Sen. Pangilinan on Duterte’s challenge to Robredo: “Bakit naman 6 months lang? Gawin na nilang three years!”

Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan challenged President Rodrigo Duterte to give Vice President Leni Robredo three years instead of six months to handle the law enforcement in the country.

In a social media post, Pangilinan believes that Robredo would end the corruption among law enforcement in the country.

He also said that the law enforcers are not going to pursue the poor people anymore.

Pangilinan pointed out that it would be unfair for Robredo to get such a very limited time to prove that her suggestions to the government are more effective than the current style of the current administration in enforcing the law.

“Bakit naman six months lang? Gawin na nilang three years at sigurado ako hindi na papalusutin ang tonetoneladang shabu sa BoC (Bureau of Customs), wala na ang araw-araw na pagtugis ng mahihirap nating mga kababayan habang mga ninja cops at sindikato ay binibigyan ng mataas na posisyon, pinalalaya dahil sa GCTA (Good Conduct TIme Allowance) o inaabswelto at sigurado na hindi na tayo walang imik at sunud-sunuran sa China,” he said on his Facebook page.

“3 years na nilang hawak ang law enforcement so dapat lang 3 years din ang ibigay na oras para fair!” he added.

Pangilinan made the said statements after the President revealed that he will inform the Vice President to handle the law enforcement in the country.

“I will surrender my powers to enforce the law. Ibigay ko sa Vice President. Ibigay ko sa kanya mga six months. Siya ang magdala. Tingnan natin kung ano mangyari. Hindi ako makialam. Sige, gusto mo? Mas bright ka? Sige. Ikaw. Subukan mo,” Duterte said.

“Gusto ko lang malaman kung kaya niya, marami kasi siyang sinasalita, anong pinagsasabi niya sa labas, do it here… six months, anytime, gusto niya ngayon? tawagan mo siya, I can talk to her tonight,” the President also said in another interview.

President Duterte says he will give his law enforcement powers to VP Robredo: “Mas bright ka? Sige. Ikaw. Subukan mo.”

President Rodrigo Duterte criticized Vice President Leni Robredo for questioning the effectiveness of the current administration’s law enforcement.

In a speech on Monday, Duterte said that he would give his powers to Robredo for six months so the latter could prove that her suggestions are better than the current ways of the administration.

“I will surrender my powers to enforce the law. Ibigay ko sa Vice President. Ibigay ko sa kanya mga six months. Siya ang magdala. Tingnan natin kung ano mangyari. Hindi ako makialam. Sige, gusto mo? Mas bright ka? Sige. Ikaw. Subukan mo,” Duterte said.

He also ordered Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea to send a letter to Robredo.

Duterte clarified said in another interview that he’s not telling the Vice President to stop releasing criticisms. Still, he wanted to see if Robredo is going to be successful if she’s going to handle the law enforcers in the country.

“Gusto ko lang malaman kung kaya niya, marami kasi siyang sinasalita, anong pinagsasabi niya sa labas, do it here… six months, anytime, gusto niya ngayon? tawagan mo siya, I can talk to her tonight,” said Duterte.

“I will order tomorrow everybody should follow her in the matter of drug issue, siya na,” he added.

Duterte made the statement after Robredo said that the administration should stop their failed war against drugs.

However, Robredo clarified that she’s not asking the current admin to stop their operations, but only to change its style.

“Kapag tiningnan mo, Ka Ely, iyong interview ko, iba iyong sinabi ko. Kapag tiningnan mo iyong interview ko, ang sinabi ko, dapat i-assess ng pamahalaan kung tama pa ba iyong strategy na ginagamit. Kasi kung mali na, kailangang i-tweak,” she said.

Mayor Isko Moreno becomes a commercial model, gives millions of his talent fee to PGH

Mayor Isko Moreno’s popularity catches the attention of several brands and now they’re hiring the celebrity-turned-politician to become their endorser.

On his live Facebook video, Mayor Isko Moreno announced that he was hired as one of the models of JAG Jeans and IAM Coffee and he might appear in several advertisements in the future.

Moreno decided to give all the talent fees he received from the two brands for the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) to help ailing children who cannot afford their medical expenses.

The Mayor received a talent fee of P1-M from JAG while IAM World who owns IAM Coffee gave him P3-M.

Surprisingly, one of the brands who took Isko as their endorser decided to give the same amount to PGH.

“Wag kayong magugulat kung may makita kayong mga poster o commercial… basta ang sinisigurado ko sa inyo may pupuntahan namang maayos yan,” Moreno said.

“Okay lang bakit? Basta pakikinabangan ng ibang tao lalo na yung mga sakit,” he added.

Moreno also showed a cheque worth P1.5 that he immediately sent to PGH.

