway public opinion,” Grace Poe said.

Sen. Grace Poe camp is not yet giving a comment on the criticisms they received.

Police detains Satur Ocampo, ACT-Teachers Rep. France Castro for illegal transportation of minors

Former Bayan Muna party-list Representative Satur Ocampo and ACT-Teachers party-list Rep. France Castro claimed that the authorities detained them.

The two known activists were accused of illegally transporting minors. According to some news reports, the delegation of Ocampo consisted of 79 people, including 29 students, and 12 teachers.

According to Ocampo, while they’re traveling along  Sitio Igang, Barangay Palma Gil at around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, they were blocked by the members of the 56th Infantry Battalion and allegedly flattened their tires to stop them forcefully.

After that, they were interrogated by the authorities about their mission, saying that they only went to Davao Del Norte to help the Lumads.

“Ayaw pa rin kaming paalisin dito sa PNP-Talaingod police station. Practically dini-detain na kami dito. Hinahanapan pa kami ng kaso,” she said.

“Sinabihan kami na as of now ay wala kaming kaso kaya sabi ko, you should release us. Illegal itong ginagawa ng mga pulis,” Castro added.

They also accused the military of closing the schools they’re built for Lumad and blocking the entry of help.

“About 15 to 20 members of the Alamara were seen loitering around the school’s vicinity, persecuting the students, teacher, and locals, prompting the volunteer teachers to seek a safe sanctuary,” Executive director of Salugpongan community schools Meggie Nolasco said.

Meanwhile, According to Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) secretary general Renato Reyes said that the group of Ocampo only wanted to rescue the children from the hands of the military.

“Ang context, they had to rescue the students and teachers that night because a paramilitary group forcibly closed their school,” Reyes said.

Leftist leaders were accused of being members of New People’s Army (NPA) and recruiting Lumads as their members.

The incident happened amid the announcement of President Rodrigo Duterte that he would form a group to counter the elite forces of the NPA.

“Yan ang Mayora!” Inday Sara didn’t let the PSG stop her from rescuing a man who suffers from seizure

It seems that even she’s not in her turf, Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte couldn’t stop herself from serving the people, and even the Presidential Security Group (PSG) can’t stop her.

The daughter of President Rodrigo Duterte has been spotted near the entrance of an emergency room of a hospital in Metro Manila. Some people thought that she’s only there for some check-up, however, netizen Kevin Tan narrated why Inday Sara was there.

In his post, Tan who’s a staff of Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) claimed that Inday Sara went into the said hospital because they rushed a foreign man who’s suffering from a seizure.

According to Tan, while they’re traveling to Quezon City, Inday Sara noticed the people asking for some help after they saw the foreign man having seizures, the Davao City Mayor immediately asked the convoy to rescue the said person.

Some members of the security team of Inday Sara warned her about the breach of protocol and some security risks. However, the Mayor insisted that they should rescue the foreign national.

Because of Inday Sara’s appeal, the PSG ignored the protocol and stopped their vehicle to rescue the foreign national. They brought him into the nearest hospital to receive medical treatment.

Despite having some schedules, Inday Sara stayed for a while near the hospital to ensure that the foreign national that they rescued was already in a good condition.

Of course, some people didn’t waste the opportunity to have a selfie with the Presidential daughter while she’s waiting for an update about the condition of the foreign national.

You can read his whole post below:

As of writing, the post of Tan already reached 12,000 positive reactions and 5,000 shares from the netizens who were amazed by what Inday Sara did.

Jim Paredes slams Duterte and calls the President a traitor and stup*d: “Do not let him distract you from China issue.”

OPM artist Jim Paredes slammed President Rodrigo Duterte and called him a “traitor” for being friendly with China amid the tension in the West Philippine Sea (WPS)

In his several social media posts, Paredes couldn’t hide his anger over the new friendship between the Philippines and China and criticized Duterte for letting the Chinese do what they want.

Paredes on Facebook, called the new criticisms of President Duterte against the Catholic Church as a distraction, saying that the real issue that should be addressed was the China issue.

“Don’t let him distract you from China issue. The traitor is playing tricks.” Paredes said.

He continued his criticisms against the President in his Twitter page, labeling what Duterte is doing right now with China as “treason”.

“Stop ranting against the church. It’s about China and treason, stup*d!” Paredes said.

Paredes even confronted a netizen who defended Duterte from criticisms on Twitter, saying that Duterte broke the unity between the Filipino people.

