Suportado? Teacher who posted edited photo of Duterte gets support from some netizens

One of the Facebook pages of the school where the teacher who posted an edited photo of President Rodrigo Duterte is working posted a cryptic message.

On Tuesday, one of the pages of Maryhill College in Lucena City posted a short message amid the criticisms being received by one of their teachers Laarnie Villaluz.

“NO TO FASCISM,” the page said.

It’s not yet known if the said page was the official business page of the said school.

The said page got 7,990 followers and 30,810 check-ins.

Several netizens also threw their support to the teacher and criticized the Duterte administration.

“I am for the school that stands for truth.I am for the school that is not afraid to speak up.I am for the school that values life and human rights.I am for the school that allows its teachers to speak their mind,” Eric Isles said.

“Good job Maryhill for calling it what it is! It takes courage and honesty to speak the truth to power. Maryhill, All Hail!” Deo Prieto commented.

“GO MARYHILL COLLEGE ? SANA ALL KATULAD NG MARYHILL,” Joel Boncay remarked.

However, some netizens, including an employee of Maryhill College didn’t like what the said Facebook page said.

“This page is not under the supervision of Maryhill College.
Kindly delete this post,” Michael Mcvey-Hally commented.

Jude Cetaph remarked.

“Now I blame the Institution that tolerate such manners,” Bradziz Suenan commented.

Yesterday, Villaluz received criticisms after she posted an edited photo of Duterte that making him look like eating dog food.

She apologized for the incident and even asked the netizens to spare her family, friends, and workplace on the issue.

However, some people were calling the attention of the Professional Regulatory Commission to investigate the teacher and revoke her license to teach.

The school has yet to give an official statement on the said issue.

Even the school where senior high teacher Laarni Villaluz couldn’t escape the wrath of the netizens because of what their worker did.

It can be remembered that Villaluz is the licensed teacher who posted an edited photo of President Rodrigo Duterte while paying respect to the victims of Jolo b0mbings.

The edited photo made President Duterte look like eating a branded dog food.

Netizens discovered that Villaluz was working in a private school in Lucena City.

Most of them were disappointed because Villaluz was supposed to give a higher standard of learning to her students because she’s working in a private school.

Here are some of the comments of the netizens:

“We will wait for your statement on what sanctions you will impose on Laarni Villaluz. This is beyond politics. She disrespected the terr0rist victims which were the recipient of the President’s gesture of love and respect!” Ron De Guzman commented.

“What kind of values your school is going to impart your students if you have in your employ mentors such as this Laarni Villaluz. She disrespected not only the President but also our Muslim brothers. You ought to do something about this,” Maria StaCruz remarked.

“How come your teacher doesn’t seem to know the ethics and values of your school? This is a big question to the good reputation of your school tainted with a garbage behaviour of a member of your staff,” Fely Crospy stated.

#FireLaarnieVillaluz,” Mikel Haganos wrote.

As of writing, the said school has yet to give any statement on what kind of action would they do to Villaluz.

Villaluz already apologized to the netizens for her actions and admitted that her post disrespected the President.

However, some netizens, including a teacher based in Taiwan wanted the teaching license of Villaluz to be revoked.

I’m a graduate of Bachelor of Secondary Education, Major in Social Science.

“Sino po may voucher from Pedigree? Baka po pwede makahingi. New user,” ani Villaluz.

“First of, I want to apologize to our President for inappropriately posting the said meme in a specific group. I am humbly asking for your acceptance of my apology, Mr. President. I know this has caused too much and too bad. This was literally a hundred percent sign of disrespect.

The teacher who received thousands of criticisms on social media after she posted an edited photo of President Rodrigo Duterte’s visit in Jolo was reportedly made an open letter to the netizens.

It can be remembered that the photo of President Duterte while kissing the area where the Jolo b0mbing happened became popular on social media.

A Facebook account who introduced herself as the said Senior High School teacher apologized to the President, to her family, workmates, and friends who got affected by her post.