He also urged the netizens to donate to PGH saying that even a small amount could help the patients of the said hospital.

“Kung kayo ay tutulong, maraming paraan ng pagtulong, wag kayong mahihiya, pwedeng piso, pwedeng isang daan, pwedeng isang libo, lahat pwede,” he said.

Mayor Moreno opens largest free dialysis center in the Philippines, Lim calls Isko as next President

Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno led the opening of the largest free dialysis center in the Philippines, and possibly also in the entire Asia-Pacific region on Thursday, his exact birthday.

The Flora Valisno Siojo Dialysis Center was named before the grandmother of former Mayor Alfredo Lim who’s also present during the said event.

Moreno said that they decided to name the dialysis center before Lim’s grandmother because he wanted the people of Manila to remember their former Mayor who handled the city for 12 years.

‘Isa itong maliit na pagkilala sa 12 taong serbisyo ni Mayor Lim sa Maynila. Makikilala ngayon itong ‘Siojo Dialysis Center’ bilang pinakamalaki sa Pilipinas.’ Moreno said.

According to Moreno, there will be more than 100 dialysis machines in the said building, bigger than the National Kidney Institute.

He also said that they would prioritize poor people to use the dialysis machines for free which normally cost around P4,000 to P2,000 per session.

Meanwhile, Lim was full of gratitude to Moreno’s decision saying that the latter can be a good President in the future.

“Tiyak na tiyak, magiging Pangulo (siya), dahil sa ngayon wala naman tayong nakikita na maaring maging Pangulo ng bansa, sa ngayon… ewan ko yung iba, baka hindi pa pinapanganak, sigurado na si President Isko ang magiging Pangulo natin,” he said.

“Pero ang masakit non, baka nasa sementeryo na ako non, hindi na ko pwedeng pumalakpak, pero alam niya na pinagdarasal ko ang kanyang tagumpay,” he added.

Mayor Isko only smiled while listening to Lim’s praises.

Atong Ang says that Marjorie Barreto should be more afraid of Recom Echiverri’s family: “Idineklara mong kabit ka!”

Businessman Charlie “Atong” Ang in an exclusive interview with Noli De Castro on TV Patrol said that Marjorie Barreto should not be afraid of him because he’s already used to be controversial.

However, Ang warned Marjorie that she should be more afraid of the possible response from the family of former Caloocan City Mayor Recom Echiverri after the latter announced that she’s a mistress of the said politician.

“Kung may dapat kang katakutan, I think, yung pamilya ni Recom, kasi idineklara mong kabit ka,” Ang said.

“Aba’y dapat lang matakot ka, may mga anak yun. Kung ibinulgar mo ako, huwag kang mag-alala, sikat naman ako talaga,” he added.

Recom, is married to Purification Malabanan-Echiverri.

Ang also gave suggestions to the Barreto sister to stop their feud because their remaining parent is being affected by their controversies.

“Sa inyong mga Barretto, since naging parang family ko kayo, kayo na, nilalahat ko na kayo, nawala na ang tatay niyo ngayon, nag-iisa na ang nanay niyo. Kapareho ko, ang nanay ko, mahal ko nanay ko. Inaalagaan ko ‘yan,” Ang said.

“Magtulong-tulong lang kayo, magbigay kayo ng pera, buhayin niyo, pilitin niyo na maka-survive ang nanay niyo,” he added.

Ang also made a sarcastic remark, saying that the Barreto sisters are entertaining the people by their feud.

“Anyway, nakakatulong naman kayo. Nagkakaroon ng libangan yung mga tao. Ngayon, kung gusto niyong ituloy, mga artista naman kayo, e, di ituloy niyo. Pero suggestion ko lang, tigilan niyo na. Nabababoy yung mga anak niyo,” he said.

“Kita mo, ikaw Marjorie, nasisira tuloy yung mga anak mo. May career pa naman ‘yang anak mo. Itago niyo na ‘yung mga ganyan. Nasisira, e. Hindi ka naman sisikat, Marjorie, o kayo Gretchen… kung mag-aaway kayo, pareho naman kayo na hindi na nag-aartista,” he added.

The Barreto feud started when Marjorie reportedly refused to shake the hands of her sister Gretchen in front of President Duterte.

Claudine confronted Marjorie after the latter refused the request of the President.

After numerous exchanges on social media, Marjorie appeared on national television and admitted that Recom is the father of her youngest daughter.

“Recom Echiverri is the father of my youngest daughter. That’s all I have to say,” Marjorie told ABS-CBN News’ Karen Davila in an interview on Tuesday.

“I understand where this is coming from. Maybe they think the mother’s a mistress, and maybe they think she’s a mistress for money. But that’s not the truth. I’m not a mistress for money,” she also said.