“Formation of the country is not just the President’s effort. It should be a collaborative effort of all the people of the country. All should be involve in making our country prosper. Kaya di umuunlad ang Pilipinas dahil sa mga taong mahilig magreklamo pero wala namang gawa.” Netizen Earl Canezal said.

In response Paredes said:

“Talk about formation. He is deforming it and unforming it by giving away our islands without even a complaint. He is a coward and a traitor. Maybe he should lead the people in putting their arms behind their heads and march behind him with a white flag.” Paredes told the netizen.”

He even called Duterte a “crab leader” for trying to destroy the reputation of good people.

“Crab leader. Sinisiraan niya and mag mabubuting tao.”

In his another post, Paredes also suspected that the increasing Chinese visit in the Philippines was intended.

“If you were a Chinese mainlander, would moving to the Philippines be a great career move? Tell me. I do not know the answer. I sometimes suspect they are here for other reasons. Not just employment. Your guess is as good as mine.” Paredes said.

Paredes is a known critic of President Rodrigo Duterte, he became infamous after he confronted a group of students showing their support to former President Ferdinand Marcos.

Former Bayan Muna Rep. Teddy Casiño dares an OFW defender of Duterte: “Uwi ka muna sa Pilipinas!”

Former Bayan Muna Party-list Representative Teddy Casiño engaged into a debate with an Overseas Filipino Worker who was defending President Rodrigo Duterte on the issue on the West Philippine Sea (WPS).

Last week, a Twitter page that made to support former Senator Bongbong Marcos posted a tweet against Casiño, saying that the former lawmaker only knows how to protest against other countries who wants friendship with the Philippines.

The tweet gathered the attention of Casiño and called a Pro-Duterte supporter “tangek” for accusing him of being a supporter of the Liberal Party (LP).

“Tangek, kami nga ang nagra-rally nung nasa poder pa ang LP.” Casiño told a Twitter user.

Another netizen also tried to criticize Casiño and told him that the lawmaker is silent during the past administrations about the issue of WPS, however, the latter told the former to do more research.

Meanwhile, a Jeff Juico, the said OFW supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte accused Casiño of being a paid rallyist, which didn’t ignore by the lawmaker.

Casiño challenged Juico to go back to the Philippines to know the truth.

“Ganun ba? Uwi ka dito sa Pilipinas para malaman mo totoo.” Casiño told Juico.

The next response of Juico is a lengthy tweet addressed to Casiño telling the renowned activist that he already went home and witnessed the performance of the Duterte administration.

He also said that during his visit to the Philippines, he realized that the rallyist are part of the countries problem.

“Nakauwi na ko at nakita ko mahusay si PRRD at kayong mga raliyista perwisyo sa lipunan, ilang presidente na dumaan lagi ko kayong nakikitang nagrarally, yun at yun sinisigaw nyo pero hanggang ngayun wala akong nakita na naitulong nyo sa bayan, malinaw hanapbuhay mu yan,” Juico told Casiño.

Casiño refused to reply on Juico’s lengthy tweet.

The debate Twitter battle between Casiño and Juico also reached Facebook and the OFW received some support from his co-Duterte supporters.

Some party-list representatives were being accused of being paid in exchange of their rallies, however, the said groups denied it, saying that they’re doing it for free.

But some netizens are not convinced on how they could finance their rally events and become jobless for a long time.

Duterte reveals that they’re ‘quietly’ investigating the deals of Trillanes’ parents in Navy

President Rodrigo Duterte slammed Senator Antonio Trillanes and Magdalo party-list Rep. Gary Alejano in his speech during the Davao City Bulk Water Supply Project Groundbreaking Ceremony on November 26, 2018, saying that his two critics only know how to destroy other people’s reputation.

Duterte questioned how Trillanes and Alejano passed the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) despite having poor values and treatment on their colleagues like former Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief-of-Staff Angelo Reyes.

According to him, people only voted for Trillanes and Alejano because of the unpopularity of former President Gloria Arroyo and they thought that the two former soldiers are ‘reformers’.

“Alam mo ayaw ko sa kanya (Trillanes) yung sinabi niya sa kapwa sundalo niya [na] PMA’er si General Reyes is trying to say ‘your honor may I allow to talk and defend my honor,'” Duterte said.

“Alam mo ang sinabi ng g*go (Trillanes) ‘no sit down you have no honor’, kaya sabi ko eto ugok to,” he added.

He also cautioned the people in voting the Magdalo group of Sen. Trillanes, saying that his group is not acting like former soldiers because of their bad habits.