She admitted that the edited “meme” photo that made the President look like eating dog food was disrespectful.

Villaluz also addressed the DepEd community for what she posted.

The teacher then asked the netizens not to criticize her family, friends, and workplace.

She claimed that she couldn’t access her original social media account anymore.

Here’s the full open letter of Villaluz:

Hello po. Allow me to express myself.

First of, I want to apologize to our President for inappropriately posting the said meme in a specific group. I am humbly asking for your acceptance of my apology, Mr. President. I know this has caused too much and too bad. This was literally a hundred percent sign of disrespect. I am really sorry po.

To DEPED community, I know this has been another issue po which has been connected in the profession. I am really sorry po for causing this trouble. Pasensya na po sa lahat ng teachers and in the field of Education. I am really sorry po.

To my Workplace, I know this has caused so much damage. Pasensya na po sa lahat. Especially sa admin who have been receiving lots of bashing. I will fix this po.

Please stop spreading hate towards my workplace po. Wala po silang kakulangan. My said post has nothing to do with my workplace po, at inaamin ko po na sobrang nagkamali ako. Please, ako na lang po. Wag po ang workplace ko.

To my students, sorry for disappointing you. I was becoming unprofessional with my post. I understand if the way you think of me has changed. Pasensya po. I’m really sorry.

And to everyone na nainis at nagalit, I am really sorry po. I know, this has lots of concequences.

With regards to my post, earlier in the morning, I saw that picture in a particular comment section and I downloaded it po. I was not the one who edited the picture, however, since I posted it po, I know I am accountable for it.

I am really sorry po. I deserve all of these.

On Monday, Villaluz was put in hot water after the photo she posted has gone viral on social media.

Some netizens who saw the teacher’s post wanted her license to get revoked because of her inappropriate attitude.

The Department of Education has yet to comment on the issue.

Ginawang aso ang Pangulo! Licensed teacher in hotwater after posting an edited photo of Duterte

A licensed teacher is in hotwater after she posted an edited photo of President Rodrigo Duterte while paying respect to the victims of Jolo b0mbings.

On Monday, Laarni Villaluz has gone viral on social media after she posted the said photo that was edited to make it look like the President is eating a dog food.

“Sino po may voucher from Pedigree? Baka po pwede makahingi. New user,” Villaluz said who’s referring to a branded dog food.

Unfortunately for Villaluz, the photo she posted raised thousands of eyebrows on social media and now she’s being criticized for what she did.

Netizen Marize Anzia was one of the netizens who called out Villaluz for her actions, saying that her post was very disrespectful both to the President and to her profession as a teacher.

“We all know that we do not have the best government nor the best president. But doing this kind of shit post is very unrespectful. Nakakalungkot. Naturingang edukado pero walang respeto,” said Anzia.

“DDS man o Hindi. Please stop,” she added.

Blogger Tio Moreno also made his comment on Villaluz’s action, saying that her degree would not hide her true behavior.

“DEGREE IS JUST A PIECE OF PAPER. REAL EDUCATION IS SEEN IN BEHAVIOR. To the Licensed Professional Teacher and Registered Criminologist—- Laarni Villaluz  Mas malinis pa budhi ng baboy namin sayo. I hope you’ll be designated to Jolo, just in case you’re practicing your professions,” Moreno wrote.

After receiving thousands of criticisms, Villaluz decided to delete her post and apologized for what she did.

“Ms. Laarni Villaluz and his BF messaged me about sa post ko. They were apologizing about sa act na nangyari. Its just that it is very below the belt kasi. Hindi ko rin inakala na magtetrend ng ganon in just a few hours. Me neither is not okay sa Pres at sa ating govt. Mahirap mag aral at mag trabaho. I guess lesson learned sa ating lahat ito,” Anzia said.

We are trying to get a comment from the Department of Education (DepEd), but they have yet to respond to our message.

