Baron Geisler made a response to the interviews about Nadia Montenegro’s revelation about their child, Sophia.
On July 15, during a private screening of the movie “Moro,” Baron responded to the press, who kept asking him about his thoughts on Nadia’s message to him.
“I have no comment. Ang akin lang, I’m really happy that she greeted—Sophia greeted, or the child greeted my wife a happy birthday,” said Baron.
“I would say na I’m very happy where I am right now. With Ms. Nadia Montenegro, I have no comments about that, sa sinabi niya,” he added.
It can be recalled that Nadia questioned Baron’s timing in confirming the rumors surrounding them since 2008.
“Isang beses pa lamang sila nagkita, biglang in-announce na agad. So, asan dun ang intensiyon mo? Magkaroon ng relationship o gusto mo lang ang views? Gusto mong mapag-usapan o gusto mong mag-promote? Ilagay mo sa tama kung ano ang intensiyon mo kasi ramdam na ramdam ko ayaw na ng anak ko,” Nadia said.
In 2008, both Baron and Nadia vehemently denied that they had an affair and even tried to file charges against entertainment columnist Cristy Fermin, who reported the said rumors.
Veteran actress Nadia Montenegro finally confirmed that she had a daughter with actor Baron Geisler.
In an interview with Boy Abunda, Nadia directly mentioned Baron’s name while talking about their daughter, Sophia.
She also narrated how Sophia and Baron met for the first time.
“Pinangakuan siya na ‘Sige magkikita tayo ng isang beses, pero walang makakaalam.’ Tito Boy, sila ang magkausap, hindi ako nakialam,” said Nadia.
She also confirmed that Sophia and Baron were actively communicating via social media.
However, she didn’t like some of the messages being sent by Baron to their daughter when the actor was under the influence.
That was the reason why Nadia didn’t want Baron to meet Sophia.
“Huwag nating kalimutan na, bakit ba tumagal nang ganito? Tito Boy, unlimited chances for someone to change. Give me a reason na ipaharap kita sa kaniya nang sober ka,” she said.
“The drunk messages. The drunk text to my daughter. You think that would help her?” she added.
She also called out Baron again for allegedly using their daughter to promote his upcoming project.
“You came out in an interview all of a sudden without even asking us? Even if you didn’t mention my name, sa tingin mo hindi kami nabulabog? Did you even think for a while what would happen to your daughter?” she said.
The criticism being received by P-pop group BINI has been coming on social media since last week.
It can be recalled that the girl group raised the eyebrows of some netizens and internet personalities for wearing a mask while arriving at an airport.
As a response, the group wore a more concealing outfit, which some netizens said was inspired by the outfit of the dance group Jabbawockeez.
However, some netizens became more critical of the group and even addressed BINI’s attitude on social media.
Some netizens even gave friendly advice to some members of BINI, saying that they should not make fun of the criticisms they receive.
“Sa entertainment, hindi ka dapat nang-aasar. Dapat do something that people will love you kasi yun ang mabenta. Magkakaroon ng mas madaming fans kaysa lalagasan ng fans. They are there because of their fans po. My two-cents,” netizen @pageblooms said.
“Two-cents? Keep the change,” BINI Colet responded.
Netizens called out Colet for her way of replying, saying that the netizen was giving valid advice.
“The statement made is very constructive and respectful. The response though was off. In a few days no one would come over to see them or to take pictures with them anymore. Some people might wear the same outfits and masks and pretend to be bini in public,” netizen Sheng said.
“Enjoy it while it lasts,” netizen Joyce commented.
“Kakasimula lang mag bloom ma attitude naah..diosko hahahaha. Wag ganyan mga langa be humble kc pinangarap nyu yan ng matagal, mahirap na baka bigla mag lahu kaagad,” netizen Mildred remarked.
Comedian Vice Ganda touched the hearts of the televiewers after he expressed his support to a participant of It’s Showtime’s segment, “EXpecially For You.”
On Friday, July 19, 2024, the contestant, April, shared her insecurities due to Alopecia, a condition that makes someone lose their hair.
Because of her condition, April was forced to wear a wig.
Vice told April they were both wearing wigs to boost her confidence.
The comedian also said that he was aware of the criticism he received from the netizens for wearing a wig.