“Sige boto niyo pa yang magdalo magdalo, nagkakalat lang sa mundo ang mga g*go, kita mo noong nag reunion sila nakahilera ang tanduay at beer sige inuman, yan mga sundalo ninyo?” he said.

“Sinira yung peninsula, tapos nag surrender, tapos matapang daw siya, sus Trillanes amoy kita,” he added.

President Rodrigo Duterte believed that the two coups launched by the Magdalo group are only for ‘show’.

He also mentioned again the alleged VIP treatment received by Sen. Trillanes during his cadetship in PMA and their investigation on the deals of the latter’s parents in Philippine Navy (PA).

“We are looking into the papers, we’re investigating quietly yung mga deals sa panahon ng tatay.. yung involve yung nanay niya and it can be very soon na lalabas yan,” Duterte said.

The President even suspected that Alejano might also receive the same VIP treatment in PMA like his colleague Trillanes while the other cadets are suffering from rigorous training.

“Ikaw PMAer ka, nasa opisina ka ng tatay mo kumakain ka ng peanut butter tapos yung mga classmate mo (naghihirap), kaya ka ganyan you acting like a spoiled brat,” Duterte said.

In September, President Duterte already mentioned the alleged corrupt activities committed by the father of Sen. Trillanes.

“Kayong mga sundalo bilib kayo kay Trillanes. Ang tatay niyan nasa serbisyo pa, siya nasa serbisyo… ang transaksyon ang karamihang supply sa Navy, ang nanay niya,” he said.

However, Trillanes denied the accusations of the President and asked him not to drag his parents from their political fight.

After President Xi’s visit, actor Robi Domingo declares: “Philippines not for sale!”

Filipinos warmly welcomed Chinese President Xi Jinping to the Philippines this week. However, some famous public figures doubt the sincerity of China amid the West Philippine Sea Dispute.

The critics of the Duterte administration also questioned the deals entered by the Philippines with China and warned that the giant neighbor of our country would lure us to debt trap like what they allegedly did to some developing countries.

And it seems that even the actor Robi Domingo is also suspicious of China’s friendly action towards the Philippines amid the tension in the West Philippines Sea.

During the visit of Xi, Robi Domingo tweeted declaring the Philippines is his home and it’s not for sale, he didn’t mention China directly but some netizens already suspected that the actor’s tweet is a message to the Chinese President.

“Philippines is my home. Sorry, it’s not for sale.” Domingo tweeted.

“Wala naman binebenta eh.. If you are the President anu ang gagawin mo kung minana mo lang sa dating President yung pinabayaan nilang sakupin at ngayon malaki na naitayo nila sa tingin mo ganun kadali bawiin yun kahit sinabi nila di nila pinaniniwaan ang desisyon ng Tribunal.” Edz Jaurigue Barrion (@ilovedz20) told Domingo.

However, a twitter account with a name Dalai Llama (@ligawnakalat) rebutted the tweet of Barrion, saying that the debt-trap strategy of China is dangerous and the Chinese government might use the said style to gain an advantage in the West Philippine Sea dispute.

“Anong gagawin? How about, wag umutang ng bilyon-bilyon sa China dahil may history na sila ng debt-trap strategy? I-sisisi niyo sa nakaraang administrasyon eh at least sila may ginawang action. Walang binenta, oo, pero may collateral.”

Actor Jim Paredes also expressed his support to Domingo’s tweet, saying that “trolls” can criticize him, and urged him to be tough.

“I am with you. Trolls will say a lot of things. Be teflon. Don’t let anything stick. You are in the right.” Paredes said.

A netizen also challenged Domingo to avoid buying China-made products if he really wants to oppose the actions of the Chinese.

“Then don’t buy made in China! The wealthy families in the Philippines are Chinese. I’m not a Pro China but I appreciate any country helping us.” Robert Marion tweeted.

China has been accused of debt trap after some countries that borrowed from the Chinese government cannot pay their loans anymore, because of this, they were forced to pay in other ways like giving their natural resources.

However, an analyst said that the Philippines is smarter than what the critics of the government think, saying that our country is more experienced in managing loans.

“I don’t think mangyayari sa atin iyon, unless brasuhin talaga ng decision-maker,” Jay Batongbacal, director of the University of the Philippines’ Institute for Maritime Affairs and Law of the Sea, said when asked if the Philippines is likely to suffer the same fate as Sri Lanka.

During Xi’s visit, Philippines and China signed 29 deals including oil and gas development between the two countries.
