Isko Moreno urges the people to cooperate with Duterte: “Bakit pa kayo bumoboto ng Presidente kung hindi ninyo susundin ang kanyang Pangarap?”

Mayor Isko Moreno urged the people and companies to cooperate with President Rodrigo Duterte’s order to remove all obstruction of roads in the whole country.

During his weekly capital report, Mayor Isko Moreno mentioned the cleanup operation they conducted along Moriones Street Tondo, Manila where they found a roller and container dumped in the middle of the intersection which giving inconvenience to the motorist.

To remove the said obstructions, Moreno ordered his staff to use an acetylene torch to cut the equipment as they don’t have any vehicles that could tow heavy things like a roller.

According to him, companies even if they’re having contracts with government and having close ties with politicians should cooperate with the government and remove their equipment in the middle of the street if not being used.

Moreno said that he may put the company owning the said equipment to blacklist because of not getting serious with the policies of Manila City.

“Parang kanya kanya tayong gobyerno, kung gusto ninyo ng sariling rules, sariling batas, sariling gobyerno ay bumili kayo ng isla na walang nakakasakop na bansa,” he said.

Tricia Robredo slams government over polio outbreak: “Sinong talo? Yung pinakauan ninyo ng pagbabago”

Vice President Leni Robredo’s daughter criticized the government for letting the country have Measles, Dengue and Polio outbreak in just one year.

In a tweet, Tricia Robredo was saddened by the news that polio came back to the country after 19 years after the government declared the Philippines as polio-free.

According to Robredo, the polio outbreak is a result when the government strikes fear and fake news among the people and politicking health.

“Measles, dengue, and polio all in one year. When you run a nation with fear and fake news, and use health for your personal political wars. Sinong talo? ‘Yung mga pinangakuan ninyo ng pagbabago.” Robredo said.

In another tweet, Robredo urged the people to vaccinate their children.

Tricia’s mother, VP Robredo urged the people months ago to avoid irresponsible comments and accusations against vaccinations.

Several pro-vaccine advocates including Health Secretary Francisco Duque III blamed Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) chief Perside Acosta’s investigation which resulted to the Dengvaxia scare.

Cong. Atienza to former President Aquino and ex-Sec Roxas: “Kailan kayo magpapasagasa sa tren?”

Buhay party-list Representative Lito Atienza lamented the slow construction of the LRT Cavite extension project, saying that it’s already been promised by politicians for years but still not completed.

During a press conference, Atienza mentioned former President Noynoy Aquino who boasted that the LRT Cavite extension will be completed during his term, however, the said project construction only started in 2019.

He then asked the former President and former interior secretary Mar Roxas if they’re really going to keep their promise that they’re going to let themselves run over by a train if they’re not going to complete the said project in the time they mentioned.

“Yung train papunta sa Cavite, diba? Anong sabi ni Pnoy ‘magpapasagasa ako kapag hindi pa tumatakbo ng December [2015] yan eh’, kasama ko si Secretary Roxas… I’d like to ask them, magpapasagasa na ba kayo? dahil hindi pa nauumpisahan hanggang ngayon,” Atienza said.

“For President Pnoy and Secretary Roxas, bakit hindi kayo nag pasagasa? Para maniwala kami sa inyo,” he added.

It seems that Atienza mistakenly mentioned Roxas instead of former Transportation Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya who’s the one mentioned by Pnoy during his speech in Cavite.

During a campaign sortie of his senatorial slate in April 2013, former President Aquino vowed to the people of Cavite that the LRT Cavite Extension project would be completed in 2015.

“Pagdating naman ng 2015, hindi lang natin mapapabilis ang biyahe mula Baclaran hanggang Bacoor kundi madadagdagan din tayo ng tinatayong 250,000 na pasahero ang maisasakay kada araw dahil sa LRT Line 1 extension. At pag hindi ho nangyari ito, nandiyan po si Secretary Abaya na mangangasiwa ng proyektong to, dalawa na kaming magpapasagasa siguro sa tren,” he said.

Even if the footage was taken a long time ago, the speech was still getting viral on the internet sometimes.

According to the Department of Transportation, the LRT-1 extension will be operation by the end of 2021.

“‘Mama wag mo namang gawin iyon nakakahiya, ang nakakahiya ay yung kapag wala kang mapalamon kapag nabuntis mo yan,” he added.

Mayor Isko Moreno answers the question if he’s interested to become a President: “Wala pa akong nagagawa sa Maynila”

Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno has an answer to the people who are asking if he’s interested to become a President of the Philippines in the future.

After his speech at the St. Scholastica’s College, Moreno has been asked by one of its students if he would accept the Presidency if it’s already given to him.

Moreno said that becoming the President of the Philippines is not his childhood dream, but to become a captain of a ship to escape poverty.

However, when he became an actor he said that he would give back blessings he received and serve the people of Manila.

Will I wish to become a President? I don’t know… why? I don’t know yet… am I qualify as a President? my answer is no,” Moreno said.

“Why? Wala pa naman akong nagagawa sa Maynila eh. Will I use my fame take of it because I’m popular?” he added.

According to Moreno, some people took advantage of being popular and entered politics even if they’re still clueless on how they would manage the people.

“I really want to be clear with you guys, I know you are frustrated already, am I qualify? no, because what I’m doing here is just basic governance, well if there’s one good thing, thank you very much,” he said.

Moreno insisted that he would take care of Manila first before seeking for a higher government position because he’s not asking for more power.

He even revealed that someone put a tarpaulin with his face during a fiesta in Cavite to promote the Manila City Mayor in the 2022 elections.

However, Moreno said that he’s not preparing for 2022 election and only trying to solve the problem of Manila.

“I swear to God, since July 1, what we have been doing has nothing to do with 2022, it’s all about the chaos, the problems and challenges of the city government of Manila we are facing and the people of Manila is suffering,” he said.

President Duterte on the appointment of Gerald Bantag as BuCor head: “Gusto ko siya kasi nagtatapon ng granada”

President Rodrigo Duterte expressed his admiration to the newly-appointed head of Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Gerald Bantag for his alleged involvement in a grenade explosion inside the Paranaque City penal institution in 2016.

“Gusto ko siya kasi nagtatapon ng granada daw,” The President said.

In an interview with the reporters Tuesday, President Duterte said Bantag is presumed innocent until proven guilty and the court is still investigating the latter.

“I think the case is in court. He’s facing homicide charges. I don’t think that he did it. If he did, then baka ma-convict siya,” Duterte told reporters

According to the President, he only made a simple marching order to Bantag because he believes that the latter already know what he’s going to do with the people detained in the national penitentiary.

“Alam na niya ‘yan. Siya man ang — siya man ang taga-BJMP, so alam niya. Marching order is to guard and so that they will not escape. That’s why it’s a penitentiary.” he said.

The appointment of Bantag has been announced several days after Senator Christopher “Bong” Go suggested that the next BuCor head should be a killer.

Bantag is the replacement of former BuCor chief Nicanor Faeldon who became controversial after the GCTA mess.

The investigation on the GCTA mess unearthed more irregularities like ‘Hospital pass for sale’ scheme where the inmate can use the hospital facilities in exchange of money.