“Pareho tayong naka-wig. Sana makahanap ka ng lalaki na ano gusto kang yakapin kahit wala kang wig…. hahalikan ka kahit wala ka ng wig tapos ‘mag-a-I love you’ kahit wala ka ng wig. One day some day you will get that because you deserve that,” Vice said.
“Hindi na ako affected sa mga pangit na pangit sa akin ‘pag walang wig. May wig o wala, may nagmamahal dito noh… bukod kay Ion, mahal ako ng nanay ko… mahal ako ng mga kapatid ko… mahal ako ng pamilya ko, mahal ako ni Lord,” he added.
The episode quickly went viral on social media, and the comedian received praise from the netizens and also from the advocates of Alopecia.
Tricia Sandejas, the known first love of the late actor Rico Yan, narrated how she met and fell into one of the most popular artists in the country until today.
She narrated her story with Rico on the “RICO: the commemorative magazine.”
Tricia said she met Rico in 1992 at De la Salle University, where they were both freshman students.
According to her, Rico was the one who made the first move and started courting her.
“He started calling me up, and our friendship began. I remember he would always wait for me at Mcdonald’s so we could eat and spend our break time together. I didn’t realize that he was already courting me until he sent me Chips Ahoy and a sweet note when I got sick,” she said.
In 1993, Rico then asked Tricia to be his girlfriend, and she immediately said yes.
“Among all the flowers in the world, you are the one that stands out,” Tricia said while recalling the words Rico said to her.
Their relationship even became sweeter and even reached to the point that they were ‘inseparable’ already.
“We wrote long love letters to each other every day, and sometimes he would give me 3 letters that he wrote in 1 day. He would leave notes in the place where we hung out to tell me where I could find him,” she narrated.
Tricia also recalled how their relationship was so simple and fun.
“One rainy afternoon, we were getting bored in the house just watching TV, and suddenly his entire face lit up, and he said, “Let’s take a shower in the rain!” There we were in my backyard, chasing each other in the rain and playing our silly games,” she said.
They even planned their wedding and the names of their future children.
Everything changed when he started working in the showbiz industry.
“I could sense that he was getting pressured to do a lot of things. It was getting heavier every day. He was going to school, finishing his thesis, and making a movie at the same time. I tried my best to understand his career path, but I couldn’t help feeling neglected,” she said.
“I was also starting to feel jealous of the pretty girls he would be with,” she added.
Despite his stardom, Rico didn’t hide Tricia from his fans.
However, their relationship ended when Rico became overwhelmed with his career.
In 1997, they officially ended their relationship, and she was supportive of the decision as Rico was already becoming a big star.
They even met in 2002, when they celebrated Rico’s birthday together and informed her about the end of his relationship with Claudine Barretto.
Tricia was now married to former Makati City Mayor Junjun Binay.
The first week of the newest TV5 program, Wil To Win, was visibly stressful for its main host, Willie Revillame.
In an episode of Wil To Win, Willie reprimanded the show’s staff live on television.
Willie couldn’t stop reacting when he noticed one of the staff walking where the camera was panning, which resulted in the latter being seen by televiewers.
Willie explained why he was strict with his staff, saying that every error on the show was his responsibility.
“Naiintindihan n’yo ba ako kung bakit ako nagagalit? ‘Yan po ang problema kapag hindi alam ang ginagawa sa show, ako lahat ang nananagot,” said Willie.
“Tapos sasabihin n’yo mayabang na naman ‘yan. Binabash n’yo ako, kasi pinapaganda ko ang programa,” he added.
Willie even claimed that he was the only one thinking for the show.
“Ako ang nagiging kawawa at arogante dito sa show na ‘to. Makikita n’yo pati music. Maawa kayo sa akin, lahat ako nag-iisip para sa inyo,” he stated.
Willie also said that same thing during the first episode of the show.
“Maawa naman kayo sa akin. Ako pa ba mag-iisip niyan? Diyos ko po naman. Maawa kayo sa akin. Nahihirapan na ako sa show na ‘to. Ako lahat,” he said.
John denied that he was trying to flirt with other women in Boracay and even claimed that he was having a mutually agreed cool-off with Priscilla.
Priscilla, in a separate statement, denied that she agreed to end her relationship with John temporarily.
“To clarify, there was never any mutual agreement regarding our separation. We were married when I left the Philippines, and we remain married as of this time. While there is indeed more to this story, it is not the approriate time to delve into those details,” she said.
Netizens also encouraged Priscilla not to divorce John.