CCTV footage showing confrontation between Morcillo family and Alxander Butal at Brgy Hall released

A CCTV Footage has been released on social media showing the confrontation between the relatives of Dimples Morcillo and Alexander Butal.

The footage was taken inside a Barangay Hall an hour after Morcillo accused Butal of trying to kiss her while they’re riding an e-jeepney.

In the video, it can be seen Dimples, together with her mother and father while charging at Butal. However, Dimples tried to stop her relatives from charging at the jeepney driver.

Butal cannot be seen in the video as the camera couldn’t reach the jeepney driver.

In the background, it can be heard a Barangay official claiming that he told the relatives of Morcillo to stop their actions because they might become responsible for the medical expenses of Butal.

There’s also a moment where the mother of Dimples was stopped by the people inside the Barangay hall after she attempted to go near Butal.

It can be remembered that the mother of Dimples claimed that she’s the last one who arrived at the Barangay Hall, saying that if she arrived on time, she will stop her relatives from charging at Butal.

The mother of Dimples also received a warning from the said official, reminded her that she’s working for the Barangay as a health worker.

A few days ago, Dimples and her mother plead to Butal during their face-to-face at the program Raffy Tulfo in Action, asking the jeepney driver not to file a case against them after it was proven that the former is only making a story.

Despite the plea of the Morcillo family, Butal insisted that the people who charge at him should face legal consequences.

A CCTV footage taken inside the e-jeepney shows that Butal only lost his balance while trying to sit beside Morcillo.

Goodmorning selfies ?

A post shared by Julia. (@juliabarretto) on

Gretchen Barreto, Julia’s aunt noticed Gutierrez comment on the latter’s Instagram post which made her throw shade against the former beauty queen.

On her Instagram post, Gretchen Barreto reposted the Instagram selfie of Julia, highlighting the comment of Gutierrez and called her “sawsawera”.

“Sawsaw pa more! Ruffy!! take it take it!! wow!!” Gretchen Barreto captioned.

Barreto seems to refer to the 1994 Manila Film Festival fiasco where Ruffa Gutierrez was falsely awarded the title “best actress”.

The line “Take it, take it!” came from the late actress Viveka Babajee who encouraged Gutierrez to take the award during that time.

Gretchen is one of the whistleblowers who revealed the fiasco during that time.

Meanwhile, Ruffa posted a message on Instagram following the criticism she received from Gretchen.

“The next time they try to put you down, just remember that confidence is silent but insecurities are loud,” Gutierrez said.

Ruffa’s mother, Anabelle Rama also suggested to her daughter not to waste her time trying to fight back against Gretchen.

“Tama, huwag mo na patulan ‘yan. Don’t waste your precious time! Basta mahal ka namin ng family mo, ‘yon ang importante!” Anabelle Rama said.

However, in another post, Anabelle is the one who fight back for her daughter against the criticisms of Gretchen.

“Kawawa ka naman. Halos wala ka ng kakampi. Halos buong mundo, isinusumpa ka. Nananahimik kami, bakit galit ka sa comment ng anak ko, masama bang mag-comment ng positive?” Annabelle said.

“Bakit ka ba nagwawala, hindi naman tungkol sa’yo ang comment?! Dapat kang magalit sa mga nag-post ng pictures n’yong dalawa ng boyfriend mo na nasa airport kayo hanggang sa airplane….” she added.

Anabelle Rama also added that Gretchen should focus on searching for the people who posted her photos with Atong Ang on social media.

Netizen explains how an modernize jeep saves Alexander Butal from the accusations of Dimple Morcillo

The story released by the radio and social media program Raffy Tulfo in Action about Alexander Butal and Dimple Morcillo is one of the most discussed topics this month.

Butal and Morcillo faced each other in the said program and made the latter to beg for forgiveness to the jeepney driver.

In a Facebook post, netizen Benjie Tech praised the said episode of Raffy Tulfo in Action because they gave justice to the right person and it showed that you cannot escape the consequences despite asking for forgiveness.

“Not entirely a fan of the Tulfo show BUT in this case, to see a bit of justice served to a true victim and seeing the guilty ones kneel and beg for mercy in public made me appreciate the show. Hats off Raffy Tulfo in Action! What made it even sweeter was that the victim gave a cold and badass response while the accused was down on her knees. “Tuloy ang kaso!”. It’s sad that some mistakes cannot be undone and consequences won’t just go away with an apology BUT this fact also makes us more mindful and responsible of our actions,” Benjie said.

Benjie also pointed out that Butal might suffer in the accusations of Morcillo forever if the incident didn’t happen inside a modernize jeepney with a CCTV.