Mon Tulfo says more corrupt officials under Duterte than Ramos to Noynoy admin

Columnist Mon Tulfo has expressed disappointment over the alleged lack of action of President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration against corruption.

In his Manila Times column wrote on August 22, Tulfo narrated that he offered his assistance to President Duterte to be a ‘watchdog’ against corruption, however, he’s now being “persecuted” for helping the current administration.

He complained about the libel cases filed against him under the Duterte administration.

“How ironic that in this government, which is supposed to be friendly, I have chalked up more libel cases filed by the President’s subalterns than in the previous administrations that were not friendly to me,” Tulfo said.

“All I’m doing is acting as a watchdog of the government that I helped into power in my own little way,” he added.

Tulfo then made a surprising statement, saying that there “are more corrupt officials under the Duterte administration than the previous administrations”

“During the administration of Aquino 3rd, whom I severely criticized for his perceived incompetence, my criticisms of government officials were all taken in stride. Not one Cabinet or bureau official in Noynoy’s government filed a libel case against me for my acerbic commentary. It’s only in this administration I’m helping to succeed that I’m being persecuted,” Tulfo stated.

In 2019, Tulfo posts bail for two libel cases filed against him by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.

These columns included the July 20 column “There goes Cayetano as House Speaker, also Medialdea,” where Tulfo accused the executive secretary of issuing a memorandum “apparently without the President’s knowledge” and which ordered all government agencies and government-owned and -controlled corporations to support the controversial Philippine Southeast Asian Games Organizing Committee (Phisgoc) Foundation; and a July 25 column where Tulfo accused Medialdea of sitting for an entire year on an appeal made by one Felicito Mejorada for the claim of PHP272.02 million in government reward money.

Last March, Tulfo also voluntarily surrendered to the police officers because of cyber libel cases against him.

Tulfo also became a special envoy to China in 2018 upon appointment by President Duterte.

Chuckie Dreyfus to sue netizen for claiming that he pocketed donation meant for Isabel Granada

Actor Chuckie Dreyfus had enough with the netizens claiming that he used Isabel Granada’s demise to earn money from the donations meant for the late actress.

Isabel faced her sudden end due to aneurysm in 2017.

In a Facebook post, Dreyfus mentioned a netizen who made a comment on a Pep.ph Facebook post, claiming that the actor didn’t inform the family of Isabel about the fundraising they’re launching.

The netizen claimed that Dreyfus insisted to help, but after 40 days the family of Isabel didn’t get anything from the said fundraising.

However, Dreyfus denied the accusation of Ruiz and even announced that he’s ready to file libel charges against the netizen.

After being called out, Ruiz apologized to Dreyfus, saying that her account was hacked and he’s not aware of the comments she made on Pep.ph.

He also showed comments from the relatives of Isabel, thanking him for what he did to raise funds for the late actress.

“WALA KAYO SA LUGAR NA PINANGYARIHAN AT MAS LALONG HINDI NINYO AKO KILALA NG PERSONAL PARA MAGSALITA KAYO NG GANYAN,” Dreyfus said.

Dreyfus received criticisms on social media after he was accused by former actor John Regala of pocketing the donations they gathered using the latter’s name.

The former “That’s Entertainment” talent tried to debunk Regala’s claims and showed some bank certificates to prove that they’re sending money to the former actor.

Unang-una conduct unbecoming of an elected and appointed public official. Pangalawa, social distancing… ‘Yung criminal [case].

Ayon sa section 2 ng  Republic Act 6713 o ang Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees “It is the policy of the State to promote a high standard of ethics in public service. Public officials and employees shall at all times be accountable to the people and shall discharge their duties with utmost responsibility, integrity, competence, and loyalty, act with patriotism and justice, lead modest lives, and uphold public interest over personal interest.”

“What I am asking for is a little compassion… The humiliation alone is enough punishment for those involved. I will not lecture people about morality. Let those who are perfect in every way judge another’s act. Let those who have never sinned be the first to render opinion,” saad ni Remulla.