“Ay naku Miss Pri, wag ka makipagdivorce kasi binigyan mo lang sila ng kalayaan. Bayaan mo yung gurl na maging jumper forever,” netizen Mary said.
A lawyer asked the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) committee to investigate Vice Ganda’s movie entry at the event.
During a press conference during the launch of MMFF on July 26, Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, who’s also an owner of Borracho Film Production, said that Vice’s movie, “And The Breadwinner, is…” was copied from a movie from 1995.
The movie Topacio mentioned was the 1995 movie of Rogelio Dela Rosa and Emma Alegre titled “Higit sa Lahat.”
“Based on the synopses that I’ve heard, ‘yung pelikula ni Vice Ganda, the plot appears to be the exact duplicate of the 1955 film ‘Higit sa Lahat’ starring Rogelio Dela Rosa and Emma Alegre,” said Topacio.
“Could you please look into that and if there are possible consequences as to copyright, etc…Pakitingin lang po if this is a case of plagiarism,” he added.
Boots Anson-Rodrigo of the Movie Workers Welfare Foundation (Mowelfund) and Don Artes of Metro Manila Development Authority said that they would study the complaint of Topacio.
Meanwhile, the producer of Vice’s movie insisted that the story of “And the Bread Winner Is…” was original.
They also argued that there would be a chance that some stories may be similar to others.
“Sa panahon ngayon, may makakapareho at makakapareho ka talaga. Like lahat naman ng story ngayon ay ‘Romeo & Juliet’, ‘di ba?” said Percy Intalan.
It can be recalled that Topacio was one of the critics of the movies being published by Vice.
“Gumastos kami ng 33 million para sa ‘Mamasapano.’ Ang hirap bawiin because of the climate of the local film industry. Dominated kasi ‘yung local industry ng foreign films. Yon ang number one,” he said.
“Number two, ‘yung mga movies na walang katuturan. Katulad ng mga movies ni Vice Ganda. ‘Yon ang namamayagpag e,” he added.
One of the P-pop group BINI members, Sheena Catacutan, received a mixed reaction from the netizens after she labeled Sarah Geronimo as ‘mother.’
In her tweet on July 16, 2024, Sheena shared a video where Sarah could be seen walking with her husband, Matteo Guidicelli.
“My mother,” Sheena captioned.
However, many netizens misunderstood Sheena’s post and thought that she was calling Sarah a mother.
“Bat nman tinawag mong mother c sarah sana sister nlang kc mas mukhang matanda ka pa sa kanya,” netizen Luisa said.
“OA [overacting] po kasi talaga masyado ang BINI na akala nila super sikat sila,” netizen Najera commented.
“Mas matanda siya tingnan kaysa kay Sarah, dapat siya ang tawaging mother,” another netizen remarked.
Some Blooms defended Sheena, saying that people must practice reading comprehension as they believed that the BINI member only called Sarah, her mother due to their resemblance.
“Dios ko naman lahat pinapatulan ng Netizen, baka naman kasi Fan Girl sya ni Sarah G at nakikita nyang may pagkahawig sya sa Pop Star Royalty. Wag na sana ma Issue, Spread Love na lang sana and appreciate it kasi humahanga sila kay Sarah G at pinapakita nila ang kanila pag respeto na alam nilang hinding hindi nila mapapantayan,” netizen Algene said.
Paulina Sotto-Llanes, Vic Sotto’s daughter, said she’s now a single mother.
In her Instagram post, Paulina shared a photo together with her daughter, Sachi and stated that she entered a new chapter of her life after hinting at her separation from her husband, Jed Llanes.
“Navigating a new life chapter as a single mom. It’s been a crazy last few weeks with lots of ups and downs, but life goes on. Thankful for what the past 10 years have given me- my beautiful daughter. Now on to better things,” she said.
Paulina and Jed married in 2017.
In 2019, Paulina even shared her thoughts on the increasing number of separations between partners due to social media.
“With social media, yeah, it’s great for marketing and business. But I always say social media is so toxic. It is so toxic and evil. It is so much easier to stray, you know what I mean? It’s terrible, it’s terrible! That’s why there are so many people separating, they’re divorcing,” she wrote.
“They don’t even have divorce in this country, but there are so many couples that separated and dating other people. So, I think that’s the biggest difference. It’s so hard to sustain a marriage,” she added.
Paulina didn’t reveal the reason for her marriage breakdown.