“I also have to acknowledge the fact that if the incident didn’t happen inside one of those new e-jeepneys then this poor man wouldn’t have been able to defend himself. Thanks to the availability of CCTV inside these modernized PUVs,” he said.

Mr. Butal, a 53-year-old jeepney driver was wrongly accused by Morcillo of touching her and the incident almost put the former in detention.

However, a CCTV footage that was taken inside an e-jeepney saved Butal from the accusations and proven that he only lost his balance while trying to sit beside Morcillo.

Butal insisted that he’s going to file charges against Morcillo and her other relatives.

Netizen writes open letter to critics of Duterte: “He is Old, He is in Pain but he never stops in serving his people!”

A netizen who saw the photo of the President who is suffering in back pain during his trip to Japan wrote an open letter to the critics of the current administration.

On Wednesday, October 23, netizen Noel Landiro Sarifa made a lengthy post, pointed out that the photo posted by some media outlets showing how uncomfortable the President is during his visit in Japan only indicates that the chief executive still wanted to continue his job despite his condition.

According to him, instead of making fun of the President, they should help the leader of the country to achieve his goals.

“Sa mga Kritiko ni Duterte, Look At our President! He is Old, He is in Pain but he never stops in serving his people.” Sarifa said.

“All I ask from you is to help us build a nation. see the goodness in him, see the purpose of what he does, not just on what wrong you think he is doing. Ilang dekada na akong nabubuhay bilang Pilipino pero ngaun lang tayo nagkaroon ng Presidente na puro trabaho. Let us take advantage of these times, imbes na batuhin, tawanan, kutyain at puro na lang kontra.” he added.

He also said that instead of complaining, people should ask themselves how they can contribute to the country and show to the world how the Filipinos unite for the sake of the country.

“He is doing this for us, ako, tayo, kasama ka. Sana lang imbes na magreklamo, itanong mo na lang sa sarili mo, ” Ano ba ang maitutulong ko?” at sa kaunting paraan na alam mo tumulong tayo. This is the time na ipakita natin sa mundo na kaya nating magka-isa para sa bayan. Hindi dahil sa political preference natin. This is the time na magkapit bisig tayo para ibangon ang Pilipinas. Let us be proud pinoy, sa salita, sa isip at sa gawa.” Sarifa said.

“Let this be a wake-up call to us all Filipinos before it’s too damn late. Building a nation is a NOT A ONE MAN JOB, IT IS OUR JOB!” he added.

As of writing the post of Sarifa already reached 30,000 shares on social media.

Sarifa is one of the netizens who defended the President after the latter cut short his trip to Japan to see a neurologist after suffering from “unbearable” back pain.

According to Malacanang, the condition of the President is connected to his recent motorcycle fall.

The President was also seen using a cane during his trip to Japan a sign that he’s having a hard time to walk.

Tulfo to UP Skimmers: Inulan ng batikos, tapos ngayon natatakot!

Journalist Erwin Tulfo discussed the viral cheer routine of the University of the Philippines – Visayas Skimmers after it received backlash from the supporters of President Rodrigo Duterte.

The performance of the UP Skimmers received millions of views on social media after they discussed their opinions against the current administration via a cheer routine.

Tulfo asked his audience if the cheer routine of UP Skimmers is still part of the freedom of expression or already an act of sedition which is punishable by law.

“Bakit daw magagalit ang mga Duterte supporters eh yun daw ay freedom of expression, naiintindihan ko yung sinasabi ninyo ma’am at sir sa UP, mayroon po tayong kalayaan sa pamamahayag,” Tulfo said.

“Pero kung ang freedom na yan ay sumusupil sa isa pang kalayaan eh hindi na po magiging freedom yan, kapag niyuyurakan mo na yung kalayaan ng iba ay bawal,” he added.

The journalist also urged the officials of UP to review the statements of the Skimmers.

Tulfo also narrated that he was once an activist but he didn’t wish harm to the leader of the government.

“Kayong mga taga-UP at estudyante na aktibista na makakaliwa, pare-pareho tayong naging estudyante. Sumali rin ako sa mga rally at nagalit din ako sa mga Pangulo (noon). Ang sinabi, ‘ibagsak at lansagin ang diktadurya. Sipain sa pwesto at palayasin sa Malacañang’. ‘Yun ang sinasabi ng mga estudyante noon. Walang sinabi noon na paslangin ang Pangulo na iyan,” he said.

According to Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles, people should think twice before releasing a statement because there’s also a limit on freedom of expression.

“Dapat careful lang tayo sa mga sinasabi natin, parang medyo napupunta ka na doon sa linya na baka mag overstep na kayo ng bounderies, basta nirerespeto naman natin ang karapatang pantao ng lahat pero dapat maging careful parin tayo,” Nograles said.
